When i turned on my pc today it was only showing a black screen with some horizontal lines (sometimes flashing or flickering) above and some vertical white lines just static. I think it is not my monitor's fault because it shows clearly the bios splash screen.i tried using other sources of display but the problem is still there so i think the problem is with the monitor. The lines and the glitch changes over time. Is this water damage? Broken fuse? I do not recall hitting this or the monitor falling. Somebody please help me. screen 3rd monitor having horizontal lines only when game open
crowdie posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hello there, so i've got a new dell monitor that im using as a 3rd screen for work. Now i got it hooked up with a DVI to DP cable into my graphicscard with my 2 other screens plugged in my GPU aswell and for some reason when i play a game on my main screen there appear horizontal black see through lines on my 3rd screen. i have tried changing refreshrates and resolutions but none get rid of the problem. My second screen does not appear to have any issues whatshowever. I've tried plugging it in all the other DP ports but none seem to help. The weird thing is that it only happens when i got a game open. And yes all my drivers are updated. Any suggestions please let me know, i doubt it's harmfull for the screen but it's just very anoying. **EDIT: just disconnected 1 screen and doesnt seem to make a difference WhatsApp Video 2022-04-10 at 6.05.54 PM.mp4- 1 reply

Hello, I have recently been dealing with an issue with my VIOTEK 27 Inch 1440p monitor. The specific monitor is the VIOTEK GFV27DAB. The issue I have been dealing with is that if I leave it off (either in power saving mode or completely unplugged) for some time, when I go to use it again, it will pop up with horrible vertical and horizontal lines. The issue has been fixing itself after a few minutes, but its starting to happen with being off for a shorter amount of time and is taking longer to go away. I fear one day it wont fix itself at all. I will attach images of what's happening. The monitor was purchased in September of 2020, so it is not old. Any one have any idea of what's happening or if it can be fixed? EDIT: This started over the summer and used to happen if its off for several days. It is now happening after leaving it off for less than 20 hours.

Hi. If you can't already see, i once started up my laptop and these weird lines started appearing which at first wasn't as bad but overtime gets worse for some reason. I tried fixing it by changing the refresh rate to 144hz to 60hz, and it worked, but when i change the refresh rate back up to 144hz, lines start appearing and my screen sometimes totally freezes to the point where i have to hard shut down my laptop. This is happening for over 3 weeks and the only way i can fix it is to give up 144hz refresh rate, but is there a way to fix these lines appearing and freezing my screen without giving up my high refresh rate for gaming? Pls reply if you have a solution. Changing display settings in NVIDIA Control Panel, AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 and the windows display settings does nothing. Sorry for the poor video quality. laptop problem.mp4

So I have this Acer Nitro VG270U 27’ IPS panel. For a few weeks now I’ve had this issue where I get these fragmented lines on my screen? It doesn’t happen on my second monitor and disappears after a minute or two. Provided is the link to a video that shows the issue. https://imgur.com/gallery/rov2yYH I bought the monitor brand new a few months back, so I doubt the monitor is dying, and I don’t think it’s the graphics card since like I said, it only happens on my main monitor. even if the screen is dying I’d love more insight as to what is actually happening here as I can’t find any answers anywhere else. Thanks guys!

Hi, I own a Lenovo Ideapad 710s, and have noticed these bright lines on my screen (please see the image attached). When I dim the laptop screen, they dim too, but are always brighter than the rest of the screen, so they are always visible. It's getting annoying. If anyone knows what's going on, and/or knows a fix, please let me know. Additional info: I've had the laptop for between 2 and 3 years, and it's still running fast but crashes sometimes (may have to ask about this another time...). Screen at full brightness: Preview attachment 20201224_204425.jpg Preview attachment 20201224_210451.jpg Laptop case that may have been compressed against the screen: I'm a bit suspicious the laptop case (see above) I had it in has applied too much pressure to the display when placed in a bag with other books, causing damage, maybe to the backlight? The laptop case has a sort of hexagonal jagged pattern, that I figured was there for a good reason... but maybe the display casing wasn't strong enough and the case damaged it over time. Anyways, what do you guys think? Hopefully you'll have better ideas. Thanks in advance 20201224_210451.jpg 2.6 MB 20201224_204425.jpg 4.4 MB

TL;DR in the end, but hopefully you read the whole thing or at least check the two examples provided. Thank you for any help! Greetings from a disconserted July G2 pre-order costumer So... I went into VR for some HL Alyx yesterday, and I kept noticing these horizontal lines while looking at bright objects/the sky/scenes with uniformed colors (pretty much the whole game). At first I thought it was the lenses of the VR headset, but after playing I checked if my monitor had a similar, call it "effect", and surely it does. *This is not the screen door effect - I’m referring solely to the horizontal banding lines* Example 1 - Monitor (Sorry for the bad quality, hopefully you can see what I’m trying to address - look from the right of the image, where the effect is more pronounced) Example 2 - VR Headset ("They are faint lines, I pronounced the effect in the photo." Credit to Reddit User u/fujiapplelover for the photo, taken from a similar post he did) The effect is only noticable when I move my head in VR, even a very subtle movement, not while I’m completely still and focusing at a certain spot. As you can see there are vague horizontal banding lines going across the pixel arrangement of the panel. This is kind of immersion breaking while in VR, as you basically have the panel strapped to your eyeballs and not even as much as a single pixel can escape. While playing normal flat screen (2D) games you can’t really notice it unless you are as close to the monitor as seen in *Example 1* above. I might be of the picky kind, as I’m really sensitive to minor details like this, but at the same time it got me questioning if this was normal or if maybe my GPU was causing this. It is quite annoying and pulls me out of immersion more often than not tbh. I don’t see this effect on my Oculus Quest VR headset at all - hence why I got extra curious. The panel on the Quest seems more uniform and clean compared to my G2, even with less pixels. TL;DR: My G2 headset has vague horizontal lines across the whole panel, something my Quest 1 does not. Was wondering if my G2 unit is faulty or if this can maybe be fixed through software/updates down the road. Monitor: Samsung CRG9 (QLED) PCVR Headset: HP Reverb G2

Hey, I've been trying to solve this problem for week online, trying to find people with similar issue but nothing I've found has helped. This PC was working fine but a few weeks ago when I turned it on to watch videos, I started to see random lines and pixels. The lines and pixels will stay in the same place if I pause the video but if I watch it, the lines and pixels will be different per frame of the video. I have narrow downed the problem to be either a CPU or motherboard problem, as I have removed the GPU, tried using different ram and also used a different startup disk, yet this problem is still there. The problem is not just on chrome, but also on the playback settings on windows. When I watch certain videos or stream, it will work fine. It also works fine for games as I have tested it on games like Lol, Valorant and overwatch with no issue, I've attached images of this: Image 1 is where the video plays but the image has the pixels and lines. Image 2 is where I click on a video and it does not play at all. Image 3 is where I checked that it is a windows issue as this is from the video playback settings yet it is still there. Image 4 shows a video that works fine but you can see the issue on the channel picture. Image 5 shows the issue on amazon, where the image looks fine until I hover over it. Image 6 is the same image as the one in image 5 but I downloaded it and it seems to show it fine. Image 7 is a stream on twitch where a streamer is watching a youtube video and everything looks fine. Image 8 is where I watch the same video as Image 7 yet I get the problem. Image 9 is where there is no issue playing Lol on integrated graphics I have reinstalled many times video drivers and disable hardware acceleration on chrome and thing has helped. I have also updated the motherboard system and chipset drivers. The CPU is an i5-4690k and the motherboard is msi z87i. If anyone has any idea or advice on what to do, please help. Thanks.

I have this monitor; LG-24MP59HT just yesterday, a strange issue started happening to the monitor screen. regardless whether the monitor is connected to the PC or is just idle, these strange lines keep appearing. Even when the PC is off ( but the monitor itself is on ) and the display ports of the Monitor are not connected to any input, these lines keep appearing. I have attached a video for you to see and help figure out the exact issue. The Monitor is out of warranty, but please do let me know what exactly is this issue with the screen. ( and whether it can be fixed ? ) any help or guidance someone can give me in this regard is much, MUCH appreciated i have been worrying non-stop for about a day now. monitor video.mp4

Hey guys! So I did not use my PC for a week or so, cause I was away, but when turning on, on the bottom of my Asus rog XG32VQ monitor there were several colorful lines in a horizontal position. They were not flickering or anything but honestly my heart stopped that I gotta RMA my 3 month old 700$ monitor. Then I pulled out the DP cable and put back in, and it was working. I'm guessing this isn't a normal thing for a 700$ monitor to do. What could be the reason? Should I just forget it since its working now? Common issue?

Hello guys I need your help, I have a very weird issue with my monitor that makes no sense at all. To give you some infos : Monitor is benq XL2411, used it for about 3 years, gpu is 1080 from MSI. Attached full specs as a .txt. The wattage of my PSU is 650W. Also I overclocked my cpu just a little bit. Ok so here is the problem, on my monitor, even when my computer is off, and that I unplugged my DVI cable, I have a very distinct patern of white lines on the lower left of my monitor when the power is on. Screen : https://imgur.com/a/XwuOWtt (this is the bottom left of the monitor) The strange thing is that it's reproducing the exact same pattern of my desktop wallpaper and of the Cortana search bar, it's doing the exact same outilnes. Screen from my camera : https://imgur.com/tX8mPb1 Screen from my camera with plain background : https://imgur.com/a/o7TMJQm Screen from a PC screenshot : https://imgur.com/zPJByqx And you can't see it on screenshots, only from my camera so it's hard, but basically (I did a lot of tests), the lower white line is of the exact same length of the cortana bar "Type here to search". And the curve line on top is replicating the very bright white line of my wallpaper exactly, but stops at around the middle. Some stuff that I did : unplugged everything for 5 minutes, plugged them back in. Very carefully clean my monitor. Changed resolutions, changed wallpapers, changed Hertz, updated monitor driver, disabled it. And I know that it still happens when everything is unplugged except the power cable, so probably not gpu/dvi related. So I have no idea how to fix it, why it's happening, should I change my monitor etc, it seems really odd to me and it can't be a coincidence, it's following my wallapaper pattern way too closely. Thank you. Specs.txt

Hello! Lately I've noticed a bunch of bright horizontal lines on my screen, most of them on the bottom, 2-3 really visible, but lot of smaller ones too (and some lighter ones on the top too). They're not dead pixels or anything like that, they're just simply lighter than they should be. Straight lines. The monitor is an LG 24M37D-B (1080p 60Hz TN panel) using a DVI cable. GPU is an R9 390, but on the TV which is connected by HDMI no bright lines can be seen. Any idea what can cause it? I've attached a bunch of pictures because it can be hard to see

I dont even know why those lines appeared, and is really anoying, it appears with "grey" colours and the right side is getting hotter (monitor) everyday

Was doing cleaning on my system and was working perfectly fine prior to disconnecting wires and cleaning out any dust and what not. Put everything back in and connected everything back up and now I see this.. Not sure if something is just causing an incorrect connection or if the graphics card is going bad. Any help/input much appreciated thanks!

Hello I purchased my ASUS vg248qe about 5 months ago. I had no issues with it until the last 2 months as I have slowly been getting more and more horizontal white lines across the screen. The first one was at the top of the screen but I now have three and one is right in the middle of the screen so it's starting to really annoy me even though its quite faint. These lines only occur when running at 144HZ. Turning to 60Hz solves the issue but ruins the point of the monitor! Does anyone know of a fix? I see that this monitor is very popular so I hope I'm not the only one with the issue! Thanks

So a buddy of mine has an issue where he has solid colored lines on his iPhone 6 screen. Whenever he turns the screen off and on again, the colors change. The lines are both vertical and horizontal. This issue came up after he went fishing and doesn't think his phone got wet at all. What do you guys think? Thank you!

What would be the cheapest way to fix it? Thanks in forehand <3

I have a Canon G2000 printer and it's printing quality is problematic. There are some missing / darker lines when printing images in standard. However when I print in photograph quality, the image is fine. I've attached pictures. I took a picture of them so the quality looks bad but lines are the real issue here. Does anyone know how to fix this? Also, the printer is new, I just bought it last December. I attached pictures of the printouts.
