So here's the situation Now aparently I cannot change what GPU renders Wall-Paper Engine can only run on the GPU that "renders" the desktop (https://steamcommunity.com/app/431960/discussions/2/1653297026036887970/) But I want to run it on my IGPU so would it be possible to run these monitors off my IGPU and than use my primary GPU to run my games. I have enabled some Igpu setting in bios so i don't know entirely what thats about 1. monitor plugged into my GPU with DVI (native 1080p) 1. TV plugged into GPU using hdmi (native 1080p) 1. monitor plugged into my mobo running on my CPU's IGPU with a vga to hdmi adapter (720p running at 1080p) I have an 8700K with an asus z370-a which has the same ports im currently using (I would use an hdmi to DP connector for the tv which i already have)

Hello everyone, I'm currently using a Lenovo yoga 700 laptop as my main rig. It's rocking a I7 6500U (It's a 6600U chip but I don't know why they locked it to that specification), 8 GB of DDR3L, 256 GB Samsung SSD and a 1080P IPS touchscreen. I'm using my laptop for work, internet surfing as well some light gaming. As you guess it, I play Warframe. My settings are currently Low preset and the resolution is 1366x768. I'm getting 60fps and the lowest dip are around 40. So, I wonder if someone here used the Intel graphics HD520 to play warframe and if so, what were your settings? I'm trying to get the most out of my 2-in-1

Hello, I can't increase the dedicated memory for my intergrated gpu on my i7-6700k(have to wait until my gtx1070 arrives) I have tried to do it via bios by setting the share memory to 1024mb(I have 16 gb of RAM so no problem) but it still stays at 128mb... I tried to do it with regedit and gmm key but it doesn't go above 512 mb... My mobo is Asus Z170 Pro Gaming/Aura btw. Intel drivers are up to date. Any ideas?

So a while back, i did some misc. benchmarks in less than a handful of games, with the intention of firstly choosing a replacement for my 160W mini PC, and secondly the helpfully give some kind of reference to other builders. With life "stuff" and studying causing my plans to neatly compile results fall through, I thought I would share what I do have. It has benches from CS:GO, L4D2 and Bioshock Infinite (older, less demanding games). I do have results for metro 2033 that need a write up. The GPUs compared are the Sapphire RX460, Zotac 1050ti and the Intel HD 530 using an i5 6400 with a 160W psu. Link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1yPQegTgDMz_B4BXmZprRMT5YKje8fVn7FpfvFNEIVu4/edit?usp=sharing Hopefully someone out there finds a use for these numbers on a screen. edit: tl;dr- Given 3 GPUs that are all considered lower end or lower power consumption, what is the relative performance and cost of each in casual/older games (eg those found in alot of steam sales)

I've got a nice gaming rig built for when I'm at home, but I'd like to have a cheap thin and light laptop to take with me on the go. For single player or non-competitive stuff where lag isn't as big of a factor, I've got vpn and steam streaming set up and working, but I'd like to at least still be able to play overwatch and league of legends on my to-go machine. Can kaby lake keep 60fps 1080p with at least medium settings in esports titles or do I have to spring for a 1050 equipped laptop?

Hi, I recently got a 7700k and successfully installed it in my Asus Z170-A motherboard. Windows successfully booted and seems to have installed an older driver as part of the automatic driver installation BS by Windows 10. The driver number is 4532. The official driver for the Intel HD 630 is 4542, and when I try to install it, the installer quits and says that my computer does not meet the minimum requirements. My specs are: i7 7700k 16GB ram GTX 1080(Yes, I know, but I want to use Intel QuickSync for GPU encoding) Windows 10 Any help or advice is appreciated!

How does the Intel HD 630 iGPU in Kaby Lake processors compare to the iGPU in an AMD APU (e.g. A10-7850k)? I mean, I know a Kaby Lake processor will crush any AMD APU in processing power, but what about the graphics capabilities? P.S.: Didn't know whether to put this in the "Graphics Cards" or "CPUs" section. I'll leave it up to the mods as far as where this thread should be.

I have an aoc ips 1080p 60hz monitor with vga and dvi connection. Currently, i connected my 1070 strix using dvi to the monitor. However, can i connect the intel gpu on my i5 7500 to the same monitor using vga. Can i duplicate the display? If i were to mine on the 1070 when not gaming, the youtube would be stuttering sometimes bcoz of the heavy load on gpu. So, to avoid that, can i duplicate my display just by using the same monitor by switching the source of display from dvi to vga and use the igpu instead for smoother results? As u all know, kaby lake igpu has integrated support for 4k decoding. Such a waste if i did not use it. Btw, i'm currently using asrock b250m-hdv motherboard. Can my idea be realized? Can both of the gpus be used on the same monitor at the same time?

So AMD has released their latest line of APUs, the Bristol Ridge series. This included (maybe in seperate releases, I don't remember) the Athlon x4 950. The only difference between the Athlon x4 950 and the A10-9700 is that the A10 has the R7 iGPU. But reading online, I was given to understand that because the X4 lacks the iGPU, you MUST have a VGA card of some sort in order to get ANY kind of video output. But my question is this: Whouldn't the CPU just software render the display? It may be crappy, slow response time, absolutely sh*t for even 2D gaming, and it may task the CPU, but couldn't it, technically? PLEASE NOTE: I'm not asking this question with any intent to buy. I'm just curious about it, from a technical standpoint, not as a customer. I'm not asking for advice on wise spending.

I have a GTX1060 with only HDMI, DP and DVI-D output. An FHD monitor is connected via HDMi. I'm thinking of buying a second monitor, the cheapest the better, but they only have 1 VGA (D-SUB) connector. Which is fine, I just need to enable the iGPU in the BIOS and can hook it up to the motherboard. Here comes the question: how is the computing process shared on the 2 GPUs? For instance: Dragging a program from one screen to another, does it swap GPUs? More dramatic scenario: opening a game in windowed mode and dragging it to the middle, so half of the game is either on the iGPU's or the dGPU's output monitor. What happens then?

Hi guys,i currently have a budget pc i installed with used components except the psu the build is : i5 4590 (stock cooler) z87-k mobo 8gb ram 500gb hdd cx450m psu intel hd 4600 and a cheap old antec sonata case with a 120mm exhaust fan at the back. i was thinking that i should get a cheap dedicated gpu even though i'm low on budget so what i found was a used gtx 570 or used gtx 560 ti or hd 7750. or i could just keep using integrated graphics until i have enough money for something better(going to be a long time). so i was hoping to get some advice on this 1.should i get those used gpus or keep using the integrated one? 2.is the cx450m enough for the gtx 570 ? 3.And if i use the igpu for some older games with lowered settings would i need a better cpu cooler to not fry the cpu?

Hey guys, I'm looking into purchasing the MSI GE72VR 1060 (or apache-pro) laptop, but I'm not sure if it has the ability to switch over to use the IGPU like some others can? Does anyone know where i can find this or which brands have it so I can look into those? Thanks!

TL;DR Anyone have before and after temps, after upgrading from an igpu? I'm looking to gather some data on whether or not upgrading from an igpu to a dedicated card has a major impact on overall system temperatures. I've tried googling it, searching various forums, and just generally asking around. But no one seems to have any hard data. Like at all. No one seems to care about the temperatures before and after, under the same work load. I'm looking to upgrade my system with a gpu, but no increase the work load. I just want to lower the overall temps in the case. My build right now: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rFLCNN and I'm looking to put in: MSI RX 550 2gb https://www.amazon.com/MSI-RX-550-2GT-LP/dp/B072S87MKT/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1509346476&sr=1-2&keywords=msi+550 I do plan on removing the fan assembly due to space restrictions. I am building inside an xbox 360. So far my temps are in the 30's for general productivity and hd video. But even playing older games (Halo CE, Witcher 1) I'm seeing temps go up to the 60's. Newer games on low to medium settings play well enough, with the temps going even higher, into the 70's at times. Now I know these are all within operating tolerances, but I don't like the sound of the fans spinning up to compensate. Breaks the illusion of playing on an actual 360. This ended up being longer that I had planned.

Hello, can anyone explaing if this fine? I play some old games with the iGPU that came with me i5 4460 and 16 GB of RAM... The GPU is working at 99% most of the time, the CPU temp seems ok (50-55 celcius) on stock cooler... In this case with Starcraft, but it happengs with every single game

Hey guys, I recently built a office/webbrowsing system for my sister. The CPU I used is the G4560 from intel which comes with integrated graphics (HD 610 I believe). As OS I got her Windows 10. I'm wondering whether it's really necessary to get the Drivers for the iGPU with windows 10? Dont get me wrong: Obviously I installed every driver available but with them installed there is one more little icon on the taskbar that someone could potentially click on and screw wirh some settings while doing so. I feel like the need for these drivers is not there anymore with windows 10 seeing that it's doing a great job of providing basic drivers. What's your opinion? Note: wasn't really sure where to put this thread, feel free to move if needed

Hi LTT reader's, I've been running my first build using the Intel igpu, my 1070 has now arrived. What's the best practice regarding the install the card and driver's? Do I need to uninstall the Intel drivers before fitting the 1070 and then install the lastest nvidia drivers? Thanks for your time. Tony

Hi! So i recently installed a new fan in my system. And, Ever since i have done this, the card is either crashing my PC or something else is. It will bring me to a screen saying no input to the monitor and the audio will cut out, but i can clearly see that the PC is running as there is hard drive activity, and lights are still running. ~ On Intel HD graphics I am having absolutely no problems what so ever, or for now. So, what shall i do? - When i was re-installing my graphics card into the PCI slot, on 3 occasions no power was put into the card / no LED's on the MSI logo, if that's any help. I had to take out the card, as my board is a M-ATX and the CPU Cooler + GPU doesn't let me access the PWM header. So erm, I genuinely have absolutely no idea what to do, im loosing my chill, and honestly close to smashing up my PC. Specs: i5 4460 @ 3.20GHz MSI R9 380 4G (NO OC) 8GB Kingston Value RAM DDR3 1600MHz Corsair CX600M 256GB LiteOnIt SSD 1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD. OS: Windows 10 Home (From Windows 7 Home Premium) Drivers: The new Crimson Re-Live, can't say due to the issue. I have tried re-installing the drivers, resetting windows, pushing in the graphics card more (Although it won't budge). Idea's? - James

Hi guys! So I've decided to do a benchmark of Crysis Warhead on an intl iGPU for those curious and to clear out some fog over the intel iGPUs. Also, because there seems to be a lack of benchmarks for low-end and entry-level graphics solutions. I'm using Crysis Warhead because I haven't downloaded Crysis yet off origin Crysis Warhead is DX10.1 if I remember correctly, whereas Crysis was DX10 (Vista days lol) For the benchmark here are some specifics - Crysis Warhead 64-bit version (not the 32-bit exe) - installed on a Samsung 850 Evo 250GB 8GB (2X4GB) G.Skill Trident Z running at 3200MHz (disabled XMP for first runs) i5-6600K 3.5GHz intel HD 530 I ran the test for the presets - Minimum, Mainstream, and Gamer at 1080p (blood was enabled, I don't know if that'll affect anything) with XMP disabled for the first runs. I used FRAPS to bench this thing for the first 10min of the game - Benchmark started exactly when you click the start mission thing on the loading screen up to the beach area where you download the intel. TL:DR - (XMP Disabled) Minimum - Avg: 32.879, Max: 63, Min: 19 Mainstream - Avg: 32.443, Max: 57, Min: 18 Gamer - Avg: 17.091, Max: 28, Min: 1 As you can see, there's barely a difference between Minimum and Mainstream presets however we see a huge dip in Min and Max for the Gamer preset. XMP - The reason I had this disabled at first is because this was causing flickering in my system for most games especially CS:GO (You don't want that in CS:GO). I only did one run with XMP enabled for the Mainstream preset test. Here are the results - Mainstream - Avg: 36.141, Max: 66, Min: 12 There is definitely an improvement to the Avg FPS and it does feel smother overall. It definitely can Crysis...Warhead in Minimum and Mainstream presets at 1080p Thoughts and Conclusion: I remember playing (and finishing!) Crysis and Crysis Warhead on an intel Core i3-2100 with the HD 2000 Graphics in it. I had to turn it to the lowest possible settings at 800x600 and running it in windowed mode - was getting about 15FPS there. Moving on a year or two, I grabbed a GTX 660, and that thing was really awesome playing at 60FPS with almost all the settings at max. Crysis and Crysis Warhead is still one of the better games of the past in terms of graphics. It looks a bit like Far Cry 3 because of the tropical environment, but sometimes it looks even better. Heck you could even shoot trees and they would break in this game, times have changed. Now to this, I'm surprised the iGPU actually gave the ability to play some old games at 1080p especially Crysis Warhead. I do play CS:GO on this thing and it gives me around 60FPS at 1080p with these settings. I could play lots of games in this that would run cinematic frame rates at 1080p (lol). League of Legends, no problem, max 60FPS. Honestly, I'm excited about AMD's upcoming APU solution and what DX12 and Vulkan will be able to do with it not just for gaming with the iGPU alone but also maybe pairing it with a discrete GPU. Just me speculating - The iGPU could work with discrete GPUs for rendering which would be nice if it were to happen. Better performance for AMD CPUs paired with AMD GPUs. Do I recommend not getting a discrete GPU? - No, duh. If you really want to play the latest games you really need a good GPU. What I would say however is that it's a bit pointless to buy a low-end GPU if you already have an iGPU (unless you just want a cheap multi-monitor system for facebook or something, low-end OEMs will handle that). That isn't an upgrade. Sure, it may spit slightly better FPS but it isn't worth the money. If you just play League of Legends or something like that, you won't need a GPU for 1080p gaming at 60FPS. Spend at least $100 on a second hand mid-range GPU, or a new one if you could find it. It would definitely be better. Heck, if you really wanted to game on a budget, buy the best CPU for the system you can afford and slap a second hand card on it. You'll be upgrading that GPU anyway, rarely would some do an entire system upgrade every year. To end - I hope this benchmark does clear up some misconceptions and give more information Happy Holidays. If you want to see some old games be benchmarked, just post it here. I'll test it if I have it on my Steam Library or on Origin. Also. FRAPS files (benchmark data) - Crysis Warhead 1080p XMP Disabled.zip Crysis Warhead 1080p XMP Enabled.zip

My laptop is equipped with a bristol ridge apu; FX-9800p. (Hp Envy x360 m6-ar004dx) Due to it's 15w TDP im assuming, the cpu frequency drops drastically as the gpu frequency goes up. The cpu freq. hovers around .7, to 1.7ghz when playing Overwatch, which just absolutely slaughters the framerate and makes for a super choppy experience as the cpu and igpu fight over who gets the juice. The igpu never gets above 60c. Outside of games, my cpu boosts around 3ghz. If anyone has any advice to make my experience better, that would be great. Unlocked TDP is the dream though I know it won't happen.
