I am looking for a software that can be used for 2d animation. My main goal is to create videos. I know animations can be done using paint and even powerpoint... I am looking for something professional with a learning curve but also a bit beginner friendly. So far I have Adobe After Effects that I never use... just got it with all apps subscription since I use premiere pro, audition, photoshop, and illustrator. So If someone here has an experience in animation, if you could give a suggestion or your view on different apps it would be great!

Hello, I'm currently planing on building a work machine (for animation, photo editing, drawing, video editing ). From some videos i have seen AMD seems to be better oriented for work performance. But in e real world scenario is this correct ?

Hello all, I'm currently looking to buy a laptop that I can take to school and do some lighter video edit and animation for my beginner youtube channel. The question is would it be worth it to get the i5 with 16gb of ram or the i7 with 8gb of ram? Or maybe even looking into other laptops, I'm not hard set on the xps 13 but from what I found it's the most powerful thin and light. Thank you for your help!

Hi all, My last PC build was an AMD back in 2010. That was a long time ago. I'd like to build a new one in these two weeks. I'm a 3D artist. My main work is on Autodesk Maya. Mainly modeling, rigging, and animating. I might do so simulation and rendering, but that won't be much if at all. I'm also working on ZBrush, Marvelous Designer, Substance Painter. I'm not gaming on this PC at all. Here is Pudget Systems article about Autodesk Maya hardware recommendations: https://www.pugetsystems.com/recommended/Recommended-Systems-for-Autodesk-Maya-165/Hardware-Recommendations I'm planning to buy this configuration https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CMX8nn I've no idea about the CPU coolers. What should I pick? What do you think about the other parts? Thanks in advance, Hussain

Hi all,Recently I've been dealing with an issue with animation keyframes in Sony Vegas 13. It seems that every time I close the program (and sometimes even while the program is open), some of the animation keyframes (specifically those related to the Sapphire plugin pack; ie. S_BlurMoCurves) move to different sections of the clip. For example, I use MoCurves to make a smooth transition from one clip to the next. To do this, I must animate the Shift X (or Y, Z) modifier. Naturally, it will be at the very end of the clip. With this issue, however, it seems the animation keyframes will move back for some unknown reason. In the picture below, my cursor is at the end of the clip's animation where I originally placed the keyframes. You can see, however, that those points are now somewhere in the middle of the clip. If you have any insights on how to fix this, it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

animations I'm starting with animating, what do I need?
Dominik999 posted a topic in General Discussion
Hi. I would like to start with animation 2D animations, and I am asking myself what do I really need to start with this? I would like to draw on my computer and animate on it. PUT I read a topic on the internet and it said that you would need a tablet for 2D animations... Would my Asus Zenpad 10 (Z301MF) be good for that? -
Hey guys can anyone tell me how to do such animations as in the video below with only HTML and CSS? (here the link) Thank you in advance! Award Winning Website Design Agency _ Top Web Design Company - Brave 2020-02-24 15-43-00.avi

Hi Everyone, So I'm currently going to college and undergoing a gaming, visual effects and animation course. I have an old computer that cannot be upgraded anymore at all so I'm looking to buy parts and build one myself (with the help of my friend who has built multiple systems for himself and others so I know he is safe). My friend has asked me to get some ideas for parts and what specs I would like so we can look at getting the parts in but im really not too sure what I will need for everything as I'm kind of new to building them. I've played games and used Gaming Rigs for years but only had pre built ones myself but I wouldnt like to do that this time. Im looking to get into a career in this and because of this I would like to future proof the PC for at least a few years and then maybe interchange the parts I need to change in due course. I use programs such as: Maya 3DS Max Unity Unreal Engine After Affects Photoshop Z Brush And other programs that use a lot of 3D rendering and visual affects etc. My budget is around £800-£1200 Any suggestions are welcome thanks for the help

Hi so my knowledge of computer is quite limited as in im not sure about anything. I know the basic parts but no idea about which ones to get or pretty much anything else. I have a budget of 1000 pounds and i need something that will be mainly used for 3d work. This includes the modelling rigging animation and the rendering then a bit of editing. I would also like to play games on it (want high frame rate the res doesnt matter too much to me) but want much more of a focus to my 3d work. Absolute novice please help Thanks

Hi there, I was working on an animation, everything was going smoothly...animation done...rendering...exporting....then when I played the exported file, a white circle appears out of nowhere in the middle top of the canvas. I tried to search through the layers hoping to find it, but no success. I have no idea where that circle comes from and I'm out of ideas. If anyone has time to look through my AE project and find a solution I'd be very grateful. Here's a link to the animation: I'll attach the project file to this topic. Thank you in advance! Hello humans and other creatures! My name is Ryder and I'm new around here, so hello to everyone! I've made an account here because I've browsed around the forum a bit and boy, you guys really know your stuff so I'm hoping maybe you guys can telepathically transmit all of your knowledge to me so that I can continue my agenda for taking over the world, or perhaps help me get started in CAD/Game Development/Modeling. So here's the deal, I want to make a small and simple game. I want to model a house or a room, and I want the "character" or camera so be able to walk around the room and change the colors of certain items, turn on lights, music, and initiate animations. Some of you I know could do this in no time at all, but my experience is limited to basic Unreal Engine and Sketchup use. My time frame for this project is hopefully anywhere between a week and a year so if I have to read book after book, interrogate some of you geniuses, or possibly attempt to communicate with the extra terrestrials for information, I most certainly will. Here are some of the things I know I will need to learn: Modeling items such as furniture, rooms, and other equipment. Importing items from CAD programs to Unreal and placing them in desired locations. Animation and Unreal scripts. I'm sure I've missed quite a few things but I'm determined to learn and accomplish. If anyone is willing to give me direct help, resources, video tutorials, or even basic tips and pointers, I'd be greatly appreciative and you'd be doing me such great service. Thanks guys, I'll try to be on here often and if we manage to get anywhere, I'll be posting updates as they come. Peace!

I am looking into building a set of computers specifically for animation. I don't have a budget at the moment because this project is potentially sponsored but I would still like to know what should go into these systems. The primary animation software that will be used is blender. I would prefer a small form factor system because the plan is to have them all in a stack/cabinet/corner and route all the cables through thunderbolt hubs to monitors and peripherals. What monitor would be best suited for animation work, specifically what should I look for when researching one? Thank you for the help.

So, I've fairly new to building PC's. I've helped build PC's on the assembly part, but i'm still fairly new to this and not completely sure which parts would be the best. I have a budget of around 800ish euros, and im trying for a computer that would could be used for doing some fairly advanced 3d modelling and animation work decently and would last me a good couple of years. Here's a basic build I've mostly kind of scavenged from other build people did in my price range; http://de.pcpartpicker.com/user/zeryzh/saved/czh48d would really appreciate some advice!

I'm studying animation and I need a new PC. I'm looking into Intel Xeon processors but I don't know if they are worth it on my budget. I have around 300$ to spend on CPU and I'm looking for more cores since I'll be doing a lot of rendering in 3Ds Max. So, am I better off buying i7 or is something like Xeon E5-1620 v3 better suited for me. I'm buying GPU so I would gladly trade Intel HD Graphics for more cores.

Hallo, My name is Jim and I'm a 3D animtaor, this will be my first post on this forum so hope it will be readable! To start off: I'm planning to build a new PC, and this wont be the first time I'll put one together, but it will be the first time I'll pick the parts myself! What do I want from it: As i said I'm a 3D animator and this is what I'm gonna use the computer for mainly: 3D character animation, 3D simulations, film editting and gaming cause, gaming! I wont render in a GPU based rendere and the programs I want to use on this PC will be things like: Realflow Cinema 3D Arnold Nuke etc. Setup: So I have 2 setups right now I'm considering, to keep it easy a 32GB ram version and a 64GB ram version: 32BG 64BG As far as I know, these PCs should work and the parts should work together, but as i said its my first time so if something doesnt match let me know n please go easy on me The questions: Oke so the questions i have are as follow: The 64GB PC obviously has more ram, twice as much to be precise. It also has DDR4 memory over DDR3 and 2400 over 1866. Since I'm doing 3D simulations and renders I thoughed it might be usefull to have 64GB over 32, but I'm not sure if it's overkill.. also its DDR4 because of the processor but as far as i know this doesnt make it a lot better. same story for the 2400 over the 1866. My question is do you guys think I need 64GB (also thinking of the "future" ) or do you think its a waste. the 64GB PC has a 3.3Ghz i7 Processor over a 4.0Ghz i7 (i dont know how to do the overclock/turboboost thing but maybe i should look into it?? I'm not sure what it means). the 3.3Ghz processor has a newer (?) socket then the 4.0Ghz does this mean its a lot slower or because its a newer socket it's about the same? the 3.3 has a 64GB memory limit and the 4.0 a 32GB limit. basicly what i want to know is: is the processor in the 64GB version slower then the 32GB version making the 64GB PC slower then the 32 one. The motherboard in the 64GB version is a 7 serie over a 5 serie because of the socket and the slots for RAM. the 64GB PC will use 700W over the 600W in the 32GB version. basicly making it more expensive in the long run. The price: Oke so the 64GB PC is 350,- more expensive, but if this means it will be a better PC and will last me longer then I'm fine with that. however.. if it means the diverance will be minor then i think its a waste. on the other hand if it means upgrading later on will be cheaper then that makes it interesting again. basicly what do you guys think pricewise is it worth it? Thank you everyone for reading this long ass post with like a milion questions from someone who clearly doesnt know everything about computer building just yet.. but if there is some advice you guys have for me please let me know! do you think its a waste of money? please tell me why and what you would change! If i wasn't clear about something, let me know as well since I will answer any questions asap. Jim ow yea on a sidenote.. this PC was put together on Alternate.nl and I also want to buy the parts here. Unless you guys say DON'T!! do it here: ***** these guys are way better/cheaper. (in the end it needs to be send to the netherlands)

Build for Rendering, heavy 3d load. $1600-$1800
Malay Soni posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
This is a new build i am planning to build. Its mostly for 3d work like lighting, rendering, animation and stuff related to 3d only(games are rare but included of course). my budget lays between $1600 to $1800 max. i may overclock a lill bit, but i am not much into it, if it helps a lot i will, if not so much i will stay with the stock clock speeds. i don't plan on doing a two way sli in the near future hence the psu. Here is my build. CPU Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor CPU Cooler Xigmatek Dark Knight II SD1283 89.5 CFM CPU Cooler OR Cooler Master Seidon 120V 86.2 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard MSI X99A SLI PLUS ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard Memory Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory Storage Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive AND Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Video Card Case Corsair Air 540 ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply Corsair RM 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX I have a few questions like: Is the cooling sufficient with cm 120 v plus? Is the 550w gold cert sufficient or do i need more for the build? is a dual way sli gtx 980 ti possible in the future on this build? Suggest me any changes possible and necessary and helpful for my build. Appreciate your help. Thanks.- 25 replies

Hi, I am starting out a degree in 3D animation and my old Vaio is breaking apart (literally the back of the screen cracked on the hinge when I opened it last time) so I was looking for a replacement either, in the 1400$ to 1600$ (In CND$ mind you) for a decent quad core with over 8Gb RAM, or more (around 2k) for a full aluminium, slim laptop with same specs but hopefully longer lifetime. So which should I go for and do you have any suggestion as to which is best a cheaper laptop that does the job or a premium one for longevity. I still have 3 years to do in university and it is purely for this purpose that I'm buying a laptop I barely game at all. I already looked one google and found this one : MSI GE62 Apache-276 : http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152903
