  1. (Europe ALL SM-G930F) that is what i see mostly. ( it supports root and twrp). Hmmm but SM-G930??? no info on it
  2. Hello Guys! I am canvassing for a Gaming PC in the Mid-Range-ish, Budget-wise-ish here in the Philippines and I'm looking at PC Hub and Easy PC for the parts. I have a lots of configurations but my threshold is 30,000php. And I want to hear from you guys what you think of this build. I'll start with the cheapest build. ~ CPU: Core i3-6100 3.7GHZ 2C/4T = 5,400php MOBO: Gigabyte H110M Gaming 3 LGA1151 = 3,970php RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4gb DDR4 = 2,240php GPU: Asus GTX950 Strix OC 2gb = 8,370php HDD: 1TB Seagate = 2,350php PSU: Thermaltake TR2 500W 80+ Bronze = 2,020php CASING: Cooler Master N300 With Clear Side Panel = 2,050php Total: 26,400php (550U$D) ~ Well it's not the cheapest in the world, but I am aiming for a flexible, or rather "future-proof" PC in a budget-kind-of-way. I picked a Skylake Proc so that I know someday, I could upgrade it for a more higher kind (like a 6700k). I want you to give me advice on this build or if you know other shops that have a more competitive prices, let me know, that would be pretty awesome. PS. I also have another list where I put a Z170 mobo in it and if you want to see that list let me know. Salamat!
  3. Hi there! I've got a dillema: Which config should I choose? 1) MSI B85-G43 DDR3 LGA1150 Intel Core i7-4790K HyperX DDR3 2x 4GB 1600 MHz CL10 FURY Red 2) MSI X99A RAIDER s2011-3 X99A DDR4 RAID/USB3.1 A Intel Core i7-5820K 2X Kingston HyperX FURY DDR4 DIMM 4GB 2666MHz #1 is well established config that performs superb in all the benchmarks I've seen and, from what I've heard, it should be more than enough for current home PC applications ( even faster than newer #2 ) It's much cheaper, too, and cutting some costs would be good for me. On the other hand, #2 seems to be more future-proof. It has more recent CPU socket, DDR4 compatibility, and I guess it will be more upgrade-able in the future. Should I be concerned about it? What's the real difference between DDR4 and DDR3, besides power-savings important for large server farms? Will LGA1150 socket become obsolete? Will LGA2011-3 supersede it altogether? I'm using my PC for work (with text, programming), some amateur multimedia editing and gaming. And I'm using Linux as my only OS. I'm aware that both of those are overkill for my needs, but I want to acquire a build that would last for at least another few years. Poor people can not afford cheap stuff. Thanks in advance for every advice! Cheers!
  4. I will be upgrading my pc build soon from a athlon x4 860k gtx 750ti. Is the i7 5820k worth the extra money along with a more expensive motherboard over the i7 6700k? I want this build to last me a long time (5-6 years) also im planning to pair this with a gtx 970 or gtx 1070 in the future. at the moment i will be pairing it with my old gtx 705ti (i know this is a major bottle neck. I will be gaming and doing alot of video editing/ photoshop on this pc.
  5. I am building a gaming rig should i go with a 5820 and overclock it or go 6700k and overclock it slightly. Assuming no price variations on either choices.
  6. Hey guys, I posted my previous build already, I'll link it when I find the post Also, total budget is 2k-2,200 at max for the base build, and 4k-6k for the Dominator upgrade. I'm considering this build because for the price of one 980Ti I can get two GTX 970's, or just get one 970 and get a second one later, while saving up for a more powerful upgrade (Hint Hint, Dominator ^.^ Here's the list GTX 970 (Possible SLI later)- PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/nJqf3C CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor (Purchased For $376.12) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.44 @ Amazon) Motherboard: Asus SABERTOOTH Z97 MARK 1/USB 3.1 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (Purchased For $236.00) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (Purchased For $85.95) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($84.89 @ OutletPC) Storage: Western Digital BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($73.89 @ OutletPC) Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4GB Video Card ($378.99 @ SuperBiiz) Case: NZXT Phantom (Black/Green) ATX Full Tower Case (Purchased For $118.11) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (Purchased For $79.99) Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($17.78 @ OutletPC) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM (64-bit) ($89.99 @ NCIX US) Case Fan: Cooler Master SickleFlow 69.7 CFM 120mm Fan (Purchased For $9.99) Case Fan: Cooler Master SickleFlow 69.7 CFM 120mm Fan (Purchased For $9.99) Case Fan: Cooler Master SickleFlow 69.7 CFM 120mm Fan (Purchased For $9.99) Case Fan: BitFenix Spectre Pro LED 148.7 CFM 200mm Fan (Purchased For $26.24) Case Fan: BitFenix Spectre Pro LED 148.7 CFM 200mm Fan (Purchased For $26.24) Case Fan: BitFenix Spectre Pro LED 86.7 CFM 140mm Fan (Purchased For $16.90) Mouse: Logitech G502 Wired Optical Mouse ($79.00 @ Logitech) Total: $1749.50 GTX 980Ti (For a single-GPU system, no SLI)- PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/c4RXxr CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor (Purchased For $376.12) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.44 @ Amazon) Motherboard: Asus SABERTOOTH Z97 MARK 1/USB 3.1 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (Purchased For $236.00) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (Purchased For $85.95) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($84.89 @ OutletPC) Storage: Western Digital BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($73.89 @ OutletPC) Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Video Card ($688.99 @ SuperBiiz) Case: NZXT Phantom (Black/Green) ATX Full Tower Case (Purchased For $118.11) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (Purchased For $79.99) Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($17.78 @ OutletPC) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM (64-bit) ($89.99 @ NCIX US) Case Fan: Cooler Master SickleFlow 69.7 CFM 120mm Fan (Purchased For $9.99) Case Fan: Cooler Master SickleFlow 69.7 CFM 120mm Fan (Purchased For $9.99) Case Fan: Cooler Master SickleFlow 69.7 CFM 120mm Fan (Purchased For $9.99) Case Fan: BitFenix Spectre Pro LED 148.7 CFM 200mm Fan (Purchased For $26.24) Case Fan: BitFenix Spectre Pro LED 148.7 CFM 200mm Fan (Purchased For $26.24) Case Fan: BitFenix Spectre Pro LED 86.7 CFM 140mm Fan (Purchased For $16.90) Mouse: Logitech G502 Wired Optical Mouse ($79.00 @ Logitech) Total: $2059.50 And the Finale, my Dominator upgrade (Which will not include storage, as the previous SSD and hard drive as well as OS and DVD drive will carry over)- PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/X3BRQ7 CPU: Intel Core i7-5960X 3.0GHz 8-Core Processor ($999.99 @ SuperBiiz) CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i GTX 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($102.88 @ Amazon) Motherboard: Asus SABERTOOTH X99 ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard ($308.99 @ SuperBiiz) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB (8 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($437.35 @ Amazon) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX Titan X 12GB Superclocked Video Card (2-Way SLI) ($1028.99 @ B&H) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX Titan X 12GB Superclocked Video Card (2-Way SLI) ($1028.99 @ B&H) Case: NZXT Phantom (Black/Green) ATX Full Tower Case (Purchased For $118.11) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P2 1000W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($186.99 @ SuperBiiz) Case Fan: Cooler Master SickleFlow 69.7 CFM 120mm Fan (Purchased For $9.99) Case Fan: Cooler Master SickleFlow 69.7 CFM 120mm Fan (Purchased For $9.99) Case Fan: Cooler Master SickleFlow 69.7 CFM 120mm Fan (Purchased For $9.99) Case Fan: BitFenix Spectre Pro LED 148.7 CFM 200mm Fan (Purchased For $26.24) Case Fan: BitFenix Spectre Pro LED 148.7 CFM 200mm Fan (Purchased For $26.24) Case Fan: BitFenix Spectre Pro LED 86.7 CFM 140mm Fan (Purchased For $16.90) Total: $4311.64 What do you guys think? 7. Greetings reader, I'm planning on upgrading or in other words replacing parts of my rig because i just damaged my MOBO(Gigabyte*something*) and CPU(AMD Phenom II X6 Processor). I was using the CM 690 II case with Cooler Master GX650 power supply and Corsair H100 for CPU cooler and i want to continue using them. I don't plan on changing my HDD, Optical drive, case fans or other little things. Before we begin i need you, the reader to know that :- *I always prefer Intel over AMD and Nvidia over ATI. I don't want to start a war, it's just my preference.BTW, i was using the above mentioned AMD processor and ATI 6850 before so i'm not being biased or anything. *I don't plan on overclocking. 1. For CPU i was thinking of going with the new Skylake processor 6600 or 6600K. I'm not sure which one to go for. 2. For MOBO i was thinking of going with Gigabyte Z170 D3H because my senior colleague advised me to go for Gigabyte's 'Ultra Durable' motherboards. I want to stick around $200 or so and i'm also open for other suggestions. -I will need 16GB DDR4 or may be more for the upgrade. But 16GB is a good start. -In the future, not the near future, i plan on using a Nvidia Quadro card too along with a GTX for rendering purposes as i'm an architect and i also work on 3Ds and graphics. So that means i need two PCI ex slots. Not one of the strong requirements but yea, i would like that. -I will need the motherboard to be strong and reliable for the long run. -I'm willing to spend $200-$250 or so for the MOBO. 3. For GPU i'm confused between GTX 760 2GB and GTX 960 4GB. GTX970 or above goes above my budget. As mentioned above along with playing games i would i also like to render and work on 2D and 3D applications even before instaling the Quadro(later future add-on). I would really appreciate you someone can help me out in my quest.

  9. Hi, Im planning to build a new pc gaming for 1080p display, This is my build : Motherboard ASUS H81M-E CPU i3 4150 with Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO GPU MSI GTX 960 2GD5T OC RAM CORSAIR VENGEANCE BLACK 8GB (1X8) i choose one singgle channel ram because i want to upgrade later if necessary HDD WDC 1TB CAVIAR BLUE SSD SAMSUNG 850 EVO 120GB PSU SEASONIC M12II-520 520W MODULAR - BRONZE CASE NZXT SOURCE 210 (NOT ELITE EDITION BECAUSE THE MOBO NOT SUPPORT 3.0 FRONT PANEL USB) ASUS DVD RW WINDOWS 8.1 WITH LG 21.5" INCH MONITOR IPS PANEL I want to ask is this good build for 4 year playing brand new game for medium setting at 40+ fps? Is the CPU not bottlenecking? Should I change the CPU to i5 4460? OR should I change the CPU,GPU (to 970), and the MOBO( to h97 if necesarry)? THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP, ANDDDDDDD SORRY FOR BAD ENGLISH
  10. 'sup (^__^)/), I'm planning on upgrading my lil PC a bit since it's getting too weak for my taste. Playing witcher 3 or GTA V on a 1440p monitor with a GTX 680 isn't the best idea imho So i'm planning on upgrading it. I have a few ideas on how i want to do it but i can't decide which way to go >__< Let's start with the current PC: Intel i7 5960x + watercooling Asus Rampage V extreme 16GB Crucial ballistix sport DDR4 Asus GTX680 DC2T (my problem >__>) Corsair Air 540 256GB SSD + 2TB HDD Asus PB278Q + IIyama Prolite XB2779QS XFX 1250W 3 options: 2x 980ti Reference (which i plan to watercool in the future, maybe at the end of summer) + 4k Monitor (Asus PB279Q/ Acer B276HK) 2x Gigabyte 980ti G1 Gaming + 4k Monitor 2x 980ti ref. and watercool em and wait for the Asus PG27AQ What do i want to do with the PC: playing in 4k would be nice VR gaming future proof, i can't spend this much money every year on my PC >__< browsing, light to medium video/photo editing and other daily stuff Which of the options should i choose in your opinion and please tell me why ^^ I kinda think option 1 and 2 are the most interesting ones since i have never seen a 4k monitor, only a bad 4k TV And if you have any better ideas let me hear em btw i will sell my IIyama monitor to make this upgrade a little bit more affordable i kinda prefer NVidia but not because i'm a fanboy, i had a 7970 but had problems with it and i kinda like the features i get from NV. so an AMD Fury X isn't really an option for me unless it beats the crap out of the 980ti but i will certainly wait till it's released even if it means just a little price drop for the 980ti ^^ Oh and if you have any recommendations for monitors, i only want IPS, can't stand TN panels >__< let me hear what you guys think and i hope you can help me (=^__^=) Cheers (^__^)/) -TomsTechGaming
  11. Hi! I'm currently confused on what PSU to get right now. On one hand, I can just get a 750-850W PSU to power my single R9 390X. On the other hand, I can get a 1000-1200W PSU that can already power Crossfire R9 390X. However, the latter option will only happen after 4 years. I am exploring this option to lengthen my gaming rig's* life. I plan to game on 1440p (actually 1600 x 2560). What do you think I should do? Should I get the 750-850W PSU for now and then figure out how to swap it later for a bigger PSU once the time come for Crossfire R9 390X? I do recognize that I am wasting the capability of a strong PSU if I am only to power one 390X for 4 years. *Gaming rig is still in the works. Currently saving up! 10% away from seed money
  12. I wanna upgrade my pc but I'm not sure if I should go amd or nvidia. Right now I have an R9 270x and I'm a little bit curious about trying out an nvidia card. It would also be cheaper to get the 970 because I really want the new Metal Gear Solid game that comes free with the nvidia card. I don't want to buy a new gpu for a couple of years and the R9 390 seems more "future proof" with 8gb vram. I also heard something about amd having better DX12 performance but I have not really researched about that.
  13. I'm building a new rig soon and I was wondering if anyone has any advice/an opinion on GPU and CPU choice. The current build I am planning involves an i7-4790k and an MSI GTX980. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/X4vKQ7 What do you think of the price to performance difference between an i5-4690k and an i7-4790k? What do you think of the price to performance difference between an MSI GTX 970 and an MSI GTX 980? Is the extra money I am thinking of spending worth it to "future-proof" my build more? Or am I wasting my money for not much of a boost in performance? At the moment it's around a £300 increase to get the i7 980 over the i5 970. Should I get a different combination e.g. i5 980? Any advice or opinions will be appreciated! Edit: Whilst I'm here, does the 360mm AIO seem overkill? Should i just get a 240mm or 280mm instead? Rig to be used for gaming at 1440p and then maybe 4k in a few years if I can afford to add a second GPU. Thanks for the advice guys: general consensus seems to be that i7 is overkill for gaming but 980 is nice if you have the cash. Any advice on the watercooling issue?
  14. Hi LTT community! In two weeks I'll be purchasing a build which I'll use mostly for gaming(civ/cities skylines/space and medieval engineers/dragon age etc) and HD video editing(Adobe suite). I've decided to future proof as much as I can afford so I can edit in 4K up to a point and perhaps do some Cinema 4D or after effects stuff. Below is a link to my chosen components (over at pc part picker). Mostly HD, maybe 4K. Equal editing and gaming. I'm pretty much settled about this build at this point, after a few months of researching and watching a lot of LTT, but what I was wondering is, does anybody have any suggestions on how I could improve this build? While staying within my £2350 budget and keeping in mind I'll use this equally for gaming and visual media stuff. Lastly, If any of you have or are planning to build a PC suited for similar tasks as myself I'd like to know what you have chosen and why. Thanks! Hazmus
  15. So I am building my first gamin/work desktop and am kind of at a stand point. I don't know what CPU to choose. I decided on a case, power supply, gpu, motherboard for the mainstream intel and amd builds, etc... but don't know what CPU to use. I did some basic research and found that going with a quad core cpu is better than a dual core cpu even with hyper-threading. This seems to be the case because of the way the physical cores process work vs how virtual cores process work. My personal ideas were to either go with an Intel Pentium G3258 or an AMD Athlon X4 860k. I am also looking for a CPU that won't be outdated anytime soon. What do you guys think? And better suggestions?
  16. Hey guys (*this is Austin*), I really need some help deciding which graphics card to buy for an old AMD rig I want to update. I don't necessarily have a true budget for the card, but I am looking to get the best price to performance ratio I can get from a higher tier card. I also want my card to last a few years maxing most games (especially keeping in mind their driver support and developer support, i.e. nvidia lately) as my 1080p monitor life dies out. I'm open to suggestions, even cards like the new R9 Fury.
  17. I'm planning out my new PC build with the idea of making it "future proof" in the sense that I dont want to build a rig using the older tech ddr3 etc, now that the next gen is out. Even though it will take awhile before the potential of ddr4 is really realized. Also plan on adding an additional gtx 970 to run in sli down the road but will stick with a single card for now. Plan on OC the cpu hopefully to around 4.6ghz. Please give any advice about parts that you think should be swapped. I know I could get some extra clock out of an evga or msi 970 rather than the Asus, but worried about compatibilty on the bios since most of these parts are brand new. 18. iv seen a lot of new games coming out having the recommended CPU be the fx-8350 and iv heard that since the new consoles have an 8 core CPU that games with start to take advantage of more cores. so do you think it would be worth the $170 to upgrade to help future proof it? Also do you think my fx-6300 is bottle-necking my current rig? My specs are: GPU- GIGABYTE WINDFORCE GHz edition 780 CPU-FX-6300 RAM- 8GB MOBO- ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 and an aftermarket air cooled heatsink(forgot the model). Thanks for any help guys
  19. Thinking about buying the ASUS G751 with a 970m, plan to keep it for ~4 years, would like to only upgrade the GPU maybe once, will 3gb of VRAM be enough for at least medium settings on 1080p for a while?
  20. Hey, I have been watching Linus Tech Tips for 2 months now after being linked to the . Great videos and live streams, great knowledge base for PC building from what I have seen. Budget: £1400 Location: London, UK Aim: I have finished university and I am going to focus more on video production which will include 3D work from time-to-time. So I want a quiet, video production build with future proofing in mind. I mainly play MineCraft but the focus of this build needs to be for Video Production, although the upcoming games I am planning to play are Total War: Rome II, Civ5, COH2, GTAV, Battlefield 4, Saints Row 4, maybe Titanfall. Monitors: 2 for now but eventually a 3-screen bezel layout for workplace efficiency. Peripherals: I am okay for Keyboard & Mice for now, but I am thinking about the Razer Deathadder 2013 because I owned the original before I was robbed. For a keyboard, maybe Ducky Shine II keyboard with Cherry MX Brown keys, even the Shine III coming soon. For the software I am aiming to get Windows 7 Professional instead of Home Premium so I have the option to get 32GB RAM or more. Why upgrading? I got a custom PC from PCSpecialist nearly 10 years ago and it has aged a lot, so it won't handle video production tasks and even Company of Heroes 1. A future-proof orientated build is necessary so I can upgrade when I can to spend more on one part than a few compatible ones. Latest Initial Build: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor (Hyper-threading an advantage for video production and future of gaming processing) Noctua NH-U12P SE2 54.4 CFM CPU Cooler (40mm CPU clearance & quiet) Asus SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard (more reliable than formula) G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (40mm height) Toshiba 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive EVGA GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card Asus Xonar DSX 24-bit 192 KHz Sound Card (don't want to reply on the on-board sound card) NZXT Phantom (White/Red) ATX Full Tower Case (gorgeous case, fell in love) NZXT Air Flow Series 83.6 CFM 140mm Fan (related to the red trim) NZXT FS-200RB-RLED 89.5 CFM 200mm Fan (related to the red trim) NZXT HALE 90 850W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply (reliable & efficient) Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer (just in case) Microsoft Windows 7 Professional SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) (RAM can be 32GB or more) 2x Acer H236HLBmjd 23 inch Widescreen IPS LED Monitors (thin edges, good for bezel layout) Any help would be greatly appreciated, been researching to make this good for nearly 2 months now. First time building my own PC, so I'm nervous but have a year of ICT experience to be sure to build one for myself.
  21. Hi all, I've been contemplating picking up two EVGA 780Ti 3GB Classified Editions and was wondering if I would be able to play most games on 1440p maxed at 60fps for the near future. The question I had was should I hold off until the 780Ti 6GB comes out (if at all)? 24. Hi everyone, I found a sale in Canada for a Seasonic Platinum 750W PSU, and I'm currently building a custom PC right now that needs almost 460W according to PC part picker. How overkill is that PSU for a system that probably only needs 525 including my USB powered extras? I know the sweet spot for efficiency is around 50-70% of the PSU under load, and I've heard Linus say you should make sure you are at at least 20% of the PSU usage while idle to maintain the efficiency rating. Could anyone here give me some advice cause if it's a good part for my system I'll definitely buy it.
