Hi everyone, I would like to know if anyone has experience with the Dell Precision 5560. I recently bought one off of eBay and noticed the idle temps reaching 100C (HWMonitor). The fans kick on, and the laptop cools to about 96-97C. When I have a VM running on it, the fans will kick in after a while, but that seems normal as that is quite some load. I have cleaned the cooling fins, fans and repasted the CPU and GPU (MX4). I have contacted Dell, and they just turned off the ExpressCharge feature giving me that as a reason for the overheating, but that didn't fix anything other than my laptop charging slower. They then asked me to perform a hardware check and send them screen shots of the screen after the tests have run. I haven't heard back from them, and doubt they know what is causing the overheating. I'm tempted to try liquid metal, but am kind of scared as I have no experience with it. Note: the room temperature is between 22C and 24C. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm considering to buy this monitor for daily productivity (mainly programming) use. I would like to hear opinions from other people who have this monitor, or other 34" ultrasharp series. I've been looking on reviews but couldn't find more than few that were not so much useful. The only con I see so far is that it has 60Hz refresh rate. I would personally like to have more because it is better for your eyes if you sit 8h a day in front of it, but since I'm not gaming this should be good also. How is the text quality and sharpness, is it sharp enough and good for reading, coding whole day. Are there any problems that I should be aware of? I've found it for pretty reasonable price (550€). Feel free to type your experiences

Hey guys, I have a Dell XPS 13 9310 from 2021 where the battery is draining incredibly fast considering the workload. We are talking a few chrome tabs and a word document (See attached image). Has anyone encountered this issue or has any tips? The dell software ranks the battery health as "good". Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

I have updated the NVME SSD: swapped a HP EX900 500GB (no DRAM) to a Samsung PM981a 512GB (with DRAM). I have benchmarked the Samsung SSD on a Lenovo laptop and got speeds around +3000MB/s. On the Dell I get 1700MB/s and Crystal Disk Info shows "Negotiated transfer rate - PCIe 3.0 x2". The laptop is capable of PCIe 3.0 x4 as stated also "Highest Possible Transfer Rate - PCIe 3.0 x4". Troubleshooting: - Changed in BIOS from RAID to AHCI; - Clean reinstall Windows 11 in both RAID and AHCI separately; - Re-seated the SSD multiple times; - BIOS is using the latest firmware; - All drivers are up to date (checked with Dell Command Update, Dell Support Assist and on the website); How can I make the SSD run at this full speed on this laptop? Has anyone encountered this before?

Specs: XPS 17 9700, Intel i7-10875h @2.30GHz , Window 11, OS Build 22621.2506 Hi folks, Im having a issue with my computer. It blue screens with the stope code: VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR sometimes at random intervals but most frequently it happens if the computer falls into rest for any period of time or 9 out of 10 times from start up after being properly shut down previously. I have gone through a number of trouble shooting possibilities such as disabling windows modern standby (see LTT video is where I got my Instructions of how.) but that prevented some parts of updates installing. I also did multiple fresh instales of windows to see if I could clear the issue but It still had no effect. Would any of you lovely folk have an idea of what is going on or has anyone else come across the same issue?

I feel like a broken record at this point but, I once again am here to ask for support. Recently, I've been looking for a laptop, I have a pc but I find myself looking for something that I can work on since my pc is mainly used for ''wasting time''. The laptop would be used for coding, 3d design and trading (a lot of tabs..). I came across a good deal on a Dell Latitude 5430 with an i5 1245u, 16gbs of ddr4 3200Mhz, 256GB nvme SSD and it also has a neat touch screen. The processor in question has 10 cores 12 threads but only 2 are performance cores. I haven't come across a similar processor in my past and I was wondering if it's still good aka how does it compare to other processors in that price range. If anyone has any experience or any thought, it would be greatly appreciated. Here's the laptop link https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/latitude-5430-laptop/spd/latitude-5430-laptop/gctol5430usvp?redirectTo=SOC Currently on sale for around 700$

Budget (including currency): 0 to 300$ Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I want to be able to play any game that comes out in the near future with the setup that I'm currently using, but I will try to change out the old Inspiron cpu (i3 8100) and the motherboard so I can have a full good upgrade. (Basically, I want to be able to play Elden Ring at at least a stable 60fps all the time or something and also use whatever productive/high intensive application there is like Blender or video editing or something. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have a Dell Inspiron 3670. Or at least I did. Right now all I've done to it is add things. I added an RTX 3060, I changed out the power supply to a 600W one, I added a 500ish GB SATA SSD (am also planning to buy an M.2 one soon), and along with the base 8 GB ram stick that came with it, I added another 8 gb ram stick to the pc that I got sold to me by Dell themselves on the phone. I'm currently looking to buy this new case that's coming out tomorrow. My main priority with the case is that it's a full tower, the biggest size, because I just want to be able to have the biggest and most room to be able to do anything that I would like to the computer whenever I want. The case is my main priority right now, and I'm wondering if the motherboard and just all the parts that I have right now will be able to comfortably fit into it or not, like... do I need a bigger motherboard so that it can actually slot correctly into the case, or.. idrk. I just want to know if switching out everything that's in my current pc into a new case will be good and just general advice. I'm looking for a new cpu that pairs well with my 600W power supply and my rtx 3060 though too, so that would definitely be appreciated. The full tower that I'm interested in buying is a new Antec one that's coming out literally tomorrow and I chose it because I'm pretty sure when I was searching for full towers, I literally couldn't find anything used on ebay nor could I find much other things on amazon so that's why. It's linked here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CH83WYVL/?coliid=I2IF4JCP7583DF&colid=1SY7OQ6P8YURH&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1

So I just bought the Alienware AW2723DF monitor with IPS panel. I wanted to test the colors and backlight bleed with the build in diagnostic tool and when I put the image to black I see a lot of backlight bleed from all over the monitor. Should I replace the monitor for a new one or is that amount of backlight bleed considered normal? The reddish spot in the top middle of the screen doesn't look so bad in real life, but it still has a white glow.

So I have this Dell laptop (the Dell Vostro 3405) and the BIOS interface looks really outdated and probably is, it says it's the 'InsydeH20 setup utility'. Is there a way to change this for a more not so outdated looking interface that doesn't have so limited options like this one? even the 2011 Dell Precision m6600 laptop I had before had a less outdated looking BIOS than this one. I don't know if you can update the firmware or something somewhere to solve this, or if its just not possible, hope you guys can help me figure this out, thank you in advance. I post this in troubleshooting cuz I'm not sure if there is any more appropiate channel.

Asus - https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0C7R342NJ Dell - https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B0BQJD5P52/ Read serious negative reviews about Dell G15-5520 related to battery/over-heating. Battery gets depleted in around 2 hours on normal usage (battery power off and not gaming). Battery cannot last even 40 minutes when gaming with battery power off, read Gaming is not suggested without AC Power on as per many aricles. CPU over-heating is another major concern in Dell which pushes me towards ASUS Even after Windows 11 clean install, end-users kept complaning about same. Here are some similarities/differences between models I have selected as per my budget: (Will purchase additional 8 GB RAM with any model, I plan to purchase) Both SHARE same processor Same GPU - Nvidia RTX 3050 (4G DDR6) Storage 512 gb ssd Important Key differences: Dell 1 x SSD slot VS Asus 2 SSD slots Dell 56wh battery vs Asus 90 wh [BAttery life is most important in this case] Dell 8 GB DDR5 Ram vs Asus 8 GB DDR4 Ram I need a good mid-range gaming laptop with good battery life, where Asus superseeds Dell. Any reasons, which laptop I must select ? Prime requirements: Light gaming Browsing/Office/Youtube

I have a Dell Precision M4800 that we used for a project several years ago and typically noone documented the bios password which was set. I've tried removing the CMOS battery and discharging all power but that doesnt seem to do the trick. I've also tried a couple of sites which claim to offer dell master passwords but neither seems to work. https://bios-pw.org http://www.tech-faq.com/reset-dell-bios-password.html Does anyone have any ideas or recommendations on how I can reset the BIOS on Dell Precision M4800 laptops? I don't really want to have to call Dell Support because well, its a painful experience, and the laptop was supplied by a partner from the project so we wont have it on our Dell account so getting them to support it will be difficult. #sigh Any advice gratefully received!

Hello everyone! So, to introduce my dilemma I believe it's most important to state that I'm using a prebuilt, more specifically, an Alienware Aurora R12 Desktop. As a fair warning, I know nothing about this motherboard except for the fact that it is overclock capable and came from the factory with this setting activated. I have ditched using Dells software, exclusively using it for only fan control (because no other third-party fan control program works). Okay on to the issue at hand, enough precursing. I have been using Intel XTU and learning little by little as I go... The one constant issue I'm facing is that no matter what overclock settings I enter (even factory default), I am consistently getting Current/EDP Limit Throttling almost 100% of the time on load. I understand that my system does run hotter than most (due to the questionable case design) but I have optimized fan control to keep temperatures at a max of 80C-85C even in modern AAA titles like Remnant II. My CPU is able to hit turbo consistently as is, but I imagine there is a lot of performance left on the table here as it has a Max Turbo of 5.00GHz but never been able to get it there or past 4.80GHz... I can only imagine the EDP Limit Throttling is to blame for this. I will attach as much info of my PC Specs and from XTU as possible to aid, please reach out if you need any more information. I would really appreciate if anyone could offer their experience and expertise in order to help me correct what I'm doing wrong here... As well as offer any helpful tips that I can learn along the way! Thank you for taking the time to read this and offering any advice! *As a final note, I have tried using Throttlestop but I'm afraid I'm not educated enough on the topic of overclocking to understand what I'm really doing. I really messed up the CPU behavior at one point and reverted back to XTU out of sheer fear. *The Screenshots of XTU were taken while running COD: Warzone in the background just FYI!~ PC Specs: > Prebuilt Alienware Aurora R12 Intel > Operating System Windows 11 Home 64-bit > CPU Intel Core i7-11700KF @ 3.60GHz (Turbo 2.0 Max 5.00GHz) Skylake Technology > RAM 32.0GB 3200MT > Motherboard Alienware 0P0JWX (U3E1) > Graphics DELL AW2518HF (1920x1080@240Hz) DELL P2319H (1920x1080@60Hz) 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 > Storage 1863GB Seagate ST2000DM008-2FR102 (SATA (SSD)) 476GB NVMe Micron 2300 NVMe 512GB (RAID (SSD))

My Dell G3 15 3590's hinge finally started coming apart. Where is a good place to source some replacement hinges? I do have a Micro Center fairly close by as well as some other choices in Houston. I am just a bit iffy of most online retailers these days with so many horror stories. TIA

So, apparently 2 of our employee manage to bypass our Admin password and install torrent software to Company's PC. There are two local user: 1. Administrator with password - they supposedly don't know. 2. User with password - they use this one. Even though they already sign the User Agreement for company PC. They confess that they ask 3rd party (outside of our organization) : ex employee and their kids to do it. Either they know the Admin password or they find a way to bypass it. From Google Search this what I found: https://itoolab.com/windows-password/how-to-bypass-admin-password-windows-10/#:~:text=Method 1%3A Bypass Admin Password Windows 10 Using Lusrmgr&text=msc” in the Run bar, admin account without any software How to prevent them next time from doing it again? Should we just use M365 Business Account to log them? Thanks

Hi there fellow g33ks, I run a fairly small homelab, which mostly run on dell servers running vmware for virtualization purposes. Recently there was a power outage, which is normally no big deal, but this time the ups didnt last long enough, and the shutdown events failed to be send to the hypervisor. So long story short... 1 of the 3 raids in my dell r730 is lost. Some information: Server: Dell r730 Controller: H730P Disks: 4 x SAS SSD 12 Gbps (directly from DELL) Raid: raid10 After the power came back, 4 of the disks was flashing orange, and when powering on the server, it was not showing the "Press F to import foreing configuration". So I entered the controller (ctrl + r) and it found no virtual disks for this pool, and when I go to disk overview, it seems like all 4 disks are failed, which I think is very wierd. I know that poweroutages are horrible, but to loose all 4 ssds seems unlikely. I also tried to see the information via idrac, which tells me basically the same information, that all 4 disks are DEAD. What I've tried is: 1) Reboot the server 2) Reseat the drives 3) Clear any cache on the controller 4) Plug the disks into another server with the same controller (same model - but different controller) Ps. I have a backup of mostly all of it, but there was some dev projects that did not get backuped in time, so that would be lost. It's not the end of the world, but would be nice to have it, and get 4 rather expensive ssds to work again. Any help is appreciated.

Hi, Recently my server is running kinda slow or suffers from crashing/freezing and the network shutdown or stay slow during several using. This isnt frequently but already happened three times in a time of 1 month. This server is used to share files, printers, user control, DNS Server and it runs some programs that are shared through network. Currently using a Dell PowerEdge T330 from 2012 Brief of specs: One socket with: Intel® Xeon® E-1120 v5 @ 3.00 GHz 3.00GHz RAM: 8 GB 2.133 MT/s (single) SO - Windows Server 2012 Standard Storage: 1TB HDD Everything I could do to make the performace better I did, but I think its time to an upgrade. I'm willing to get something with simmilar specs but updated to today standards. Is worth to upgrade to a PowerEdge T150? That would be: One socket with: Intel® Xeon® E-1120 v5 3.00GHz 8M Cache 4 cores/4 threads to → Intel® Xeon® E-2336 2.9 GHz, 12M Cache 6/12 RAM: 8 GB 2.133 MT/s (single) → 8 GB 3200MT/s (single) SO - Windows Server 2012 Standard → Windows Server 2022 Standard Storage: 1TB HDD → 2TB HDD Any other recomendations?

Recently I replaced the Samsung M378B5273DH0-CK0 DDR3 1600MHz C11 2x4GB in my Dell OptiPlex 7010 with Corsair CMV16GX3M2A1600C11 ValueSelect DDR3 1600MHz C11 2x8GB. I have lost FPS in games like World of Tanks (1440p 110 average fell to 90 average, and drops as low as 60 sometimes which didn't happen with the Samsung RAM.) A little bit stuttery when flicking the camera around in other games. Both CPU & GPU rarely go above 50% utilisation. I ran some tests and RAM latency has increased from 70 ns with the old setup to 85.3 ns. Could this be the reason why average FPS has fallen, varies more, and the image occasionally gets tearing? Running all four of those sticks together for a total of 24GB the latency has gone up to 87.5 ns. Is this due to increased load on the memory controller? My second question is can I run C10 or even C9 RAM on this Dell motherboard (0KRC95) that does not support (afaik) manual memory overclocking nor XMP. I was about to buy some (used) Corsair Vengeance Pro 9-9-9-24 and then I read that to achieve the labled timing, it relies on XMP - otherwise it will run at 1333MHz. Is this true? If possible, I would like to find some low latency RAM that does not need overclocking out the box. I want to run ram at the highest speed supported by this dell motherboard - 1600MHz. (please note: before anyone suggests "just buy a new PC", please don't. I appreciate its already had it's tenth birthday & comes with many limitations, but this system still has some use left in it & will be capable for a few more years) System Info Dell OptiPlex 7010 Intel Core i7-3770 3.4 GHz Samsung 870 QVO 1TB boot drive Zotac RTX 2070 Super Mini Windows 10 Pro 22H2 64-bit
