I appreciate any feedback , or comments you have on my part selection.

I am just wondering if there are any power supplies out there that aren't too expensive and have black cables like the Corsair RM series, Modular isn't that big of a deal, I just want a power supply that would work in a red and black build. But I just don't want to have to break the bank with the power supply (under 150 total in Canada).

Hello all. I have a question for y'all. I need a z97 motherboard, that can support at least 3 way SLI, ATX (or larger), and last (and the hardest one), It has to match a Green and Black color scheme. The board can be black, or mostly black (as green doesn't appear to be an option.) Please help with my choices, I seem to be having a rough time with finding a board that isn't 400 dollars. The one's I've found are: EVGA z97 Classified - $380 (ish) Asus z97-WS - $300 (ish)

After a few hours or looking through the manual and on forums, I have finally decided to seek actual help. Starting last night and finishing up this morning, I replaced the motherboard, CPU, and CPU cooler in my computer with the Asus rampage iv black edition, 4930k, and an h105. I also installed some nzxt kraken g10s on my gpus to help with temps. Upon installation of all the hardware, I started up the PC to get started. Here's where it gets complicated. I've gotten numerous error codes on the LCD raging from 15, b6, b5, 64-69, and probably a few others I'm missing. I've tried booting from one stick of ram, my ram is in the recommended slot, I checked and g.skill ram is compatible, I've tried removing the CMOS battery, anything I could find. Every once and a while I'll get it to startup no problem to the windows os installation screen and try to download it to my ssd, but it won't let me partition or instal it on that drive so I would shutdown to go back into the bios and it seems it keeps disabling the drive in the sata configuration section. While trying to fix it, the computer while often shutdown and get stuck on said error codes. My CPU and ram are both recognized by the bios. At the top of the screen it lists my 4930k at it's stock 3.4ghz speed as well as my single 4gb ram stick. My bios version I believe is the newest 0506 (whatever the number actually is, it's close to that). If anyone has any suggestions or knows a fix it would be much appreciated.

Upon Startup my computer finishes loading windows and goes to the login screen for 1 second or so then goes straight to a black screen. I have tried doing a system restore but it gives me an error. The only other think i can think of would be to do a system reset but i would like to keep the files on the computer, so I would save this for a last resort. This all seems to have happened after i downloaded a windows update then hit update a restore and now i cant use it at all. my computer spec's are Motherboard: Gygabyte 990fxa-ud3 GPU: xfx Radeon HD 7850 2GB gddr5 Power Supply: Cooler Master Exteme Power Plus 500w CPU: AMD FX-4350 Vishera 4.2ghz Hard Drive: Western Digital WD blue 1TB SSD Boot Drive: kingston hiperx v300 series 120gb (New this month) Ram: G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB ddr3(2x4GB) OS: Windows 8.1 Any Help will be greatly appreciated -Anthony

Hello everyone, I have a question for you. I recently discovered that there are small pits forming in the aluminium part of my laptop where I rest my palms when typing. At first I thought that it was just some dirt and therefor I tried to rub it of. However, it appeared that it just wasn't dirt, but rather small pits/holes in the plate. I have the ASUS K75VJ laptop and I am worried how this will evolve. Has anyone have ever had a similar issue? If yes, what did you do, how did you treat it? I added a picture as an attachment. It should give you an idea what I'm dealing with. Thank you in advance!

Hey there. After i upgraded my gtx 660ti to a 780. My power supply started to make alot of noise. So now I'm looking for an upgrade. The two power supplies I'm thinking about is XFX Proseries Core or the Black Edition. My only problem here is I can't really see the difference between the two. The only thing I can see is that the Black Edition is modular and it's a gold certified, the Core is bronze. Does it really make a big difference in noise levels? I'm looking for a near silent psu. Hey guys, I've done a thread asking for the best water cooling colour scheme and I got mixed results. The fact of the matter is that its all subjective and its up to the builder. So I thought about this for a bit and have decided on a few colour schemes. Here is the few: White accents, Silver blocks, Black overall Yellow accents, Gold blocks, Black overall Mix of Black and White with some colored LEDs lighting up the system. So, this is simply what I've come up with so far. Its not much but I hope its an idea. I anything else is ok too. I dont mind. The only thing about water cooling is that I don't really like red and/or green. Why? because there is too much of it and the image with builds like these is that they all seem as if they're overdone. Especially green (No Offence meant). Also, Red feels like its too overrated. Just all my opinions thou. Would be greatly appreciated if you guys could help me out here. If not, that's fine too. I came here to kindly ask for suggestions, not to demand them. Thanks in Advance,

I am looking for a case for under £100, I would need something that has good amount of space, looks good and would have good ventilation and maybe some LED's. If you have a good case, or multiple for under the price or of the price off £100, please leave a link to them. Thanks

Hi guys, I had a quick question about storage. I am planning on running two 120 GB SSD's in RAID 0, with a 1TB WD Black drive as Storage for important files, games, etc. I then plan on using another drive to do frequent backups of the SSD RAID. I thought that a WD Red would be the best option because of its long warranty and it doesn't need to be fast since its just being used for backups. Would a Red be the best solution, or would a blue or green be better? I want to stay with WD, because I have had many problems with skeetgate... Seagate. Thanks! Austin

Hey, i just wanted to know if it is possible to spray plasti dip on various cables. Like the front panel connectors or a internal USB wire. Will plast dip be flexible enough,s o i can route the cables without the plasti dip ripping? How do i spray the cables? Lay them flat, straight and parallel, cover the connectors and just put 2-3 layers on it? I have lots of cables which are either multi colored or the last 2 cm aren't sleeved with shrink tubing, so i want to kinda hide that. I won't do any PSU cables though, because sleeving is still the best way to do them, but for all the small cables, iguess plasti dip could work?

Hi guys, I am planning to water cool (or begin to assemble the parts) after the 9970 drops in October-ish and I purchase that. I want this build to be beautiful. I also want it to be high quality, so I will not cheap out on anything. Water cooling starts at the "Other" parts. So,

Hey there people, I want to get a new keyboard and I'm 99% sure I want MX blacks. What are some good keyboards using them? I would like it to cost around or less than $130. I also would prefer a tenkeyless.

Hello Internets, So as some may know from my Blue/Black HAF X build post, I am planning a blue/black gaming rig. Now having sorted my case out, definitely going with a HAF X and replacing the red fans with blue ones, I have one other smaler aesthetic issue. the motherboard. Currently I am planning on using either a ASRock Z77 Extreme4 or Extreme6, but neither of these really suit the build. even though they are both predominantly black, they also have assorted yellow accents that while im not overly picky about do disrupt the look in my opinion. So my question is, what are your guys suggestions for motherboards that fit better with the colour scheme while being in the same price range as the two boards I listed above. Thanks for your suggestions, tharrison14

I played Assassins Creed 1 through Revelations on PS3 and I skipped over Assassins Creed 3 (I'll play that once it comes to PS+ in coming week or so). I've long since moved to PC full-time for multiplatform releases but avoided getting Assassins Creed on PC so far due to the always-on DRM they had, I think I read about them ditching that but I'm not completely sure about it. I'm interested in Assassins Creed 4 but not enough to pay the inflated retail price for next gen so I'm thinking of getting it for PC. Does anyone know what the DRM situation is with the Assassins Creed games on PC now (all of them). I'm also worried that Ubisoft will pull and EA and make AC4 an exclusive to their uPlay store, is there any news on a Steam version? Especially with retail boxes since they usually sell for ever lower. I expect the retail boxes will register with uPlay and Steam will get it at some point but I haven't read anything about it. It's bad enough wheeling Origin out of the dungeon once a year or so, I don't want to feed uPlay as well if I can help it.

Hi guys. If you want to skip the boring bit, go down to where my future rig components list is A little introduction to me: I've been into computer for a good few years, and now being 18, I have a job (Actually 2!) and so I'm earning more then just pocket money and allowance! As of recent (Summer 2013), I've been buying various things towards my end accomplishment of having a whole set-up to be proud of. Now, by no means am I loaded enough to buy all the parts outright. That would be awesome, but totally impossible as I don't have the funds, and my girlfriend isn't helping on that front! So like previously stated, I've been buying my part by part. In fact, the origins of my current computer come from my first ever build! I'm currently at College studying Maths and Physics in my third year, I have a part-time job as a Shelf stacker, and another part-time job as an IT technician at a private school. Original Build list (Summer 2012): - AMD FX-6100 3.3Ghz - Arctic Cooling Alpine 64 Pro - Asus M5A97 AM3+ - Corsair Vengeance LP 2x4GB @ 1333Mhz - Sapphire 5450 1GB - WD Blue 500GB - 650W Unbranded PSU - Inwin Maelstrom Full Tower Case - Windows 7 64 Bit AMD FX6100 CPU M5A97 Mobo Sapphire HD5450 1GB Corsair Vengeance LP 2x4GB Inwin Maelstrom Case So I started with this, and in my defence, this is when I wasn't earning alot of money. This was capable of playing the infamous RuneScape, and the more famous Minecraft. Since then I've wanted more and more power to play better games, like the BF series, Grid etc etc. Due to this, I bought better components after putting this rig together, even from as short of a time as 1 month after the rig was assembled. Additions to the build a few months after it was assembled: - Sapphire 7850 2GB (Overclocked to 925Mhz/1270Mhz) - TherMax Spire II w/ 2 Stock fans - Powercool 800W dual rail PSU HD7850 TherMax CPU cooler The GPU and CPU cooler are both still currently in my rig. However the PSU only lasted a week or so. It had received bad reviews, but it was very cheap for the Wattage. I was still pretty naive at this age, and preferred price over branding. I'm quiet opposite now! I ended up returning the Powercool PSU and returning back to the Gold PSU. The CPU cooler did mean however, that I could use the inbuilt overclocking to push my CPU to 3.6Ghz After a trip to my home country of Scotland, I was able to get a Corsair CX750M PSU discounted due to a friend working at an electronics store. This finally meant that after months of running on a risky unbranded Gold PSU, I could finally go with a trusted brand. This was quickly installed. About a week later I received my Soundblaster 3D Recon PCI-e card and the 5.1 Logitech sound system. I also got my Roccat Kova[+] with this delivery too It was around this time when I started earning decent enough money to start upgrading components in a quicker fashion then the year before, as all the components listed after this were bought in 2013. First on my list was a monitor, this is because I had been running my computer off of a 19" 1080i TV, so I had been wanting to upgrade this alot! I upgraded to the Acer S240HLbid 24" monitor. Around the same point in time I also ordered my 500Mbps TP-Link Powerline adapters due to really bad wifi reception in my bedroom. A good investment! The Summer of 2013 marked the upgrading of my rig. This is when I started upgrading old components of my rig in the vision of my "new" rig. So I ordered the Fractal Design R4 w/ Window, Samsung 840 120GB SSD and a few bits and bobs so that I could make the case work, such as a PCI-e USB 3 adapter, a 3rd fan and a sleeved molex extension cable. This order was spurred on by the fact I had to move to a significantly smaller room, so wanted to upgrade the computer in the bedroom which had more room. Shortly after moving into the new, small and sauna like room (really small so heats up due to my PC really quickly!); I decided to upgrade from my old turtlebeach x12s after receiving complaints from Skype friends about them being too open. So I decided, after much debate, to go for the Razer Kraken Pro Black. I love the functionality of this headset and so would recommend it to anyone Under recommendation, and hardcore linus stalkers will be laughing now, I also bought a steelseries QCK-mass mouse mat. Good mouse mat. Since I was about 12, I had used multiple computers, but only ever one chair. I've made a mark on the chair. No literally, a mark. It must've been from when I came in with blue jeans after a rainy day and just sat down, as a good amount of the chair was just blue! LOL! Due to this wooden chair, and learning about Health and Safety from College ICT classes, I decided to get an office chair. This was a risk though as there is about 2ft between my desk and my Bed due to size limitations! Regardless, I bought it and I'm now making it work! The last upgrade I have to talk about is the Microsoft sidewinder x4 which I bought to temporarily replace my old, worn out Microsoft wireless 2000. Now with all the story out of the way, my future rig specs. *Insert epic name for a rig here*: - i7 4770k @ 4.5Ghz (Hopefully!) - H100i - Maximus VI Hero - EVGA 780 SC ACX / XXXX R9-290X - Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x8GB @ 1800Mhz~ - Samsung Pro 512GB SSD / 500GB SSD / 2TB HDD - Windows 8 64 Bit The end result of this rig is for future proofing (that's why I've chosen the i7 over the i5), and for some epic gaming! If you have any suggestions or any ideas about what I can do with my rig, I'll add your suggestion to the list below if I like it, and it may be a possible addition to my rig in the future! Member Suggestions: - "i5 CPU with smaller SSD and a cheaper mobo" suggested by JORDANonPC & Nicktrance - 2TB HDD instead of SSD suggested by JORDANonPC Thanks for reading !

Hi everyone, So i got a bit of an upgrade itch recently so im going to make a build plan and soon enough, a build log. Although this will look like a fully new build, i will be taking forward a few of the parts from my current build, the rest of my current build i will be selling, and the remainder of the new parts will obviously be purchased. FYI, im in the UK. New Hardware Corsair 750D - Maybe an Air 540, not 100% decided Gigabyte Z87 X OC with 4670K OR Z77X UP7 with current 2500K Thoughts? Corsair Vengenace pro- modified. Samsung 250gb EVO alphacool NexXxos 360 x 60mm alphacool NexXxos 240 x 60mm XSPC D5 Photon 270 pup/res combo black/orange tubing Deionised water Old Hardware Matt black Bitspower fittings AMD 7970 with XSPC Waterblock XSPC Raystorm CPU Block Crucial M4 256gb SSD Sandisk 128gb SSD Kingston V100 SSD So if you havn't already guessed, im going for a black/orange build. For the cables i like to use paracord with the internal nylon removed and thread it over the cables. colour scheme will be like this: And this is the cables from my current build to give you an idea of the final finished look: I've probably missed a couple of major points because i've made this post in a bit of a rush but hopefully it will give you an idea of what i am aiming for. In addition to this, i will buy a set of corsair SP 120 fans for the rads. To make them fit in nicely i will prime and paint the rings to an orange finish. This should really help the motherboard 'pop' Id love to hear what you guys think

just curious - does anyone know about any CPU coolers where the actual heatsink is colored black? The only one I can think of is the Prolimatech Megahalems black edition and I can't find it so I'll have to get another one (preferably available at NCIX)

Hi guys! So basically I am planning a new build, but I'm struggling with finding the right parts. Gonna try make this as understandable as possible, hopefully. So originally I was gonna go with a Corsair 350D with a G1. Sniper M5 and a GTX 780 (green, black and silver theme), which I think would look cool if I built it, but lately I've been interested in the new Carbide Air 540, also from Corsair, mainly because of the bigger size, expandability (with better support for the watercooling I may be doing) and special looks it offers. I don't really need an m-atx case as I have lots of room for a case, BUT the main disadvantage of the Air 540 is that it's hard to stick with the same color scheme (which I really want) whilst still keeping it affordable, and it might also look a bit underpowered/off if I had an m-atx case, and/or if I just had the single card in there. I've considered multiple options like going with an Asus Sabertooth Z87, doing another color scheme, or buying a more normal case like the Switch 810, the problem is that those options don't really "support" the look I wanna go for (unique, green/black/silver). So if you guys have any input as to what case/motherboard/graphics card(s), I would be very happy! Thanks in advance!

So I've recently been able to build my own computer after saving some cash and buying some second-hand stuff components off my friend. Manage to save some good dollars since he's such a good buddy, haha. Didn't really take pictures during the building process because I was too excited. I just wanted to put everything together so I could quickly get back to gaming. Bought an acrylic sheet and some carbon-fibre pattern vinyl wrap just to make things look more "cool". I know I did a dodgy job but it doesn't really bother me. I'm not much of a perfectionist. It looks good enough for my eyes. Besides, the 200R has no window! Alas, it's what on the inside that counts (what I also say to tolerate my girlfriend). I'll probably look into modding the side panel to fit an acrylic window, but I'd have to mod the front so I can get reasonable airflow (Oh, the effort one must put in). Thinking about removing the entire drive cage and mounting my hard drives onto the bottom of the case; along with some vibration-dampening foam of course. Might buy some U-channel molding to make the routing holes a bit more cleaner and professional. And probably throw in another 760 because I love me the dual graphics card look (won't be for a while because I'm so poor -cries-). Anyway, try to enjoy the few photographs I've included. In case you don't know what they are of, I've included captions. Also, I'm painting the colour of my walls to charcoal soon so don't be hating on the current yellowy goodness. I actually just used my awesome photo editing skills to change the colours of the wall to a greyish colour. Yellow just ruined everything! Seems like the only colours that exist in the photos is like black, grey, white and blue. Specifications: Processor: Intel i7-2600K (4.5 Ghz) CPU cooler: Corsair H70 Motherboard: Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H Memory: 16GB Kingston HyperX Predator 1866Mhz Solid-state drive: Samsung 840 120GB Hard drive: Western Digital Blue 1TB Graphics card: EVGA GTX 760 Superclocked ACX Power supply: Silverstone Strider Plus 850W Case: Corsair 200R I don't know why this is on an angle. I suck at photography. This shows most of the insides of my baby. You can see the black and blue intestines. Also, you can see little trapped spiders breeding (not air bubbles, trust me) inside the right panel. Sorry if you are disturbed from this disturbing image. Closer look into the insides. This picture has no purpose but to make things look bigger. By taking the photograph at a low angle, the computer looks more powerful and dominant. This is also used in movies. The more you know. This is a picture of my memory. It is four sticks of memory. It says Kingston on it. It also says HyperX Predator in a different font. It looks cool. It is also blue but with a big black X-shape on it. The heatsink is also very tall. This says Gigabyte. The shadow above it symbolises south bridge's loneliness in the world. However, light can be identified which represents that there is hope if you believe in yourself. You go, south bridge. This is a close up of a graphics card. It says GEFORCE (LITTLE R IN A CIRCLE) GTX 760. The black and blue intestines are attached to it as they provide glucose which the graphics card uses as a fuel source. The human body also operates this way. When's the last time you replaced the graphics card in your body? New photograph - some people asked for a better shot of the graphics card and the shitty backplate I made, lol. There you go, you silly hoes. (Love all my hoes though). New photograph - even closer look at it. Trust me, it makes the card go faster. Why do you think they use carbon fibre on performance cars? The lighter the card, the quicker!
