So i upgraded my system with a MSI RTX 2070 super Ventus OC (had a GTX 960) before. The problem is that i get no display output as soon as i install the drivers for this card. I tried the card in an other system and it worked fine. I uninstalled the old drivers properly and installed the new one. Also I reinstalled Windows completly but still not working. My BIOS is on the newest version for this mainboard so I don't know how to fix this problem. I hope u can help me and sorry for my bad english. Hello, So I want to switch to the red team, after a long time of not upgrading and I have no clue at all on which AMD processor has what capabilities and what price/ performance ratio. I would like to pair my existing GTX 1060 with something of similiar performance. I could get a i5 6600k for cheap, but it's not really up to date anymore (I think?) What mainboard+cpu do you guys can recommend? In Germany btw

So I decided to build a gaming PC and now I have some trouble getting it to work. First of all my specs: Intel Core I7 9700K Asus GTX 1070 Strix 8gb Asus Z390-A HyperX DDR4 3200MHz 2×8gb Thermaltake Water 3.0 360 RGB Samsung ssd 970 evo 250gb Western Digital SN500 Be quiet! Power 11 Essential Be quiet! Dark Base pro 900 rev.2 So I have quite a few problems. The first one is that none of my fans are spinning when i turn the PC on. Even if I wait a few minutes they don't. Second one ist that my Mainboard seems to be getting power as all the lighting works and the power LED is lit, but my GPU and my fan controllers (which I'll come to in a second) don't. The GPU just has one LED constantly lit (it's labeled EJ13LED1 if anyone knows what this is about) and the one next to it (labeled EJ13LED2) isn't. Also my power supply for the GPU is kind of weird as there is one 6+2 pin cable that has another one coming of of it. My fan controller which is located on the back of the case is connected to power and all the other accessoires (the 3 Case fans, as well as the 3 Thermaltake fans and also all the case LEDs and controlls like the power on button etc.) but still none of the fans are turning on. The last issue I have is that my water pump also doesn't seem to be getting any power as I hear no sound at all from it (it has a weird 3 pin connector which I connected to the CPU pump labeled 4 pin plug on the mainboard as told by the manual) If anyone is able to answer all my questions it would be awesome Kind regards

Good Morning (right now it's almost 9AM in germany), I'm right now in a project building a home server, components are not necessary to list except for ONE: The ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS The board has a header for the ASMB6-iKVM Remote Management Tool and I really need one (tbh...). The little circuit is EOL (End of Life) and therefore not anymore sold except on marketplaces like ebay. The problem on the ebay auctions is that everyone who sells these ASMB6s, says: "IT DOES NOT WORK WITH THE Z9PE-D8 WS - ONLY WITH THE Z9PE-D16". I looked up why it can be like this when the KVM should be unrelative to mainboards, my conclusion? The firmware (1.91 is the latest firmware and is ONLY for the Z9PE-D16)... There is not one single listing of the module with firmware 1.21 or lower. Leaves me the question, buy one referred for the Z9PE-D16, attach it on my "D8 WS" and make a firmware downgrade! Is that possible? :) Wish you a nice day. - Jul │ xSOU1

Sooo I had my pc for like 2 years and it worked great. But yesterday I dropped it down a staircase ( my dog stepped in front of my feet ). I quickly tried to revive it and it worked. I watched some YouTube and than when I booted up a game the pc just turned itself off after like 10 minutes of gaming. Is it the Mainboards fault or the cpu or ram? In the drop the cpu couldn't get damaged and I stress tested the ram but do Mainboards behave like that? The video shows the superposition bnenchmark at 8k and prime 95. both cpu, ram and gpu work to 100% workload without crashing https://youtu.be/XozeqroziMQ I played Boneworks or BlackMesa for 10 minutes and it always crashes but my pc isn't even close to 100% workload at these games. Normal browsing and discord usage don't crash the system... plz help ty

So I have some Motherboard mainboard 4 pin Fan Header questions. The motherboard I'm using is the MSI MPG Z390 GAMING PRO CARBON AC ATX LGA1151 Motherboard and the fans I'll be suing are the Corsair ML140 97 CFM 140 mm Fans which I'll be connecting 2 of to 1 mainboard 4-pin fan header via the https://noctua.at/en/na-syc1 NA-SYC1 Y-Cable. The fans are between 10.8V - 13.2V. I know I should not overload the main board, which I checked the manual and says that for PWM mode (I'll be using) for the mainboard at being a constant +12V.... so I'm wondering, do the mainboard fan headers support more then 1 fan? If they do, because the fans are capable of running above the +12V (I'm assuming) limit, does that mean it'll fry my mainboard fan header or does it simply mean the fans will be stopped at 12V power consumption, like they can't consume more then? OR, might that not even be a concern as I might be able to limit the max volts the fans can run to in the bios on the motherboard for PWM?

Hey there, last weekend I was building a computer for a friend with used Hardware, he is not really a gamer so it had to bee relative cheap. But when I wanted to mount the CPU cooler on the board/CPU I realized, there is no backplate. I stoped building his PC because I don't want to destroy his Mainboard. Now my Question: In my live I was building some pc but every time there was an backplate, is it possible to just mount the cooler direct to the Mainboard or do I have to buy one? Parts I was using: Mainboard: Asus P8H67-M PRO CPU: Intel Core I5 3550 Cooler: Noctua NH-L9i

Hi guys, I was near finished swapping from an old PC Case to the q300l. I was happy after an hour of cable management turning the PC on everything worked normal. While letting the PC running, I wanted to tie all the zip ties which I let lose for adjusting something. Than the PC turned black and off. After deplugging the power and take out the battery, the Mainboard lighted up but the PC stayed dark. Even after around 10 min without battery and power. Do you have any idea what happened? I thought maybe I fried my CPU, because the Mainboard is lighted. Her are my spec's: Rzyen 3 2200g Asus prime b350m-a Crucial ballistics sport 2x4gb 2400 Crucial mx 500 (working, tested) Be quite system power 9 400w

Hey guys, I am currently deciding between a Mainboard, CPU, RAM and Drive upgrade or only a Drive Upgrade and the other stuff in the future. My Mainboard is an Asus Z97-A with a 2x 120 GB SSD Raid 0 (240 GB in total) as System Drive for Windows 10. But I'd like to get a lager SSD for Games, VMs etc. I thought buying an NVMe M.2 SSD (Samsung 970 EVO 1 TB) is great for the future. It's small, fast, etc. The speed of the NVMe M.2 SSD will be limited to PCIe 2.0 x2 due to the lack of PCIe Lanes. My Question is, if it is possible to use the NVMe M.2 SSD as a boot drive? I have read several posts on different forums saying it is possible with only some Mainboards. Others are saying you have to use some Tricks then it is possible on every Mainboard. Does anyone know if it is doable (with this) Mainboard or has other ideas? That would be awesome Thanks for answering in Advance. Greeting, Max

Not sure this has been argued before, so this might be a re-run. Apols then. Just now I saw the video of the live build Linus did some time ago (late 2019? Was for a give-away with a Canadian winner). In it he argued that one should NOT use the antistatic bag the mainboard comes in when populating said board with components. I'd say otherwise. Linus' argument for not using the bag was that it was made of electrically conductive material, which could cause a capacitor to damage a PCB trace if that capacitor had a potential across it. My rebuttal is that actually, if a mainboard has any remnants of voltage potential on it while unpacking, you'd want this to equalise ASAP, at least before dropping in the CPU and memory, as these voltages can potentially damage either, or both. Should any on-board component (like a capacitor) or trace be damaged because of this, either one would not be fit for purpose by design as the capacity of the capacitors on mainboards is generally low enough that in case of a full short, the current would flow for too short amount of time that it wouldn't heat up the (too thin) trace for it to reach critical levels and melt the copper and thus act like a fuse. If it does, the trace, and thus the board, is not fit for use in the first place. Discuss! (and be nice/civil or the Mods would have to crack their whip on you!) PS: I have a background in electrics/electronics, refrigerants/HVAC, design my own PCB's and recently passed my EXIM CDCP exam with a 93% score. Just FYI.

Hey guys I recently bought a new motherboard and I somehow do not have any sound from the board. I connected my speakers to it and even installed a driver (Realtek high definition audio driver ver:8750.1) from this website the first link. Somehow I still do not even see the speakers in the audio control panel. Does anyone know how to fix this? Mainboard: ASRock Z390 Extreme 4 Thanks in advance!

Hey guys! I just built myself a new PC and I'm running into first minor issues, which are pretty annoying. At some point, when my pc is running for a bit, my mouse and keyboard will just disconnect randomly at the same time. The funny thing is that the LEDs are still lit up, but I can neither move my cursor nor type anything. After I physically disconnect/reconnect them, they work fine again. I also have an audio-interface and a webcam connected which don't seem to be affected by this, except the fact that I have to reconnect my audio interface after boot for my PC to actually power it. I'm using a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite, SteelSeries Apex M750 keyboard and a SteelSeries Rival 600 Mouse. I didn't have these issues with my old PC so I suppose it is because of the motherboard. Are any of you guys familiar with this? I have mouse and keyboard connected to the USB 2 ports on the motherboard btw, if that makes a difference. Cheers!

I'm finally at the point where I want to upgrade my CPU, but I'm not quite sure what kind of Processor to get. I've got a 1080 and would need to upgrade most of my other Components (I've still got DDR3 Ram, old Motherboard etc). The CPU I'm currently running is an i7 4770k overclocked to 4.25GHZ sustained on all cores, 16gb of DDR3 ram, and an Asus Maximus Hero VI. I would really like to be able to hit 144fps in most games at the best graphics I can with my GPU. I've been thinking about getting a Ryzen 3700x/3900x, but when I looked at benchmarks both the 3700x and the 3900x seemed quite behind (in gaming, not productivity). The only thing I do on my PC that actually needs performance is gaming. If I upgrade now, I'd prefer to have something that lasts me a long time, even if it costs a little more. Would an i9 9900k be worth the extra money if I don't want to upgrade in the next 3/4 years? Would my current GPU be a huge bottleneck, or is a 1080 still acceptable for general 1080p gaming with high but not crazy high graphics at 144hz? I'm also not quite sure what motherboard to go with, if I choose the 9900k, so if you have any suggestions on that (around the 200€/$ price point) I'd be glad to hear em ^^.

I have a problem, where my motherboards just resets the BIOS whenever I unplug the PC. When I turn it switch it back on, it restarts a few times, the fans start blowing and just stop. When I enter the BIOS Setup later, a message with the title "Clear CMOS Information" comes up and tells me that the CMOS has successfully been reset. This only occurs when the XMP Profile is loaded, though. Does anyone of you have an idea what could be the issue here? Memory and Motherboard are: Motherboard: Aorus X570 Elite Memory: GSkill TridentZ Neo 2 x 8 GB 3600 MHz Thank you!

So I bought a msi b450 tomahawk max for my 3600x. It‘s a very good equipped board for around 110$, but it seems there is a severe problem with the bios that causes problems during boot and with graphics drivers. From what I have read on forums about this board, msi seems to have no intentions to solve this, since the problem has been there for several bios versions. I‘m now looking for a similar Atx-motherboard with decent vrm‘s and audio thats not from msi. Any suggestions? -
Hello guys, I recently bought a new i5 9600k and in order to make it work with my Asus strix b360 F I needed to flash my UEFI. All that worked cleanly, and the UEFI recognized everything that is in my PC but unfortunately, there are no devices in my boot menu even though I have got 2 HDDs an SSD and a normal DVD drive that are all recognized by the system. Is there anything I might have forgotten? Hopefully this is recoverable, otherwise I'd be heartbroken. I thank you guys for every response, whether good or bad, in advance!
