So, just built a crazy high end PC and sat in my chair to reflect at all my work. After maxing out AAA games and benchmarking... a somberness set in. I miss Ratchet and Clank, I miss Crash Bandicoot, I want to play Jack and Daxter. Please friends of the internet, I've searched without any luck... is there a way? Can I play Xbox 360, PS, PS1, PS2 or even PS3 games on a PC? I must know... Thanks, Mr. Nostalgia

Hello everyone. I often see people mention how one major component of why it's a good thing to be a PC gamer is that Steam Sales recoup any extra costs in making a decent gaming PC. That consoles can't compete in terms of game price. And how Playstation Plus free games aren't free because you do technically pay for them, which I admit, you do. Note: I primarily game on PC, but I do own a PS2, PS3, PS4, and PSP. However, I wanted to take inventory and really see what I've got so far from being a Playstation Plus member for over 2 years and actively getting the free games (since you have to manually get them in the store and they aren't automatically given to you) for most of that time (I'd say I've missed 20% of the them overall). Here is the image (you'll have to click it to make it readable). To give you an idea, this is effectively $150 spent as 3 years of Playstation Plus is that much (and I have bought it yearly up until recently where I bought the 3 months package). Here is a list of games I actually was happy to get (there are always those you don't care for when you don't have a choice): Limbo Trine 2 Complete Story Binding of Isaac Rebirth Spelunky Dust: An Elysian Tale Transistor inFAMOUS: First Light Injustice: Gods Among Us Valiant Hearts: The Great War MGSV: Ground Zeroes Rocket League Super Meat Boy CounterSpy ModNation Racers: Road Trip Playstation All Stars Royale Gravity Rush God of War: Ascension Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time Twisted Metal (newest one) ICO & Shadow of Colossus Thomas Was Alone Lone Survivor Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut Terraria Payday 2 Grim Fandango Remastered Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition Metro: Last Light Skullgirls Encore NBA 2K14 Bioshock Infinite Dishonored Saint's Row: The Third Batman Arkham City Batman Arkham Asylum Muramasa Rebirth Yakuza 4 Borderlands 2 Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower Monster Hunter Freedome Unite Jet Set Radio Street Fighter X Tekken Resident Evil Chronicles HD Collection Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Thief Hitman Trilogy Mass Effect 2 Dead Space 3 Dragon Age: Origins Crysis 3 Medal of Honor: Warfighter Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon Prototype 2 Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Broforce Uncharted 3's entire single player campaign Hitman Absolution Tell Tale's Walking Dead Season 2 Soul Sacrifice Don't Starve Outlast Note: If you see multiple of the same game in the image of the list, it's either because I got DLC with them (such as Hitman Absolution's silenced pistol) or because I got the game on multiple systems (Vita/PSP, PS3 and PS4) or both. I'd count that personally. Was the above list worth $150? I would say most definitely yes. 70 games for $150 is pretty great (Hitman trilogy counting as 3 and ICO & Shadow of Colossus counting as 2). That's not even considering the discounts you get as a Playstation Plus member as well. Being able to play on the Internet at that point is a bonus (even if I feel it should be free anyway). Of course there were indie games or otherwise games I am not interested in that I got as well, but the above list is only ones I am glad I got (and that list is large and full of AAA titles, even if many are Sony specific ones). If some of you are Playstation Plus members and want to get games for systems you don't own or want to make the process easier, you can go to the following URL and just get all the free games for the month in 1 process (i.e. log in -> add to cart -> checkout) instead of using multiple systems (if that's still required). https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/free-games/cid=STORE-MSF77008-PSPLUSFREEGAMES Since you can't get the games for Vita when accessing the store via PS4 (at least I don't think you can, since I haven't tried in ages and it used to be that way), I have always used the above link as it lets me do so. Happy gaming.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SBXBQDS Did this happen and I did't know? I mean I had known that PSVR had it's specs released a little while ago but I didn't know it was on Amazon already. And it's only $400. Though it does only have a 1080p screen. Sounds kind of sketchy. Any thoughts?

Ever since I can't believe how a consoles performs very well on games and it only cost 1 gaming parts of a rig/pc until I just recently knew that PS4 only has a 30FPS at 1080P? WTF! My whole life is a fcking LIE! differentiating 30FPS and 60FPS are very very different trust me I know I'm a PRO MOBA player in League of Legends "Master Tier" in Season 5, in MOBA oh god dropping FPS to 30 is a very very frustrating thing that will happen to you. Is there a way to overclock a console? or is there anyway to improve frame rates up to 60 STABLE FPS? I own a console from PS1-PS3 but I never owned an XBOX Console and I never knew that consoles have a 30FPS? I can agree now for those people who saying that PC gaming is the best, yes it is, coz you can make your video quality set to ultra and set to much higher resolution etc. but think about how much will you spend on a gaming pc that can run a game (e.g. Witcher 3) at 4k and stable at 60FPS. I've seen some videos/benchmark that even 2 way sli 980 ti can't even make the FPS stable at 60 (non-OC) on witcher 3 Ultra/4K. god how much a 980 ti cost each? I really cant believe to my self that I just knew this stuff. I currently owned a gaming rig that can run witcher 3 high 1080p 30fps. I'm planning to get back to console but If i really can overclock a console that would be great I wouldn't hesitate buying PS4 ASAP, but until its only fix to 30fps, I doubt buying it. and you should be subscribed to PSN to be able to play multiplayer.

Hello. So recently I bought a wireless controller for my friend. It has PlayStation/PC button layout, but its not made by Sony company. Its Gembird JPD ST04W. It comes with driver disc, charging cable and the adapter. I'm having problems on setting it up. I'm new to these types of things and manual on this thing is pretty much useless so I don't know much. I can only change some settings on controll panel/devices setting. Is there any useful software that helps? How to make it that it won't interfere with my keyboard? How does it works with pc in general? This is how it looks:

Original Article: http://www.engadget.com/2016/01/26/sony-interactive-entertainment-llc/ Title says it all really. Sony is going to be cutting ties with it's PlayStation brand and forming a new "separate" company out of the new division. The new company is rumored to be called "Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC" It is to combine Sony computer Entertainment with Sony Network Entertainment and will be led under Andrew House as CEO. No much is said to change, but the company will now have its HQ based in California, and will officially class "April 1st as its first say of business" EDIT: And will have a starting capital of $2 Million Many are speculating this is due to Sony's recent financial struggle, even though its mobile division is not holding strong - Sony is succeeding in other ares such as Cameras and modules which it leases to other smartphone manufactures. People are joking at the fact that Sony can change it's name, but users cannot change their PSN names... My thoughts: Not much to say. They are splitting off profitable segments of their business, probably due to their recent financial issues and having to dispose of some sub-businesses (Just my thought, probably not true) but overall, this shouldn't really affect the mass public for the time being. Your thoughts? Please leave them down below!

I upgraded from a 5+ year old wifi router and modem about 3 days ago. Everything was smooth and fast when I first set it up, but now for whatever reason my PS4 and Windows 8.1 PC have very bad connections. They will either refuse to connect all together, or will briefly connect with less than 50 kb/s download and upload. I can't even load speedtest.net. I have pinged a couple of different sites and not once has all four packets made it, and the few that do have 600+ ping. I have been trying for the past 9 hours to fix my PC only to just recently find out my PS4 has gone to garbage too. I've tried: Updating the drivers (both with the automated Windows feature and going directly to the website for the drivers and they both show I am up to date.) Changing the WiFI channel. Restarting everything many different times and different ways. Changing between b/g/n modes on the router. Using different connections to the router (2.5ghz and the guest connection.) Changing the security settings of the router (WEP, WPA2, and open) Scanning my PC for viruses Looking for programs that might be limiting my bandwidth. I big possibility is that the WiFi router doesn't send a very reliable signal. I connected my 3DS to it on the same floor as my PC and the signal strength was all over the place. My PC is two floors away from my router, which is in my basement (I know this is the worst possible place for it, but the idiot that wired my house put the living room, the basement, and most of the top floor all on the same breaker so we can't even have the TV, space heater, PC, and washing machine going at the same time otherwise we trip the breaker.) My PC is a prebuilt Dell Inspiron 660. Intel Core i5 (3rd Gen) 3330 / 3 GHz Windows 8.1 64-bit 1tb hdd 8 GB RAM (2x4GB) Dell Wireless 1506 802.11b/g/n card (2.5ghz) Intel Integrated Graphics My WiFi router is a Belkin AC 1200 DB Wi-Fi Dual-Band AC+ Gigabit Router (model: F9K1113) P.S. Sorry if I rambled or did something wrong. This is my first time here and I'm very irritated with this whole issue. I checked around the forum for the same issue and none are the same.

First of all, I have't played any of the new VR hardware yet. I hope Luke talks about Sony VR as much as occ and vive. He's a console gamer too and diggs his Wii U games. Are we writing off Sony's VR? I'm gonna pre order the Sony VR. If Sony VR could run Valkerie, or lets say No Mans Sky, in 120fps, why wouldn't a lot of folks prefer that over Occ and Vive that are only 90? Or at least consider what's going on in the console universe. In VR, at the moment, aren't we, as gamers, very concerned in what VR needs the most, that being less puke? I guess I'm still wanting to hear more comparisons of Sony VR to the high end, super expensive, beta-esque, pc versions that is a hard sell, even to big spending gamers. I know money needs to be spent on Occ and Vive and whatever else to push the industry. Personally, I just want to be able to look around in a VR environment more than anything else. Occ and Vive controllers are better than Sony's we already know, but they're still controllers, and youd always feel a controller, not a gun, or teapot, or anything else. I'm gonna want a vr glove before that's worth high end gaming price. If Sony's fov is good enough, and fps keeps motion sickness away and games looking smooth, how much better "experience" would Valkerie be on occ or Vive? $1500 better?!?!? And these are questions, not stones. I'm asking, where do LinusTechTips soldiers stand on Sony's pony?

Hey guys, so I have a Playstation 3D display I'm using as a monitor for my PC (http://us.playstation.com/ps3/accessories/sony-playstation-3d-display-ps3/index.html). It's paired with my Asus GTX 970 Strix through an HDMI 2.0 cable. The issue I'm having is that it has an advertised 240Hz refresh rate, but when hooked up to my PC it's only outputting 1080p/60Hz. I've tried overclocking the refresh rate in the Nvidia Control Panel, but to no luck. Every time I input a refresh rate higher than 60Hz, the monitor tells me that it is not supported. Am I doing something wrong or is this just false advertising?

So, my PS3 is dying and I want to build a small form factor pc to replace it. my budget is around 500-600$. I would prefer it to be a mini itx one, so I could fit everything into an HTPC (or small case) and put it in my living room. I would also love it if it would support 5.1 speakers so I could skip buying a receiver for my living room. Performance-wise, the dream would be getting 1440p at 60+ fps but I'm not fooling myself... Any tip or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

I copied this from another forum, I just want the most answers possible. Thank you. So I wanted to connect my PS4 to my PC monitor just because it is more convenient to me. I know HDMI is limited to 60Hz no problem console is the same. My problem is that I cannot get a picture through HDMI on this monitor. HDMI works with my PC just fine (had to test if the monitors port was bad) I use DVI on my PC normally. I disabled HDCP on the PS4 set resolution to 1080p on it as well and I got a picture for about 10 minutes then it went black again... Still get audio coming through. The PS4 works perfectly on all of my TVs. I have tried all of the available resolutions on the PS4 too and no luck... I also tried different HDMI cables nothing helps thus far. I can hear the menu of the PS4 but I cant get an image. Please, any suggestions are welcome!

--- there's nothing concrete what's inside it, but SONY calls it the "Processing Unit" is it a good thing, or a bad thing? I'd say it's a good thing since it can be "upgraded" (to be read as swapped for a newer one) could it be used to boost PS4 performance for not VR? quite possibly

Probably a year ago, I became more and more interested of the PS2's inner workings. I don't know why, so don't ask. I'm incredibly curious about it, how it works and how games take advantage of the hardware. As of recently, I became aware of the PS2 Tool, which I think was have been involved in developing games for the system. Unfortunately, it's hard to obtain. For some reason, I want to play around with the PS2 development tools. Badly. Not sure why. This has led me to wonder if maybe it's possible to create your own through combining a modified PS2 system with a modified Pentium II 266 or Celeron 566 system. It would be difficult, if it's even possible. I know the PS2 Tool had a lot of manuals that explained the PS2's hardware in detail, and I would love to read them. I wonder who has actually created homebrew games for the PS2. Not PS2 Linux games, actual PS2 games, like the big name titles. I wonder if it's possible to use a PS2 Tool or modified PS2 in conjunction with a computer to develop games, even simple ones. I don't know what kinds of answers I'm looking. I want serious details of the system, because I'm just so bloody curious, and I can't help it. I know it sounds weird. I am weird.

Help! I'm not sure if I should switch to PS4 or keep my Xbox One (and maybe get a PC). I want PS4 because: (1) PS4 has better graphics, (2) Rocket League, (3) It's COD and Destiny's preferred platform, (4) I have friends on PS4. I might keep Xbox One because (1) I already have games and Xbox Live on it, (2) Kerbal Space Program, (3) Cities: Skylines, and (4) because I have more friends on Xbox One. I've thought about just getting both, but I can't afford it. I only have $350, so a PC (with 6% tax) would probably be no competition for the PS4 (or the Xbox One, for that matter); also, the (all-in-one with an Intel Pentium G2030T) PC I already have can play a lot of the games I want to play, with the exception of Rocket League, Cities: Skylines, and Kerbal Space Program. Thanks for any help!

I don't know where to post this. I think it's a news rather than deal. So I posted here. Sony PlayStation TV just for $19! Now people be like "Take my money". Atleast me! While you can pick up a PlayStation TV on Amazon for just $37.49, Sony is selling them direct through the online Sony Store for just $19.99 If you want DualShock 3 controller and Lego bundle, then it's $39.99. You get 8 gig memory card too! Also available at Sony Store only. Also idk if the price is permanent or not. Source: Geek.com. LEGO bundle with Controller on Sony Store, PS TV only on Sony Store.

Not long ago, I got a PS3 to add to my small video game console collection, mainly because it was cheap and I wanted to play Gran Turismo. It's a model from I believe 2009, so it does not have any backwards compatibility with PS2 games. It's not a big deal, because our PS2 system is completely functional. I'm curious about playing PS2 games on the backwards compatible PS3 systems. Would the output video quality of the PS2 games be higher quality, as long as it is used with an HDMI cable? Would PS2 games that support HD (Like Gran Turismo 4) play in HD?

If PSN came to PC that allows you to download all there exclusive Titles like "God of War, Infamous" and etc would you still keep your console?. Reason I ask because Xbox Live is coming to PC with will allow you download all there exclusive like "Sunset overdrive" With Xbot fans are still upset it going be free maybe Sony Ponies will probably get the same reaction lol but I die rest. But personally I don't care about which console is better or etc or how much they sold as long I got one I'm happy. I see this a perfect chance for Sony to make even more money and which you have to use there program (Free) to use to download there exclusive titles. I see there a petition to get Bloodborne (PS4 exclusive) to PC the pretition has 29K signature (Time of writting this) on change.org but developer on Twitter wrote "Bloodborne is staying a PS4 exclusive". Honestly I'm getting tired of playing on my console everything seems to bug me now, I think you guys probably have the same effect when playing on PC for so long. I'm still upset that I got to pay Sony/Microsoft for money when I'm not using there servers to connect to play a current game like "Destiny" for example. I hope Destiny comes to PC and hope I can carry over my progression to PC personally I love Destiny. But main question will be will you still Keep your console if PSN comes to PC? If so why? Bloodborne Petition https://www.change.org/p/from-software-release-bloodborne-for-the-personalized-computing-platform
