So preface, none of this is an issue in the bnet version. So here are some of the rather perplexing issues. 1. Framerate drops/ stutters, seems almost like a vsync issue, but vsync is off , nvidia feflex+boost is on. changing fsr did nothing. 2. endorsements are messed up, enemy team is mixed up with your team in the endorsement screen... but... it gets worse, any game is shown as "abandoned" even though i never did so, what that probably means is endorsements cannot work because you don't get any for "abandoned" games... Also what does this mean for ranked? can you even play ranked and get your wins counted or also "abandoned"?? Has anyone with this issue tried? So does anyone know about this issue, has experienced them themselves? Or if Blizzard is even aware and plans to fix this??

So, I've recently been wondering about the "Login with [servicename] " for example "Login with google" and stuff like that. I'm wondering whether I could make an API like that, to connect my website and my game (FlyBall). To take the username from the website, and pass it to the highscore they get in the game. Is there anyone that could refer me to a tutorial about this kind of stuff? Thank you very much in advance.

Installing Firefox Developer Edition on Ubuntu Linux
EphraimK posted a topic in Guides and Tutorials
I actually found this to be a difficult process, so I decided to create a guide on it. Firefox Developer Edition is a special version of the Firefox browser, specifically designed to help developers. What you need: The archive from Mozilla's Website An up-to-date Linux kernel Installing: Make sure the archive is downloaded to your Downloads folder, and "cd" into the Downloads folder and extract the file with this command: cd ~/Downloads tar -xvf firefox*.tar.bz2 P.S. Replace the * with the downloaded archive's filename. Before continuing, please reset terminal so you are no longer in the Downloads folder. Now, using "sudo" for root privileges, move the folder to the "opt" folder, replacing the asterisks and the word "username" with your computer's username. sudo mv /home/*username*/Downloads/firefox /opt Now we need to set up the binary, so we can actually launch the browser. To set it up, we need to create a symlink from the opt/firefox/ folder to the /usr/local/bin/ folder with the ln command. ln -s /opt/firefox/firefox /usr/local/bin/firefox Now, let's create a shortcut, using the touch command. sudo touch /usr/share/applications/firefox-developer.desktop With the file created, we need to edit it. To open the file, navigate to: usr/share/applications/firefox-developer.desktop Open it in a text editor and copy the following code into the file: [Desktop Entry] Name=Firefox Developer GenericName=Firefox Developer Edition Exec=/usr/local/bin/firefox Terminal=false Icon=/opt/firefox/browser/chrome/icons/default/default48.png Type=Application Categories=Application;Network;X-Developer; Comment=Firefox Developer Edition Web Browser Save the file (usually requires another text editor, such as Sublime Text or Nano) and update the permissions of the file using the terminal again: sudo chmod +x /usr/share/applications/firefox-developer.desktop Now you can access the Firefox Developer browser from your applications menu!-

I was just browsing Reddit, and I saw this https://mcci.com . The company seems to make usb and iot dev tools, and some of them look a little.... overpriced. And the ones that don’t look overpriced look downright funky. I’ll be honest, I don’t have a clue what 90% of the words on the site mean, but a tiny 800 dollar USB-C switch in a blue laser cut acrylic housing, seems a tad absurd imo. I’m sure that somewhere in the chain the price is justified.... probably... Anyway. Some of the weirder and highly specific tools, seem like the kind of thing that Linus would appreciate making a video explaining the purpose of and why it’s so expensive (maybe Bc manufacturing volume is so low?). But if not, maybe some of the comments on this post will clear things up.

Need a windows (well, not a mac) laptop that can handle multitasking, good keyboard, battery life, lightweight (thus 13/14"). Looking for recommendations. I am currently running an XPS 13 9360, but it isn't able to keep up with multitasking I am doing for remote work (maxed out cpu and ram, i7-7th gen, 8gb). No real hard compilation of code is done on my machine (which is why I prefer a smaller, more portable machine), but I prefer to do my research on my local machine.

Hello, I'm looking for a laptop for my work, but can't seem to find the sweet, bottleneck-less spot... A little background here: my job is quite hybrid as I'm basically my company's tech support guy, and that includes support dev (mostly web stuff). So I'm constantly running a gazillion Chrome tabs, Visual Studio, client VMs, a VoIP app, Teams and Outlook. For the time being I'm working with my personal laptop, config is: * Windows 10 * Core i5 7300HQ * 6Go DDR4 * GTX 1050 * 256GB SSD * 1TB HDD Product page: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05865279/ Now, while its CPU is clearly up to the task, my PC's RAM is always filled to the brim. So I can choose a company laptop that's under 1500$, but I don't know exactly what to get, as most laptops don't cater to the kind of use I'll have. The reason I need a laptop in the first place is I want to be able to work from home as I have some phone hours in times it's inconvenient for me to go to the office. What I need: * a good proc that'll handle that stuff, but no need to go too high end * at least 256GB of storage (SSD preferably) * a screen that's at least 15 inches * moar RAM than I have right now * existing AZERTY version (I'm in France so basically PCs that are on the French market have it) * Numpad on keyboard * croissants because those are delicious but that's not the point It doesn't need to be lightweight or have a high battery life: it's going to travel about once a week between my office and my home, and it's mostly going to be on a dedicated desk. I can work with a meh screen, what I need above all is a smooth workflow. Anybody have an idea about where I could start to search, or even better, a laptop model that fits my uses?

Hi guys, first time post I'm working on a new solution for my closed dev network and thinking about moving to use UNRAID. small question though, will the server need validating the registry via the internet every time it restarts? Does anyone have experience with it? Thanks in advance H0

Hello, I need a Linux OS that would be best for software development. I have tried Ubuntu, Parrot, and Kali and I didn't really like the look and feel of each OS. I would need an OS that is 64 bit, free, and supports nvidia gpus the GRUB boot loader can be modified to make it boot. I develop Python so Python via apt-get Web Development so apache, php, etc via apt-get I want to start working in other languages too. I currently use Windows and Linux on Raspberry Pis and this is not the best way if I need to go somewhere such as school or friends and relatives house.

Rather than the expensive process to render 4k content with 3dsmax vray and aftereffects. Ue4 and Datasmith import can render 4k media in almost realtime, Why not I ask? AdvancedCompositing.mp4

Hi everyone, So, I'd like to buy a laptop in late-September/early-October for about $400. I know, that's a tight budget, but I'm currently 16 years old, and my parents aren't going to finance it, and that's the money I have. So I mainly do development in these languages/environments: Android Flutter Java(FX) Dart Unity or Unreal (not currently doing any development in these, but I want to try them when I have the time.) My main IDE is IntelliJ Idea, which I am running on Linux. As for distro, I am kinda used to Ubuntu based distros, and currently running elementaryOS, but I am trying other stuff as well. But if the laptop can be "Hackintoshed", that would be the icing on the cake. I won't be doing gaming on this laptop, I have my desktop for that. I need the battery to last at least about 4 hours, but ideally more. Having USB-C would be a benefit, but not a requirement. The laptop should have (at least) 8GBs of RAM, since I have a bad habit of using a ton of Chrome tabs while developing. Having an SSD would also be a huge bonus (otherwise I need to buy one separately). Second hand is certainly an option, but I live in Hungary, so factor in EU pricing and shipping, not US. I am not afraid of upgrading the RAM or changing the hard drive to an SSD, but I'm going to need to factor that in the cost as well. I am also not afraid of doing weird stuff (eg. buying a Chromebook and replacing the OS on it.). I know this is a lot from such a tight budget, but I hope there are options. So what are your recommendations? Thanks in advance.

I'm in my 2nd year of getting my bachelors in cs. I know I want to be a software engineer, but there's so many career paths one can take. That I have to decide, I'm leaning towards android app development, but at the same time there's so many apps already that it seems like it's already over saturated with apps. Of course there's pros and cons with everything but saying you designed your own app and then you can show people right on the spot, I think that would be cool as heck.

RSI (Roberts Space Industries), the development house behind Star Citizen, has just announced it will be opening up its in-house development schedule to the prying eyes of the public, esp. their backers, to combat a lot of the mistaken or out-of-context timing and scheduling announcements people bandy about. On the website will be a constantly adjusting and live, to within a week or so, development schedule with all the pitfalls and delays bare for all to witness. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/schedule-report Good to see they are trying to keep transparent about the massively red-shifting release date and I hope this keeps all sides on an even keel, but for the naysayers it doesn't do much to guarantee the return on investment aside from removing all the middlemen and fog of war from the schedule as we, the public, understands it.

Hey everyone! I really need advise on buying a PC with my budget of $700 CAD. The main purpose for the PC would be to do Android programming and also some Java developing, which I know will require a good CPU. However, I'm debating between RAM and CPU, here are my two current options Get an i7–4790 (@4.0 Ghz) with 8GB of RAM + 1TB HDD Get an i5–6400 (@3.3Ghz) with 12GB of RAM + 1 TB HDD Anything you would recommend! (Canada only) The i7 is much faster than the i5 and that is what's holding me back. The base clock of the i5 is actually 2.7 Ghz, which is horrible. Whereas the i7 base clock is 3.4 Ghz. I preferably don't want to overclock as it'll create extra heat and noise. Aside from Android and Java programming, I'll probably have causal productivity applications; Office suite, Adobe suite and more for editing videos and images. Please give me any possible advice on buying my developing/programming computer, I would really, really appreciate it!

I am already making video games with a lesser known program (Construct 2) and I wanted to know if there's was a requiered program to use or if I can use whatever. Also what is the sign-up process? I want to get into making more things for the community and I love playing console games (just not on consoles) so I was wondering how to get into the emulator dev game. I know basic Java and Python right now and I was going to learn C++ soon and was wondering what else I need to know. I've never built an OS or made my own Linux distro or anything but I'd love to learn how to do this kind of stuff. Any help would be great.

I have taken a few programming courses in Java so I shouldn't have a problem with the programming part. I want to make an App that can play mp3, mp4, and open .txt files. That is literally all I want to do. I know this already exists but I thought it would be a good practice for my first lunge into App developement.

I am making a game and on the main menu I was wondering what people like to see? So far I have a nice colour base and a window with some update notices in it and a play and exit button, what else do you like to see or have in main menus?
