Hey People, I am in serious need of some help, I have been wrestling for the last 2 months almost with choosing a new GPU for my system. Now that non-reference 780TI's are hitting the market in Aus its making me want to make a decision even more. The 4 main offenders are the 780, 780Ti, 290 and 290X. Now the reason why I am struggling so hard with this choice is because the card will have to last me the next 2ish (hopefully more) years and I am more or less trying to decide which technology to hedge my bets with. Of course I am referring to the infamous Mantle vs Gsync debate, I know they arent directly comparable, but I can only have one.. and that makes the choice difficult. What technology do you guys anticipate will most likely go multivendor? Mantle seems to potentially be the more immediately accesible technology and is potentially going to be supported by many games I am eagerly anticipating. However Gsync is getting much praise from people in the know. Im upgrading from crossfired 6870's and havent had a fantastic dual card experience, are things any better with any of these cards? Sorry for subjecting you guys to another of these threads, but I have honestly not been able to decide on one over the other, whenever i think i have decided the next day I change my mind. Hey guys! I recently upgraded my computer, since things were pretty cheap during the Black Friday sales, and I have noticed my computer is running extremely slow. At first It was insane, everything was buttery smooth, as I expected for the money I payed. After around a week things just stopped. Boot up time went from around 20 seconds to a couple minutes, Games went from 120FPS to 20-30. Even opening up Firefox is slow! I made sure my Ram and CPU were running fine, and they were, Computer also realizes there are 2 graphics cards. It feels like it started after I authenticated my windows 7, but I don't know if that is the reason. Specs: Changed Hardware: 4770-K CPU 8GB Corsair Vengeance RAM z87-A Asus Motherboard Hardware From Old Build: Dual EVGA GTX 670's TX750W Corsair PSU 500GB WD Caviar Black Cooler Master Cosmos S - Modded like crazy Some help would make my day, thanks!

First of. Hello It's about 5:45 in the morning and i decided to post this Before going to bed (been at work) So today i was shopping at a Swedish equivalent of walmart. and while i was waiting in line to buy a carton of smokes a baby made a noise behind me. Obviously this is not normally a problem. but this hellspawn behind me did not sound like a normal baby! It made almost exactly the same noise that the venomous headcrabs in half Life 2 makes! (that shrill effin scream thing!) I almost jumped straight out of my boots when i Heard that... And i spun around with a look of complete terror on my face.. only to be met by confused looks.. That felt like a perfect moment for the cliché Vietnam comment. "You dont know man! you weren't there!" And that got me thinking. Has anyone else had any game related scares irl? (you can add a funny non game related scare too if you want too ) Just thought i'd share this with you guys here in the off topic section. Picture is vaguely relevant

SO, I just failed a quiz and I have a test on Friday and I was wondering If somebody could teach me some tricks. To me they just seem like guess and check simplifying... we have a crap teacher, check homework, learn something new, go home do homework, repeat. My Lenovo Y580 randomly freezes while searching my harddrive Like for example, i searched for geforce experience which is in my C: drive, and it freezes, and goes back to normal within 1 minute. Whats wrong? Also, my screen flickers black sometimes, when exiting fullscreen in youtube. That never happened before. And my temps are WAAAAYYY too high for my laptop, so do i have an overheating HDD? Is MY LAPTOP DOOMED?

Hello User, thank you in advance for reading my story. I've recently recieved a new hard drive for my Alienware 17 (specs will be at the bottom). I know the laptop is overpriced, but please don't start to complain about that. My old hard drive crashed this sunday evening and Dell sent me a new one. Only as of yesterday have I installed the hard drive and installed all the software (games etc.) and drivers (I think i did). It worked all right yesterday, but for some reason now my RAM usage is at 97%-100% while i'm not even doing anything. I will make a screenshot (Task manager is in Dutch, but you'll understand). There's not a single task that is using a lot of ram, nor are there multiple proces using a decent amount. I've been calculating and i should be using at max 300 mb of the 16 gb i've got. I do not know how this issue has started, but I also don't know how I could solve it. I am hoping that there is anyone smart enough to help me with this issue. Yours Faithfully, Pim L. Virusscanner: Anti-malwarebytes Premium Please note: I've not been to any dodgy sites, I doubt that I would have any malware. I've downloaded my drivers from Dell and my games from Steam and Origin. Hello LinusTechTippers. I have been using the Func MS-3 for a while now(since i saw Linus video about it), and i love it. The thing is that i just sold my desktop pc and bought my self a Macbook Pro since i moved out by my self and the apartment is too small to hold my gaming rig. I WILL be installing Win7 on the Mac, but in the meanwhile i would still like to use the Func MS-3 on my Mac. The problem is that when i connect the mouse to the mac nothing happens,and i suspect the USB ports on the Mac do not deliver enough power... am i right? And i am afraid this problem will still be present even with Win7 on the Mac. Would love if someone could give me a solution or explanation on why my beloved MS-3 will not work:) PS: If you read this post Linus, please tell your friends at Func to make their peripherals Apple friendly^^ PSS: Please don't make this thread a discussion on why i bought a mac!

As the title says. Im having some trouble with my motherboard.(at least i think its motherboards or my own fault) i cant get manual stable overclock. but auto 40% oc is 100% stable. i would like to get same peformence as im getting now but with lower temps, at the moment i have my cpu running at @4,4ghz and 1,38core voltage i5 4670k and antec kuhler 1220 cpu cooler. the voltage is problem. if i use manual coltage setting i cant get stable overclock, freezes or just craches(mostly freezing). and lately it been realy hot outside, nearly everyday 32C and cpu is hitting idle 40C. so thats all. So is there any one who could help me get stable manual clock with lower voltage? Ps: sorry for bad english.

Ok, So I am looking for an HDMI-USB solution so that I can use my gewd camera as a webcam. So i just bought a brand new 16GB SanDisk CruZer USB drive and when i got home and plugged it in to my PC it says: "you need to format the disk in E: before you can use it." so then i tried formatting and it says my drive is only 14.9GB what?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? so i got really disappointed but i still tried to format it. Format: 14.9GB FAT32(default) 8192 bytes allocation unit size i unticked quick format because there isnt any data on it but later i also ticked it but all the times i tried to format it it just says: windows was unable to complete the format. Please help me!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for your time!!!

Hello, I want to Overclock my 4770k and as soon as I take it over 3,9GHz I can't boot. Sometimes it just loads forever without doing anything and other times I can see the desktop and then suddenly WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE _ERROR appears. Could this be my RAM is not supporting XMP?

Hey guys, I need new hardware after almost 5 years with my old rig. My current case is a NZXT S340 Elite. I want to keep this and my soundcard. The parts I need are: -mainboard -psu -ram -cpu I thought about getting a i7 8700 for 340eur. I I'd like to stay at 600eur / 700usd for all together. I buy my stuff in a outlet store if you'd wonder. But if it goes like 50 eur more or so please suggest it anyway! I'm curious on your comments!! Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I convinced my brother to chip in so we got a 670 instead of one of the 660s :P Hello guys, so the short version of the story is that my parents are separated and 2 years ago I built a gaming PC at my mothers house. My dad is actually quite up to date in the whole PC-thingy and so we discussed it and decided not to get a next gen console, instead we are going to upgrade our PC at his house. At my mothers I have a ASUS GTX 560ti 900Mhz factory overclocked and it suits my gaming needs perfectly. Currently at my dads we have the Xbox 360 for gaming and an oldish computer for everything else. That computer currently has a GTX 220 (Haha yeah that card is probably older than my little brother) but it has a pretty decent CPU (Think it is a 2nd gen i5). We have decided since long that we are going to get a(n?) Nvidia card, should we go for a 650ti or a 660, might even go for a 660ti? Maybe something else? TL;DR Gonna upgrade my second computer to gaming grade instead of getting a Xbone or Ps4, my first computer has a 560ti and suits me fine. Should I get a GTX 660 or 650ti for the upgrade? Please come with suggestions if neither. /Thanks Daban

Why doesn't Linus Media Group use custom made thumbnails to assign to all their videos? They can get pretty lost in the viewers' subscriptions page if they don't pop as tech videos. That does concern me as an LTT fan and I think not having specially designed thumbnails for unboxings/reviews/benchmarks/livestreams etc. does have a negative impact on the overall discoverability and poopularity of the channel. I am a graphics designer which is why I got the idea to make a custom made thumbnail for the livestreams as an example to show Linus, Slick or any of the mods really to how great they can be and how organized their collection of videos becomes after they start to care about video thumbnails. The idea of a thumbnail is to have the general essence or idea of the whole video portrayed by a simple picture, which is why I thought a fist bump between Linus and Slick - that happens often on their livestreams - would be a great way of letting the video pop in subscribers' homepages and show the overall tone of the video, which is fun combined with informative subjects. The informative subjects way of the things will portray themselves with a techy looking color correction and a title on the picture with an 8 bit font or something again, techy, to give more information about the episode, say the date and a couple other lines. So I guess I would need the community's help to show the admins of LTT the power of what video thumbnails posses. If anyone has a picture of a first bump between Linus and Slick, please upload it to this thread, also provide which video and what time did you actually take that screenshot from (if possible). Thanks everybody, and I hope we can make LTT better and better 1 step at a time!

Basically the title. I was stupid enough to buy a 1080 two months ago, and I'm just not sure if it would be worth the money to get two 1080's if it won't keep up with future demands. I'll be planning to run all games at max possible settings (with low MSAA, that stuff kills frames) on 4K 60FPS. Thanks for helping if you do.
