Note: I have some of the parts, please take note of that Current Plan: Planned use: Heavy to mildly modded gaming and everyday/school work Budget: less than $2,000 Cooling: 2x 120mm and 3x 140mm fans I wanted an opinion on the motherboard; I'm not sure what motherboard would be best for what I want to use the PC for. Opinions on other parts are welcome also.

Hello! So I think my PC is finally good enough for me, but I'd rather ask you guys since I don't know that much about computers or the newest parts. Detailed list of components and other externals: - Mainboard: ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 - CPU: AMD FX-8350 Black Edition (Standard clock speed, 4Ghz) - CPU Cooler: EKL Alpenfohn Brocken Tower Cooler - RAM: 2x 4GB Corsair Vengeance Black DDR3-1600 - RAM: 1x 8GB Corsair Vengeance LP Black DDR3-1600 - GPU1: GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB - Gainward - Two 1080p 60hz monitors, one DVI one HDMI) - GPU2: GeForce GTX 650 (1GB - MSI - One 1080p 60hz monitor, VGA) - PSU: 450 Watts Cooler Master G450M Modular - Storage: 1TB Seagate HDD 7200rpm (Other programs and games) - Storage: 250GB Samsung SSD (OS, GTA V) - Case: Sharkoon VS4-W (Two 120mm front fans: Air in. One 120mm back fan: Air out.) - Monitors: Three 1080p 60hz standard monitors. - Mouse: Sharkoon Drakonia (Was cheap) - Keyboard: Sharkoon Skiller Pro+ (Looked nice) - Headset: Kingston HyperX Cloud II (Was on discount) - Total price: $980 (Without GPU2, Monitors, Mouse, Keyboard and Headset.) Benchmark scores: - Cinebench R15 CPU: 639 Points - Cinebench R15 OpenGL: 80.68 fps Tell me which benchmark you want me to run, then I'll add the scores here. Highest temperatures on synthetic loads with all fans on 100%: - CPU: 70°C/158°F - GTX 1060: 80°C/176°F 20 minutes of FurMark and Prime95. 19.5°C/67.1°F ambient temperature on air intake. Closed case. That's my full list. I want to buy the HTC Vive next and play some small games because my PC is VR-Ready (according to the Steam VR test). But before I buy it, I want to ask if there is anything that I have to buy, something crucial that I absolutely need in order for my PC to work properly or better, some small settings that I might have missed in the BIOS etc. (By the way: That GTX 650 is only in my system, because I actually needed a third monitor and it was cheaper to put it in instead of buying a DP-monitor. Tested everything, does not seem to affect anything related to performance or stability.) Thanks very much in advance for all of your answers and helpful comments!

Hello. I am in need of a new rig and have no prior experience when it comes to choosing components so I am in need of some help. I currently have an i5 4460s with a gtx 960 and im noticing I am having a hard time running my games nowadays. What I am looking for is a rig that can game whilst streaming, video/photo editing. I plan on gaming at 1080p but want to max out the games and try to take advantage of my 144hz monitor. I want a case with tempered glass and some rgb cause the rgb bug has bitten me and I just love it. I live in Norway and my budget is 30 000 Nok but 3000 Usd approximately is the same as 30 000 Nok. If I didn't cover something please just feel free to ask. Thank you in advance.
-
Hello. Approximate Purchase Date: Right before summer starts. Budget Range: 3000 USD or 30 000 NOK System Usage: Live streaming games, video editing and photo editing. Are you buying a monitor: No, already own 1x 1920x1080p 144Hz and 1x 1920x1080p 60Hz. Might get an extra one down the line for ease of use. Do you need to buy OS: Yes Location: Norway Brand preference: I have no preference to any brands. Storage: Don't know how much I need but with my current rig I have 1.1TB and that filled up pretty quickly so maybe 2TB or more. Overclocking: Yes SLI or Crossfire: Maybe Games to be streamed: League of Legends, The Witcher 3, Overwatch and many other. Would love some fans with rgb like the thermaltake riing plus and a case with tempered glass. If I missed something feel free to ask and thank you in advance.

My trusty laptop, a Toshiba L755D, over its almost five years of use has lost all four of its rather poorly adhered rubber feet, so it slides around freely now, which is a bit annoying. I can't find any replacement ones online. Any suggestions for places to find them or maybe a way to DIY my own?

Where should I test my new components? I just bought a motherboard, CPU, RAM, power supply and case, but I don't know wheter if mount them or test them outside the case. I'll appreciate your recommendations (it's my first build).

Hello, My nephew has an old Gateway DX4870 desktop that he wanted to upgrade to be able to 1080p game. I checked the specs and it all seemed compatible with newer GPU's. I bought him a GTX 1060 Windforce edition and plugged the sucker in but get a black screen. Specs: CPU i5 3300 mobo Some asus board, has PCIE x16 slot 8 GB RAM PSU 500W EVGA I've done a TON of things to troubleshoot but NOTHING works!! Here's a list of things I've tried: - re-seating everything and quintuple checking connections, trying one or both ram sticks in different slot, reinstalled CPU with new thermal paste - Test GPU on my own system (it worked) - Install new PSU (500W EVGA Bronze) - Uninstall windows onboard gfx drivers then installiing the GPU - Starting up safemode, disabling windows drivers, reinstalling GPU - Bios Update (No new updates for this system) - Looking for PEG or PCI-E in Bios (isn't there), or other video related options - Installing GTX 1060 drivers before installing the GPU (doesn't allow me to do that) - Tried downloading Driver Fusion but you need to pay for that garbage - Resetting CMOS (Both battery and Jumper) The PC works just fine without the GPU installed. The Mobo has video output. Whenever I even seat the GPU in the PCIE slot, with 6 pin removed/connected, it doesn't allow the mobo video output to even work! This is also the first time a GPU has been installed in this system. There's some other things I tried but it's SUCH a pain and I don't want the little guy to be disappointed. From what I've deduced, the PCI-e slot on the Mobo is dead but everything else on it works. I don't want to have to purchase a new mobo! Is there anything I've missed? Please help! Thanks!

Hello.I've been struggling for a while with my hardware problems on my self built PC. Here are the specs:CPU: AMD FX 6300GPU: R9 280MOBO: Gigabyte 970A UD3P(i think)RAM: Gskill Sniper 4GB x2PSU: EVGA Bronze 500wIt worked fine for a year straight and then it started randomly crashing. I would reboot and I'd check errors log and it would say something like a "Kernel power..." something. It stopped Posting after a while.Thinking that this was a problem with PSU or Mobo, I ordered a new PSU(corsair 650) and Mobo(asus) and even a motherboard speaker to check for beep codes because neither Mobos came with one. Still, no post and the beep code has been a consistent single beep every boot. Finally, I gave the GPU to a friend to test on his rig and he couldn't get any picture on his screen either, but the fans were running.Any help is appreciated!

Hi LTT community! So, I am building a desk and I'm planning to make the PC inside that desk. I want to water cool the CPU but I don't have a very big budget, around 1500€, so I'm saving 200€ to the water cooling loop. That means that I've a total of 1300€ to build my PC (including monitor). I'm from Portugal so things are more expensive here, but I plan to find the cheapest price in Europe (price+shipping). The aim of the build is essencially to be my work instrument as well as a gaming one. I need to work with Autodesk Software like Revit, Autocad, Robot, most of the times all at once... I will be doing some programming too and, of course, I'll be using the basic Microsoft Office software. I want to play high end games too, like GTA V, Mafia III, Witcher 3, Battlefield 1, etc... But the main focus for this machine is going to be working. I also plan on doing a lot of multitasking and I'd like a big monitor. I've some pieces in mind that you can check here but you can change any of them. If you help me I promise to post a complete post of my build. Thank you for you're help!

Hello, I’m building my first computer and hoping someone could guide me away from making some complete beginner mistakes. I’m building this for video editing and also creating 3D projects in programs like After Effects and Maya. I wanted to leave room for upgrades in the future, while still having the most powerful machine possible without dropping several thousand dollars. Since I never built a computer I have no idea if these components are compatible together or even make sense going together. At the moment the programs I use don’t utilize the GPU fully, as well as never really use more than 10GB of RAM at any time (although in the future I hope to upgrade the RAM). I always store my media on external drives, and will only have the programs on my SSD so a lot of storage is not a necessity for me. (I will most likely upgrade the internal storage in the future and work in a safer RAID array). Any help will be much appreciated!...I listed the components with links below. Thank You! So I've had a problem with my custom built pc and i have found that whenever it is connected to the internet, even if nothing is open and it is just on the desk top, it locks up and freezes/ hangs, the fans still run and the led's in the case are also on. I had windows 10 and then installed windows 8 to see if it was a dodgy operating system. I brought another stick of ram and replaced it to see if it was the ram, i have removed the harddrive and installed windows on an ssd to see if it was that, i have also took the graphics card out and test integrated graphics to see if it was the GPU, this has been a problem ever since i have put together my PC, it freezes with ethernet or a usb wifi adapter. My specs: B150 msi ddr4 mother board DDR4 8gb and 4gb of ram GTX 960 4GB gpu i5 6400 processor 1tb hard drive 500 watt EVGA powersupply, dont know the specific type.

I want to upgrade from my old Gtx 750Ti Oc to a GTX 1060 6GB (<- click on it). Current CPU is the : AMD FX6300 with stock cooler. I have a 500Gb HDD 7200rpm drive. no ssd. mainboard: gigabyte 970A-UP3D 1x optical drive. 2x 4GB DDR3 RAM Sticks 1x 1920x1080 60hz Monitor. Current PSU is a LC600H-12 When I take a look at my "psu-sticker" it says : "Max Combined Wattage : 600W". One line before it says: 580W. Will the 1060 6gb (link above) be compatible? And will the wattage be enough? Don't ask about bottleneck or performance hit ;).

This is my list: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/user/dll29/saved/BDTm8d I already have the gtx 1060 6gb. My Budget was initialy 550€ but the other components alone killed my budget so now I spent 290 EUROS on the graphics card and currently I want to spend less than 510 EUROS for the rest but I think 510€ is still a lot for the rest so can someone tell me whether this will go well?

Operating System: Either Windows or Mac is fine. It's not 2007. The gaps between them have mostly been closed. Monitors: 4K is good for the largest real estate, but it would work best with a larger screen and if its mounted to the wall to save desk space (and to increase viewing distance). A dual-1080p monitor setup can work for having a DAW on one screen and other tasks on the other screen. 1440p offers a lot of real estate too, as does having a laptop on the desk too. 1080p worth of real estate is bare minimum, and more than that is preferred. CPU: While Ryzen's computational power commands respect, Intel's integrated graphics means a leaner, cheaper, quiet, energy efficient build. DAW's do require more processing power than MS Office and Web Browsing, but not as much as film editing or streaming, of course. Ryzen 3, Ryzen 5 and 6th/7th gen i5's. Overclocking can't hurt as long as it can be turned off at will. i7 and Ryzen 7 are overkill. Motherboard: As long as it has wifi, a good sound card and capability for numerous USB-3 ports, for audio controllers, it's good. RAM: 8GB minimum. 16GB can be very beneficial but those on a mid-range budget may want to try 8 and see how it works before upgrading. This is not film editing. 32GB is not needed at all. Storage: SSD, of course. It depends how many DAW's you are using. Professional studios may want a large size like 500GB so the samples/midi instruments can be loaded faster. HDD storage is also essential for storing a lot of sound files, but they do make noise. I know there is a feature in Windows to disable them when they're not loading files. Maybe a rubber encasing can silence them. Power Supply: A fanless PSU would be nice but isn't economical. A studio build won't require more than 150-200w of power to begin with, but a PSU with a quiet fan can help. Form Factor: A more compact PC can fit in a desk setup easier, which is why Metis Plus is appealing. Closed case for silence. Sound dampening foam is good. Larger cases can have more air circulation, but it's not like this is a gaming rig. Other Possible Equipment: (for a minimalist studio) SMB7 Microphone (w/ Pop Filter, Mic Shield and Mic Stand) Acoustic Padding (at least 25% of the wall space) Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. Korg Nanokey 2 MIDI Controller Korg Nanopad 2 MIDI Controller Korg Nanokontrol 2 Surface Mixer Rockit5 Gen 3 Studio Monitors x2

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/user/Cpp/saved/2wdXHx Can this build run most vr games for example superhot vr or job simulator or tiltbrush at decent fps? I know weird hdd and ram combo but this is a temporary build so only for a few months so I want to get the best gpu possible. Budget 500-560€ Only for VR and gaming!, no netflix, no spotify, no editing. I will most likely overclock (for the first time) so is this build overclockable? Case with window is a must :D.
