Need Help. I tried to install a global rom version of a Redmi note 7 pro and the first time i installed it succeeded. but during the first boot, it was on the redmi logo for a while, after it restarted, it went straight to twrp recovery. when i check the internal storage, all i can see was a bunch folders with randon names. the thing is i forgot to make a backup before installing the rom on twrp. now i did a format data, installed the ROM again and this time it just went straight into twrp. is there a workaround for this? Thanks in advance

So I have an LG v30 and I'm using a cheap case and I recently started gaming on my phone. If I'm using the case my phone runs significantly hotter which I know is bad for the battery and maybe other components I'd I'm gaming long enough especially if I'm charging. So I don't know if that's my case, but I can't afford to go around buying cases and test so I think an investigation is in order maybe. Or if I'm missing some kind of in your face general knowledge someone tell me please.

Hello all! I literally just made this account to post on here in the hopes of getting some assistance with this, because I'm having a lot of trouble doing research on phones. I'm not really a big user of my phone right now, mostly just using it to take some pictures every once in a while, and mostly text messages with a few phone calls a year. So I'm just going to put a check-list of the features that I'd like to see on the phone, as I don't really know what else to put! Any questions I'll happily answer, and any assistance is greatly appreciated! -16:9 screen ratio (not super important, honestly, just a preference) -No notch or hole-punch! I can't stand 'em! -Headphone jack (my car is fairly old as well, still use a headphone jack to plug in) -THICC boi. I use an otterbox on my phone that makes it about 1-1.5cm thick, and gives it a nice grip in my hands. -Priced under/around USD$400 -Not super tall. I don't really like the new fablet phones, I like one that fits nicely in the hand and gives me access to the whole screen with my thumb. -Fairly decent camera with the option for a quick-open feature (the MAXX lets me just twist the phone to open the camera). And I'm not talkin' anything major, just somethin' that at least matches the 10MP on my MAXX. -Android phone, for sure. Not really big on Apple products. That's about all I can think of for now. Thanks again for anyone who stops by to give this a read! Any assistance with this would help a ton. ~Kal

Summary A couple of hours ago, Google announced three new Pixel phones. The first one, the Pixel 4a, has been widely talked about over the last few days. The other two, the Pixel 4a 5g and Pixel 5, have had some rumors over the past few days. The Pixel 4a will retail for only $350! It is available for preorder now and the shipping date is August 20th. The tech specs are as follows: 5.8" oled screen 3140mAh Battery (around 9 hours) 6gb LPDDR4x Ram 128gb Storage Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 Processor 12.2 MP Rear Camera 1.4 μm pixel width Autofocus with dual pixel phase detection Optical + electronic image stabilization ƒ/1.7 aperture 77° field of view Supported Video 1080p @ 30, 60, 120 720p @ 30, 60, 240 4k @ 30fps 8 MP Front Camera 1.2 μm pixel width Fixed Focus ƒ/2.0 aperture 84° field of view Supported Video 1080p @ 30 720p @ 30 480p @ 30 Fingerprint Sensor on the Back 18W Fast Charging USB C Charging Port Headphone Jack More Available Here Google also announced the Pixel 4a 5g and Pixel 5 today. The only information given was that the Pixel 4a 5g will start at $500 and they are coming soon. Both are shipping this fall. The consensus seems to be that it is a great all-around phone that is recommend for those going for phones in this price range. Quotes My thoughts I think this is an awesome phone. For the price, you are not getting the best specs, but it seems to be worth every cent. Especially since one of its main competitors, the One Plus Nord, is not available in much of the world, I think this will be a very successful phone. Hi! I used my sennheiser cx 2.0G for a year now. Recenatly they broke. Right ear phone just didnt work and the wires came out of isolation. How can i fix it at home? I saw people doing it on youtube but they do it with minijack and not with earphone it self and there are 4 wires from where the right and left earphone splits into 2 cables. And from ripped earphone there are only 2 wires. There was a mic and all of that control panel so i guess it was connected to it but how do i do it now? If it dosnt work then i will just buy a new ones but i wanna try. Thanks for help

Hi, I really don't know what's going on with my phone. A few days ago, I've had problems with some adware pop-ups in Chrome which I couldn't close (always opened themselves again when I tried to kill them in the task manager). My phone started overheating. Even in idle it reached more than 70°C. According to the CPU-Z app only the "therm_zones" are that hot, the battery is actually cool at 30 to 40°C. I've used some removal apps and they found two malicious files. I don't remember the exact names but one of them was called something like "Android.PUP....." and the other one was "Android.Ad.Screen...." I thought that's it, just some stupid adware and it's gone. I was wrong. No matter how many times I restarted the phone it didn't cool down or got hot again after a break. Only when it's locked and not doing anything it will stay cool. As soon as I unlock it and e.g. read something in a browser or watch a YouTube video it gets really hot. So I decided to reset the phone. I've tried a factory reset in the settings, a hard reset in the Android bootmenu (wipe data factory reset). It just didn't help. My phone still gets that hot. So I've tried another factory reset. It didn't help. I've never restored any backups of course. I've also looked at the running services in the developer options but there's nothing suspicious. I'm pretty sure it's not physically damaged or anything else, since nothing like dropping that could've damaged it happened and the overheating problem started almost exactly after removing these two weird files. But I really don't get why it's still happening after multiple factory resets (which even reinstalls Android as far as I know). The phone can be used now but I'm worried about the temps and it's almost too hot to touch while using it, even with a thick cover.

For the past few years I've been using the Oneplus X. Gets medium usage every day, including Youtube and web browsing. It was a great phone to begin with and probably couldn't beat it for the price. However since then it has been getting very slow, apps are crashing all the time and the battery life has become rubbish. I've began to miss the stability of Apple's IOS and will be getting a mac for uni so i was thinking about swapping to iPhone again. Can anyone recommend what iPhone to get in 2018? Unlocked is a must and i don't mind buying second hand. Under 400euros would be great too. Cheers,

Title really says it all. I could really need a new phone now. Should I buy the 6 or wait for the 6T?

A friend of mine is worried that her old phone's virus will get carried over to her new phone if she transfers the files. Is this something that can happen on mobile phones? And is it best to transfer the files using a USB and adapter or SD card or via a cloud storage solution like Google Drive or Mega? Is there an online cloud storage app that checks files for viruses as they upload/download?

An article over on PCWorld looks at why you may or may not be able to easily use your third party USB-C headset or dongles with your new phone. A big part of this problem arises from whether the phone has/is using a built in DAC or not. What this leads to is that some dongles will work across a range of devices while others won't and the same with the headset. Another issue comes from a lack of uniformity across devices. https://www.pcworld.com/article/3284186/mobile/bring-back-the-headphone-jack-why-usb-c-audio-still-doesnt-work.html While I can understand the want to consolidate the number of ports on a device for issues such as IP rating and convenience. It either needs to be implemented in a standardized fashion or just bring back the 3.5 mm port.

I posted a thread asking for advice on which phone I should choose, out of all the phones that fit my budget the 2 that seem to be the best for their price and that fit my phone needs are the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite and the Huawei Mate 10 Lite. They're quite close, I've heard and read more positive comments on the 2 than negative, but I still have to choose 1. So far the pros compared to each other: A2 Lite: - Better support for the slightly better(?) CPU (SD 625 vs Kirin 659) - Higher pixel density (432ppi vs 403ppi) - Bigger battery (4000mah vs 3340mah) (important) - Dedicated SD card slot (dual sim + SD card vs sim card + hybrid slot) (important) - Android One (already has 8.1 and on time updates) Mate 10 Lite: - Better display (AMOLED vs IPS LCD) - Better camera (16+2MP vs 12+5MP) (or is it not much of a difference? I don't know how much the secondary camera affects the quality of depth perception) - Huawei ROM ? (I never had experience with Huawei, I find a clean Android great but I don't know if Huawei offers something that's worth buying their phone over another?) - Quality ? (again, never had a Huawei, but I've heard at least for their "10" series that it's great quality overall, yet I'm not sure if I can count this as a pro since people say Xiaomi's quality is just as good as any other at this price point) But the price difference...: - Xiaomi A2 Lite: 185 euros / $220 - Huawei Mate 10 Lite: 220 euros / $260 I'm still leaning towards the A2 Lite for the bigger battery, dedicated SD slot and Android One, but as I said the Mate 10 Lite seems like a solid choice as well though for $40 more I'm not sure that it's really worth it, still I'm here to hear other's opinions. Thanks in advance

Good afternoon, I ran into an interesting problem today. I have an MSI laptop thats has an RGB keyboard and this can be controlled via the Dragon center on my laptop app and on the phone app and the phone app use only WiFi connection which does work nomally. Today I tried to play songs on spotify with my phone that is connected to the laptop and I wanted the keyboard to change its RGB pattern. So I connect the Spotify app on my phone and my laptop starts playing music and when I accessed the dragon app it could not connect to my laptop and vice versa. So why cant I connect both apps at the same time through wifi? I am not upset about this but just curious if someone knows why

Why do you think the modular phones never really took off. It was a great concept idea but nobody actually ever invested the amount of time or money into It. How come this happened?

My LG G4 just died and I don't want to buy another phone from my carrier because they're really expensive. The problem is every phone I find says it's only compatible with "GSM" providers. I looked up the G4 and it also said the same thing so what the heck? Same with pretty much every new phone (they all say GSM and not CDMA). Is there anywhere that has phones that are CDMA compatible? Thanks for your help

So, I was watching Austins' video on why the iPhone 8 exists when there's the iPhone 10, and it got me thinking... After cramming so much into the X, face unlock, animoji, wireless charging, etc, What do you guys think the next phone will be like if there even is one? And if not that then, Where do you see Apple in the future. I ask because I can't comprehend what's next for their products and itself as a company.

My HTC m8s phone's frame is slightly bent and it is really scratched. I am looking for an aluminum frame (housing, body or battery cover, whatever you want to call it), and i was wondering if i could use the HTC M8 frame on it. Are there any differences in sizes, i looked at a spec comparison and they have exactly the same screen, but there is like a 0.1% screen to body ratio difference. Thanks
