  1. Yes. I also heard that MacOS is pretty good for programming. And I also heard of a VM software called Parallels, with which i should be no problem to virtualize a Linux based OS I guess.
  2. That's bad. I think it's a pretty capable motherboard (performance-wise), but such stuff is just not what I expect when I pay about 200€ for a MB. I'm hoping there will be an update which fixes the issue. I'm gonna try to set the clocks and timings manually, since otherwise I'm running my 3600 MHz Memory at 2166 MHz, which would be pretty bad. Hope I don't screw anything up lol.
  3. For me basically the same is the case. For me it resets the whole BIOS, too. I just stumbled upon a post on some forum which says that could be fixed by updating to the latest BIOS and settings the memory settings manually. I haven't tried it, tho.
  4. There are loads of stores.. My favorite one would be Amazon, but I know it can be quite pricey compared to some others. (Some others: https://www.cyberport.at/; https://www.notebooksbilliger.de/) As I should be able to do some rendering (rather basic) and gaming etc, low end hardware won't be suited, i guess.
  5. I have a problem, where my motherboards just resets the BIOS whenever I unplug the PC. When I turn it switch it back on, it restarts a few times, the fans start blowing and just stop. When I enter the BIOS Setup later, a message with the title "Clear CMOS Information" comes up and tells me that the CMOS has successfully been reset. This only occurs when the XMP Profile is loaded, though. Does anyone of you have an idea what could be the issue here? Memory and Motherboard are: Motherboard: Aorus X570 Elite Memory: GSkill TridentZ Neo 2 x 8 GB 3600 MHz Thank you!
  6. I actually thought about that already, but I just don't like the keyboard. Would probably get used to it tho. Do you have any experience programming on MacOS? And it should be no problem running Windows/Linux on one a second option, am I right?
  7. Austria. I should be able to get everything from Germany tho. I already own a decent desktop. I basically just need a laptop which I can use for school and the stuff I described above
  8. I live in Europe, but I should be able to get everything which delivers to either the US or Europe My budget is up to 3000€ (3300 US$) but everything lower would be great I don't care that much about weight. It shouldn't weigh more than 2.5 - 3 kg Would be great to get through a day in school with it. (8h normal use) Pen support is not an absolute need, but I would like to switch to having also my notes digitally and couldn't think of any other solution there.
  9. I'm searching for a new laptop which I can use for programming. It should be able to handle also higher demanding stuff, as I would like to do things like game development and 3D modeling in the future. It would be great if you could play games on it at least decently and if it had some touch screen or stylus support so I can write on it in my studies. I looked around a lot for laptops fitting these criteria, but there are not that many I found. The only one which did everything I wanted was the Surface Book 2 with a GTX 1060. But some people seems to have issues with overheating a
  10. Tested, and this also occurs when nothing is plugged in. Drives shouldn't be failing. At least there are no fails reported.
  11. There are loads of USB devices connected. As I said, a stream deck, external drive, BT dongle etc. But plugging those out isn't really a solution as I would have to plug in a ton of cables everytime I boot up
  12. Ok, thanks. I'm kind of reliefed to hear that happens to others to and I didn't screw something up myself. I'll make sure to update my BIOS
  13. I am experiencing very high BIOS times ever since i built my PC. At the beginning it was about 20 seconds. But it seems to only get worse. In the 3 months I have it now, I went up to 24 seconds, which seems too high to me. Even 20 is to high I guess. Components: CPU: Ryzen 5 3500 Motherboard: Gigabyte x570 Aorus Elite GPU: RTX 2060 Super Memory: 2 x 8 GB Trident Z Neo 3600 MHz. I didn't tweak anything crazy in the BIOS, nothings is overclocked or anything. I just turned on ErP mode so my Stream Deck isn't lit all the time and enabled SVM for Virtual Machine use
