I've tried every other forum and Oculus support, but found nothing helpful, so I'm giving this forum a shot. Long story short, I've run into numerous points where the system would stop tracking my controllers when I'm in-game. I could still rotate my digital hands in any direction, but my system can't track my head movements and my controllers stick to the point they were at when the tracking was lost. I don't know what else to try. I've tried everything I could possibly find online in forums and tutorials. I bought my Oculus Rift S back in August, and it *IMMEDIATELY* bugged out on me by losing tracking in both controllers after about 30 or so minutes of playing. I returned the first one and got a replacement, hoping that all I had was a defective unit. Come to find out, a week into using the new model: History repeated itself and I was faced with immediate tracking issues. The pass-through mode was only static, tipping me off to the issue being with my USB ports on my PC. I got a PCI powered and non-powered expansion card, but that didn't fix the issue. So a failed fix, and $65 later, I tried the typical "turn off power limiting settings in Windows" trick. Nothing. My PC is up to date, Nvidia drivers installed and updated, power management set to "f*ck you PC, you're my slave: DO WHAT I SAY"... And nothing is fixed. I'm about 4 days away from returning this POS to the Best Buy I got it from, and giving up on VR. I had such high hopes for it, hearing about it from colleagues and friends who had it. Unfortunately, this has brought me to the point where I'm debating on whether or not to actually just full-on DESTROY the thing out of rage. Has anyone else had the same issue in the past? Oculus claims its a firmware issue, but I find that very hard to believe. It's not NEW, so it shouldn't bug out as often as it does! I've got to say, in my 23 years on this planet, I've never been so disappointed and rage-filled over anything else tech-related in my life.

Hi, i've been looking lately at the different vr headset options and I've stumbled on a question I didn't found any answer on Google. How is the Oculus quest able to play games like beat saber, super Hot, or even the next Half life listed as compatible, while running on an Android system with an Arm processor. In the meantime the Oculus go is seen by everyone as the cheap, not powerful, vr headset, while it's using Android too, with a snapdragon 821, that is just slightly less powerful than the 835 of the quest. So why the Go doest support any of those games and just ''small'' experiences (that looks very bad in term of graphics quality)? . Am I missing something ? Is the Quest Streaming the games or something? Thanks.

The moment has come, I finally can comfortably afford a Vr headset. The problem is that the Vr scene now is tricky. I do have a powerfull computer so the "quest" and the "go" are no options for me. Then there are the Index and the Oculus Rift S. And considering the index is 1.000$ (600 more than the Rift S) the rift comes, all in all, in a very sweet spot for me to take a decision. Is, right now, the best Pc-Powered Vr for the price.... BUT! And this is the reason that I make the post. This is not my first rodeo when it comes to buy techonology. And I have a bit of a sixth sense to feel when a product is a bit out of the market. Facebook did not talk about it in their last meeting, it came a bit long ago so maybe something new is coming for the same price?... Yada yada yda. Anyhow. Would you go for it consdiering I´ve been waiting for this moment really long or would you wait cause, in fact, theres something better around the corner? Thanks!

which one is more recommended to get the Oculus Quest in the 64GB version or the 128GB one ?

Today, I became very happy as my brand new Rift got here, only to then realize that there's this big bed that's mine that's in the middle of the room that I have zero clue how to manage. My room is currently the only play space as I live in a small apartment, so if any of you have ideas on how to manage a large obstruction in VR or know a way I could minimise the footprint of it, please let me know.

Oculus has announced the upcoming launch of the Oculus Quest standalone VR headset, based on the Santa Cruz devkit. The headset will cost $399 and launch in spring 2019, boasting inside-out tracking, dual 1600x1440 screens with adjustable IPD, integrated audio, and two controllers derived from the Touch controllers for the Rift headset. As the headset uses an ARM-based SOC and OS, content for Rift won't directly work on Quest, but a number of high-profile titles will already be ported at launch. Oculus is promising a launch library of 50+ titles. The launch of Oculus Quest will complete Oculus' three-prong strategy for VR, with a PC-tethered headset at the high end (Rift), cheap and less gaming-oriented standalone at the low end (Go), and Quest providing an in-between option with the high-end capabilities of Rift combined with the practical benefits of standalone at a moderate price point. The $399 price point is the biggest news here. Some were afraid Santa Cruz would end up costing $699 or more, but with $399 Oculus is pushing into an much more affordable price range. This could really boost VR adoption, and without it being a stripped-down version of VR like the Oculus Go headset (or most other mobile VR solutions to date). Source: Oculus.com

Would you rather oculus rift on its minimum specs (1050ti and i3-6100) or rather an Oculus Quest? Just curious (Explain your arguments!)

I recently got an oculus rift. When it's plugged in and the oculus app is running, my internet speed dives down from 25/5 to around 3/5. Im thinking it could be because i have a 500 watt psu with a gtx 1070 ti and the rift may be taking too much power. This could be the case since my wifi is running through a usb dongle. Is there any way to check if this is the case? Or do you have any other ideas of what could be the problem? Thanks in advance

This the fix I found for the latest version of this issue which none of the usual troubleshooting steps would solve: .Go to your BIOS. .Go to the BOOT menu. .Find a the USB setting "partial initialization" and change it to "full initialization". .Now when you get back to windows, it'll may still have a yellow warning over "generic superspeed USB hub" in device manager. .If so, restart your computer. .Now if you watch it in device manager, the warning should go away on it's own after a few minutes. The warning should be completely gone and so should all of the issues no matter how many times you restart. Note: *Names and locations in the BIOS for this setting likely vary by motherboard manufacturer. My instructions are based on an ASUS board.

Hi All, So basically, I plan to develop an environment for a college project, and want to make it into a VR experience. I've had experience with Google Daydream and such and want to move into the HTC and Oculus world. Which do you think is better? Oculus Rift or HTC Vive? I plan to build the world in Unity. I know its pretty simple to set it up in Unity (cameras and controls), but I'm not 100% sure quality wise which is better? I'm not to crazy about the controllers on the Oculus Rift.. They're kind of weird.. But in any case, has anybody had any experience with either? Which is better? Cheers, Steve

So since the latest update, when i plug my link cable into my quest it no longer asks me if i want to allow my pc to access the quest. It used to be that it would ask if you wanted to enable the oculus link beta first and then if you chose "deny" it would ask about allowing the pc to connect. It no longer does this and i cant find anything on how to connect it to my PC to transfer files. My quest is up to date, my oculus app on my pc is up to date, the cable is working as i can play games through the link. Anyone know how to connect it as a drive since the update?

Hi guys! I didn't find a dedicated section for VR, so I think the next best is peripherals. I bought a Rift S, that is waiting for me in Miami, a friend of mine is bringing it home (I'm from Argentina) and I'm planning where and how to deploy it. Thing is, I have a dedicated room as a desktop, where my pc and stuff is, but it isn't big enough to play, so I want to send the cables to my livingroom, and put a nice little box with Display Port and USB female, then plug my headset there. I'm telling you all this because I want your input in this idea, the cable between my pc and the male to female box should be no longer than 6m (Sorry, change to feet if needed, I don't do freedom units), and from there, the default cable lenght of the rift s, which I don't know about, but should be fine anyways. Do you have any pieces to recomend? Any cable brand? I have nothing but the headset and a hammer drill to drill the wall, I need to buy all the rest. Thanks in advance!

beat saber Oculus Rift S freezing and crashing beat saber
WarriorsMustang17 posted a topic in PC Gaming
Sometimes when playing beat saber, I get a lag spike, then I lose all audio, and the blocks stop moving. This isn't just a problem in beat saber (steam version). I've had it happen in other games too, some that are not steam vr or oculus. The only way to fix this is to restart oculus completely. I can go back into the game and everything is normal until it crashes again. In the video I have steam vr logs showing any errors, and the time of the error showing. Please, ANY ADVICE would be appreciated. This has been happening since I got the headset in January and have been trying to sove it since. I am going mad over this stupid issue. Oculus_freezing.mp4 -
Summary Facebook stops the sale of Oculus devices in Germany and claims that its because they are talking to German regalatory bodies. Both the Data protection Agency and the Anti Trust Agency deny talks. Its unclear wether they are pressured by a german agency, its anticipatory obedience or purely out of spite. The Hamburg data protection officer(HmbBfDI), after being asked by "heise.de" voices doubts on the legality of the recent moves by Facebook, especially for existing users. The Request for comment caused the HmbBfDI to pass this concern on to the European Data Protection Supervisor (I assume). My thoughts It will be interresting to see whats to come especially as the problems lie within the realm of the GDPR thus are valid in the whole European Union. However Facebook is under the Irish data protection agency wich is quite lenient when it comes to facebook. I have started a project where I am trying to make my oculus rift wireless as cheap as possible. I have gotten the usb working and have moved over to HDMI. Looked at using oculus mirror to get the image that is being set to the headset and then stream it to my laptop to be outputted on my laptops HDMI and work on latency once I get the stream working. Once I unplug my headset from my desktop the oculus client says the HDMI us disconnected and stops outputting to oculus mirror. Any ideas to get the headset feed to another computer at full resolution and frame rate at a low cost would be greatly appreciated.

I have Lenovo Explorer which worked fine on my old 3770K / 980ti rig, But now that I built a new main right with a Ryzen 9 3900X / 2080ti I was looking into an upgrade. The only problem is my living arrangements make "lighthouses" problematic so I was looking to stay with Inside out tracking for the time being. I like my Explorer but some little things are starting to bug me like some what lacking support from game devs and the limited controller tracking zone making games that need to draw things from your back or sides a bit of a buggy mess. So I was looking at the Rift S, but at almost $500/usd atm is it worth replacing my Explorer with one? I have been hearing that Oculus has been kind of sweeping the S under the rug in terms of support and software improvements

Hi, So my name is Ollie and I'm 14, soon to be 15 on the 15th of august. Basically, in short, i got a job in February and built myself a PC with a Ryzen 7 3700x and a 2070s and 16gb of RAM at the start of lockdown in the UK. I was looking at Oculus Rifts for my birthday and they are way too expensive for the budget that my birthday will allow me! So i hopped onto eBay and was surprised to see all these rifts called "CV1" for sale for around the £150+ mark! These seem really good value to a VR noob like me that knows NOTHING about VR. Now i have been told that they can have a whole ton of issues that you can't just see from photos on eBay. Also is there some sought of a problem with the CV1 unit because there are loads for sale even with controllers. I will leave a link to one of the many eBay listings so you can see for yourselves what I'm talking about: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Oculus-Rift-Virtual-Reality-Headset-With-Two-Sensors-And-Two-Touch-Controlers/143677769496?epid=831392616&hash=item2173dcc718:g:91oAAOSwcQNfLsTS Now I'm not very experienced with VR at all so feel free to call me an idiot in the comments below if i am saying completely the wrong stuff. This is just what i understand at the moment: For VR you need obviously a PC, a Headset, Controllers and these sought of camera things that get your location? So how many of the camera things do i need for good tracking? (Sorry for the long post!) So these are all my questions: Will my PC run VR decently demanding VR games? 2. Should i buy secondhand, if so what am i checking for to make sure the unit is fine? 3. What headset do you recommend to buy secondhand? 4. What are the advantages of a "new" Rift s over older models? (I don't mind saving longer for a new one be honest!) 5. How much space in my room do i need for the vast majority of games? 6. Does VR have a good game library, is it worth it? (I don't mind different genres except for really scary horror) 7. Is there going to be a new rift soon, Should i wait a couple of months for the newer model? 8. What is the average VR game price? 9. What extra things do i need to get up and running? (camera's, controllers?) (A new Rift s comes with controllers but what about the camera things) In England, I will be having examinations at around the late spring next year so i won't be able to use it much before then so i really don't mind waiting until summer 2021 will a new model be out by then? Again I don't know how frequently they come out so maybe a new one will be out by then? Finally, if anyone replies to this, I would like to say a massive thank you to you as I am clearly incompetent and really need help in my understanding of this product category. This is my first time on the forum so if I have done ANYTHING wrong do not hesitate to tell me off! Many thanks once again, Ollie

I was wondering if it is a good idea to buy a rift (or maybe a vive) this black friday? Would there be a good deal on eather headset and is there going to be another PC rift (not standalone) headset any time soon? Thanks in advance for the responses.

Hellow everyone i am trying to get into vr, and i was wondering should i get teh oculus rift, or the htc vive or vive pro because the regular vive seems to be out of stock everywhere. I am looking for a very good vr experience with games such as beat saber, minecraft, and war thunder being some of the main games i will be playing.

So here is my dilemma, I have a nice VR capable rig but do not own any VR equipment. Which is better, an Oculus Rift or an HTC Vive (Pro)? Would it be more fun to just buy a Nintendo Switch instead? I do not have the space for a full VR room experience and would use either while seated. Are there any fun (non gimmicky) games? I dont want to buy a VR headset and a Switch, but want to choose one... I know its like comparing Apples ? to pizza ? at this point but I'd like to hear/read some thoughts
