So I recently had to force shutdown my pc multiple times because I messed up my boot priority and noticed I dropped 2-3 frames in benchmarks, is this sign of gpu damage or It dropped fps because summer is close and its getting hot. In Deus EX Mankind Divided I used to get max fps- 75.1 average fps- 55.5 min fps- 41.1 Now I get max fps- 73.4 average fps- 521. min fps- 40.1 I also have Tomb Raider 2013 benchmark results to compare max fps- 200 average fps- 157.0 min fps- 114.0 Now I get max fps- 198 average fps- 157.4 min fps- 116 This all started after I reinstalled windows and had to force shutdown my pc.

Hello everyone! I currently have a AMD R9 Fury X and it has been good to me for a long time, but as games get more intense and I am planning to buy a 1440p 144hz monitor, I wanted to ask what would be the best move for a new card, that will be the best at running low-mid (and rare, but some) high tier games at 130-150 fps avg for the present and into the future with also possible VR play soon. My budget is 500-750$ usd, and I was looking at various card from 2070s 2080 2080s and the Vega II. The vega wouldn't be on there, BUT it is 550$ on amazon right now, which is a lot less than msrp. Thank you all in advance for suggestions! P.S. I have a i5-4690k with 16gb ddr3 :)

I recently built my first PC for my parents, and my Dad wanted to play GTA V on it. It started to freeze after he had been playing for 10-15 minutes, and told him to restart the game. It told him to try re-installing if the problem wasn't fixed. We reinstalled 3 times. I personally think that the onboard graphics on the 3400g are being overtaxed(1920 by 1080 @75hz), because the cpu fans tends to get very loud when playing the game. I can play Fortnite, but not GTA V on that pc. We have an RTX 2080 on a shelf for a future build(mine), and I was wondering if I could temporarily put that in there to find out if there is a GPU bottleneck. If there is, we can plan on possibly getting another graphics card for that computer(1050-1060(or AMD equivalent) or something). I feel that the RTX 2080 will crush any possible bottleneck, but I don't know if it will run with a 500 watt power supply. Will it run if I have a setup of a 3400g(CPU), Hyper 212 RGB(CPU Cooler), Asus TUF Gaming b450m(Motherboard), 500w Thermaltake Smart 80+ White Certified(PSU)? The RAM is clocked at CL16 2933mhz. If it won't run under the 500w limit, can I limit maximum usage to 75%, or 50% to reduce power cosumption. How would I do that? I thank you for any help you can provide on whether the RTX 2080 can run under 500w power supply, or if you think you know what the problem with GTA 5 on the 3400G is.

Hello, I’m looking for recommendations for a replacement cooler for my RTX 2080 Founder’s Edition. I’ve done a little research, for example EVGA sells their Hybrid cooling solution but sadly is not compatible with the reference cards per the notation on the store page. I’m not looking to get into an open loop solution. An AIO or superior heat sink design is what I’m after should they even exist.

The evga rtx 2060 ko is the same die as rtx 2080 but with some cores locked so if we flash a rtx 2080 bios to the rtx 2060 then can unlock the cores and make it a rtx 2080

Hi I recently purchased a 5700 xt. It was a good card but however i kept getting black screens and computer randomly restarting so i returned it (I read that might be a possibility since i use two monitors) 1: 4k Acer KG281K and 2: 1080P Acer . So I purchased a RTX 2080 and while thats fixed the issues above the performance has been less than i thought it would be given the price of the card. Every game i bring up says i should be using just about max settings 4K. Some games are fine but i keep getting constant stuttering and frame drops issues even when dropping the resolution down to 1440p and 1080p. I'm not entirely sure i think it might be the power the card is getting . I was originally using one of those 6pin/8pin power cables but i read some where that using two separate cables might fix the issue. Can someone confirm that that is the problem needing two separate power cables one for the six pin connector and one for the 8 pin connector ?? I will need to order another cable if thats the problem. I had one of those 4 pin molex connector cables and had a six pin adapter so i'm currently using that to see if that would sort fix the issue but not really. Specs below CPU: Ryzen 2700 (wraith spire cooler) GPU: Gigabyte RTX 2080 PSU: EVGA 600BQ RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz

After changing from Asus GGPU Tweak ii to MSI afterburner I noticed rather than reporting the stock Memory speeds as 14000MHz in GPU tweak and 7000MHz in afterburner its now reporting as 13600MHz and 6800MHz and when I try to use my same memory overclock of 16100Mhz in GPU tweak or 8050Mhz which should be the equivalent in Afterburner which was stable for hours on end of gaming it now crashes if I try to get it there or any where close to that now. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi guys, im in a dilemma, my computer broke completely down and now I'm shopping for a new one. With the new CPUs from ryzen coming up I have to be a little bit more patient however my dilemma is with the graphics cards. I'm gaming at 1440p and my curent budget i can afford the 2080 strix. Now should I go for the rx 5700 xt or just the rtx 2080 or 2080 super. Whats also a question mark with release date. I'm willing to wait till half juli my wife is already going nuts with me taking her tv. I know that the rtx 2080 is the best and the 5700xt is still a unknown and only coming close to 2070. But is it worth it at 1440p uw to get a 2080 and spend so much, I don't really care about raytrace. (Yet). What do you guys think. Another options would be: 2070 super

My Build- CPU: Intel Core i5-6600k @ 3.5GHz MB: H170 (stupidly didn't know anything about overclocking when I bought this PC 3 years ago) RAM: 16GB GPU: RTX 2080 (recently upgraded from GTX 460) Monitor: 2560 x 1080 144Hz Hello. I've recently done a major upgrade of my GPU. Before then, I was able to play games like GTA and Far Cry 4 at low settings with a decent (20-30 fps) framerate. Now, I can't play any games that are even remotely demanding at a solid framerate. I get a good 40-70 fps but every 5-15 seconds the game completely freezes. I have tried adjusting all the settings. I even tried playing GTA with minimum settings, 50Hz, and at 800 x 600 but it still is loading things in underneath me as I'm driving and it completely freezes for 5-10 seconds every 5-15 seconds. In Task Manager, my GPU never goes above 30% utilization when gaming. My CPU is shows as constantly at 100% usage no matter what I'm doing. Gaming or not. I've looked to see if there are any processes that are taking up the CPU but there isn't anything out of the ordinary. I don't understand why this is happening. One of my friends pointed out to me that this may be due to the vulnerabilities that Intel has been having to patch which have been said to decrease performance sizably but I think that there is a larger problem here. I've seen videos of people getting 100+ fps with my exact setup so I think that it's possible. Note this I can't overclock because I don't have a motherboard that can support it. I stupidly didn't know nearly as much as I do now about building PCs so a made a few poor choices. Now I know 100x more than I did then. If someone can help me out, I would be suuuuper grateful and I will feel much better. Maybe I'll have to wait until I get a 9900k. :P (in my dreams) I previously posted this on r/buildapc but it got buried in other posts. Thanks in advance. ****************************************************************** Here's what I've done so far to troubleshoot the issue: -CPU is constantly running at 3.6 GHz according to CPU-Z. -There is no thermal throttling, power throttling, or low power mode enabled. -There are no processes in Task Manager that would cause the CPU to be taken up. -Integrated Graphics are disabled -Reinstalled the graphics driver -I ran a full scan on Malwarebytes and nothing came up. -The "Minimum processor state" is set to 5% in power options in Control Panel. -Set all bios settings to "optimized defaults" -Checked the C State limit settings in bios and they're set to auto -Uninstalled any overclocking software -Problem persists in Safe Mode -THE PROBLEM DOES NOT PERSIST ON A FRESH WINDOWS INSTALL THAT I INSTALLED ON A SEPARATE DRIVE BUT I AM STILL TRYING TO GET MY ORIGINAL WINDOWS INSTALL TO WORK

I recently bought a new GPU which is the Gigabyte RTX 2080 Gaming OC White 8gb version. I was playing MGSV today when all of a sudden my computer started sounding like a jet engine. I immediately knew right away it was the GPU because of where the sound was coming from and the amount of air that was coming from the card. I ended the game and the fans were still running at 100% even from letting it sit for a few minutes it was still running full speed when no game was running. The only way to get the fans to be quiet is to shut the computer off and turn it back on as restarting it did not work either. I downloaded MSI Afterburner to see what the temps were and saw that the temperature of the GPU was only at 35c and dropping?! I tried adjusting the fan speed from MSI Afterburner and the fans would speed up to 100% just from me applying the fan settings that should've slowed them down. The fans were not responding to MSI Afterburner. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the card but that did not seem to work. Reseating the card did not work either. Should I return the card to amazon since this is the second card that has failed on me (first one caused green artifacts to appear all over the display). Or is there anything you can think of to fix this issue? I should mention that the card when running idle works perfectly fine and when I also tested it with furmark the fans would spin up and not go back down to a reasonable speed.

So, I'm new here and I had the idea of taking an Antec Kuhler 1250 which has the pumps in the radiator assembly then cutting the tubes at the CPU block and plugging them into an EKWB 2080 waterblock. Anyone see any issues?

I am building a deep learning computer and am choosing the parts. Is it possible to have a computer with rtx 2080 ti under 1500? Minimum specs: 16-32 GB ram Intel 8gen cpu Case any PSU enough is ok RGB not needed Quiet system If it is not possible, is it possible to build a pc with rtx 2080 instead but with 1200 budget? Thank you

Hello It’s my first time on this forum. I need you to help me with two things. First, will my i7-7700k bottleneck Rtx 2080 in 1080 p games like cs:go, pubg. Currently I have it overclocked to 4,7 GHz and I’ll try to go higher maybe even to 5 GHz. Secondly, is my Be Quiet 600 W PSU going to handle all of this? I have used a few calculators and the results differ so much it’s hard for me to tell. I have: 1x HDD 2x SSD, 3x 120 mm CASE FANS and 2x 8 gb of ram. Thank you all for your answers

Long story short, I'm fairly green on PC building and am a bit in the dark on AIO placement, airflow related to it, and the appropriate case. I bought the Gigabyte RTX 2080 Auros with the aio with the intent of getting a second one down the line. So on top of researching a mobo to accomodate that, im concerned about placement and how multiple aios even work in a case, and if there is a case to fit it. I also intended to get an aio for the cpu. Open air case? Now I am aware of the risks of watercooling and increasing my points of failure, but for the sake of argument, I want to know if this can work. Answers for this, particularly for this gpu, are sparse at best online. Maybe thats suggesting something. Help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hey, so I just built a new PC, with ryzen 5 2600x, palit rtx 2080, 3200MHz 16gb corsair vengeance RAM, 600w be quiet! psu, and I’m gaming on 1080p. At the time I’m playing fortnite, and I’ve capped my FPS to one 160 and were expecting it to constantly be up there with one setting on epic and the rest on low. But it’s not like that, it drops all the time and goes as low as 60 FPS. (I used my old SSD and I had problems with drops on my last PC aswell, Idk if it can cayse anything) Anyone have any clue on what can be causing it and how to fix?

So I have went completely nuts when it has come to building my first gaming pc. It is stupidly expensive and I believe I have bought bad parts in terms of cooling or utilising my GPUs to its full potential. Any advice on which parts I should switch to fully utilise my GPU. I don't mind the slight bottleneck with my cpu and GPU its mostly the motherboard I'm afraid of. CPU: i5 9600k GPU: Msi rtx 2080 ti gaming trio motherboard: msi z390 - a pro ram: 2x 8gb corsair vengeance 3200mhz power supply: corsair Corsair VS650 650 W Active PFC 80 PLUS Certified Power Supply Unit case: EMPIRE GAMING - WarFare PC Gaming unit - Black - Red LED: USB 3.0, 3 x 120 mm LED Fans, Smoked transparent side panel - ATX/mATX/mITX fan: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooling System storage: m.2 Samsung monitor: Asus rog yes I know I'm a noob.

I'm looking to build a completely new PC, currently running a 1440p@165Hz monitor (May plan to add more monitor in the future), living in the UK. Have a budget of around £1300-£1700 (under £1500 if possible). mainly using it for gaming (Rocket League [170fps+], casual GTA 5 [90fps+]). I would like to keep the PC for at least 2 years and I don't need to save RAM slots for future upgrade. I am also using the PC to stream (1080p 60fps / 720p 60fps). I use adobe premiere and photoshop lightly, so 16-32GB of RAM is needed, and also I use Cubase Pro 9.5 (Digital Audio Workstation) -> making music, so a better CPU might be better I'm fine with some fps drops in premiere, photoshop and Cubase, as I'm using this PC mostly for gaming, RGB is not required, but I don't mind it Keyboards, mouse, etc. are not needed, Bluetooth and wifi are not required. No storage is required, but an extra M.2 could be thrown in there. No OS needed EDIT: The budget has risen to £3000 to £4000

I have an ATX PC with a 9900k and an EVGA 2080 xc ultra. planning on downsizing to an ITX system but am struggling to find a case that can hold my GPU as it is the 2.75 slot, there is a 2 adapter which means the issue isn't the number of expansion slots but the space below them. I would also like to use the Noctua NH-u12a if possible but am happy to use a radiator of at least 240mm. hoping someone will be able to recommend a case I could use for this build, doesn't have to be super small just not large. I have been looking at the InWIn A1 plus because it looks like my GPU might fit but am not sure. Added points for a glass side panel, ATX PSU mount, dust filters and USB type C front IO Thanks in advance

Hey guys, I´m planing to make a Mini-ITX for gaming at 1440p. Living in Spain so therefore I´m limited to a few stores here! I already own the CPU and GPU, was cheap for 320€ and 480€ each. - Case (InWin A1) or (Raijintek Ophion Evo) - The InWin A1 comes with a 600W PSU and costs 160€, not sure if it´s good for my system / In case of Ophion Evo I can choose to buy a ATX PSU Gold + and in total with PSU costs 210€; - CPU Intel i7 9700K (own) - Cooling (InWin A1) - Corsair Hydro Series H60 (2018) with 3x Be quiet! Silent Wings 3 High-Speed (All intakes) / (Raijintek Ophion Evo) - Corsair Hydro H100x with 1 Be quiet! Silent Wings 3 High-Speed as intake in bottom - Motherboard MSI MPG Z390I GAMING EDGE AC - Memory G.Skill 16GB DDR4 3400MHz Trident Z CL16 - GPU Zotac Nvidia RTX 2080 AMP (own) - HDD Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB So, what case should I go for? Ye I know, CPU and GPU are already a must, can´t change it and I don´t wanna spend much more money. The InWin seems to have better airflow and temps but the PSU makes me afraid of it and if I change it the costs go up alote, like big time! Thanks for any reply. Hugs!

I’m having a PC built and I’ve had to wait for a very long time to get a good gaming pc. I read a lot to inform myself going from almost zero knowledge on this topic and I’m putting almost all the money I got into this. So what do you guys think, is the i5 9600K with an Asus RTX 2080 dual oc 8Gb and 16Gb RAM a good PC, exclusively for gaming? I’m planning to use it to plug it to a 46” tv I bought trough HDMI cable to play my games like that, I think the tv is 1080p and 60 hz (dunno if that’s actually good or bad). Is it a good investment for the future as well, as in will it allow me to play new games in the coming day 10 years?
