So I have the opportunity to go to CES this Friday, wondering if The Linus crew will still be there? It would be really cool to say hi. Any one else going?

Dell is back with a brand new XPS 13 this year at the Consumer Electronics Show, and it looks like the best one yet. It has an incredibly tiny 5.2mm bezel on the top and sides. And it also has 3200x1800 resolution with Touch Screen display. It has aluminum and carbon fiber helping to keep the weight to 2.6 pounds or 2.8 pounds on the touchscreen versions. Dell is also using the latest 5th generation Intel Core i processors, starting at the Core i3 for the base model with options up to a Core i7 version. Memory options include only 4GB or 8GB. Dell is claiming the new XPS 13 is the "smallest 13-inch laptop on the planet It’s using a glass button and a precision trackpad, which is something Microsoft has been encouraging OEMs to implement. Precision trackpads allow Windows 8.1 to directly control the pointer, multi-touch, and gesture support in trackpads, making them feel more like a mini touch-screen with smoother scrolling and better zooming and panning support. Dell claims you'll get 15 hours of battery lifeThe original XPS 13 had disappointing battery life, but that might not be the case with the 2015 edition. Dell is promising a massive 15 hours of battery life if you pick the 1920 x 1080 display option and a Core i5. But some of those gains are likely related to Intel’s Broadwell processor and the use of a power saving Sharp IGZO display. Pricing: Dell is planning to release the new XPS 13 today in the US starting at $799 for the Core i3 model, all the way up to $1,899 for the Core i7 version with a QHD+ panel, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. Without them it would be prohibitively expensive for us to come to the show and bring you guys this content, so I'd like to express my sincere gratitude towards our sponsors because they (and you) make it possible for us to keep doing what we're doing, which is arguably one of the coolest jobs in the world. They've both been great partners and asked for pretty much nothing other than mentions in our videos, which gives us the freedom to create the content we feel you guys will enjoy. Huge thanks again to our two sponsors :') Our gold sponsor this year is Phantom Glass! Their gorilla glass screen protectors are our current favorite here at Linus Media group, and as they say, they are the last screen protector you will ever need (for that phone). We have a very cool new video coming out about these screen protectors from CES, and they have a ton of product offerings both in the store now and coming up over the next couple of months. So be sure to check them out at http://store.phantom.glass. And our silver sponsor for CES 2015 is the HyperX YouTube channel. They are posting a LOT of awesome new content every week with eSports personalities that is genuinely interesting and entertaining. And they are closing in on a very important milestone - 100,000 subscribers! So head over to their channel at http://youtube.com/hyperx, check out their content, and if you like it make sure you hit that subscribe button - they appreciate every one. Thanks again to our sponsors, and thanks to you guys - make sure you keep your eyes peeled all week for all of our CES content!

Zenfone 2 Asus has just announced the Zenfone 2. Will update with more info as it comes out. Specs: 5.5" IPS screen. 1080p. 400 PPI Intel Atom processor. Z3580 to be precise. 2.3GHz and 64bit. It's a quad core Silvermont CPU. 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture. 5MP front facing camera 2 or 4GB of RAM depending on model. Yes, 4GB of RAM in a phone. 3000mAh battery and it changes from 0 to 60% in just 39 minutes. LTE cat 4 (which isn't that impressive but should be good enough) Dual SIM cards Android 5.0 Some more interesting things: Brushed metal body for those of you who like that. The back reminds me of LG phones. The volume controls are on the back and it also has that curve to it. The camera features "pixel merging" for low light photos. Asus claims this gives the camera 400% better light sensitivity. My guess is that this works by combinding pixels to decrease the overall MP count of the photo, but increase low light quality. It also has "zero shutter lag". "Zero" is apparently 60ms response time. That's very low. Brand new Android skin from Asus. Might be cool but the things they showed are not that impressive. Zenfone 2 will be available in march for 199 USD. Not sure if that's unlocked or on a 2 year contract. Probably the latter. Zenfone Zoom Pretty much the same as the Zenfone 2 but with a much bigger camera bump and some better camera features. Still 13MP rear and 5MP front camera. 3x optical zoom OSI Laser auto focus. Macro shots and it can focus at something just 5cm away. Manual camera controls like ISO, shutter speed, focal point, exposure value and many more. Zenfone Zoom will be available in Q2 for 399 USD. Not sure if that's unlocked or on a 2 year contract. Probably the latter. Sources: Anadtech and TheVerge.

LG has just announced the LG G Flex2. Specs: 1920x1080, 5.5" Curved P-OLED screen (403 PPI). Snapdragon 810 (yes that is correct, the quad A57 + quad A53 SoC). Seems like the big cores will be clocked at 2Ghz and the LITTLE ones at 1.5Ghz (although it's probably slightly lower, like 1.96GHz or something like that knowing Qualcomm) 16GB storage (2GB RAM) or 32GB storage (3GB RAM). microSD card slot 13MP rear camera with OIS+, dual LED flash and their laser autofocus we first saw on the G3. The sensor is apparently the same as the G3 so we can expect this to take pretty much the same quality photos. LG claims it will take better photos though but I am skeptical (better post processing maybe?) 2.1MP front facing camera that can recognize gestures from up to 1.5 meters away. Say goodbye to your selfie-sticks. Non-removable 3000mAh battery. All the usual stuff like 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC, IR port etc. Launches with Android 5.0.1 Will be available for purchase in Korea by the end of the month. The rest of the world will have to wait. Some more interesting things: Improved self-healing back. Instead of taking minutes to heal it now takes seconds. It will recharge from 0 to 50% in just 38 minutes. The Snapdragon 810 has 4 small, power efficient cores and 4 big, high performance cores that will work in tandem to to give you better power efficiency and also higher performance than the current generation of mobile CPUs. On top of that, it's built on 20nm transistors instead of 28nm which should increase battery life even more. The new Adreno 430 GPU is supposedly a lot more powerful than the current 420 GPU (used in Snapdragon 805). Qualcomm claims it is 30% faster than the 420 for graphics, and 100% faster for GPGPU tasks. Dedicated HEVC (aka H.265) encoding and decoding hardware. Not sure if this will be taken advantage of by the Flex2 but I really hope so (it's just software that's needed to support it). If it is, then the videos you record will be half the size compared to what you record today, for the same quality. New model for even faster LTE speeds and hopefully more power efficient as well. New notifications similar to what is found on the Nexus 6 and Motorola Turbo. Swipe on the screen and you will see your notification without waking the phone up fully. Available in 2 colors. Platinum Silver and Flamenco Red. More pictures (from GSMArena)

As part of CES, Intel announced their Broadwell CPUs. Intel is formally releasing their next element of the 14 nanometer story: Broadwell-U. As the iterative naming over Haswell-U suggests, Broadwell-U will focus on dual-core 15W and 28W units from Celeron to Core i7 using 12 to 48 execution units for the integrated graphics. A Broadwell-U processor should drop into any existing Haswell-U equivalent design (i3 to i3) due to pin and architecture compatibility, albeit with a firmware update. There will be several combinations possible throughout the Broadwell line, but the most important distinctions are: 28W with GT3, Iris 6100 Graphics (48 Execution Units) 15W with GT3, HD 6000 Graphics (48 Execution Units) 15W with GT2, HD 5500 Graphics (23 Execution Units for low i3, 24 for others) 15W with GT1, HD (Broadwell) Graphics (12 Execution Units) Here is the list of Broadwell SKUs Broadwell-U will be derived from two main dies. The larger design contains the full 48 EU (two common slices with 6x8 EU sub-slices all in) configuration for 1.9 billion transistors in 133 mm2, while the 24 EU design (one common slice, 3x8 sub-slices) will measure 1.3 billion transistors in 82 mm2. Broadwell Improvements Watch. Game. Create with Intel Graphics. The 5th Generation Intel Core processor family brings the next evolution in processor graphics architecture enabling new levels of performance and power efficiency paired with Intel's leading CPU technology. The new 5th Generation Intel Core processorfamily offers graphics options including Intel® HD Graphics 5500, HD Graphics 6000 and Intel® IrisTM Graphics 6100. All of these provide stunning visuals and enable 4K Ultra HD display, including over Intel WiDi 5.14. Additional platform features include enhanced new codec decode support for VP8, VP9 and HEVC, as well as support for the latest graphics APIs (DX 11.2, DX 12 Ready) and graphics programmability features, including OpenCL 2.0 and OpenGL 4.3. Intel Iris Graphics includes these features plus significantly better 3D performance compared to Intel HD Graphics 5500 processors. What to Choose? Performance Charts: Battery Life: Voice Assistant A Feature comparison between a laptop in 2010 and laptop with Broadwell What to expect in 2015? By the end of January, we should see more powerful devices with Broadwell inside, and in mid-2015, we will see the higher TDP 5th gen Core processors. Release Dates: hroughout CES there will be a number of manufacturers announcing their products, and as per the norm Intel allows the partners to introduce their own products, rather than showing examples of where Broadwell-U fits in. However, because Broadwell-U is designed to be pin-compatible with Haswell-U, we might see some manufacturers purely re-releasing some of their designs with the newer CPU and a firmware update. Nevertheless, Intel is expecting OEM systems with Broadwell-U to start shipping in North America within the month. Designs with Iris graphics, or those featuring Intel based WiGig connectivity, will be more towards the end of Q1. Overall Intel is tracking ‘hundreds of designs’ involving Broadwell, indicating that it will be a significant push to bring 14nm to the market. Although these are all officially only for notebooks! No word on Desktop processors! Source: AnandTech

ThinkPad laptops The ThinkPad line has two flagship Ultrabooks in Lenovo's offerings, and both are getting updated for 2015. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon is one of the most portable 14-inch laptops, and couples a high-resolution touch screen (optional) with a thin and light rugged case (0.73 inches, 2.9 pounds). The ThinkPad X1 Carbon starts at $1,249 and will be available in January 2015. The ThinkPad X250 is Lenovo's 12.5-inch laptop that works with the company's Power Bridge technology for flexibility while traveling. The X250 is only 0.8 inches thick and 2.88 pounds. Power Bridge is a dual battery system that allows the user to configure it on the fly for maximum battery life or lowest weight. The ThinkPad X250 starts at $1,149 and will be available in February 2015. There are four ThinkPads in the 450 series, the T450s, T450, E450, and the L450. The T450s is a 14-inch laptop that is larger than the two flagship models noted above (0.83 inches, 3.5 pounds). It is also a Power Bridge compatible notebook for extending the battery life when needed. The T450 is another 14-inch laptop that is larger than the T450s (0.88 inches, 4.0 pounds). The L450 is a 14-inch laptop that does not have a touch screen option (the others do have touch available). It is a thick notebook and heavier than the others (0.96 inches, 4.25 pounds). All of these ThinkPads will be available in February 2015. Pricing for the T450s and T450 starts at $1,099 and $849, respectively. The L450 pricing starts at $699. ThinkPad Stack This modular system is designed to allow owners of mobile systems to augment them in a stackable format. The ThinkPad Stack has four modules, and they can be purchased and used interchangeably. The modules sit on top of each other and share power and data when stacked. The four ThinkPad Stack modules that will be available in April 2015 are: Bluetooth speaker: for audio and conference call handling, 3.5 mm, microUSB ($89.99) Power Bank: 10,000 mAH, dual USB, microUSB ($49.99) Access Point: Shares 4G phone connection ($199.99 with the HDD below) HDD: 1 TB, USB 3.0, password security Upto now, Lenovo has revealed extremely high end business laptops which more of ThinkPad style. Also ThinkPad Stack is really wonderful product! Looking forward to see this on some Videos! I'm always a Lenovo fan. This year the HYPE is more!!!! Images: E550 T550S L450 And just forgot to mention about Lenovo's ThinkVision X24 IPS monitor which smoking hot! Size: 23.8" Resolution: 1080p 7.8mm thin Price & Availability: $249 from May 2015. It also has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, but comes with an ampler 4,000 mAh battery. The Lenovo P90 will be available in Pearl White, Lava Red and Onyx Black in February This is the first phone to power a 64 Bit Intel processor. Source: GSMArena VIBE BAND VB10 The Vibe Band VB10, debuted at the 2015 International CES in Las Vegas, aims for the same territory as many other bands and watches already out there. The Vibe VB10 has a curved display, buttons on the side and a metal body. The straps are rubberized. The look is reasonably sleek from a distance, but this type of design feels reminiscent of a lot of other wearables, making this seem pretty generic. The 230 pixel-per-inch e-ink display can show up to 150 characters of any notification or text, making this potentially a pretty effective basic smartwatch, too. The real question lies in how Lenovo's app will support notifications, and how well -- or accurately -- the band's fitness functions work. Basic step counting and activity are supported, but not heart rate. The Vibe VB10 has several colors, but it looks pretty clunky: that metal body seems chunkier than it needs to be. But, it's affordable: only $89 (currency conversion equivalent to £58, or AU$110). The only catch? It won't be available in the US at all when it debuts this April. Images: Source: phoneArena YOGA TABLET 2 WITH WINDOWS AND ANYPEN Lenovo keeps adding more tablets to its Yoga lineup in a variety of shapes and sizes. The latest addition comes in the form of an 8-inch Yoga Tablet 2 with Windows 8.1 and AnyPen technology. Lenovo’s smallest Windows Yoga Tablet 2 features many of the same specifications as the other tablets in this lineup, but it comes with a few new bells and whistles. The tablet features an 8-inch Full HD screen with AnyPen technology, which allows users to write on the screen with any ballpoint pencil or pen that conducts electricity. The screen is quite durable, but you’ll still want to be careful not to scratch it, Lenovo says. The new Yoga Tablet 2 is powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. Lenovo’s new tablet also sports Dolby and Wolfsen Hi-Fi speakers. The rest of the specs are the same as the other tablets in the Yoga Tablet 2 line. It has 32GB of internal storage, a MicroSD card slot, as well as an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera. The 8-inch Yoga Tablet 2 with Windows gets up to 15 hours of battery life, thanks to the cylindrical battery pack. It weighs just 0.96 pounds and measures 2.7 – 7 mm thick. Like all of Lenovo’s other Yoga tablets, this one includes a built-in kickstand that allows you to set the tablet up in four different modes. Promotional Images: Source: DIGITAL TRENDS Lenovo Yoga 3 11" and 14" , Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 12", 14" and 15" and Lenovo Flex 3 11", 14" and 15" Starting with the ones intended for everyday consumers, the Yoga 3 11 replaces -- you guessed it -- the Yoga 2 11, while the Yoga 3 14 is actually a substitute for last year's 13-inch model. Though the two have a similar design, complete with a bright orange color option, the performance is going to differ from one to the other. Whereas the 14-inch version runs on Intel's fifth-generation Core processors and can be configured with discrete graphics, the 11-incher makes use of a lower-powered Intel Core M chip, allowing for a thinner and lighter build -- just 2.64 pounds and 0.6 inch thick (down from 3.2 pounds/0.67 inch). Meanwhile, though the 14-inch version technically rocks a larger screen than its predecessor, it has roughly the same footprint and nearly the same weight: 3.5 pounds. Either way, both new machines come standard with a 1080p touchscreen and 802.11ac WiFi, and can be configured with up to 8GB of RAM and either an SSD (128/256GB) or a 500GB hybrid hard drive. Look for them this month, starting at $699 and $799, respectively. IdeaPad Yoga Images: In addition, Lenovo's showing off three new laptops in its business-oriented ThinkPad Yoga series. These include a replacement to last year's 12-inch model, as well as brand-new 14- and 15-inch sizes. As before, they have Lenovo's "Lift n' Lock" keyboard, which flattens out the keys as you flip it back into tablet mode. There's also still a pen option across all models, if you think you'll need it. So what's different? For starters, these all make the jump to Intel's new fifth-gen Core processors. There's also a discrete graphics option for the first time, but only on the 14 and 15. Finally, the 15-incher brings a depth-sensing Intel RealSense camera -- something still not offered on many laptops. These too will go on sale this month, with prices starting at $685 for the 12, $749 for the 14 and $875 for the 15. ThinkPad Yoga Images: The company's "Flex" laptops have also received an update. In particular, whereas they used to only be able to bend part of the way back, they now have the same 360-degree hinge as the Yogas, allowing them to be used in all four modes (Notebook, Tablet, Stand and Tent). In total, the lineup includes three models in 11-, 14- and 15-inch sizes, with the bigger two offering optional 1080p displays, fifth-gen Intel Core i5/i7 processors, and a choice between integrated and discrete graphics. (The 11-inch model runs on a lower-power Pentium CPU.) So in many respects, these basically are Yogas, except for one thing: The build quality isn't quite as nice. Also, they're heavier, at 3.08 pounds, 4.29 pounds and 5.07 pounds, respectively. The new Flex laptops go on sale in May, starting at $399 for the 11, $549 for the 14, and $579 for the 15. IdeaPad Flex Images: Source: engadget LENOVO B50 WITH 3D CAMERA An all-in-one computer is typically meant for your desktop, whether at the home or office. Those desktop computers can also be used for conference calls and video chats, where the quality of the camera packed in matters. For those looking to provide a higher level of interactivity and productivity, Lenovo’s new B50 all-in-one packs a 3D camera, letting your PC “see like the user does”. According to Lenovo, the new camera mimics the human eye’s depth sensing and overall vision capabilities. 3D via the desktop is a newer realm, but has a lot of promise. The camera included with the Lenovo B50 is Intel’s RealSense 3D camera, which you likely saw via Intel’s neat new ad campaign. aside from just looking the part, the technology lets you go hands-off with your screen, instead using the camera to dictate movement on screen. Though they're lower-specced (older NVIDIA graphics with last year's Intel Core processors), they at least have a fairly streamlined design, with a slimmed-down frame and virtually no bezel around the 1080p IPS screen. These also arrive in March, starting at $429 and $729, respectively. Images: Source: engadget Lenovo IdeaPad U31/U41 Lenovo is also launching its U31 and U41 laptops. I first saw this concept through a video by Luke. It is a controller that is realistic, innovative, and will be ready around the same time as Oculus VR. This controller will be one, if not the best, controller for Oculus VR in the near future. Hey everyone, I'm new here and I'm looking for some advice on a handheld mic that I would be using to record footage at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV. Since I'm expecting there to be an obscene amount of people in attendance, I'd like to know the best handheld mic I could use with my Canon HG10 that would isolate my voice enough to be distinguished from the crowds surrounding me? If anyone has any insight, please let me know. Thank you.

Hey I am highly considering buying a smartwatch. I am leaning towards pebble steel right now however it has been out for 8 months already and ces is January 2015. Should I bother waiting and seeing what may be coming or just go ahead and buy it? ALSO I am looking for suggestions. I was looking into the gear 2 however they are only compatitble with samsung devices or so I have heard. Thoughts anyone?

Did anyone go to the Lenovo booth at CES? If you did, did you check out the Z50? I found it online after doing some laptop buying research and I'm wondering if it seems like an item I should buy when it comes out in march. Thanks.

Just thought some people might be interested in picking up the new monitor 4K monitor that debuted at CES 2014. Its release price was $700 but if you use a coupon code(QG3G$33HH3QP0) you can already get it for $630 which is a more appealing price point. Check it out, just thought I would leave this here and see what kind of response I get. P.S. you can tell me if I was stupid for posting this, like if everyone already knows or i posted in the wrong place. Shiloh S. Edit: Cant believe i forget the link, was going to link http://bensbargains.net/bargain/dell-28-ultra-hd-3840-x-2160-4k-28-monitor-630-at-dell-116708/ I did not see that it was expired but i do think its a different coupon code, try this Linus QZLZVG878LG5V6 , and if that doesn't work use the code they give you for 10% off

I just wanted to say I am very impressed with the LTT teams coverage of CES this year. I follow many of the popular youtube tech channels and few if any have delivered the amount of coverage at the quality that LTT has. I feel like Linus, Luke and everyone else on the team has worked extraordinarily hard to bring us the latest coverage as soon as physically possible. I just wanted to say thank you.

Hey guys, has there already been a release date for Corsairs 760T? I've looked it up and watched Linus' video about it but I couldn't find a specific date/month. I'm planning a case & cooling upgrade for my current rig and atm I'm pretty much set on the Phantom 530. But if the 760T will be released somewhere around february, I'll definetly go for that. Kind regards, Trek

Hey all, I kind of hope this has already been mentioned previously, but maybe my twist or something will help inspire someone else to think of something better. It would be cool to see LTT be run exclusively through donations, but I can imagine this being extremely tricky, but it might be possible to pay for events Like CES, GamesCon etc if donations were accepted throughout the year in bitcoin (or other cryptocoin) with the coins remaining in a secure wallet until required when they might be worth more than was originally donated. The image left in my head after the thought jumped in was to have the cryptocoin donations be almost their own section of the site where we can see the total number of coins donated, the current value of the total coins donated (in a few major fiat currencies), currently available coins (total # subtracted by # exchanged coins) and currently available funds (again, in various currencies). There would be a few graphs showing the the number and value of the coins since it started, when the coins were exchanged and why (with links to threads giving some information about what the donations paid for and perhaps links to videos where the product's used or displayed). Given the ease with which it's possible to donate using crypto-currencies and the possibility of a very small donation not being eaten up by card and bank charges, I think donations in this way would be far more lucrative than usual. As the price of these coins are expected to increase, atleast until a successor takes over, a £5 donation today could well be a £50 donation by the time CES 2015 rolls around and the less LTT has to rely on sponsorship and advertising, the less comments we have to read about how "they're paid to say that". This may just be a pipe dream, but the donors know full well that if the perceived value of the donated coin plummets then their donation was worthless and LTT didn't "have" that money anyway, so noone should be making any complaints. There would also be significantly less work for the LTT crew to set this up than the traditional donation problems. Would also help drive awareness of cryptocoins, for better or for worse. Thanks for reading. I don't know how flawed my idea is, so I open it up for critique to my peers.

ZTE showed us 2 new high-end smartphones with firefx os, and those are cheep, Those are ZTE Open C and Open II. All Firefox OS smartphones available on the market are meant to be budget-friendly. One of the first to be released, the ZTE Open, is about to get some better-featured successors. Mozilla has just announced plans to enter the high-end smartphone market with two new devices that have yet to be officially launched. However, Mozilla has confirmed that at least two handsets manufactured by ZTE, the Open C and Open II will be available for purchase in 2014 and will feature high-end specs. Unfortunately, aside from the fact that ZTE Open C and Open II will pack dual-core processors and other high-end features, there are no details on the specs sheet. “In 2014, ZTE will develop a new Firefox OS line to give their users more choice. New Firefox OS phones from ZTE will include higher-end and dual core options like the Open C and Open II,” said Mozilla's Jay Sullivan in a blog post.

Following the PG278Q ROG Swift posted earlier, Asus has introduced the PB287Q which lacks G-Sync but serves up a 28" 4K panel for the same price of $799. It sports a resolution of 3840x2160, 350 cd/m² luminosity, and 1-ms gtg response time. Inputs include Displayport 1.2 and MHL-HDMI (not sure which version-not that it matters). It'll be able to tilt, swivel, pivot and change height as well as VESA mounting. It'll also come with a pair of 2W speakers if you care. Considering how their current 31.5" 4K monitor is selling for over $3000 I wonder what sort of compromises they had to make and how it will compare to competing products from Dell and Lenovo. That 1ms response time does sound nice but that generally means it uses a TN panel, but I really hope I'm wrong. The monitor is planned for release in Q2 2014.
