So this morning I booted up my rig to play some ARK....but then it crashed and it said to check your GFX drivers, but i knew that they were up to date so i opened GeForce Experience and I checked all the tabs and where it shows your GPU it said unknown. So I shut off my computer, and re-seated my card. Now it shows my GPU but it says that my pc isn't ready for Game Optimization (xD). But yah, thanks for any help from you guys

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum, so sorry for my newbieness. So basically I've recently built a mid level gaming PC, however I've yet to buy a new graphics card, since could not decide which would be right decision. The only thing I've decided is, that I would like to stick to an NVIDIA card(I have no problems with AMD, just got used to NVIDIA). So basically I am a guy who mostly plays with League of Legends ,DOTA 2, Smite, CS:GO, TERA, and funs around in BF3, however I do like trying out some of the new games as well. I've watched gameplay comparisons and read a bunch of benchmark tests, still can't decide.. My budget is tight and I'm aware that I don't need a high-end graphics card, so I would not like to buy a card better and more expensive than the GTX 960, however I still think that the 960 is not the best price / performance card on the market. There are two other cards, that cought my attention: the GTX 750 Ti, and the GTX 950. Which card would you guys suggest me to buy? (Other suggestions are also accepted) Please note that I would preferably like a DX 12 full supported card. My so far specs are the following: CPU: Intel i5-6500 (Skylake) RAM: Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz HyperX Fury Black Motherboard: MSI B150M BAZOOKA SSD: Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 3.5" 1TB Gaming resolution: 1920*1080p Thank you guys in advance! Have a nice day! EDIT: It is more than enough if the newer demanding games run on a mid/high graphics ~50-60fps, I do not need ultra preset.

hey i like to know for premiere and after effects what card should i get ?? GTX 960 or r9 380 ?? i saw in some forms saying that 380 is best, some one says 960 is best because of the cuda..... and i saw -1 point is 380 which says that some times amd drivers freaked out with premiere pro some times and report some crashes while its working some hours continuously. I have been using nvidea this far for my works with 0 errors. i saw some youtube videos about this but for gaming. thats why im asking you. both cost me same and both 4gb models.. so please help me to choose a one and a brand......

Hey there. Any of you know how much i can safely overclock my MSI Geforce GTX 960 Gaming?I haven't done much oc'ing on MSI's Gaming series cards so i wanted to ask you guys first. I've heard that the twin fan cooling on these cards is really really good so any advice on how much i should OC it? One of my friends almost did a 200Mhz OC on his GTX 970 Gaming, but i don't know if that's possible on this card too.

Hi guys, I'm planning build a pc on summer or maybe Christmas for architecture work, some 3d modeling and light game like CS:GO and similars. I'll buy locally and the build i'll present is ~1000€ (~1100$/800£) The build: MOBO - MSI H110M gaming 79,90 € CPU - Intel i7 6700 @ 3,4GHz 353,90 € GPU - MSI GTX960 twin frozr v 4GB 259,90 € RAM - G Skill 2x4GB 2400MHz DDR4 Ripkaws 4 51,85 € HDD - Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200rpm 76,90 € PSU - XFX ts series 550w 80plus bronze 68,90 € CPU COOLER - Cooler master Blizzard T2 15,90 € CASE - Bitfenix Phenom black 83,00 € TOTAL - 990,25€ (i'll leave the link to the store, only have portuguese language, but you have on right under "Pesquisar" the search engine, if you want see any alternative. Link:http://www.alientech.pt/index.php) What do you think about the general build? And, worth buy a 4gb gtx960? The software I currently use (revit, autocad, vray rt, unreal engine, photoshop), that as much as i know, benefit more from cuda then from opencl so I think nvidia is the way to go (because msi r8 380 4gb is 260€ too), but i dont know if the 2gb more on gtx960 worth 40€. With that money i can put an ssd or 16gb of ram instead of 8gb. Will I have an increse on performance on modeling with the 4gb? And the "bandwidth problem" thing on gtx960 4gb? Thanks in advance

Hello guys, i want to see if somebody can help me with this, i've been searching the web for a concrete answer and i have only manage to get mixed results, it goes like this, not so long ago i invested in a very good workstation (using all my savings) and i got me a Dell precision 7600 with 2x xeon processors, 4 SDD hard drives 16gb of ram upgradable to 1024gb and last but not least a nvidia quadro 4000 which was very, very, very expensive at that time, now the years have passed and my graphic card is getting old, so i ran to the store and got me a brand new GTX 960 4gb, performance is great, now i can play video games in my machine as well as have sweet render times from 3d applications like blender or 3dmax but (and there is a big "but") my video editing export times have gone to the roof, from 32min render time on a 8 or 10 min video when i use to have the quadro 4000 to and impressive 3hr 45min with the same settings, i have already set my card to be recognize by adobe mercury engine, but no luck, anyways, my question is: Can i have the two graphics cards in my machine, so i can use 1 for gaming and 3d applications, and the other for video?

Basically, one has a GTX 970 but I will need to buy new hardware if I want to upgrade anything (CPU Cooler for OC, Motherboard for SLI, PSU for wattage) and the other has a good PSU, really good motherboard, good enough CPU cooler but a GTX 960. There is a big jump between 960 and 970 and I'm going to be playing demanding games like Rainbow Six: Siege, The Division, AC Syndicate, at 1080p and want to achieve at least 60 fps on high-ultra settings, but I also want to be able to upgrade this PC some years later. What would you guys choose?

I've had this problem for a while, that NVidia GeForce Experiance is very laggy and usually doesn't respond for a while when clicking on anything, and there doesn't seem to be any relevant info on it as far as I could search. This problem started when I installed a hard disk, and had no problems when only the SSD was installed. I thought my hard disk was the bottleneck, but when I check Task Manager when its loading, the HDD is at 0% and the ssd rarely goes above 5%, so I'm starting to think something else is the problem. I've tried the usual things like reinstalling and rebooting. I honestly don't see any bottlenecking going on here, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Hi Guys, So this is my first post, and I need some serious consumer advice. After gaming on laptops for a while now, I've finally decided to build my first serious gaming PC (yayyy! ). I'm completely torn between to the 2GB and 4GB versions of the GTX 960. I've seen the performance benchmarks and read various articles, but most of them compare these two cards at their very limit, on ultra settings at 16x AA and so on. But what about real-world performance? How do these cards compare on settings most people would be happy with (high to ultra with 4x AA). I will only be playing on 1080p for the foreseeable future, and I rarely, if ever, use anything higher than 4x AA, since my eyes cant notice any difference beyond this point. 40+ fps is perfect for me, anything below this and I start noticing the lag. The GTX 270 and R9 280x are way over my budget where I live and hence out the question. Even the 4GB GTX 960 would be stretching my budget, but I don't mind spending the extra $$ if its REALLY REALLY worth it. Most of my gaming time is spent on strategy games like the Total War and Civilization series, and on RPGs like Elder Scrolls, Witcher, and Fallout. I also enjoy the occasional story-based shooter like the Metro and Bioshock series. I don't play multiplayer shooters because its just not my thing (translation: I'm a noob). I'm also a huge GTA fan, having finished multiple play-throughs of every GTA game since Vice City (I cant wait to play GTA V; It will probably be the first game I play on my new rig). I'll be paring my new GPU with an AMD fx6300 and 8GB of DDR3 RAM. Now that you know what games I play, which CPU I'll be using, and what my quality/performance preferences are, I hope you guys can help me answer these questions: 1. If I spend the extra money, will the 4GB GTX 960 last me any longer than the 2GB version, assuming I will go for overclocking/SLI configuration on either card as years go by?. If just get the 2GB version, will I still be able to play the latest and greatest of my favorite titles like Elder Scrolls, Total War, and GTA for the next 2-3 years on high settings at 1080p, provided I overclock? 2. Will I notice any performance gains on current games if I only play on 1080p? 3. Where I live, the 4GB version costs about $30-$40 more than the 2GB version, depending on where I buy from. Is it worth the premium? At what price premium would the 4GB verion definitely be worth it?

Do you think it's a good idea (if possible) to mix a 4GB Gigabyte G1 GTX970 with a 4GB Asus Strix GTX960 in SLI?

Would there be any problems if I ran a EVGA 500B with a MSI GTX 960. I'm only worried because I've seen on the box of MSI's graphics card, it's requirements are 42 amps and this PSU only has 40 amps. Will this cause a problem?

Hi I am building a new pic and selected the MSI 970A Krait edition for my motherboard, the main reason I selected this is because it supported my am3+ cpu, it suppotprted sli, and was black/white which was perfect for my build, I looked at the spesifications of the mother board and it says it supports DDR3 ram, but the problem I am having is that for the gpus I will SLI the EVGA GeForce gtx960, this gpu has 2gb of DDR4 ram, will that still work with msi motherboard. If it doesn't then is there any other white/black mother board that has sli, runs a am3+ socket and is in the Same price range of the Krait edition? Thanks - technogamer03

I have a lenovo Y70 with a 4GB 960M, the hdmi is only 1.4a not 2.0 thus 4k is limited to 30hz. I was wondering if I could leverage the GTX960M which I know can run 4k at 60hz through a USB 3.0 displayport adapter. I havent seen this done before and didnt know if it could be done.

Okay what will be unable to give 60 FPS first? GTX 960 GPU on a 1280x1024 monitor (1310720 pixels) or GTX 970 GPU on a 1920x1080 monitor (2073600 pixels) The GTX 970 is around 60% better! Lets just say Crysis 3, Metro 2033 Redux & Witcher 3 as basis games.

Hey guys, So I'm planning on making myself a new computer, and made myself a little build. I talked it through with a friend of mine, and we came to the conclusion that this was a pretty good build. I'm curious what you guys think about it. I'll explain what I want with it below. Link: Link :D So, I've selected all the available parts in Germany, but I can get some parts in the Netherlands too, depends on what is cheapest. 1. Budget and Location So, I live in Germany, but I'm able to get some parts in the Netherlands too. I'm aiming at a budget around €750 2. Aim I am actually aiming at a gaming rig that can handle 1080p on higher/ultra settings. I'm not looking for a rig that will be able to handle 4K, as it is a bit too expensive for a student like me. Also I don't want it to be my main home computer to edit files and work on for school, as I have a laptop too. 3. Monitors I already have a single, older HD monitor that has VGA input. I'll maybe expand my monitors or buying a new one in the future. 4. Peripherals I already have a simple mouse, keyboard and headphones. I'm probably going to run Windows 8.1 Embedded Pro on the rig. 5. Why are you upgrading? Actually, I'm still a console peasant and would like to join the master-race. All hail lord and savior Gaben. Also I'm probably going to upgrade the SSD at the moment it is almost full. Thanks for your interest! -Dan

I build a new desk top, but the GPU (MSI GeForce GTX 960 4G) is just not working. When I check Nvidia control panel, it recognize the graphic card, but the frame rate is just way too low. I have tried to run the computer without the graphic card and solely with my Intel CPU the frame rate is no different with when I use the graphic card. Can anyone tell me is it because I need to change any settings or its just compatibility problems with my computer? here is my build: MSI GeForce GTX 960 4GB Video Card Intel Core i5-4590 3.3GHz Quad-Core Processor MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory Sandisk Ultra II 480GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Corsair CSM 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply Asus PCE-N15 802.11b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case Here is a link of my build on PCpartpicker: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/waiw.tres%40gmail.com/saved/xJcD4D

Hey everyone, I want to build a new pc but really don't know how to get best performance for your money. Budget & Location My budget is around €1000 - €1300. I live in europe, so I'm talking in euros Aim I want to play GTA V smoothly on high settings with a nice fps, the same goes for Just Cause 3. Monitors I'm starting of with one, but I might wanna upgrade to 2 in a later stage, but I think i'll stay with one monitor foe gaming. The second one for working stuff. Peripharels I only need a monitor, I already have a mouse and keyboard etc. I'm upgrading because my current pc, alienware x51, can't handle GTA V really well. It handles 30 fps on very low settings. And it can't handle JC3 at all. I already put something together. Tell me what you think of it! http://pcpartpicker.com/p/bqBMzy https://docs.google.com/document/d/1X702BJPiiJilUizOiZ38yMpezYcWLwDO2poi-hMfNHk/edit?usp=sharing (this one is in euros and i will be able to order them all in holland.) Thanks in advance  UPDATE!!!!!! I've made an update, i think this is what I'm gonna go with now: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/7TXx8d

Hello, so I have been researching for the past 3 hours at least and I decided that I might want to get the GTX 960 2GB Strix from Asus, but I have no idea if it is compatible with all of my parts. My computer specs are as follows: Alienware X51R2 Intel Core i3-4130 CPU @ 3.40GHz 8GB of ram(not sure what brand) Nvidia GeForce GTX 645 with 1gb of VRAM Dell Precision M4600 180 Watt AC Adapter I'm not that informed with the specs of my computer as I got it straight off the alienware website. What has been concerning me though is that I have no idea on how much wattage my current GPU uses, and if i'll have enough for this card. If not, does anybody know any other good suggestions on cheap-ish GPUs that are better than the GTX 645 for under $250? thanks for reading!

Helllooo I want to build my own PC, I've never built one before, so don't be too harsh on me XP BUDGET/LOCATION: I think I'm going to spend about €1000 on the hardware, I live in the Netherlands btw. AIM: I want to play games like GTA V and Just Cause 3 on it, my old alienware x51 can't handle jc3 Best would be, if it would run these games on ultra settings or very high but I don't know what you can get for €1000. MONITORS: Right now I've got a old square monitor, but I want to upgrade to a new HD, maybe UHD, Monitor. Then I want to keep this old monitor as a secondary monitor. PERIPHERALS: I've already got G502 for the mouse and G430 as my headset. But as I said, I might wanna upgrade to a newer better monitor voor an extra €200 or so. I already have a harddrive from my old pc, with Windows 8(I can't upgrade it to win10 so that might be a thing) But cabn I use this Harddrive in my new pc so that I don't have to buy Windows? If I want windows 10 though, I think I've gotta buy a new windows because it currently won't upgrade, it crashes everytime... WHY AM I UPGRADING: I'm upgrading because my current pc, Alienware x51(with gtx 645) can't handle jc3 and sometimes stutters with gta v. I also would really like to play these games on high settings. I already made something myself(what do you think, any tips?): CPU: Intel i5 6600 GPU: MSI GeForce GTX960 4GB Case: NZXT Noctis 450 SSD: Samsung EVO 250GB (For booting up windows and for games) Motherboard: MSI Z170A Gaming pro RAM: HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4-2133 PSU: Corsair CX430M Wi-Fi: TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 HDD: As I said, I already have a HDD of 1 TB with Windows 8(which won't upgrade) Thanks in advance for taking your time Have a great day
