Hey Linus Tech Tips forum! I am Emperor Pheno! I am new to the forum, but I've been watching the youtube channel for quite a while. I want to talk a bit about my self, kind of as an introduction; I am Norwegian, specifically from the cold north. I like video-games and I also stream them (https://www.twitch.tv/coffeekingpheno)! I have a discord channel for my stream, and I would really appreciate if you would drop by and say hello! (https://discord.gg/jCEKhXz). I have a dog and two cats, so you can say I am really social. I don't know what other things I can say now, other than that LST has really boosted my interests with computers!

First we have the Zinger chicken sandwich that was send to space. Next there is the KFC smart phone, and now we have the KFC GamerBox 2.0. The gamerbox comes with a single split bluetooth game controller, that's attached to each side of the box, with plastic clip on top for your smartphone so you can play games, while you eat. The clip also doubles as a soda can holder, where it comes with Mountain Dew, since KFC partner with them to come up with this unique gaming device. KFC GamerBox 2.0 is only available in India, so outside of India wants one of this, well need to hit up on their social media and see if they can win one through their contest. http://wccftech.com/kfc-chicken-box-game-controller/

Hello everyone!!! First of all, I would like to say that I am not an English speaker, sorry if I make some mistakes. Let me introduce you to my situation, which, I think, is very common. I am in Europe, working as a Web Developer. Despite my setup at my work, I have my own laptop for study my stuffs and play. It is not a good laptop for play (it hasn't a dedicated GPU) and it is not a good laptop for study most of the computer languages and topics (Windows, even though, is becoming easier): Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4702MQ CPU @ 2.20GHz RAM 8.0 GB Video Card Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 I watched LTT video about Razer Stealth and Core, and I loved that, I thought about buying it, but I found it really expensive and, as he said, I think it is not the moment. Also I like to have mobility, just saying. Knowing this, and in your criteria, which is the best way to update my equipment? Waiting forward to your comments!

I am 24. I live in my Mothers backyard. In an RV. I am a low budget, low rent gamer. An enthusiast at heart. Buying PC parts at the thrift store I am simply looking for peeps to game, learn, and advance with. PC building has become a passion of mine. Something I always thought I knew about until I finally got my hands dirty. System: Corsair 230T (Rebel Orange) Asrock z170 Fatality Gaming K4 Mobo i3 6100 (OC'd to 4.1 Ghz via BCLK method) Powercolor RX460 2gb (Slight OC via TRIXX) 8GB Corsair ValueSelect DDR4 (1066 mhz) Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD 3TB HDD Note: I realize that this is a very "unbalanced" rig. This rig is intended as my "Future Proof" or "Future-Ready" machine. I currently play everything at 1080p. I plan to upgrade to a "k" Series cpu to fully utilize my z170 board once they drop in price a bit around Zen time. (Fingers crossed) I am currently saving up for a legit GPU, this one is getting me by just fine for now. Also looking for some decent BF1/BF4 players to hook up with. (US WEST SERVERS) Anyway... i was just stopping in to say Hi. Let me know if you have any question about living in a RV in the dead of winter in your mother backyard. Or Let me know if you have any ideas for my setup (See Pictures). I am working with very limited space and built this desk into the bathroom of the RV. Happy gaming yall!

Hello friends! I would recently armare my PC, and wanted to know what they think of the parts, if everything will be compatible or recommend something ... 2. The goal is to have a PC for games (far cry 3 and others), 3d render, animation. 3. mainly a normal monitor, for budget matters I want to invest first in performance and graphics, then move to a 4k monitor. 4. I plan to have Win10, and common peripherals. Here is the list of parties: Peripheral and case: Which UPS should I buy? 750va or 1000va? Thanks for the answers! -

Hi. I an editor and a gamer. I need a headphone or headset for both needs. *When it comes to sound quality, editing is more important. *I also need a great and clear mic for gaming. *I don't want a separate mic because of space. *I'm OK with the combination of headphone and boom. or any other suggestion *Budget is 125 USD. I might be ok with higher prices in certain options. *Last of all, surround sound will be appreciated but it's not very important. *Being comfortable is really important. Thanks.

Greetings! Lately I've been receiving a lot of phone calls from coworkers who typically close the building at night, and it's always around the time that me and my brother are elbow deep in ranked Rocket League 2v2's. I'm sitting here with a sweet mic and headphone set-up wondering why the heck I couldn't just hit a hotkey and accept an incoming call. So, I decide to look that stuff up. Lots of programs and apps link your phone and pc to send and receive sms, and some even say they can send phone calls, but NOTHING allows you to take incoming calls. I found an old post from 2016 on this forum asking why they couldn't connect their phone to their pc via Bluetooth to do this, and there was not conclusion to that discussion. I'm at a loss here. I'd REALLY like to be able to do this, but can't find anything that will let me link my phone and number to my pc and take calls without using Skype. Call center programs seem like they're specifically designed for professional use, so does anyone know anything about those? I'm really curious to see if any of you know anything about this. I'm extra dumb this week, so let me know if I left out some important info, and I'll try to get back to you asap. Thanks!

Hello LTT Forum, My first post here. I've been watched LTT videos a long time now but instead of that making it easy to chose a new laptop that makes it even harder to select the new wheels for my rides. Here is the deal: I work as a pre-sales system engineer doing a lot of demonstrations on the go that requires mostly some CPU power, Lots of RAM and a good disk I/O. Currently I have an AORUS X3 PRO v1 with an I7-4860HQ, 16GB of RAM, a GTX 870M and two Liteon SSDs in RAID 0. This laptop is a tank. Despite the battery is now pretty useless (20 - 40 min tops) everything else is pretty damn good. So with my memory limited by the DDR3 technology from 4 years ago now and the VMs getting Bigger and Bigger, I have to switch to a new laptop. After a few weeks of reserch i came to no conclusion but at least i got a list of requirements and i hope you guys can help me up with the election. The requirements are: At least 32GB of RAM and option to be upgraded to at least 64GB of ram in the future. A good CPU, more cores means more VMs but I'm good with 4 HyperThread Cores. At least two NVMe SSD slots. HD space is always good but i have 512GB today anything beyond that is awesome. An OK graphics card with discrete graphics (mostly for battery performance) I like to game from time to time, mostly CS:GO and Kerbal Space Program. since i'm getting pretty good fps on the current GTX 870m i think that anything around GTX 1060 or bigger is gonna be OK. I enjoy a good laptop design so that should be a bonus. It needs to be reliable and is the manufacturer have international support even for a fair price I'll prefer this guy(forgot to mention that i live in Brasil) The price should be around $2000 USD less the best, a little more is OK. The dollar to Brazilian real ratio right now is close to 4 to 1 so a 2000 dollar laptop is around 8000 BRL that is 8 time the smallest salary on the country(for a registered worker). Having a SDCard reader is a bonus but no deal breaker. 1080p display with a good amount of nits is perfect, the Aorus does have the 3K WQsomething monitor that is beautiful and all but the lack of support to high res monitors on Windows and a few software(windows at least does an OK job) really bugs me. During my research I saw a lot of laptops with a few getting more interesting: MSI GS65 - liked everything despite the fact that i'll be forever stuck at 32gb of RAM Razer Blade 15 2018 - same problem 32gb of RAM, the 2019 version have support to 64GB of RAM but the price is a little to far. Thinkpad X1 Extreme - Better candidate so far, Thermos kind of stress me a little. Ugly as hell. Thinkpad P52 - Most powerfull I've ever seen, expensive, reaaaaaally ulgy =P Acer Predator Helios 500 with AMD hardware - The 8 core 16 thread almost got me buuuuut the size and amount of kilos that it will cost me was kind of a bummer. Also didn't find any info if that supports 64GB in the future. Hope you guys can help me out on this one. Best, Raphael

I am new to building my own PCs but have quite a bit of experience with hardware and gaming. I was thinking of building the following build by paying with my soul, social security number and kidneys. But before I do I wanted to make sure I got nothing wrong. BTW in know the build is OTT but I’m hoping it’ll last at least 5 years. Build on PcPartPicker

Hey beautiful people, So I have a friend who suffers from Muscular dystrophy, a disease in which your muscles and bones degenerate over time. He is 28 years old, weighs 90kg and has not stepped out of his apartment house for over 12 years (since his apartment does not have an elevator and his parents are too old to lift him around). If the pandemic has taught me anything, then its that life is short and you need to see the world when you can. He is a beautiful person, tech enthusiast and a heavy gamer and I want to do this for him I want to build him a powered chair and I want your help with what kind of motor I should choose. A normal industrial-grade DC motor (the e-bike motors) won't do because it just is too fast and even if I slow it down with a gear assembly, its low torque makes it dangerous for him to control because of low handling (he has brittle bones too). So I need something with a high torque, like a servo motor, which my friend can control very precisely. Speed is not a goal here. Safe mobility is. But a servo motor is not continuous in its rotation but I would very much like something with as much control as that. So can you people please help me out in choosing an appropriate motor(s)? Experienced members can even tell me its wattage, and other technical specs. I'm a mechanical engineer, I will understand Please note: I am an excellent fabricator (I can definitely build something swanky that supports his weight and still look cool) with intermediate level of expertise when it comes to electronics and control systems using basic computers such as arduino and raspberry pi. So please do not hold back if you have got in-depth ideas. Many might be thinking - there are ready to use power chairs out there, why not go for it? Reason is - we're in Mumbai (India) and they're just not available here. Import duty alone will be 5x the product itself and the pandemic makes nothing easier. Also, there's something fun about DIY projects so there's that too haha (same reason why we love building PCs when you can buy an pre-built Origin or NZXT eh? ). Down the line, after this basic problem is tackled, I plan to slap some RGB underglow and what not on this as well haha, I shall be posting the progress pictures if the community is interested Thanks people :)

Hi everyone, I am new to these forums and I hope you can help me and advise me .. I want to upgrade my gamer PC which is already obsolete (phenom 2 x4 965BE 16GB) ... currently I only have 1000 dollars to do this renovation, where I just want to change board, CPU and memory. In the course of 6 months or before I plan to invest another 1000 in the GPU maybe an RTX 2070 or 2080 .. .. but in the meantime my dilemma is that it is the best thing I can buy now (board, CPU and RAM) with these 1000 dollars .. for now I think I can handle the 8GB RX480 that I already have. I am thinking of a core i7 10700x ($ 400), 32GB ram 2 * 16 3200 ($ 150 approx), this means that I have 450 dollars to invest in board and cooling ... and this is where my big dilemma is .. I am not interested in GRB lighting, I want quality and performance ... what do you recommend ??? Thank you.
