Not sure what catagory this question goes in, and surprisingly I haven’t found a lot of info on it, but is this specific brand of compressed air ok for dusting things out such as my graphics card/motherboard/any other internal part of of my pc? It said it had bitterant, which is something I’ve never seen on any other brands.

Hi guys. so i was cleaning dust from my PC, using compressed air and i saw that some part of the dust just did not go away, despite continuous air spray on them I would like to ask what would be the safest option to clean such dust spots ? can i use a soft tissue paper ? or alcohol swabs that are available from the pharmacy ? I am attaching some pics of my setup, so that you guys have a better look of my PC and suggest anything that would help me in cleaning the hard to reach spots. These are pictures of spots like PSU slot, which i have cleaned, ram slots, whose dust won't go away, dust on capacitors, CPU cooler and ICs. as well as dust on GPU. Let me know if a pic doesn't' make sense and i will explain. P.S : Should i remove my hard disk before cleaning? I have not cleaned the side of the PC where the HDD is as i am worried that the dust might damage the data in the HDD ? i know it sounds ridiculous, but please let me know if this is indeed a risk or not ?

Hai, So i have 3 guides that will resolve the most common issues in Windows 10. If you take the time to study them you can become more tech literate with Windows 10. I originally designed these guides to be the last resort before you reinstall the OS, it has many angles to approach problems in the OS so its very likely you can fix your OS without reinstalling. Tibs Guide to Windows 10 Is a guide for new and old install's of windows, it will set your system up so it is cleaned and up to date in ways Windows update does not. Tibs Guide to Troubleshooting This guide gathers information for users to show to someone who can help them fix a problem and includes instructions to fix a unique problems by yourself. Antivirus Combat and Repair This guide shows you how to deal with basic virus infections on your PC, given that there are many types of viruses its hard to say how well it can deal with a virus. (does not fix ransomware) These guides are from my own experience with helping others, if you have any suggestions to improve my guides then its totally welcome. Let me know in the comments! Also, you are absolutely welcome to use these guides to help others. Each section is numbered so you can guide the person your helping like so: "Under section 3 follow the network issues part and tell me the results"

So I have a fully plumbed in and leak tested loop, and i need to swap a block within it due to my CPU block showing some degradation. If i were doing whole loop maintenance, I'd drain the loop, install the new block, put some Mayhems blitz part 2 around it for a while, then drain and add coolant. I'd like to avoid having to put cleaner around my entire loop, as it means my pc is out of commission for longer, and it also means i have to do a full drain instead of just making sure the block i want to swap out is empty. I have toyed with the idea of using a spare pump and rad (rad to act as fillport and res) to create a separate "cleaning loop" that i can use to put some Blitz part two through the tubing and block but then realized I didn't have the 6 spare fittings I'd need to do this, and they'd cost another £50 on top of what I've already spent, so I'm treating that as a last resort. So how can i prep the new block and accompanying new tubing so that it's ready to go into the loop without having to blitz the entire loop?

I bought a GTX 1050ti almost 2 years ago, and today it keeps turning off the display, I already troubleshooted and narrowed down to the GPU as the issue right now I'm using my old GT 630 gpu which is more than a decade old (but still working while this newer card is already failing). Im thinking of cleaning it but the only thing I found on the local market is the WD40 Specialist which is primarily safe for electronics/pcb's but I wanna ask first. Is it worth it? the WD40 Specialist? and Do you have recommendations for me on how to fix this Thanks for those wholl reply, Id really appreciate it

Any tips? I cleaned the cpu with the same alcohool and it doesn't have any residue on it (I cleaned the gold pads)

I'm tearing down my system to clean the water cooling loops after neglecting to do it for years. My reservoir is an XSPC dual 5.25" bay reservoir that I'm having a bitch of a time cleaning. I just can't get all the corners and angles. Does anyone have any experience with these and have some tips? It was absolutely disgusting before I started; gooey light green copper corrosion coating the whole CPU side, and dark green (what I can only figure is) algae on the GPU side. I'm seriously considering just buying a new one it's so hard to clean. One thing's for sure; I'll never use this type of reservoir again. I'll go with the tube style in future builds. Here's the reservoir I have: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/9542/ex-res-154/XSPC_Dual_525_Bay_-_DDC_Dual_Pump_Dual_Split_Reservoirs_w_Blue_LED_Light_-_Clear_DDCBAYTWO.html

Where should I install my drain port? I know it should be the lowest point but should I put it near the outlet port for the res or the inlet port? The res and pump will be in the bottom chamber of my case with the res being slightly higher (of course). And second, where can I get a good filling bottle with a long neck? I have seen some on amazon but am a little hesitant. I would like to get one from amazon as I know the shipping will be free (with prime) or at least reasonable and it will get here quicker than if I ordered from a watercooling company but I will go with what ya'll recommend. I would prefer one with a flexible neck but I do not mind using a stiff neck. Thanks in advance.

Good afternoon all, So about a year and a half ago I gave someone my old gaming PC, and they recently gave it back (no longer needed it). It's still a decent PC... 5 years old tops, so I want to make use of it. The problem is that the person who had it was a heavy smoker and this PC was in their smoking room... so it reeks. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on cleaning the smell. Last night I pulled out and disassembled the GPU and cleaned the entire thing (thoroughly... took about an hour and a half) with compressed air, followed by isopropyl alcohol... and it still stinks. There's no more dust on it but the smell seems to have seeped so far into the components that an alchohol rub-down isn't enough to get it clean. There's still a motherboard, CPU, and RAM to clean. Does anyone have any ideas to offer on cleaning these components more thoroughly? I had considered letting them sit in a bath of isopropyl for a while (This is one of the suggestions I had seen online) but I don't know if that would damage anything or not. Note: - the fans & CPU cooler are being replaced with quieter models, - the PSU is being replaced with something modular - the case is being replaced with a smaller model and then getting cut down into a testbench. So none of those components need cleaning (except some parts of the case... but thats just metal... I can soak it in bleach for a few hours. ez pz.)

So I've had this keyboard for like 5 or more years, and to say it was getting a bit gross I think is an understatement. So with Luke's video called "Reviving my favorite mechanical keyboard" in my heart, I just cracked it open and cleaned it out. It survived it and looks much better, so thanks Luke!!

Sorry if this isn't the section that I should post this in, but I had a question about how to clean dusty parts. I've had my GPU sitting out on a small desk for quite a while now and its accuminated a bit of dust. Did the dust damage anything on the GPU, or is it safe? Also what method should I use to clean it off? (I was thinking a cloth or something but can of air seems like the best.)

Hey guys so I'm in a bit of a situation here... The cleaning lady decided to use wood cleaner to clean my NZXT S340 even though I clearly said not to touch or clean my stuff. Anyways, now I need help! I need to clean off the wood cleaner from my case as there are now stains all over it. I have attached some pictures of the streaking/ stains, and the right side panel looks the worst. There may be some microscratches but I'm more worried about those wood cleaner stains right now. I already tried water, but I don't know what to do now. Please help!

Hey everyone! As the title states, I'm interested in the best way to thoroughly clean an old (~5 years) motherboard. I just built a new rig and want to use my old one as a test subject for things I haven't tried yet in my 22 years of building. I have yet to delid a processor or run a custom loop - I'm not sure I'll waste the money to run the custom loop on this (i5-4670k, Maximus VI Hero), but I just ordered my Rockit 88 and some CLU to attempt my first delid. The plan is to completely disassemble the old comp, clean EVERYTHING to like-new condition, delid/relid the 4670k, put new thermal and thermal pads on the GTX 770 and use it as a Linux box. I have read dozens of articles, watched dozens of videos, etc. I'd rather have a discussion here with user's actual experience and opinions. The board is not bad, but it's not great either. It's past the point of blowing everything off with my Metro Datavac. I'm currently considering the Hosa CAIG DeoxIT 5% Spray Contact Cleaner, WD-40 Specialist Electrical Contact Cleaner and CRC QD Contact Cleaner. I would like the board to look as new as possible without having to use a brush on the PCB. I think a soft nylon brush will be okay for a few of the components but I'd rather not take a brush to much else. Does anyone have experience with any of these products? It seems simple enough - you get as much off as you can with air, then use contact cleaner to saturate the motherboard and let dry completely. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! One of the videos I watched, the guy was Australian and unfortunately I can't order what he used. He finished everything off with this board laquer that really made everything look like new. I can't find anything like it on Amazon. Hope to hear from you guys soon! Have a great day and Happy Mother's Day!

Quick question I cleaned the pin side of the cpu with themal paste remover and then 91% isoprophyl alcohol doesn't have pins could thermal paste remover damage it because i spilled thermal paste on that side don't ask how so i taught thermal paste remover was the only way to remove the paste so I used it but now I'm seeing 91% alcohol is the way to do it so curious if thermal paster remover couldve damaged it?

I'm new to watercooling and have been doing a lot of reasearch, using articles, youtube, etc. I'm currently looking at cleaning out components before first use, and have seen the following videos by mayhems regarding their blitz system. In it they mention connecting to running mains water for flushing through. My question is: how would you connect the system to the mains supply for this? They don't show the connection to the tap, nor do they show properly the connection to the standard watercooling hose. My taps are all mixer taps, so have no screw thread to attach any fitting to. So how would you attach to one of those?

Sorry if this is in the wrong part of the forum, i couldn't see where else to put it. I need to clean my pc, the dust has raised my cpu temps by 40°c. I have never cleaned a pc with air dusters before so i am just following that old linus video "PC Dust Elimination - The Rugged, Manly Way" where he uses compressed air and a paintbrush, (i can't afford the electric vacuum.) Will these be good enough/safe to clean a pc with? http://amzn.eu/8jmxtSN If not, please advise me on what i should use, thank you.

I'm new; please pardon if this is the wrong section for this. Any tips please on how to clean or keep dust off of a vinyl/plastic coating that is a dust-magnet? Noticing this type of material on more stuff lately from my headphones & monitor to even my coffee grinder. The headphones are of particular concern for this because of being in pockets so there is big fluff each time I pull them out an manually pick off each fiber. Thanks.
