I have a simple little question, what paint do you recommend to paint your PC parts

Sick - feeling nauseous and wanting to vomit. (google) Don't confuse with Slick Sorry for crappy picture. Samsung S5 Neo does not live up to expectation. So this is essentially what I went with after asking advice at the local Canadian Tire store and LTT forum. I got the blue one instead Link for reference: http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/krylon-colormaster-white-primer-0481521p.html#srp The first part was removing stuff, which was fairly easy, kind off I removed all the keycaps, easiest job ever in my life Then I unscrewed the back of the keyboard (no picture because everybody knows how to do that) So that I can begin to remove the frame. Note the red circle, that's where the volume connectors are connected, plugging out should be really simple. Here is the frame itself alone The next part was quite tricky. I have to remove the orange part (easy) and the black part (which took way too long). Here they are seperated So with everything removed it is time to paint! I was greeted with a warm sunny day outside... Except for wind (here is a decent picture) And here I had to ditch the newspaper because it flies away so quickly and the wind was quite strong. More picture to come since Forum allows up to 20MB only

Hello everyone, i'm about to buy some sleeved cables to make my pc look better, but i have a doubt The 2 bitfenix cables look like they are the same color as expected because of being of the same brand, but the silverstone one looks like it is closer to white, when the bitfenix ones look like they're kind of white/yellow... The reason i'm not buying everything from bitfenix or everything from silverstone or any other brand, is because they are the only alternative i can order and get delivered to where i live... any help ? i dont want to buy them and have 1 look different from the other 2. thanks

Hello everyone and welcome to Project Evo worklog! First of all a quick presentation, my name is Alberto and I'm from Portugal! Was you can see on the topic title this project is in Case Mod World Series contest, Cooler Master propose me to mod a Master Case 5 for the contest and offcourse I accpeted it. The project is already in a good phase since I started it in Febuary. Well I dont intend to win anything to be honest I do this as a hobby and I dont have a big bugget to add WC system and all that fancy stuff, but I got to start with something so hope you guys like this project So speaking about the idea, basicly I'm on the Tower Mod category and like previous years I notice most tower projects never leave the "Box" concept, and for a "scracther builder" being stuck on the "box" is a bit strange so I started to think outside the "box" ( ), to be honest I really needed to think that way because was I said I cant afford all the fancy WC's system most "box" projects have, so finding a new design as really challenging since the Master Case 5 was been already so modded. So basicly the idea was finding a new way to look at the Master Case 5. So Idea found () and Project Evo born, lets see how things are going! #1 Video Images Concept evolution: Work evolution: Actual State Best Regards Tankian The Man

Hello case modders. I am currently working on a build that is going to require me to mod my case a bit and I was wondering what the best method to remove rivets was. I guessed that I could probably drill them out but I thought I would check in with people to hear any ideas you might have before I get started. Thanks for your time.

Hey everyone, I'm getting a laptop with red backlighting, because the cheapest with rgb backlighting and the same specs is a whole 350 USD more. I'm sure I can find a way to take apart the keyboard, but I'm not sure how to add some rgb backlight (preferably per key). If any of you have any suggestions, please comment. here is a picture of the laptop below:

Hello LTT! This is my first post here, though I've been watching the videos for a while. My question is if it is possible to change the case of my prebuilt computer, the HP Pavilion 500-214. I have upgraded the GPU*, but I want to some Corsair ram, but the specs for the mobo say it's only compatible with these types of RAM: Supports DDR3 DIMMs PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333) PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600) PC3-14400 (DDR3-1866) So, if someone could point out some nice Ram, that would be great. When I change the case, I would also like to change the mobo to a Intel brand, because I currently have a mobo that only accepts AMD (up to AMD FX670K (Richland) Quad Core*). So, if this is possible, what are some other changes I should make? *GPU is a GTX 1050 ti *Other allowed Cpu's are listed: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04100368 under Processor Upgrading.

So, I have just completed a budget, Mini-ITX build. For my case I bought a Coolermaster Elite 110 Mini-ITX case. I also bought a used GTX 960 Asus Strix from my friend. Only problem was that I didn't do my research well enough and I ended up with a GTX 960 that by .2 inches will not fit in my case. Now, I bought this GTX 960 (4 gb) for $100 so I thought I got a pretty good deal. I have five options that I'm considering so I'm asking you guys to help me decide what is the best: 1. Get refund back from friend and buy new graphics card that is probably a good amount worse. 2. Get refund back from friend and buy used graphics card from ebay. 3. Refund the case I bought and pay $30 more for a case that will meet my graphic card's needs. 4. Go full ghetto and cut/saw part of the GTX 960's frame off. NOT the actual PCB part just the Asus edition part. 5. Sell my graphics card on ebay (don't have good rep, never done it before) and use money to buy a new graphics card. Which one should I decide or even another one?

New Year, New Project! Kindly supported by Thermaltake Germany and G.Skill, big thanks to you guys My goal for this project is to create a clean and nice looking build featuring fancy RGB lighting using the Tt parts and ASUS Aura. CPU and GPU will be liquid cooled with the new black coolant from Tt. I'll drop a little list what we're going to use in this build: Case: ThermalTake View 27 Hardware: Intel i7 6700k ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming Aura G.Skill Trident Z 16GB DDR4 3200MHz GTX 1080 FE Tt Toughpower DPS G RGB 650W Gold Other: MDPC-X Sleeve CNC milled parts by Gosumodz Watercooling: All Thermaltake! Before we start, some hardware shots! To keep this post clean, i'll post the full album here including future updates: https://imgur.com/a/QtKVh You can find more photos in the imgur album posted above. After creating the Prism Logo used in the banner on top in CAD i asked my friend John from Gosumodz to make it "real" I love CNC milled alumnium So i created a mounting plate for the res/pump combo, too. It also has integrated cable combs. The first update will contain some case wrapping and the "mounting of the mounting plate", stay tuned cheers!

I'm planning on painting the interior of the EVOLV TG and the IO shroud and PCH heatsink on the Maximus IX Hero. I've seen people paint the whole interior of the Enthoo EVOLV on PCPartPicker but was wondering how to do it and if I would need to break the rivets and re-rivet the interior. In the motherboard's case, I don't want to paint any PCI-e or RAM slots (not gonna pull a Linus,) and I don't want to paint any of the metal on the heatsinks. Painting just a section of the PCH bridge may be a tad tricky, so I also wanted a few tips for that as well.

I really like the look of the inside portion of the enveyus H440 case: https://www.nzxt.com/products/h440-envyus. However, because of the ugly white exterior and $200 cad price tag I've decided to paint a regular H440 instead. I'll paint the interior in the same places as the special edition enveyus is painted as well as the exterior parts that are coloured. I plan to use this paint: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Automotive-12-oz-500-Degree-Ford-Dark-Blue-Engine-Enamel-Spray-Paint-Case-of-6-248959/204620670. I was watching a video on how to paint your case and they mentioned that the Corsair Air 240 is "Powder Coated" so it doesn't need to be sanded before applying the primer. So what is powder coating and is the H440 powder coated? Link to video:

Hi LTT forum, I recently changed from a bigger Phantek enthoo evolv itx case to an Ncase M1 V5 case. I want to reuse my extension cables which I got but they're male to female so I can't use it with my corsair SF600. Any ideas?

Hello, I'm starting to plan my build, which I will start in about 2 months following the release of Ryzen. 1 aspect of my build will involve a graphic I will paint on the side of the case. Specifically I'll be printing out and cutting a stencil that I will then use to spray or brush paint on the design. Currently I'm eyeing the Define R5 for it's straight edges and clean look that I love, while the black will also serve for an excellent background to my design. I'm concerned about what paint to use and if the material that the R5 is made from will be suitable for this. Do you guys have any opinions on a better case for this project or a particular type of paint to use?

Dear Reader, I recently had an idea for a computer mod the reason the idea for the mod i will talk about arrived is one of two reasons first of all there is not a good way to store away an entire Gaming Rig to save space when it is not being used as well as the fact i am constantly rearranging furniture within my own home and having a Gaming rig that takes up little space would be more easily move around. My Idea for a “Case” Mod Would be to have an entire battle station with all the peripherals including monitors in a case that would be about the size of a mid-tower PC case allowing for greater portability as well as being easily storable when you have little space. I have a decent idea of how i would have the system compacted into such a space, i would most likely use servos as well as sliding mounts to have the PC ‘fold’ Into such a small space however i don't feel that i would ever have the spare cash to build a high powered gaming pc as well as being able to afford the components needed for the mod as i am an autistic gamer and have had an increasingly hard time trying to get a job to be able to afford what i enjoy. Thanks For Reading Matthew Bell (Bobis32) What are ideas You've had for a PC mod that you personally cant Afford?

Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to download mods from the steam workshop as files instead of subscribing to them. Does anyone know if this is possible?

If i mod cpu 771 to fit 775 mobo, or other way around will i lose any server benefits?

I have built a computer for myself out of used parts and am struggling with flashing a new BIOS. For this computer build, I used an x5450 processor - an Xeon processor from the LGA771 socket - inside a P5Q Pro motherboard (LGA775). I was able to do this using the "LGA775 to 771" mod (tutorials all over YouTube) and am now running a 4 core 3.00Ghz processor for under $100. Quite happy that I have gotten everything to work, but I'm still running on the old BIOS. This BIOS is not able to properly utilize all four cores of my processor as it was coded for the dual core processors. I've found the correct BIOS for my motherboard with this mod. The BIOS can be found at this link: https://mega.nz/#!XxRzzSZC!cQm4L14lsofjdo28C_CNvnwckmzhX66XencOrb0GkyU I have downloaded the BIOS but that's as far as I've been able to go. The "flash bios" section in my bios is confusing and I can't seem to figure out how the computer wants me to boot the new file. IDK if that makes any sense, but I have never flashed a bios before. I'm really not sure how to approach it. If anyone could offer some help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -Carter

I've been working on this laptop I recently obtained. Starting Issues: Overheating Horrible display Subwoofer Not functional Missing drivers NO HEATSINK OVER GPU!? (Come on HP, who ever thought that only the CPU needs a heatsink should be fired.) Uses 100% of the HDD on startup which causes me some problems because in order to somewhat fix this I have to hibernate it instead of turning it off. Starting Specs: 6 Gigabytes ram 700 Gigabyte HDD AMD A10 4600 With Radeon Graphics 2.30 GHz 760p TN display 4 USBs (3 of which being "SS"/3.0) Backlit keyboard Upgrades Currently applied: 8 Gigabytes Corsair Vengeance RAM Removed Disk Drive (Using USB Apple super drive in it's place) Overclocked GPU to 800 MHz using AMD OverDrive (only when charging) Problems Solved: Overheating (Dust clogging fan) Some missing drivers Periferals Purchased (for my home use): Corsair Strafe RGB cherry mx red Corsair Scimitar RGB (I wanted the black one for the aesthetics but had to get the yellow one instead...) Corsair MM-800 Polaris An Insignia 20in aio tv (It has HDMI and 1080p but I wasn't using it so it's the monitor now. Computer will only output 760p to it) Apple USB Super Drive Razer Kraken 7.1 chroma Parts needed: SSD Disk drive HDD caddy New cooling system [I'm thinking about using the space that the disk drive took up for a liquid cooling mod. But I don't know if it will be possible] HEATSINK OVER THE GPU! A new display Aesthetic Mods I want to add: A vented, acrylic window so I can see the RAM Maybe some acrylic windows on the wrist rest area (I do like clear cases on electronics) LED fan (if I can find one) Bits I want to do but don't know how to do: Maybe Replace the processor with a better one. I can't get AMD OverDrive to overclock it. Replace the screen with a touchscreen. I know I can replace the screen but I want touch screen Add support for dual bandwidth wifi I know it's kind of overkill but I don't have enough money for the desktop I want to build and I like how portable my laptop is. And it runs all my games just fine. May not be at full 1080p 60fps but it works just fine. It may have problems but I've been able to work through almost all of them. You guys' support and help is appreciated! I'll be adding Images later.

Hey guys So my lan party/htpc currently consists of: a dell optiplex 755 DT motherboard, a gtx 480 with aquagrafx block, 7gb ddr2 and a q6600 all crammed into a modded dell 3100 case (i have a thing for dells x3) Now the q6600 was bottlenecking the 480 in gta v pretty heavily so i overclocked it using setfsb from 2.4ghz to 2.9ghz which has doubled the min avg and max fps which is great... however i want to push this old system and was thinking about puting an x3353 cpu with an lga 771 to 775 adapter. I read that all x3*** cpu's will work in the p35 chipset which is what this board is however i thought i would check here before i went and modified the socket tabs to fit the xeon if anyone saw any problems. Just an fyi this system is a hobby im well aware i could build a new system and i already have one but i enjoy working on this more. Cheers guys

Hi! I saw some cases feature "noise damping" solutions and materials, but maan 200$ for a case. I was wondering if i coud add materials, foam or something to the side panel or other, to reduce noise. Do you guys have any idea like that? (other than change fans and fan curves).

So I have an old DFI DK LANPARTY X48-T2RS motherboard, (https://www.cnet.com/products/dfi-dk-x48-t2rs-lanparty-motherboard-atx-lga775-socket-x48/) And I found this cheap CPU on e-bay, which is surprisingly good for its price, 3.16GHz, 12MB Cache (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Xeon-X5460-3-16-GHz-Quad-Core-SLANP-EU80574KJ087N-Processor-w-Grease-/222327806610?hash=item33c3c51a92:g:sqwAAOSwMmBVxZWp) And I found out that you can mod a LGA 775 mobo that will be able to accept LGA 771 CPUs. Now I did some research and because of my motherboard being so old, I couldn't find any information of this specific CPU (Xeon X5460) working on this motherboard. I'm new into this modding method and I don't know much about it, it would be nice of any of you people on this site replying back with an answer, Will it work on my motherboard or not? Thanks!

I'm looking to find a see through front panel of some sort for my old WD 80GB hard drive. I don't really have the time to make one, so does anybody know where I can find one and install in a matter of minutes?
