Hey, asked here before about my new build and now I built it but temps of CPU in BIOS seemed higher than I thought. IT was around 45-50 degrees C in bios or in system doing nothing - idle. Anyway, my goal was also to buy cpu cooler but wanted to wait how all parts fit etc and meanwhile use stock cooler. I was looking at Be quiet Dark rock 4/ or even pro version, or Noctua nh-d15, but I am not sure now. Only reason for this is that my RAMs are high thanks to RGB on it, which I did not want but it was only available ram in that shop where I bought them and had 3600MHz. Partpicker says it would fit but I am not sure. Could anyone give me some insights if it will or what other cooler to put on cpu? Dimensions of ram are: https://www.teamgroupinc.com/en/product/delta-rgb-ddr4 49(H) x 147(L) x 7(W)mm - which I am concerned about the height of the rams. Case is Fractal Meshify C. Actually I tried to measure the gap or distance from ram, in case cooler is that low, to the other side and it gave me 125mm, but in the videos about all these coolers mentioned, it always look bigger. So I need to decide which one to buy, as I use my system for video editing and would like to keep temps down as much as I can. Also not sure how to set up other internal fans in that case. It came up with preinstalled two - front and back - but maybe I need to put more, or also use top of the case for some coolers. Any advice on these issues I am facing would be amazing. Thank you. Hey everyone, I have almost my entire build ordered but I still haven't decided on which cpu cooler I want. I know I want one with a screen that can display its temp but as far as I can tell there aren't many options or lists of them out there (that I can find). So I've started a list to help myself and maybe others find some different AIO's with screens in them. The ones I've been able to find are: AORUS RGB AIO Liquid Cooler (in multiple sizes) Asus ROG RYUO 240 (in multiple sizes) Asus ROG RYUJIN (in multiple sizes) NZXT Kraken Z series (in multiple sizes & RBG / none versions) PcCOOLER Freeze 120 (one of the oldest ones out there) Coolermaster ML240P VIVID (Not out yet but soon? Was supposed to be released sept 2020 but no new information on when it will come out) If anyone else has ones that I missed I would appreciate links! (And if there is already another thread like this please link me and I'll delete this one)

Hello everyone, currently, I am accumulating all the parts for my first gaming rig. Caused by space constraints, I decided to go mATX for the Motherboard and the case. To counter the expected reduced airflow, I got a MSI Coreliquid 240r AIO, which has it's pump in the radiator. Now to the question: Can I mount it to the top of a case? (I have the choice between two, one with support for radiators at the top, one only supporting fans at the top, the definite choice will be made when my problem is solved) I watched the concerning Video from GamersNexus, but he was only talking about pumps in the CPU block. And applying his explanations to my AIO, the only 2 ways to mount it, would be at the bottom or front with tubes down, so neither the pumps, nor the tubes are on top of the loop. Does anyone have experience with this kind of AIO? Thanks for your help. Sincerely, Breeee

I've got a weird sound being emitted from my PC and I can't really locate from where but it seems like it's either from the CPU cooler (H100x) or the GPU (Gigabyte RTX 3070 Gaming 8GB). The sound always appears when the PC is under high load, for example during gameplay and rendering. And as Im not familiar with this sound i have no idea where and why it's there, so if someone recognizes the sound from the video I've attached I'd be glad to know! (The sound in the video am referring to is the buzzing and rattling sound you can hear in the beginning) Happy for any advice and info that could help IMG_1877.mp4

Hey guys, I am looking at an alternate cooling solution for my new server. It came with two SuperMicro SNK-P0048P preinstalled--the spec sheet for this says it is rated for up to 145 Watts. I wanted to replace these with something active (and quiet), thus making me feel more comfortable turning down the RPM of the 7 80mm fans. I of course went for Noctua and found the NH-L9x65--in the 'notes and warnings' section, it says that it should "be used with care on CPUs with more than 84W TDP." This, of course, was a little confusing to me because, one, it has a fan, and two, the Noctua looks much more beefy. This makes me wonder if SuperMicro's spec takes the airflow of the case fans into account. Any other explanations? I guess what this comes down to is: would I be safe using the Noctua NH-L9x65 with the Xeon E5-2620 v3? The only problems I see are the TDP rating and the fact that I only have a total clearance of 70mm, leaving 5mm for airflow into the fans on the Noctua cooler. Any insights or alternative suggestions for a low-noise cooler that is compatible? Thanks

Hi all, I'm fine tuning my fan curves to keep my Ryzen 7 3700x nice and cool. I just installed the NZXT Kraken X53 AIO and my temps are averaging as follows: Windows Desktop (Idle): 52-56C Gaming: 60-67C I have the radiator mounted to the top of the case with 2 120mm fans to extract hot air. Another 2 intake fans in the front and one exhaust fan in the back. All NZXT 120mm fans. Should I ramp up my fan speeds to push more airflow? Are these good temp readings or should I aim to knock them down about 5-10C each? Do I match the case fans speed to the CPU Cooler Speeds? Or Keep the cooler speeds lower than the case fans to create more positive air pressure? Thanks!!

I've been looking for a CPU cooler for around $50-$70 bucks that can get me better temps for my Ryzen 5600x. The one I saw was the Cooler Master, Master Liquid ML240L RGB V2 because it seemed to have good reviews and it's $69.98 price fits well into my budget. I want to know what you guys think of it and if you think it'll work well with a Ryzen 5600x. I'm also open to any suggestion's you guys put in the comments. I'll link the coolers amazon page as well as my mobo down below. I'm looking to put together a Ryzen 5600x/RTX 3070 build sometime this year and I'm struggling to find a good rgb CPU cooler that I like in my price range. I looked at the Cooler Master ML240L RGB but I heard that it had reliability issues. My budget for a CPU cooler is between 60 to 70 bucks and I don't care whether its liquid or air cooled I just want something to cool my CPU well. Also like I said in the title I would like it to have ARGB or RGB on the fans and in case you recommend a liquid cooler, rgb on the water block. Your recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Hi guys I have a pc built in 2015 with the following specs: Intel core i7 5820k, msi x99a motherboard, gigabyte g1 980 ti and a corsair h110i cpu cooler. When I turned on my computer today I noticed that the fans were spinning at a higher rpm than normal at idle. Then my pc became really slow probably due to overheating and then it shutdown. When I turned it on again it only stayed on for 20 seconds giving me enough time to reach the bios and see that cpu temps were at 97 degrees with fan rpms at 0. Strangely enough the fans were running even though it indicated that it was at 0 rpm. I then let the pc cool down for a few hours then I tried to turn it on again. Now nothing is coming up on the screen and the pc shuts down after 15 seconds of turning it on. Could my cpu pump have failed? Or is it another issue? Please help. Thank you.

Hi there! I received an i9 9900 cpu and bought the GAMMAXX series LE500 240mm Liquid CPU cooler. After installing, it worked 100% for about a week, never switching off my PC. (37degrees celcius idle) Yesterday I shut my pc off for the night. Switched it back on the next morning and the fans were max and temps reaching 90degrees celcius without load. I checked thermal paste, it was making contact, screwed the aio back in, plugged the pump and fans back straight into my motherboard. (Pump plugged into ATX_12V_2X2SYS_FAN1 and fans into CPU fan) Started PC and worked 100%. Last night I shut PC off and this morning same problem with fans spinning 100% and crazy high temps. Why is this happening? I have a Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X motherboard.

Budget (including currency): 100€ (for the CPU cooler) Country: Italy Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: gaming without overclocking Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): see below. Hello, I am new. Build summary I assembled my PC about 4 years ago. Unfortunately I cheaped out by never installing intake fans, as well as never investing in a third-party CPU cooler. The PC only had a rear exhaust fan and Ryzen's stock cooler. I also haven't reapplied the thermal paste since first assembly out of fear of breaking anything. To avoid any further damage,I installed 3 Arctic PWM PST CO fans in the front as intake. I also modded my case by removing the front panel and applying a mesh filter. I use AMD's Ryzen Balanced power plan. The PC runs the overwhelming majority of games at 80c with stable FPS, but I noticed occasional massive spikes in the 85-90c range. Seeing as the max temperature is listed by Ryzen Master as 95c, that can't be good. However, by some miracle I never had any performance issues whatsoever. Question 1: CPU Cooler upgrade I've been considering Noctua's NH-D15S and the ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports DUO. Noctua coolers are often described as the best, but the latter is frequently suggested on pcpartpicker and is cheaper. Given the considerable price difference between the two and the fact that I don't overclock, I don't know which one I should get. Question 2: CPU and GPU upgrade due to potential temperature damage To address the elephant in the room, I assume that the CPU and GPU must be on their last legs due to the reasons listed above, even though I have no performance issues whatsoever at the moment. Should I just replace them with a Ryzen 5 5600X and an RTX 3060 Ti in the future, or can I stick with my current setup and simply install a new cooler? For context, I don't play games at extreme settings, so long as they look nice. I'm content with 1080p 60 FPS for singleplayer games and 144 FPS in competitive online games (though the current monitor is 60Hz). System Configuration: Operating System: Windows 11 21H2, OS Build 22000.832 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600, no overclock GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1660 Ti OC 6G Motherboard: MSI B450 GAMING PLUS MAX with E7B86AMS.H50 (11/07/2019) BIOS RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 MHz (2x8) with XMP settings enabled PSU: Corsair VS650 (2018) 650 W Monitor: BenQ GL2450 Case: Thermaltake V200 Tempered Glass (modded for proper airflow - front panel removed, mesh filter installed) Fans: 3x120mm Arctic P12 PWM PST CO intake front, 1x120mm Thermaltake stock exhaust rear Clearance: CPU cooler height limitation: 160 mm VGA length limitation: 320 mm PSU length limitation: 160mm(With HDD Rack), 200mm(Without HDD Rack)

Hello All, First Time Poster! I am having some trouble figuring out the optimal case fan setup for my first build. I am having issues with my CPU reaching high temps (around 8-82c) while gaming with a 50ish% load. Even if that temperature is acceptable, I want to have more wiggle room, as I live in the Midwest and temperatures can rapidly change and I have little to no actual room air conditioning. I am thinking the stock wraith cooler I have is not enough, so I am planning to upgrade to a Noctua-U12-A; but now I am also wanted another opinion on how to setup my case fans since the exhaust from the 12A can’t go to an intake fan right? My case included 4x 43.2cfm 1k rpm fans, and I also got 2x Noctua F12 71.69cfm 2k rpm fans which I placed on the two open top slots on my case. Ideally I would like the front fans to stay the same (they are all idle non adjustable rgb so I don’t want them to be scattered if possible as is the rear fan) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mvz4Y9 Linked above is my current build, and attached is a basic sketch of my current configuration, plus what I had planned based on some more research. I could take pictures later when I’m back home if needed. Any feedback is appreciated, thanks all!

I have an Envinda X79-6M Motherboard (LGA 2011 - 0 ) and an Intel XEON E5-2690 CPU. It looks like this: https://imgur.com/a/2tYkWXX For the CPU Cooler, it comes with a plastic ring (looks a lot like AMD style) and four plastic screws. They look like this: https://imgur.com/a/upF7tXK -- I have a SYY 120MM CPU Cooling fan - ( S5-120-B ) - I bought it here: https://www.amazon.com/SYY-Heatpipes-Premium-Hydraulic-Bearing/dp/B098JHS395 The CPU cooler says it works with the LGA 2011 socket, but I see absolutely no way that this CPU Cooler will connect to the motherboard. I have no idea what is going on here. What am I missing? Do I need an AMD style CPU Cooler for this motherboard? If yes, what CPU Cooler will work with this motherboard? I am really coming up empty in my searches. Is there any way to use the SYY 120MM CPU Cooling fan - ( S5-120-B ) ?

Hi. I have a Ryzen 5 5600x and I am looking to try and overclock it. I was just wondering which CPU coolers that I have would work best with this CPU. Would the Scythe Ninja Fuma 2 work, or should I stick with the 5600x stock cooler?

Hey, Right now I'm using a 4 year old 360mm AIO (Corsair H150i RGB PRO XT) with my i9 12900KS and while it's not thermal throtteling or anything it get's quite toasty. Around 30 C on idle and 95 up to 100 C during extreme CPU benchmarks but when using normally in games it's around 65-85 C which is still a little bit too hot for my taste. I was wondering if I could benefit from upgrading my cpu cooler to something like H170i Elite Capellix or perhaps another good cpu cooler with LGA 1700 support ?
-
Greetings folks ! I scoured Youtube and the LTT forums and found a few threads about replacing AIO paste every 2 years as part of regular maintenance because they can sometimes dry out, but I couldn't find anything on whether or not there would be any benefit in replacing the stock paste applied to most AIOs (specially, the Corsair H150i Capellix) with something like a Thermal Grizzly in star pattern on Day 1. The main reason behind my question is that AIOs are built to support different Dye sizes from both Intel and AMD and therefore, the pre-applied thermal paste is unlikely to provide full coverage for both a 12700k and a Ryzen 5900. Also, I don't expect AIO makers to splurge on high-end thermal paste if they can get away with it. So would it be a best practice to ALWAYS replace the pre-applied Thermal paste on AIOs with a retail thermal paste ?

So I have gotten myself into a little bit of an issue. I had previously installed a 120mm Lepa AIO water cooler into my computer for my CPU. Well the pump just died yesterday in the cooler and I wanted to proceed with taking it off to replace it with a new cooler. I took the AIO off, it went fine up until then. I went to try and unscrew the plastic bits on the front of my motherboard and they won’t come off. I have tried to push the pins through the back of my board to the front and, nothing. I have tried to hold the pins in the back to be able to twist off the plastic knobs in the front, to no success. I guess the plastic pieces might be cross threaded? No idea. But what would my solution to this be? Should I just dremel the plastic pieces off? I really do not know what to do at this point. About the missing pin in the backplate, when I was taking the cooler off it just fell off. Guess I got lucky.
