Hi everyone, Today I tried to do usual video editing, and I noticed that I did not have a hardware acceleration option when I wanted to render the video. I tried to find out what has happened, so in furmark, I get an error that says "your GPU does not support OpenGL", same happens in cinebench GPU test. When I tried to launch League of Legends, game launcher worked fine, but I was not able to launch the game itself. I am connecting to this pc trough RDC, I can see that it gives some workload to the GPU(at least that is what task manager shows). I am puzzled. Is there something I can do? Here is the information about the system and what I have tried. GPU: GTX 1080Ti, 11GB of VRAM, no overclock CPU: Ryzen 1700x no overclock Motherboard: ASRock AB350PRO4, original BIOS RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16GB 2400MHz DDR4 CL16 UDIMM BLS16G4D240FSB PSU: Be Quiet 1000w version Operating System & Version: Windows 10 with the latest update GPU Drivers: 422.17 clean install Description of Problem: Each time I want to use any application that requires OpenGL I get a message that my GPU does not support it. I see some GPU activity when I RDC to the machine as it is working on rendering the screen. Troubleshooting: I have tried to uninstall the GPU trough device manage, installed the latest drivers, it did not work, sill have the same issue. No idea what I can do to fix it. I installed League of Legends to check if I can launch the game. It managed to launch the game launcher, but failed to launch the game itself(got a message about an unresponsive process.) Thanks

Hello ive spent a long amount of time trying to figure out why my shader wont compile. It should draw the triangle, but not how it is now. Im just starting in openGL. This has me completely stumped. Thanks for the time of whoever understands this stuff, i know its probably less common. Console and window Shader in GLSL AddShader() CompileShaders() The whole program is still under 200 lines, i can post it if needed.

I recently brought a new laptop (Dell Vostro 3578) and the dedicated graphics card is having issues. Whenever I try to run Minecraft by disabling Intel UHD graphics from device manager and running Minecraft on Radeon 520 graphics, it gives me an error saying "Graphics driver do not support OpenGL". Similarly when I play Fifa 18, it stutters a lot in the starting and then crashes. However both these games run absolutely fine on integrated graphics. I have tried installing latest and also old graphics drivers from AMD's site, Dell's site and also from a third party site. However the problem is not getting fixed. Processor - Intel Core i5-8250U 8th gen RAM - 8GB Graphics Card - AMD Radeon 520

When I run the opengl test I get an 88.1% reference match and fail the test. I have an AMD FX 6300 @ 4569.5 MHz (18.5 x 247 MHz) and an XFX RS RX 570 Black Edition. I recently reinstalled Windows to see if that would clear up my issue of sometimes the gpu not actually running at speed. (it may be an amd overlay thing because i just tested gtav on normal settings and got mostly 38-45fps but it went to half when i enabled the overlay). I'll glady provide any additional info you may need to help out ^-^)b. Here are links to my userbench and cpuz benchmarks: UserBench CPU-Z

Hello, I recently upgraded from an old i7-4790k to a Ryzen 9 3900x. Ever since the upgrade, I've been experiencing a very strange issue with OpenGL. Basically, if a game is launched that uses OpenGL on any monitor besides my primary, the game will crash. This issue wasn't present with my old CPU, and games using DirectX 11, 12, and Vulkan run completely fine. The only components that were swapped out during the upgrade were my CPU, motherboard, and RAM. Everything else was reused from my i7-4790k build. Do Ryzen CPUs usually have issues running OpenGL games? Does anyone else have a 3900x and would be willing to see if they can replicate this issue? I'm curious if it's a problem with Ryzen in general, or if it's an issue that's unique to my system. Specs: AMD Ryzen 9 3900x Asus ROG x570 Crosshair VIII Hero G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2x16GB) NVIDIA GTX 1070 Windows 10 Pro x64 Any help would be very much appreciated! Been getting super frustrated with this issue...

Greetings, A friend of mine would like to play the game Divinity on Ubuntu. Unfortunately I'm not familiar at all with that OS. The min. requirements according to the game is OpenGL4. When she looks at her system it says "OpenGL version 3.0 Mesa 18.0.0-rc4". She checked and believes 18.0.0 to be the lastest version (well this was 1,5 months ago). She doesn't have a dedicated GPU but has en Intel Haswell CPU. I checked and in theory the CPU supports OpenGL4.3. Sure the gaming performance might be bad, but it should at least launch, right? So it should be a driver/software issue, maybe despite her efforts, something is not up to date? We would be grateful for any tips.

Opengl is not working properly after computer is on more than about 10-12 hours. It did not use to be doing this and restarting my computer this much is quite a hassle. The problem is that programs are unable to initialize opengl windows after a certain period of time (it feels like 10-14 hours or so) that my computer has been on. Windowed games will not open either, showing its a problem with actual initialization of the window since these programs run fine until it detects that it can't open the game window. Again, SPECIFICALLY OpenGL stuff seems to be impossible. Games will not load and will all give OpenGL errors, even minecraft will not play. I believe reddit's videos also break when this occurs and just display a green square with audio. This happens regardless if I update my nvidia drivers and the only fix I can find is restarting my computer. I have updated nvidia drivers several times since this started happening, and I can't remember when this exactly started happening as it has been a while. Specs that matter: Windows 10 64-bit GTX 770 (several years old) 16gb ram ddr3 i5-3570K @ 3.4ghz 1.5tb hdd And no, me leaving my computer on this long is not the issue. Computers can stay on as long as they need to be on without problems ideally. I've left my computer on and used it daily for a month straight without any issues, now after 8-12 hours it will break. My guess is a piece of hardware starting to fail but I am not getting any visual artifacts and this started months ago. Another theory is corrupted drivers on something so reformatting might fix it? This is weird.

Pretty big news that Apple is moving away from OpenGL API in favour of Metal for all apps. Will have massive implications for gaming on Apple devices and will probably come into effect in around two years: https://developer.apple.com/macos/whats-new/ https://www.pcgamer.com/developers-fear-for-mac-gaming-as-apple-deprecates-opengl-support/ If you're a game developer not using an off-the-shelf engine like Unity, this will make a massive difference to the workload involved in shipping to Apple devices, and probably mean a great deal for legacy games already on the platform. Edit: I should add, I'm a 3D Artist in a Games Studio, but my no means a Technical Programmer. I'm really just relaying info from the company's Tech Director sitting next to me as we discuss the changes in the office. So, am by no means the best person to speculate on the impact of these changes, but in lieu of another thread existing on the forum, I just thought I should spread the word.

A friend of mine just got a new PC, and told me that whenever he opens a specific game (Starbound), he gets a Fatal Exception Caught error that says OpenGL 2.0 not available. He told me he saw somewhere that some sort of HP driver causes this error, but I just can't find any info anywhere. Could anyone help me out here?

Hi there My Computer isn't willing to open CS:Go, CUE, Infinifactory and Liftoff. At least these are the programs which don't work at the moment. Maybe there are more. I've already researched the Problem concerning the CUE. There is already a thread on the Corsair Forum but I think the problem lies deeper. (http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=176209) That's the error I get when I try to start CUE. Regarding CUE, I've already: - restarted my computer - updated windows - updated my drivers (GPU and rest of the sytem) - reinstalled the program - checked that my settings are correct in the Nvidea Control Panel - tried to install older version of CUE The errors started to occure like this. I had CUE installed. It worked. At some point CUE informed me that a newer version was available. I installed it and afterwards the error above showed up. But as long as I had this error displayed the profiles would still load so I didn't think about it. As I wanted to creat a new profile about 1 week ago, I noticed that CUE only displayed this error when I tried to start it. I thought previeusly that this was an error that would always show up as you try to launch the program and you could still use the program. Clearly I was wrong. (I had some similar errors on my mac with different software. It would give me an error when I try to launch the application but when I tried to launch the application again, it would work flawlesly.) I looked up the error on google and did some things which were recommended in several forums. I checked my drivers and installed the newest version (with Live update), I updated Windows. These steps didn't work. Then I went to Nvidea to download the latest drivers for the GPU, but installing those didn't work eather. Now the condition of CUE got worse. It didn't load the profiles correctly. To load the profiles I had to close and reopen CUE. That was last Friday. That evening I also played CS:GO. But the next day CS:Go didn't work anymore. According to Steam CS:GO was already running. I couldn't uninstall it. I couldn't find it in the Taskmanager eather. In the article on Steam concerning Programs which seam to be running it said it could be an other user on the computer who has CS:GO launched. This is impossible in my case as I'm the only user of this PC. After restarting the computer I was able to uninstall and reinstall CS:GO But the Error still showed up. After this error I checked every game I had. Liftoff and Infinifactory would show me this error [Error Message] and didn't start thought Transport Fever and Fortnite still work. I tried to reinstall the drivers several times on both the graphics aswell as the system side. But nothing worked. Yesterday CUE stopped working completly. No profiles would load. Error Message: Failed to initialize Direct3D. Make sure you have at least DirectX 9.0c installed, have drivers for your graphics card and have not disabled 3D acceleration in display settings. InitializeEngineGraphics failed Well this leads me to this post. As both errors seam to be graphics related I assume it is somehow related to the Drivers. Hey guys, about 4 days ago I was having a issue where every single game I tried to play crashed within 10 seconds of starting. I thought that it could have been my drivers so I installed them again and still had the same issue. After that failed I figured I would try a clean install of the drivers, so I used AMD's Clean uninstall utility and removed all of the drivers. Then I reinstalled the drivers (turned off anti virus during install) and still had the same problem. After a TON of trouble shooting I found out that it was a program called plays.tv that was causing the crashs. Ever since I used the clean install utility I have been unable to open the RadeonSettings and have been getting an error that says "failed to create OpenGL context (see pic below)" I have searched all over and cannot find a fix. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks for your time. CPU: FX-8350 GPU: R9 290 MSI Gaming Edition

if you are not aware, id has updated DOOM Demo with support for the Vulkan API https://steamcommunity.com/games/379720/announcements/detail/868451566755736093 my system CPU: i5 6500 RAM: 16GB DDR4 Video card: GigaByte GTX970 G1 OS: W10 x64 nVidia driver set: 368.81 1080p at ultra quality settings preset I used PresentMon to record framerate - PresentMon doesn't directly show framerate but using this formula will FPS=1000/MsBetweenPresents the data recording was done right after you grab the shotgun and throughout the room up until the door unlocks I wanted to do the outside area too, but the sheer amount of data PresentMon gathers makes my head hurt, maybe another time so, what I'm seeing is that Vulkan and OpenGL renders perform about the same, with the slight difference of higher framerate at the start of the section when staring at the door and the hell imp screaming at you - except that, there's not a very big difference the next bit is the interesting one, CPU usage - kinda' of a odd ball the interesting part in CPU usage is that with OpenGL we see a constant lower usage it starts at about 10% difference and gets lower to about 5% - but OpenGL seems to hit the CPU less than Vulkan render does I will retests the CPU usage to be certain something interfered with my testing I will also try to do same testing on my Radeon HD86xxM powered laptop, if the drivers don't throw shit at me like they usually do will update as soon as I have some meaningful new data --- took a 2nd look at the CPU usage this time I played throughout the entire demo: the trend line seems to smooth out throughout gameplay

I'm looking at the 320$ gigabyte amd r9390 windforce or a gtx 970 for the same price, but I don't know which is better for minecraft, and generally in terms of every game which is better gigabyte R9390 Windforce, or GTX 970 G1 gaming (they're the same price) also if ther's any other gpu's you'd recommend for under 320$ that are recent chips

So i watching videos on how to run ATI and Nvidia GPUs in the same PC. Before building my PC i was determined to buy the GTX 970. But then the 1070 arrived and i thought it'll be just better to wait and use a used GPU as it was the only component remaining in my build. So i opted for a used ATI 7870 which i got for $108. Just to be clear i mainly concerned about using software applications like AutoCAD, 3DS Max, Adobe Photoshop, Google SketchUp+Vray. I don't wanna bother myself about the advantages of Physx in Arkham City. So keeping that in mind, is there any benefit of using Nvidia and ATI together, ATI as i primary card and Nvidia as a physx card. Are there any other benefits i can take from using them together for work purposes? Also i watched a few videos about Hybrid PhysX but they are basically concentrated towards gaming. Note: If this set up still works i will opt for a used Nvidia card, again. links: http://physxinfo.com/wiki/Hybrid_PhysX http://www.ngohq.com/graphic-cards/17706-hybrid-physx-mod-v1-03-v1-05ff.html

I am having this issue. On my Win 10 machine which is ~5 years old (when I first got the laptop it was running Win 7), when I try and run my Java code, I get org.lwjgl.LWJGLException: Pixel format not accelerated but when I run it on the MacBook Air it runs fine. I don't know how to make it work on my main computer which I find better than the MacBook. Also, I hypothesis that it's because I do not have the latest OpenGL on my computer.

Does anyone know how to import an image into an OpenGL project C++? I know how to produce texture but I want to import my own... void Draw() { glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT); glColor3f(1.0, 1.0, 1.0); glBegin(GL_LINES); glVertex3f(0.25, 0.25, 0.0); glVertex3f(0.75, 0.75, 0.0); glEnd(); glFlush(); } void Initialize() { glClearColor(0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0); glMatrixMode(GL_PROJECTION); glLoadIdentity(); glOrtho(0.0, 1.0, 0.0, 1.0, -1.0, 1.0); } int main(int iArgc, char** cppArgv) { glutInit(&iArgc, cppArgv); glutInitDisplayMode(GLUT_SINGLE | GLUT_RGB); glutInitWindowSize(250, 250); glutInitWindowPosition(200, 200); glutCreateWindow("Test"); Initialize(); glutDisplayFunc(Draw); glutMainLoop(); return 0; }

After installing Windows 10, I started to notice some issues with Open GL not working on some games. This makes games like Counter Strike drop frames from 90fps to 24fps. Does anyone have any solution to re enable Open GL on Windows 10

I am looking for a graphics card that is compatible with OpenGL 3.0 (required to run Sony spectralayers). I have a Dell computer with an available x16 PCIe slot. Nvidia lists a TON of graphics cards which support it on their website and I started to research them individually, but I don't even know what to look for. My monitor only has a vga and DVI port. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Catalyst 15.7 is still a fail! I looked up on AMDs page and they do not support 15.04 version of Ubuntu, but they do support 14.04 so I will send Penguin Recordings a tip about it tomorrow...

Does any one know of a benchmark or stress test that will allow me to choose different APIs to run the test with? I'd love to see the difference between DX9 and OpenGL and Mantle.
