So im building my first watercooling loop, just ordered all the parts. But I wanted to ask, im planning on putting my EK XRES 100 mounted to the middle fan spot on the front of my case. This means that there will be some tubing and a top mounted radiator above it. When I go to fill the loop, will the pressure from the liquid above it cause the reservoir to overfill? Or will it be ok? IE: Does my fill port need to be at the highest point in my loop? If so, how can I go about doing this since Im going to have a top mounted radiator

Title sums it up pretty well. Noticed this dicolouration on the GPU a few days ago. The CPU block looks fine exept for a part around the border which i'm not sure if water is actually meant to pass through. The water itself drained clear, although i did swab inside a few of the fittings with a cotton bud and it did come out slightly brown. Would this be most likely down to something I have done wrong or something wrong with the block itself. I used "EK Ekoolant EVO Clear Concentrate 100ml Coolant" mixed with distilled water when filling and I did flush out everything with distilled water before hand as well.

ARM slides detailing the future of their IP has been leaked. ARM has long had a fairly slow release cadence but it seems they've picked up speed with them announcing A75, A55 and G72 (high performance CPU, high efficiency CPU and high performance GPU respectively. These will be successors to A72/A73, A53 and G71. A53 has seen wide-spread use by multiple semi-conductor companies and has been employed in numerous designs. The A53 was actually announced in 2012, so as you can imagine it was long overdue for a successor. With up to 2x higher performance, 15% more efficient and being more configurable, the A55 will also be used in numerous designs from entry level to flagship as efficiency clusters. The A75 will be a welcome replacement for the A72/A73. A73 was a good efficiency gain over A72 but also regressed in performance in some areas. It will offer 20% more performance than A73 with the same efficiency The G71 marked a huge performance improvement in ARM's graphics endeavors with scalable designs that finally matched what Qualcomm's Adreno chips could offer where we saw Samsung implement an MP20 design in their Exynos 8895 that actually exceeded Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 (which has their latest Adreno 540) in graphics performance. The G72 will continue this trend with 25% better efficiency and 20% better performance density. Lastly, they'll also reveal more about their new DynamIQ cluster designs which is an improvement over conventional big.LITTLE (the use of multiple clusters of varying design or performance characteristics) which has been the paradigm in ARM designs and therefore the de facto standard in Android devices. All this will be revealed at the ARM Tech Day on Monday the 29th. Source: https://www.nextpowerup.com/news/36256/leaked-slides-detail-arms-new-cpu-and-gpu-designs/ -------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: So ARM had its Tech Day and the embargo has been lifted. This means Anandtech has done an analysis of what we can expect by dissecting the PR numbers. It seems the performance of the new A55 cores are hitting a ceiling by remaining In-Order but the cost for going Out-of-Order in power consumption might be too great for now. DynamIQ is a huge shift in how ARM does multicore processors. We've been used to a maximum of 4 cores per cluster and using 2 clusters with each cluster having the same cores. With DynamIQ things will change. It will provide the ultimate flexibility with clusters with up to 8 cores and you can now mix your cores however you want meaning a 7 x A55 and 1 x A75 is possible now, for example. This change also improves L2 cache latency by 50% simply by moving the L2 cache closer to the cores. Anandtech's analysis, as always, is worth a read. There is sadly not anything on the new G72 GPU though. Source: http://www.anandtech.com/show/11441/dynamiq-and-arms-new-cpus-cortex-a75-a55

Videocardz has just spotted and AMD card in CompuBench sporting 16GB of VRAM, and a clock speed of 1600Mz; along with 64 Compute Units. It looks like another Vega card has cropped up, and has double the VRAM and 400Mhz more on the clock compared to the last TimeSpy leak; where an AMD card had 1200Mhz core clock and 8GB VRAM at 700Mhz ( HBM2 is rated up to 1000Mhz). If clocked at 1600Mhz, it would indicate 13.1 TFLOPS in Single Precision which is not too shabby. https://videocardz.com/69475/amd-radeon-vega-spotted-with-16gb-memory-and-1600-mhz-clock https://compubench.com/device.jsp?benchmark=compu20d&os=Windows&api=cl&D=AMD+6864%3A00&testgroup=info Now before anyone goes and gets a bit hyped we need to look at the VRAM for one. AMD's supplier is SK Hynix, and they have no 8GB stacks ready for production this year it seems; let alone 2.0GBps modules which two are needed of to obtain the 512GB/s Vega is supposed to have. If that's still the case right now, this card found in CompuBench is likely either an Instinct card, or a Radeon Pro; which could allow them to use 4 dies of HBM2, as opposed to only two. Cost is not an option in the professional space, as it is for normal consumers; and HBM2 is rather expensive. We've also seen Raja hold up the Vega die showing 2 HBM2 dies, but that could only be in relation to the consumer gaming cards. Source: SK Hynix Catalogue for 2017 https://www.skhynix.com/static/filedata/fileDownload.do?seq=374 It still a ways off before Computex and we get any solid information directly from AMD sadly. It's all true folks! We have out 16GB, 1600Mhz Vega Card, the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition. http://pro.radeon.com/en-us/vega-frontier-edition/

Hi all, Just bought an NCIX custom PC on March 31st, 2017 and it arrived at my doorstep on May 1st, 2017. System was working fine for the past while until something catastrophic happened. I smelled electrical burning from my room and realized something is clearly wrong. It also made a massively horrible sound, coming from the Arctic Cooling Liquid Freezer 240 CPU Cooler and then liquid was coming out of the motherboard IO shield!! I opened up my NCIX desktop PC and saw the damage, which turns out that the CPU hose that brings the liquid to the pump came off entirely, as you can see the links below: http://i.imgur.com/KXjAZOH.jpg http://i.imgur.com/t5BOuIv.jpg http://i.imgur.com/78i6eVV.jpg I contacted and brought my NCIX PC to the Ottawa shop already but they said I will have to submit a warranty claim for the damaged hardware (CPU, motherboard, graphics card, possibly the RAM?) to Arctic Cooling, but the latter's warranty policy says that any other hardware damaged during use will NOT be covered, as can be read here: https://www.arctic.ac/worldwide_en/warranty/ I sent an email to Arctic Cooling just in case but I won't be holding my breath for this situation. Even though I have an NCIX PC Assembly and Testing With 1-year Limited NCIX Warranty, I did get an RMA number just for my Arctic AIO at the shop. Though I'm not sure what will happened next if I have to pay for the damaged hardware inside. I will provide updates to this saga, possibly a painful one... All-in-all, be careful with buying Arctic Cooling with liquid cooling for now...

So apparently along with the Ryzen 9 leak, Intel also leaked the i9 7920K, a Skylake-X proccessor with 12 cores 24 threads. Moving on to i9? http://www.pcgamer.com/intel-core-i9-leak-points-to-intels-first-new-processor-line-in-years/ But what is this for? Logically, it's probably to counter AMD's Ryzen, but how? The 6950x is $1700(or whatever it is now after the apparent price drop), so I don't think adding 2 more cores and more threads is going to help that.... Any ideas?

My Silverstone TD02-LITE leaked and destroyed my $218 ASUS Maximus VIII Hero motherboard. ASUS wont RMA and Silverstone will RMA but with a refurbed TD02-LITE. So I have had to buy another MOBO and bought a ASUS Z170-A which seems to be working well. I thought at first that I had lost my i7 6700 but after remounting it twice it came to life. I dont trust liquid AIO coolers anymore. SO I have a Noctua NH-D15. It seems to do well but not as well as a liquid cooler overclocking. Yes, I have remounted it twice and it seems to be the same each time. I have read reviews on many of the AIO coolers and they all have had leaks reported. I guess its just luck whether you get a a day, a month or a lifetime out of the AIO coolers. I am thinking about a custom cooler but I will only have a water block and hoses exiting the case to an outside pump, reservoir and radiator . No more motors or liquid storage inside the case. I see a lot of all aluminum radiators. I remember just enough that copper and aluminum dont play well together in water. And I assume that an aluminum radiator would eventually be eaten by a copper water block, so I will get a copper radiator. Any suggestions on what pump to use? Or is there a better air cooler for overclocking and forget liquid cooling? Thanks!

Good morning I apologize if my questions are answered in other threads, I did manage to find from a few threads that apparently cleaning the wet PCB's with the purest rubbing alcohol I can find may help, so I did use the search function before posting. Short Version, Brand new Swiftech H220 X2 reservoir cracked and leaked all over my motherboard, both R9 290x's and my PSU and sound card, want to know if the coolant will permanently damage the aforementioned components or will I be ok? Longer version Bought a Swiftech H220 x2 two weeks ago from newegg.ca, Got here Friday and I hooked it up but left it outside the system for a night to run and make sure it had no leaks overnight. Saturday morning there was not a drop on the paper towels I had under it and I thought victory was mine and it would be safe to install into my PC. I followed directions and carefully installed the new cooler lovingly and everything seemed fine from Saturday afternoon until today, Thursday at 1030am. I got off night shift late and was hoping to play some Star Citizen when I noticed to my horror the desk had a pool of liquid under my PC. I immediately powered off the system, glancing up at the cooler before I turned it off and noticed to my horror, the pump was cavitating, and the reservoir had a very noticeable and apparent crack that was not there the day before. About half of the coolant in the loop had leaked out over my motherboard, video cards, sound card, PSU, and cables. I removed the cooler, cards, and anything wet and placed it all on paper towels to dry. I have read in these forums that rubbing alcohol should help with the coolant on PCBs, but I am wondering... Is it likely that the components are salvageable? Has anyone had experience dealing with a swiftech RMA and will they cover damaged components if it was a manufacturing defect? I took pictures of the cooler when it arrived and when I installed it. There was no visible crack or damage, or at least nothing obvious to the naked eye when I installed it. There was no dropping or bumping of the cooler when it was installed. I cant figure out why it cracked like this. My PC was not bumped or moved or knocked over. And I did not excessively tighten the screws on the fans when mounting so I do not think I would of warped or bent the radiator adding pressure to the reservoir. Worth mentioning, did not add any dye or fiddle with the pump, reservoir or anything at all, Except I changed the fans from Push to Pull, using the H220x2 to exhaust air up and out of the case. it was a vanilla install. I intended to add an additional 120mm radiator in a push/pull eventually. (I have an FX-9590, please, no space heater jokes... I wish I had stuck with my 8350...)

Hi guys My 8GB of ram keeps being eaten up leaving only 1-2 GB free when I have a few internet pages open like google, facebook, youtube and streaming the news channel ( I'm not playing you tube whilst streaming the news ). I found some say it the qos or quality of service application in windows 10 whilst other like linus say its just the ram not refreshing properly in a sense. With this page open as it stands hardware monitor still says 6GB are in use! I know my anti virus uses some memory in the back ground on and off. I was considering buying another 8GB dual kit to boost my ram up to 16GB but I have a feeling this would be eaten up too. Short of resetting my PC every time which I should not have to do what could I do and can it be? Any suggestions and experience welcomed. Orion.

Dear LTT Community, The Coolant in my GTX 1080 Waterblock is leaking through the inside divider (see picture). It doesn't seem to be affecting performance now (I'm running at 40° at full load) but I am extremely worried about it. Better safe than sorry. Thank you, lahren1

First custom loop. When I get close to the PC, especially the top where the radiator is I smell something 'funny'. It smells kind of like the coolant m but I'm not entirely sure and I do remember the rad (black ice nemesis) having a similar smell right out of the box too. I keep taking off the back panel to check for leaks but for the life of me can't find even the tiniest one. Is it normal for a loop to have a smell to it or should I be doing something? Getting kinda freked out

As we now, the Galaxy Note 8 is coming out on the 23. August, So i probably just saw a Test Version of the Galaxy Note 8. Details: It looked like a more Bulkier Galaxy S8 with sharper Edges, and the Edge Feature. It was in a Matt Red Colour with Black on top and bottom of the Screen. It had a normal Note Pen. The Back is the Interesting Part: It had a Single Camera, which looked to be a 16MP Sensor whit no Fingerprint Scanner on the Back! So this could be a Clue that the Fingerprint Scanner is embedded beneath the Screen! I couldn't photograph it because the Guy put it into his Pocket and went away as i was trying to photograph it

So, I just finished my custom loop and I started putting coolant into my res. Of course the first thing that happened was the coolant exiting the res as quickly as possible. What went wrong here? Are the fittings not tight enough (tightened them by hand until my fingers slipped) or are my bends just fucked? VID-20171027-WA0003.mp4

Another day, another leak! My thread about the Intel leak got removed because of the video, so this time, I'll have to screenshot you some tweets, and let you find the video online.... This stand will come out at the end of the month, and it's technically under NDA. But Corsair did a mistake and showed it at Dreamhack Montreal 2017. Due to their mistake, they told us that we could talk about it.... so here it is! RGB stand, seems in aluminium and plastic witha rubber base. USB 3.0 in, 2x usb 3.0 out + 3.5mm out. That means there is a DAC inside. No idea about the price, but it's really well made and good looking! Sorry for the poor video quality we only have a phone and a gimbal. Here are the pictures!

Since a few weeks ago, I started to get problems with my RAM. I have 16gb of DDR4 but my games keep crashing when I have my internet browser opened (either Chrome or Firefox). I checked my Task Manager and it shows 100% usage for a brief second and then force close the game (and then goes back to normal). I did a memory check with Windows (using 10) but it didn't detect any problem. Also, my pc detects all 16 of my available RAM. Does anyone know how to fix this/experienced similar problems? My build is: ASUS Z170-A Intel Core i5 6600k Cooler Master Seidon 120V Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2133Mhz

Source : https://www.theregister.co.uk/AMP/2017/06/23/windows_10_leak/ So 32TBs of data has 'reportedly' been leaked online, including internal builds of windows 10 would have never been publicly released. Obviously this causes concern as it poses a threat to user security, as now malicious hackers have intricate resources to aid in finding harmful exploits. Since it first appeared on BetaArchive.com, administrators have removed / are in the process of removing the none public code, but I'm sure like many things, 'once it gets on the internet, it's never coming off'.

The title pretty much says it all. What got leaked from Microsoft's Source code was USB, Storage, and WiFi drivers as well as Windows 10 Mobile Adaption Kit and some Arm-based versions of Windows 10. This is obviously embarrassing to Microsoft as some of this stuff is supposed to be only viewed by governments and other companies. The Verge link that I found has all the info. https://www.theverge.com/2017/6/24/15867350/microsoft-windows-10-source-code-leak

Just wanted to ask if a platic fan can destroy a radiator when it grinds very soft against a raidator, because on my h110i i have a very high piched but realy quiet grinding sound when i hold my ear against the radiator. Also i can only hear it when the fans are on a realy low rpm, when they are on a high rpm this sound isn´t there. Could it be that the sound comes from the Fans?

Hey guys! I recently built my second pc, (still kinda new to things) which included an i7 6700k, 16gb ram, gtx 950, ect. But what I'm having a problem with is my Coolermaster 240m liquid aio cooler. I constantly hear a dripping sort of sound, which is scary, but I've thoroughly checked a bunch of times, and there are absolutely no leaks. What at could this be? Should I be concerned? This is only the second day of me owning the aio, so should I return it? I've searched this up before and some people say it could be an air bubble? All I know is that it's very irritating and potentially broken. Thanks for for your help!

Hello all who view this and help out. I have an issue where my ram is always above 75% usage after 3 mins after start up, I have very few programs that start up. I only have a max of about 6 chrome tabs open at once usually its 4 tabs. Ive done a malwarebytes full scan and a windows defender scan on my main drive and nothing was found. I have installed 2 different programs that say that it clears ram. It does to some extent but it just fill up again.(it usually only empties about 100mb or ram anyway)

Hello Linustech! So I made the stupidest, most shameful mistake I can think of in the world of AIOs. First build by the way. Decided on the Corsair H100i RGB Platinum SE all in one liquid cooler for my 3700x. I do not know what possessed me to think I had to unscrew the copper heatsink plate to change out the Intel bracket for the AMD bracket, but I did it (should have read the instructions, I know). There is 8 screws, after unscrewing 4, liquid began to appear. Not a lot, just a couple little drops in total of this whole ordeal. I immediately screwed the screws back in, but now there appears to still be a little bit of liquid in the crevice between the copper and plastic (attached image), and if I shake the pump it will drip out. Fast forward to next day afternoon, that side of the pump sat upside down overnight, no liquid came out, and shaking it now doesn't show as much liquid, and it doesn't drip, just barely visible. My question is probably obvious, do I have anything to worry about? I am knowledgeable with computer hardware, just not the realm of liquid cooling, and don't want to risk my whole system. A friend told me I should just RMA it and say that it leaks, but if I can save time and hassle by asking here, I figured it worth a shot. Thank you!
