Hi, I recently got a fake gtx 960 4gb. I'm trying to identify the card with no luck. I read around that the fake 960s are usually gts450 but the gpu isn't the gf106 or the gf116 (second rev gts450). The only thing i confirmed was the memory. There are 8 memory chips, from Samsung, 1gb of gddr5 total. The gpu has a weird name on it "PFU261.M00" also "12C2B433 1207A1 - S TAIWAN" I also have a CH341A programmer because nvflash didn't work. My question is, what bios to load in to the bios chip? (it's a PM25LQ020) Tried to find by matching the bios version i saw in the fake bios, tried to find by matching the board id number, tried to find by matching all of the above, plus the outputs that the card has. Also, on the board, there is a spot where a 6pin connector could be soldered but there no connection going to these solder points. Btw, when a flash the card with a bios, most of the times, the pc boots up but the screen is FILLED with vertical and horizontal lines and a few seconds later i get a bsod about nvlddmkm(i think?). Other times, the pc just wont boot and stays on a black screen just before the windows login screen. Can anyone help me flash the card to the original? Thank you so much in advance! Alex.

Hello, i was here to ask for anyone who can help me to identify my GPU. If you asking why ? it's because i was bought a fake Bulldozer GT 730 2GB DDR3 128bit, and wanted to reflash the bios with the original one. I have tested the memory and it's only have 1GB of memory. Here's the gpu spec from GPU-Z Also i have known that this gpu can't use newer driver as when the driver being installed, it didn't detect the gpu, but the 391.35 works fine from Nvidia. I wonder if anyone would help me on this and if you needed some information, just tell me what do you need. Thanks ! ps: here is the gpu pict

First saw an advertisement on Instagram app. It was MSI branded ad claiming 500 pieces of GTX1080TI at price match. So I clicked on the link hoping that it will be MSI factory store selling the GPU at MSRP. To my surprise the prices listed were $120 for MSI GAMING GeFroce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB GDRR5X DirectX 12 352-bit VR. I was in a shock and almost placed the order and just before registering on the website, I realised that the Favicon for the websites was a spider. That made me check the reliability of the website. After doing some tinkering I was not able to find the link of the website on MSI's official website. After reading all of the content on the fake website, I realised there have not mentioned any contact details, company name, address, contact number etc. Then clicking on the social media buttons on their website took me to the home page of the respective social media. I thanked my stars that I am web developer and have sound knowledge about how websites work and I did not get fooled by the astronomically low prices and way it hit me. For almost a minute I was blinded towards the authenticity of the website until I really gave it a thought. After looking at the Who.is details of the domain name, I realised it is registered to someone in Asia and is probably someone trying to sell their used mining cards for cheap. This is to inform the general public that they should look into the authenticity of a website before making a purchase online. Stay safe! PS: Link to the website : http://msi-stores.com/

I mean, it's a pretty straightforward question, but I have no clue about BIOS flashing with regards to graphics cards. For those unaware, I'm talking about on of these graphics cards going around on Ebay, which have been getting a lot of coverage on YouTube recently. I bought one and want to legitimise it so that the BIOS says it's what it actually is. Has anyone tried this? Would I be able to flash it with a reference 550Ti BIOS? Where would I get the files to flash it? I know it would serve no performance difference or any functional difference.

So while browsing youtube on my phone I just came across an ad on the app for a fortnite android beta. Upon closer inspection the video instructs you to download a third party app from a separate website. Clearly this isn't official, clearly this would install malware or some other form of bad code into individuals phones. I don't understand how youtube was able to clear this ad when it is clearly bs and potentially harmful.

Hello guys! I need your help and tell me if the gtx 1080 I’m going to purchase is real or fake. I’ve seen some MSI gtx 1080 Aeros and as you’ll see in the pic the one from eBay has a green pcb and no logo on the one side. Anyway i got from the seller a video and benchmarking pic results. Do you think it’s real or fake ? Thanks in advance Benchmark pics (from seller): 1080p: http://puu.sh/A3bji/10678b092c.png 4K: http://puu.sh/A3bfd/d4ef086462.png Video (from seller):

So 2 days ago i bought two kingston kvr ram sticks. The guy showed me that the ram worked as he put it in a system and they were showing up in the bios. But when i came home and installed them , my task manager showed that only 4gb is being used and rest 4gb is hardware reversed. I did some troubleshooting and found that one stick was not working . I did this by installing single sticks and booting up. I also checked cpu -z and the manufacturer name and serial no. was missing. I talked to the guy and he said he would replace them . How would i know if still i am getting the real sticks ? I did some research and came up with this idea. I am gonna ask him for adata ram sticks as adata is the only which lets you register your ram online. If the ram is registered on the website then it would be an original one. The store from where i bought these is far away from where i live so like this i can check then and there at the store if it is original. I live in India and here online stores are too expensive for computer parts. Is my idea good or is there any easy way of recognising original ram ?

so i recently did an ebay search for razer since i wanted to get a new keyboard and mouse but a lot of these listings look very fake. This is my search https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=razer&rt=nc&LH_BIN=1 and these are some products i found , the razer overwatch mouse- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Razer-DeathAdder-Chroma-Multi-Color-Ergonomic-Gaming-Mouse-Overwatch-Edition/332607172105?epid=1145211160&hash=item4d70eeae09:g:easAAOSwwYpapr8Z or this razer deathadder- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Razer-DeathAdder-Ergonomic-6400DPI-4G-Sensor-DeathAdder-Classic-Mouse-Gaming-USB/332607171306?hash=item4d70eeaaea:g:pycAAOSwNZtZ2aVC does anyone think i should buy from ebay as many of thses listings seem way to cheap or are thsese legit?

OK, you know when you have a deal like this: THIS and the specs seems too good to be real? So I bought this and hoped for the best. It arrived after 3 weeks of shipping (I expected that, obviously...), and I think they want to ship the mouse in 3 weeks or later because we can't get a refund after 30 days... So, this is my review about this 1$ mouse. 1. DIDN'T F@(k!N& WORK, I had to resolder the wireless transmitter INSIDE the mouse to make it work. 2. They lied about the specs. They said the mouse was 2400DPI, but in my impression, wasn't higher than 200. 3. The left/right click buttons were trash. It's just a spring and a piece of metal shorting 2 pins. 4. Sensor was wierd. Did 360s sometimes when I shake it. 5. Scroll whell didn't work. Actually , there is a scroll wheel, but there is no sensor to detect if it was scrolling or not... 6. Macro/DPI buttons didn't work. In fact, they were just there for decorations purposes only... 7. Signal get blocked by most of solid materials. 8. Paint went off after 20 minutes of using (my hands are sweatty, but even extremely dry hands could make the paint go off) Overall: Well, I think you get it, if you didn't: DON'T BUY IT. Its extremely cheap and build quality was horrible (what do you expect???). However, it looks good and you can just ook it to your walla and use it as decoration...

I see alot of these fake ebay GTX 960's that are typically either GTS 450's or GTX 560's. I am actually trying to piece together a super cheap ( like under $70) PC that can basically run all of the games in the rockstar humble bundle and both of those older cards look perfect. My question is, is it possible to buy one of these fake cards, get the refund from ebay/paypal and then flash the proper bios to have a fully functional card or are these cards totally FUBAR when you get them? I know these cards are fairly inexpensive in general but hey, I'd take one for free vs shelling out 3/4 of the challenge budget on one. ( btw the breakdown of what I got is essentially an optiplex 780 with 4gb of RAM and Windows 7 I got for $20 and possibly $20 on a power supply (after rebates) and the rest on a GPU or, if this works out, more ram).

Some sellers on Aliexpress are just so stubborn, even after I provide evidence of the problem. I wanted to ask you guys if you think this 'Goodisk' card is real or not. At first the formatted capacity seems too high. After testing with H2testw, it was clear to me that I recieved a fake/hacked card. Even after showing the seller this, he refuses to believe it.

Card comes up on phone as "New Lexar SD card detected", and SD Insight tells me its Barun Electronics... Paid 40 for it, highly rated seller: Adorama Fake or just PNY out-sourcing?

Hey guys! I reinstalled Windows, added in some drives, partitioned my SSD, etc. Got my system running nice, as far as nice goes with my hardware, but I noticed that moving files from different locations on my SSD seemed to transfer a bit slower than the 550MB/s speeds that Samsung advertises for my 840 EVO. I didn't exactly want to settle on 200MB/s, so I did some testing with AS SSD benchmark, and my speeds were actually around the 450MB/s mark, faster than what I was getting with Windows transfers. Confusing. I downloaded the Samsung SSD software, and the benchmark within it said I was getting 550! What the hell. So I did the whole Samsung setup, OS optimizations that it has and stuff, and my benchmarks were around 4000MB/s. That doesn't seem right. I ran AS SSD and the benchmark also shows just over 3700MB/s read and write speeds. Very odd. I copied a 5GB file from my downloads folder onto my desktop, and it finished within seconds, but the read speeds only showed around 400MB/s in the small instance that it flashed by. Is there something I am missing or it this normal?

Just found this little gem on amazon and it has to be one of the worst fake flash media attempted coverups I have ever seen. Here are a few quotes from the listing: "16gb upgraded to 256GB USB 2.0 flash drive. Hot plug and play. Functions like another hard drive." "Using the H2testw can destroy the flash drive memory causing the software test to show that the flash drive is counterfeit or fake" Yep, totally a real drive! Just thought this was pretty funny.

Just curious about this. I recently received a LTT silver foil shit i ordered in mid/early July from Teespring. It is NOTHING at all like the shirts that Linus and look wear on the WAN show and in their videos. Is it possible that other 3rd parties are selling LTT shirts on Teespring for a profit. For reference, the shirts they wear are shiny and reflective, noticeable bright foil. Meanwhile, the one I received is basically grey, with small silver flecks in it that under some lighting conditions kind of sparkles, but thats it. I know @LinusTech is busy, but I really do hope that people aren't selling versions of his shirts on the side. Also, I do own a couple other LTT shirts, and they all have the logo on the back of the neck. The one I got yesterday (silver foil) does not have this. Not sure if this shirt just doesn't have that added in, or if it's another sign it may not be legitimate. I attached a reference pic of Linus in a gold one, as well as a picture of the silver (grey) one I got yesterday.

Hello everyone!!! Just thought I would post this here so that none of you fall for these. Recently some people have been modding the bios on old GTX 560s to make them look like GTX 960s in CPU-Z. However, can't fake shading units, which most of these show around 336, which is incorrect for the GTX 960, they have 1024 shading units. So please be very careful when buying GPUs on both eBay and Amazon. Here are some of the examples I came across: Example 1 eBay Example 2 eBay Example 3 eBay Example 4 Amazon

Post your experiences with this frequent scam! My best friend was trying to download Pixelmon for Minecraft and clicked one of those. His dad had to reinstall OSX Mavericks after that.

A fake company known as "Merlin CDLTD" has been stealing thousands of dollars of ad revenue from youtubers by abusing the copyright claim system. It is well known that youtube has a lot of issues, but this one can severely affect someone's channel, big or small. Merlin CDLTD manually claims people's videos for a variety of reasons that youtube allows, such as music, or audiovisual content. Since there is no verification system for these claims, the company automatically starts receiving the ad revenue from those videos. The content creator's only option is to dispute the claim, which Merlin then rejects causing a copyright strike on the channel (next level up from copyright claim). One strike limits the usable features that content creators have available. Having 3 strikes completely bans you from youtube and deletes all content. This quote is from Chad Will Clay, another youtuber with almost 200k subscribers. He managed to get them off his back by forcing them to take him to court or drop the claim, but smaller youtubers may not have this option or might not know what to do in this situation. There are many more people getting copyright strikes and losing money due to Merlin CDLTD Sources: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/youtube/uD4HqF6A9cg/j8t5y8qoeA4J https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/youtube/rL5mjzJXkL8/59qNk8HrEwAJ This is a serious issue and must be immediately addressed by youtube or many people are going to lose money, content, and possibly their job as a youtuber.
