Hello, so I've had an old asus z270e + i5 6600k lying around for a while now and finally got round to selling it but when removing it around 10 months ago now I never reset the OC, do you think these OC settings would've cleared by now or am I going to have to pull out my current mobo and put the old one in to set it back to default? I've read that as my motherboard has been disconnect from the PSU for so long the battery button should've drained and that'll clear the settings, however I have no idea how credible this is? any help welcome, cheers.

Hey all I startede playing with RAM OC and seem to be stuck with worse results VS XMP. The thing that confuses is my Aida64 test are better with my 3900MHz OC vs 3200 14-14-14-34 XMP. However when i test in Cinebench R20 my score is lower. See attached picture for timings. I'm running 1.408Vmem, 1.2 SA and IO, 47x Uncore, 5GHz on a 8700k. I tested it stabil with HCI memtest up to 450% and Prime95 large FFT's for one hour. Aida64 XMP: Read: 47550, 47540, 47488 Write: 46600, 46696, 46452 Latancy: 42.9, 42.8, 42.9 3900Mhz OC: 3900 16-17-17-35 mode 1 6-6-24 RFC: 313 stabil Read: 56509, 56165, 56310 Write: 57523, 58126, 57765 Latency: 42.0, 42.1, 42.0 Higher bandwith and lower latency yet my R20 is lower With XMP i get 3850 multicore and 517 singlecore points in R20 With 3900MHz i get 3804 multicore and 508 singlecore points in R20 Can anyone see where i go wrong? any help is appreciated.

So I got a EVGA GTX 1070 FTW2 recently, and while some things are still unclear (for example my warranty is only "206" days...) the card is pretty ok and as expected, *except* it basically doesn't OC at all... +50 core +400 memory, which is also kinda expected, except they have a second "overclocking BIOS" which is exactly the same, even if I raise power limit to the max the result is exactly the same, +50, +400. Raising the voltage, even just 1 point crashes the card in any benchmarks, even with the secondary "overclock BIOS"... So I think this is pretty clearly false advertising / mislabeling a product, and I'm wondering what are my options (also regarding the warranty) Basically should I return it to Amazon or to EVGA, and would EVGA even do anything, or should I just live with having a "overclock" card that doesn't overclock (well, barely)?

I installed A-Tuning but realized I didn't like it much and heard people had issues with their PCs because of it. I'm new to the PC and overclocking game so I want to make sure I'm not going to burn out my rig. I uninstalled the A-Tuning program so I just needed to know if by uninstalling it if it changed my settings back to what they were before I started screwing with it in the program. I changed it back and forth between the 3 settings and left it on the standard when I uninstalled it if that helps.

If I press on scan, it does nothing? Set everything to default (well except that wouldn't do much either, it's still using my custom fan curve, but that shouldn't necessarily matter) How do I get this to work? It doesn't make sense to me the "SCAN" button just does nothing? PS: "run as administrator" also doesn't help, no change

This is my first time overclocking and I have no idea what is the best settings . I used ryzen master to oc and this when things started getting complicated. I set my speed at 4.125 ghz and my voltage at 1.225 . I don't know WTF happened but it didn't crash !!!!!! I tried cenibench and fur mark to stress my cpu . But IT DIDN'T CRASH !!!! I need help . I don't know WTF is going on .........

We all know it's risky going over 2GHz GPU with Ampere. But what can be expected with Memory overclocks? I didn't realise until I install it that the 3070's Memory frequency is substanially less than the 3080's (7000MHz vs 9500MHz) Feel free to post your 3070 overclocks showing GPU and RAM frequencies. Here is mine on day one.

I’ve seen all the forms saying that overclocking will shorten the lifespan of the cpu, I understand. But I would like to know if when you overclock, and get new higher temperatures, than you take the oc off, will the overclock permanently affect temperatures, or will the temps go back too normal non oc temps. My brother has same cooler same cpu and his cpu is 20 degrees cooler and I don’t even have an overclock, though I did have an overclock before

So I have an ASUS H170 Pro Gaming board with I5-6600K. As you know I can't OC on this board but I saw an CPU_OV jumper on the board and I was wondering what is it for? I mean it is for overclocking but I can't overclock or can I? If I can't then what is it for? I don't get it.

Hi, My existing processor, motherboard and GPU are AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, Gigabyte X470 AORUS GAMING 5 WIFI and Nvidia GTX 970 respectively. My PSU is Thermaltake SMART RGB 500W. Recently I bought a G.SKILL Trident Z DDR4 3200 C16 1x16GB XMP enabled OC RAM for better experience in gaming. The issue is when I enable XMP profile 1 on my BIOS and boot to the windows and launch Mafia Definitive Edition, it suddenly crashes and sometimes it ends up causing a BSOD error. But if I don't enable the XMP profile on BIOS, my newly aquired RAM runs only at a lower speed as 2133Mhz. And the PC runs smoothly and the game Mafia Definitive Edition runs normally without having any issues. It now feels like I paid for a 3200Mhz RAM but getting only 2133Mhz frequency. I searced over Google and many other tech sites which gave me a clue that AMD Ryzen 7 2700X processor don't work well with XMP RAM profiles, and so it only works well with XMP profile disabled. Due to the above fact, I am willing to change my existing processor and motherboard setup. I am willing to get a "MSI B450 GAMING PLUS MAX AM4 AMD ATX Motherboard" and "AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Processor" in combination. Would this new combination work well with my G.SKILL Trident Z DDR4 3200 C16 1x16GB XMP enabled OC RAM and support flawlessly with the XMP profile enabled so that I can get the full 3200Mhz frequency out of my RAM without getting crashes and BSODs? For your information, I am a multitasker as well as a non-professional casual PC gamer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for you time and help. Regards, Saimon

Ok, so I've had a zotac amp 1060 since it pretty much came out but in the last year or 2 my screen would start turning off for a second and turn right back on. I have overclocked it in the past but nothing heavy and I didn't keep the overclock for long either. I have tried different cables so I know its not the cable and i put in a different gpu before and it wont do it with that gpu so I know the monitor is fine. any ideas what it could possibly be? Also when I turn off my pc and turn it back on it won't do it for awhile but once i start watching youtube or playing a game it starts happening about 15-20 min later

Hi there guys! I'm having some issues with my MB/RAM/CPU whatever is from the problem... These issues are there that long that I don't remember how much time it is, but the things is I'm trying to fix it and would love some help since I'm runnning out of ideas. First of all my setup: CPU i7 7820X GPU MSI RTX 2080TI Trio 11GB WC Corsair H115i Case Corsair Carbide 600Q Motherboard ASUS ROG Strix X299-E Gaming PSU EVGA Supernova G3 750W 80Plus Gold Mod. SSD Samsung 960 EVO NVMe M.2 SSD PCI-e 500GB RAM x2 G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4 4133 16GB x2 G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4 4266 16GB (Got these on QuadChannel) Performance is really decent, but I can't keep my ram above 2133 without getting problems after long time without using the computer... I mean, I turn off my computer when I'm going to sleep so that few hours after that my PC won't boot at all, I need to press "turn on" button to hard shutdown, again turn on, then It will turn on (without any OC at all) after that I just restart my computer then everything is applied accordingly. 4000 is working perfect and no problem at all. My BIOS is up to date, everything is up to date and this problem has been there with every version. If I want that extra performance I need to do this everytime I turn on my computer, so... I'm getting tired of it. I've been researching whole internet, most issues that I've searched are related to boot voltages. My BIOS manual has some boot voltages stuff for RAM, but unlucky me when I'm going into my BIOS these options are gone. I'm using advance mode, just in case someone will ask. I just OC'd CPU with no problems but when I change RAM Frequency its a mess. XMP it's just the same issue, everything RAM involved turns into next day cold boot being a total failure. I've tried sleep mode/hibernate but after few mins, seems like when I want to use my computer again it's stucked just like a cold boot. I mean, I've been like this 3 years, I'm thinking about change MB but before I want to try everything, because I've already tried stick by stick, and everything is the same problem. If you wonder why do I have 2 pairs of different RAM it's because 4133 are the old ones, and 4266 are the new ones, same CL19 19-19-19-36 (If I remember it properly) so that shouldn't be a problem. I'm really frustrated and would like some new ideas :( Sorry if I just write something wrong, first time talking about this and I'm not native. If someone reads this and wants more info just ask for it ^^

I'm encountering a weird situation with my mobo regarding memory clock & timing settings. I'm using an i7-6700K (4.5Ghz Core & Ring) on a MSI Z270 Gaming Plus mobo, with Kingston HyperX Savage DDR4 (KHX2133C13D4/8GX). I've always had the RAM's XMP profile enabled which work totally fine at the specified clock & timings (2133Mhz, 13, 13, 13, 36, 278). However, since the XMP profile is rated at only 1.2 volts, I came to think there might be some performance left on the table. (Yes I know that the CPU's mem controller only supports up to 2133Mhz, but getting the overal true latency of the RAM down could benefit performance quite well, especially in games.) TL;DR I'm trying to OC memory. But here's the thing; no matter what settings I set in the bios, when I boot into Windows the memory is always running at it's XMP specifications. Even when I have XMP turned off in the BIOS and manually put in a slower JEDEC profile which are supported according to the RAM sticks itself. It just doesn't matter how high or low I set any value, it just doesn't set any clock or timing setting... For example: If I set the memory settings to 2400Mhz @ 1.35v and reboot into BIOS, my BIOS shows that the DDR voltage is set to 1.35v, but that the memory clock speed is still set to 2133Mhz. However in Windows the memory is always just running at 1.2v regardless of the DDR voltage I manually put in. Does anyone have a clue as to what I'm doing wrong? Is there perhaps some setting which I need to enable in order to make custom settings work at all? I've tinkered with settings and been googling my ass off for about 6 hours now. Kinda hope I'm just being stupid and overlooking some obvious thing. Really hope anyone can help me out! (P.S. I've reset CMOS by taking out the battery for about 10 minutes, didn't solve it.)

Hello guys, i need help to run my memory module to the rated speed, my memory is https://www.gskill.com/product/165/326/1562839473/F4-3600C16D-32GTZNTrident-Z-NeoDDR4-3600MHz-CL16-16-16-36-1.35V32GB-(2x16GB) Gskill Trident Z NEO - 3600Mhz - CL16 - (2x16GB) F4-3600C16-32GTZN the rated speed on the module is 3600Mhz and i want to achieve that speed safely, can anyone tell me how to do that ? Motherboard : Asus TUF Gaming Plus x570 CPU : Ryzen 9 3900x i tried using Ryzen DRAM Calculator, but most of the tutorial out there is not what i need, i just need to run this on safely rated speed 3600Mhz CL16 and i don't want to shorten the lifespan on my memory so i decide to ask from this forum first before going to try it, could someone with experience help me ? thaaanksss

Hello everyone! I'm looking for people who have are using an overlocked 8700K, and more specifically, what VCore they're using and to achieve what clockspeed. So if you're an owner of the 8700K and are overclocking it, please do tell what VCore amount you're using, to achieve what clockspeed - also cooling and if any mods are used. Thanks

alright, so there is something weird going on with my CPU. first of all, relevant system specs: AMD Threadripper 1950X @3.75GH 1.175V G-Skill Trident Z Royal 3200Mhz 32GB in 4x8 Asrock X399M Taichi the CPU is watercooled in the same loop as two RTX 2080's, but temps are fine. I also lapped the Threadripper, but it worked fine ever since, and shouldn't be the cause of the problems i now face.(i think?) so with the F@H event coming up, i want my system to be as stable as possible for 24/7 operation. (btw if you havn't already, sign up for the LTT Folding month now! we got prizes!) this means that i want to diable the CPU overclock, so i can push the 2080's in the same loop a little higher. here is where the weird stuff happens tough. whenever i set the core multiplier back to 'auto', the system bootloops for a few minutes before booting into windows, but with only 3 memory channels working. i cannot for the life of me get channel C1 back online on stock clocks! it's only when i apply the overclock again that the memory channel comes back to life. how could this happen?

So I just OC'd my Ryzen 5 1600 to about 3.8Ghz. The BIOS shows that the CPU is running at 3.8Ghz but when I open Ryzen Master or any other monitoring software like CPU ID , HW Monitor etc. It only shows 3.4ghz even at full load. MOBO: MSI B350 Tomahawk P.S: Also my RAM which is 3200MHZ runs stable only at 3000MHZ with this overclock.

Need help. I have an RX 570 (Powercolor Red dragon), bought it brand new. It's paired with an AMD Ryzen 2200G. I like to OC it a bit but the thing is i have a low end MOBO (Gigabyte A320m S2h-V2). Is it safe or do-able or should i steer away from OCing? Thanks in advance.
