Hi Fellows, Something strange started with my Gigabyte RX 460 4 GB graphics card yesterday, and it is still doing that. While using the computer, doing office tasks and nothing that heavily works the GPU, and out of the blue, the GPU fans spun up to full speed (which is obnoxiously loud and shaky) and refused to slow down or stop even when I opened Gigabyte's own software to control the fans, and even when GPU temp dropped to only 30 C. The only way to make the fans stop once they start is to restart the computer. And then after restart, and after using the computer for a few hours, the problem happened again. Another restart and again... And again... All drivers/BIOS etc are up to date. All wires and connectors have been checked I checked the temperature with an IR thermometer and I can confirm that the fans are spooling up for no reason and while the temperature is under 40 C. I tried different fan profiles and regardless, the problem comes back and the fans won't respond to any software based command to reduce speed or stop. Any thought?

So yesterday i bought a sapphire 4 gb rx 460. i installed it into my pc and the booted it up using the dvi on gpu on boot. Previously i had a r7 200 series gpu so AMD crimson worked fine. now when i have my new gpu Crimson wont boot and just says no amd graphics installed , and telling me to install the drivers so for the next 4 hours yesterday i install and uninstall drivers, and i use amd clean up utility and then re installed and still nothing. it however does alow me to use my monitor at the correct rez. but when i check device manager it identifies the hardware but has the caution symbol by it saying i have no driver. i would use the disc that came with it but it was warped when i got it and wont run in any disk drive i have.

bought my little bro (17 yrs old) a RX 460 for his birthday a few months ago, looking to upgrade his CPU and motherboard (if necessary) for Christmas Honestly he is more interested in going to the gym (as a soldier, super proud of my little bro) and laying in bed, playing Tap Titans, than gaming. He does play League of Legends occasionally though. So if you think I should get something more suited to his interests, than forcing a CPU upgrade on him, I am all ears. (He does like wearing headphones as part of his outfit so maybe nice looking a pair of not Beats in the $100-$200 range? and maybe a DAC/Amp for his phone(S7 Edge)) little bro's rig: A10-7850K 2x8GB DDR3 mATX motherboard 650 watt 80+ Gold semi modular RX460 4GB peripherals: 2x1080p G710+ G502 G430 Bose Headphones not planning to spend more than $300 motherboard must be no larger than mATX planning to stick with DDR3, don't mind upgrading if within budget also, does anyone know what a 14yrs old girl want for Christmas??

Hello I found rx460 with reasonable price but I read some posts and its says that rx 460 needs about 400w psu so I dont know if I can run it or not. My pc specifications: Intel Core Duo E6300 1.86 GHz 2GB DDR2 RAM 300w power supply

I bought a Sapphire RX 460 4GB version 1 month ago. It's a dumb thing to say that I could wait but seeing Nvidia beating AMD again is a feel that I couldn't wash off. Yes, talking about GTX 1050ti. Why o why AMD is losing to nVidia when it even comes to the budget GPUs? I thought that with RX 460, AMD could hold the market for a few months but poof!! All Polaris talks are smoke now. Hell yeah, I a fanboy of AMD but not a biased one!! What are the issues with AMD that Nvidia is beating for? Damn am I sad!

Who did like Mafia 3? Reasons? Mafia 1 dealt with some kind of emotions which was similar to Nolan's Batman or Brando's Godfather or iconic level works. But Mafia 3. Smarty pants with Taylor Swift-ish stupid storyline. Boredom and . Same thing again and again and again. The details of the society of '68 is flawless but the starting is today's stereotype movie type. Someone's telling about someone. Recalling seeing towards the camera. 2K crapped their pants.

i switched my Geforce 9400 GT for Sapphire Raedon RX 460 2GB a few days ago. installed the new GPU and connected it with DVI-D cable. But monitor receives no signal. GPU fans were spinning. replaced new GPU with old one which uses VGA ; display works. what is going on ? some things to keep in mind are : 1) GPU has no external power supply slots , i triple checked. 2) I have a 450 Watt PSU , the GPU needs 400 minimum. 3) The DVI-D Port on my old monitor has not been used for 6 YEARS , i think that it may have been broken by dust/rust. 4) No beeps from the Mobo when i start PC , it just says no display signal. SPECS : Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 @ 2.50 GHz Intel DG43GT Nvidia Geforce 9400 GT (old gpu) 450 Watt crappy PSU 2 x 2GB DDR2 RAM Windows 7 64-bit 500GB HDD Samsung. Help !

just bought a Gigabyte Radeon™ RX460 WINDFORCE OC 2G. I decided to reinstall my OS (Windows 10 64bit), everything looks ok before I install the RX460 drivers here (same problem happen when i use the drivers on Gigabyte link). Im using: AMD A8 7600 Gigabyte F2A68HM-S1 HyperX 8GB DDR3 1866 Thermaltake TT-450NL2NK and 24" Fukuda FLED2401C 1080p Ive been using that unit(without videocard) for months using vga to vga on my HDTV. Now that I use rx460 using HDMI to HDMI on the same tv, im having some problems after I install the drivers Problems: 1: Ugly color 2: Resolution become larger Color became unpleasant, you will know that somethings not right. My tv has 1080p resolution but after I install the drivers, the 1080p become larger than my tv. Sorry for my bad English. same problem here

Hello! I just joined the forum and figured I would share my experience benchmarking my system. This being my first time on the forum (though I'm subscribed the main YT channel) I am not sure if this is the correct section to post this, so please let me know if I've got it wrong. Anyway, to introduce myself and my system I would like to share a video from my channel of a benchmark I recently ran using Heaven Benchmark 4.0 Basic. So you don't have to go through all the trouble of going to my main channel to find the video, I've posted it and it's description below. I appreciate any and all feedback, so go ahead and slam...welcome to the jam xD. Thank you! So I did a thing, then some more things, then reverted the things because of things. If you don't understand what I'm talking about or don't know what benchmarking is, then this video probably isn't for you. If you are here with more than the average knowledge of how-to-computer, then I'm sure I know what you're thinking... "But you've got some artifacting. That pretty much invalidates the test score because technically that's not considered stable. And no MSAA? NYYYEEEEEHHHHHHH!?!?" To which I reply...STFU. The system had been running for over an hour while I incrementally increased voltage, core clock and memory clock without a single system failure. The little bit of artifacting doesn't bother me as this test was just a proof of concept to myself. In my research of the highest tested stable clocks for the RX 460 all around I was only able to find a max clock of 1350mhz on the core and 2000mhz on the memory. I wanted to try and beat that. I took my time raising the core and memory clocks by 10 and voltage by 6 each time, starting at my previous most stable clocks of 1300mhz/1920mhz respectively. For reference, the stock clocks are 1220mhz/1750mhz. Personally, I consider this test successful. Regardless, I was pretty impressed at what my little chug-along PC could do. Here's the detailed specs: Asus M4A78T-E motherboard AMD Phenom II X4 955 (non-BE) CPU @ 3.81ghz (stable!) Zalaman CNPS5X Performa CPU cooler XFX RX 460 4GB Double Dissipation GPU 8GB DDR3 RAM @1600mhz (random Samsung sticks, OC from 1333mhz) 1TB WD10TPVT HDD + 80GB WD800JD 900W 80+ Silver PSU (EVGA...I think? Pretty overkill, I know) Cooler Master Elite 330 case If you understood all that, great...you can do a computer (or maybe a Google). It's not the fastest PC. It's not modern at all with the exception of the RX 460 and that's even a year old on the market by the time of this upload. Most of the parts are about 8 years old. The A1 and A2 DIMM slots on the motherboard are toast, so I can't get the maximum amount of RAM supported. I probably should've gone with a GTX 1050TI when I went looking for a GPU at Best Buy back in February 2017 before the Etherium mining blew up and ruined budget gaming cards for everybody. I still paid $140 for it (because retail) and the 1050TI was only $20 more but for the specs above the RX 460 is probably the better choice anyway. The main monitor I use is an ACER X203H which has a maximum resolution of 1600x900, so I use Virtual Super Resolution and GPU Scaling in Radeon Crimson Settings to get crisper resolutions. Aside from its' faults, I love this computer and it's the fastest PC I've personally owned. It games really well and I'm even able to record most gameplays at 1080p/60FPS. In some cases, like Batman Arkham Asylum and GTAV, I even play at 1440p at mostly Medium/High settings with the lowest frames reaching only between 35-40FPS. I even stream at 720p/60FPS on Twitch.tv/dragonhart6505, so check me out there where I've mostly been playing Paladins lately. Would I game with these clocks? Obviously not as any kind of artifacting, no matter how small, is cause for concern in terms of system stability and either the GPU will fail or the system will lock up/crash forcing a restart of the PC. Also, any kind of overclocking reduces the lifespan of your components. They are set at a standard by the manufacturer for a reason and any damages incurred by going beyond their recommendations is off your own accord, voiding your warranty in most situations. I understand this risk, but I'll probably stick to my latest stable clocks at 1330mhz/1950mhz. If the power is there, why not use it? Do you think this a reasonable score for the RX 460, considering the rest of the system? Would you like to see me benchmark some more programs? How about a full review of the computer? Let me know what else you'd like to see and I'll catch you guys in the next video!

I've already taken the leap to do this, so here's my experience so far. I have an XFX 4gb RX 460 Double Dissipation. I should mention that I have applied the "Unlocked Shaders" bios modification to my card, so temperature readings as described below are a few degrees higher than with the stock RX 460 unmodded. Thought I'd clear that up beforehand. In a recent thread I posted about benching said RX 460 (my very first post here) I was introduced to HWbot.com, a community of competitive and enthusiastic overclockers. TL;DR, the thread quickly got out of hand between me and one other member of the LTT/HWBot community about going fast and pushing my CPU (Phenom II x4 955) to its limit. I fiddled around and got a max clock up to 4.114ghz that I recorded to CPUZ validator. Cool stuff! During the process of trying to OC my CPU to the max, I screwed up and realized I don't have any thermal paste to replace on my heatsink. So I went out and got the best I could find in my immediate area, some Arctic Silver 5. Applied, validated my CPU clocks...good to go. Then I got to thinking...what would it do for my RX 460? Last night I wasted no time getting temperature readings of it at stock and OC'd before tearing into my GPU. I used 3DMark Fire Strikes' introductory scene just to get the GPU ramped up and hot, so I don't have any scores to speak of yet. So stock temps at idle were anywhere between 51c-56c with the default fan curve, which Radeon Crimson leaves off until it thinks they're needed. This was the same case with my OC applied, more or less (a recent update to MSIAB disabled sticking the GPU clock maxed out on unofficial overclock). On load the fans ran at 1700rpm keeping the temp at 67-68c. With my OC, the fans ran around 2200rpm and temps hit 71-72. There was also quite a bit of artifacting during the bench. I am aware that my overclock was ambitious, to say the least, and I didn't need NEARLY this high of a voltage bump. I didn't realize my mistake until after the fact...we'll get to that later. So let's take it apart: It was really easy to tear down. 4 screws on the back of the PCB holding the block down and 2 on the rear of the support shroud. Here's what XFXs' application looked like and here is mine Close it all back up and slap it back in. Results? Well, this is the tricky part to me. I ended up wasting another couple applications of my AS5 because turns out that wasn't quite enough paste. Temps were actually HIGHER at idle and it became even more unstable than before during OC. So I tore it down 3 more times and applied paste differently each time. Second application was spread, third application was a dot, and final application was a larger dot. I compared temps after each on load and at idle with the same settings and results were minimally different from each other and the initial baseline test. However my final "bigger dot" method seemed to do a bit better than the rest. I have come to terms that the fan curve provided by Radeon Crimson is crap. You need the fans to spin at least a LITTLE bit to get some kind of cooling result, otherwise the GPU die is relying solely on the heatsink and that alone is only going to do so much. Currently with 25% fan speed, idle temps rest at about 36c-40c. Cooling while on load is where the real result comes in. I can actually keep the GPU cool enough below 65c while overclocked on load at 40% fan speed, or 1800rpm, to finish the same Fire Strike test, this time with more reasonable settings. So back to the point I added earlier about my OC settings. Turns out at 1340mhz/1920mhz I really only need to bump the voltage up to +12 and remain stable enough with minimal artifacting, though that's still not ideal. I don't plan to keep the clocks that high for any other purpose other than benchmarking and even then it's giving diminishing returns in terms of actual performance gain. This is why you test and learn, people . I think that just about covers my experience. I have found a happy medium in temps and maximum performance gain out of my card at a more reasonable 1330mhz/1920mhz and +6 on voltage to get about 62c with no artifacting throughout the Fire Strike benchmark. I do also know that the Arctic Silver 5 needs some time to cure, so my temperatures may drop a degree or two more when it finally sets. Here's hoping! I hope you enjoyed this little experiment of mine. Do you think it was worth it to do this on a budget card? Please leave your thoughts down below. I'd love to hear your own experience and whether or not you might try this after seeing these results.

I'm running windows 8.1 64 bit. So here is the full story, one day Microsoft released the Creators update. After I got it the issues started, many others fixed the issue by disabling xbox features and game mode. I tried to get help but couldn't get any answers. I then got frustrated so I switched to windows 8.1. The issue STILL continues and I really need help. Some games are near unplayable with this issue. Everything just looks blurry. This only started happening when the creators update was released. HELP PLEASE I contacted blizzard support and they told me something was wrong with my gpu but wouldn't tell what it was. Below I have attached files which to them showed some problem. MSINFO.txt DxDiag.txt

First of all, I'm strictly neither a hardcore game lover so I'm not demanding a high-end graphics card. I'm currently using Intel integrated graphics(HD4400), and I'm occasionally suffered by some bugs(e.g. sudden display resolution change when waking up from sleep mode). So I'm planning to get a cheap RX 460, and I could find this model : 'Sapphire Radeon RX 460 OC D5 2GB' It's about $121 online, but I'm able to get it around $109 in offline market(of course a new product, not a used one). All I'm going to do with it is running productivity-related tasks, playing high resolution videos, and enjoying low/middle-spec needed games. My system includes i3-4170 and 500W power supply so I don't have to worry about either performance bottleneck or lack of enough power, by the way. So... do you guys think RX 460 2GB variant will be a nice choice for me?

It's a short bit of news so I'll post it here. German extreme overclocker der8auer has posted a couple custom BIOSes that would allow RX 460s to be unlocked to the full Polaris 11 chip. When the 460 released, we were dissapointed to learn that the chip on it was cut down, but there may be a way to unlock some of the RX 460 chips. PC Specs: i7 3770K 16GB DDR3 HIS RX 460 iCooler 2GB Z77X-UD3H MOTHER BOARD What happened : I saw a lot of posts of people upgrading their Bios to get more performance out of their RX 460, I did the same I opened up the bat file with administrator access and my Pc blue screened. When I tried rebooting , it would give long beep fooled by two short beep. What I did: Took out the gpu out of my case and plugged DVI Cable into the Integrated GPU, went to BIOS and set IGFX as default Gpu, Plugged GPU back into pci e slot and booted using IGpu. Downloaded atiflash and installed it into a pendrive with DOS, rebooted and booted into DOS and typed in 'atiflash - i' and 'atiflash - it', both replied with 'Adapter not found' What I tried to do to fix it: Cleared CMOS Any way to unbrick the card?

Hello I seem to have an issue with one of the older systems I have in the house. I upgraded it today to an RX 460 hoping that it will be able to at least run CS:GO at a reasonable frame rate. Booted the game up and it was using 100% of my CPU and running at around 45fps which I would class as unplayable. Any ideas on how to solve it? CPU: Intel Core i5 750 GPU: XFX RX 460 PSU: 600W Chieftec PSU (been using for many years)

Hey guys, today I received a new adapter for my graphics card. With this new adapter, I can plug two monitors into one card which is the goal. By the way, my graphics card is the RX 460 which supports AMD Eyefinity, which is supposed to support 6 monitors. However. now when I plug both monitors into the graphics card, I only get one to show a picture. I can get both monitors to work individually if I only have one plugged in when I boot. When I go into device manager only one monitor is shown in display devices, and when I click "detect" in display under settings the software doesn't detect any other displays. I want to use multiple displays to help with my programming but I appeared to have reached a roadblock. Any Ideas?
