I have a PB287Q monitor that is capable of reaching 4K 60hz over DP 1.2. the monitor ALSO has HDMI 1.4 but I’m only able to get 1080p or 1440p both at 60hz out of my XBOX Series X. my question is this: if I get a higher end HDMI TO DP 1.2 converter can I get 1080p 120hz made available to me on my XBOX series x SINCE the monitor supports 4K 60hz on DP 1.2. (DP 1.2 supports 1080p 120hz technically but that doesn’t explicitly mean the monitor’s display or internal components support it, right? I feel like if it can do 4K 60 it should be able to reach 1080p 120hz) Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I’m trying to figure out if I can avoid wasting money on a cable if this will not work.

Hey everyone, so I just got a second monitor for my setup and I am having trouble getting it to line up with my old monitor. the new one is 4k and the old one is not. In the settings they are showing as two different size monitors even though they are both 32 inches. I know this has to do with resolution, but is there any way to get windows to recognize the monitors as the same size without sacrificing quality on my new monitor. thanks for the help.

Costco and Bestbuy are having 43inch 4k TVs under $300 now. I game Apex Legends for maybe an hour a day, not more than that. Currently using dual 27inch 2k monitors (Dell and LG) Thoughts about using one of those as a desktop monitor. Viewing distance will be about 2.5ft.

I recently got a 4k tv and have been using it with my xbox 1 s (not series, very cool naming system) and I was wanted to watch some hdr video on it to see how it looks since this was my first hdr capable display as well. And I noticed that on youtube, I can't select an hdr video resolution of more than 1440p. I can select 4k when a video is not hdr, but when it is hdr, it doesn't seem to allow it. Does anyone know why? I bought an hdmi 2.1 cable specially to avoid this problem, so I'm not sure what could be going on other than a software thing. Is there another app I can check to see if it is the cable or just Youtube? Netflix, (hbo) max, and hulu all don't give me the option to select a resolution. Although they do pop up the hdr10/dolby vision logo when appropriate. I'm 99% sure it should be able to handle it since the ports are hdmi 2.0a, but at this point I'm stumped. Any info or ideas would be much appreciated. Or if you have a Xbox One X, or Xbox Series and it works I'd like to know.

Hello friends, I'm attempting two have both monitors in 4K@120hz HDR. I'm not sure if this is possible, and as the title suggests, I'm unable to run both monitors on 120hz for some reason. Could this be a software issue? I noticed something in specs for the display that I suspect is the reason (highlighted in blue)? I can see that I'm running 12-bit colors, but the specs seem to suggest it's only capable of 120hz at 10 bit? Currently, both screens are 4K res, HDR, 12-bit colors, display 1 is at 120hz while display 2 is 30hz. I noticed I can change display 2 to 120hz but the res will be 1080p. I also noticed that I can individually run either screen, using either cable or GPU port on 4K@120hz HDR but not both at the same time. NOTE - the displays are essentially OLED TVs. I've already done everything in their services menus to set them up as PC monitors so we don't have to investigate that. Looking forward to your feedback. Specs and setup details below. Hello! The UEFI menu resolution of my motherboard seems to be 1920x1080, or lower. I see no option to change that to 3840x2160, so the menu is looking a bit blurry. My build is: •Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master (rev. 1.0) - BIOS version F11. •Monitor: ViewSonic VP2768-4K (3849x2160p) - Connected through DisplayPort. •Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4GB). Question: Is there a way to make the UEFI (BIOS) menu hi-DPI?

The company I work for is going to try to do a livestream on YouTube. We have good cameras, very powerful computers and a pretty fast and stable fibre internet connection (250 Mbps up/down). However, we were wondering about the resolution and FPS limitations of livestreaming via OBS to YouTube: Can you livestream to YouTube in 4K 25 FPS via OBS? Will people watching be able to watch in 4K in real time, or will the live be 1080p (and only the video after the finished livestream 4K)? Is anyone able to find someone that has livestreamed to YouTube in 4K (WAN Show seems to be 1080p only)? (Bonus questions: Will OBS be mostly demanding on the CPU or GPU?)

Ever since I bought my OLED I've enjoyed playing games on it with HDR, but that's about it. I'm pretty sure that none of the movies I've watched on Prime or Disney Plus have been HDR, I do use LG's apps. At this point it feels like the only HDR content that I can watch are these 4k OLED demos on YouTube

My brother asked me what he should do to start playing Baldur's Gate 3 at 4K, he is going to be getting a monitor (feel free to leave recommendations) he says he's okay with 4K 60 FPS, but I want to make sure it's able to keep doing that with newer games with the higher graphic fidelity that is definitely coming. He also has to upgrade his PSU, but that just adds time so to speak. He doesn't necessarily have a budget, he just is going to save until he has enough, so good quality components are more important to him than ease of purchase. I am aware that AMD's recent GPUs are a very good value currently, especially with what NVIDIA is doing with the pricing of the RTX 40 series. Would I be better to point him at AMD, or is Intel at a point where I could actually recommend it to someone? I imagine he wants to do high settings, essentially even made tracing, which I'm again not sure how AMD performs at with Baldur's Gate 3 or Cyberpunk 2077. He currently has a Ryzen 5 to 600X, a horribly mismatched set of RAM 32 GB stick at 3200 MHz and an 8gb stick at 2666MHz (He did not ask me before getting that or even tell me he needed more RAM) so I was also going to recommend he replaced that 8gb stick with an identical 32 gig stick since the CPU should be more than capable. I appreciate anyone who read the full text dump, sorry it was so much. Thanks for any responses!

I want a pair of new displays, 1440 or 4k, and I'll buy two of the same ones so that, hopefully, colors are the same, brightness, and all that jazz, with minimal adjustments needed on my end. Some help with finding or suggesting any that are Vesa certified. A pair of arm mounts that I have are rated for 75x75/100x100 and can carry up to 22 lbs/10kg. I would like to have OLED for that HDR and contrast, but I understand there is the possibility of burn-in and other nasties that can come with that. I still prefer it over everything else, but I hear that mini LED is also excellent, so I haven't done much looking into that if I am to be honest. I do plan on doing a split of content creation and gaming on them. I haven't given much thought about any curved displays, slightly just worried that there wouldn't be enough room for two of them plus my case as I will not put my case on the floor. I'm leaning towards 27", possibly, and have just been browsing through them, but just kind of don't have the reassurance just to pin one down.

Jack of all trades, master of none - I want a monitor that can handle both work and play, but have limited exposure to how bad of a compromise it might require. - For my work, I need a 32" 4k monitor - For gaming, I have a legion laptop so I only play at 1080p. I mostly play FPS casually, but I also enjoy more cinematic older stuff like Tomb Raider and RDR2. I don't need super high frame rates or ultra settings on the latest games. I'm happy with 100-144fps for FPS and 60fps for slower-paced aesthetic stuff. My question: how bad is 1080p gaming on a 4k monitor? Will it look unplayable due to blur or pixelation? Would I still be able to play 1080p at +100 fps, or will having to drive a 4k monitor mess with that? I've tried learning how resolution scaling on external monitors works but I don't really get it. Ideally in the future I'll have a setup that will be 4k gaming capable, so being able to keep the same monitor would be a plus. I appreciate any experience you can share, thanks in advance!

I'm trying to find something decent but not bank-breaking. I realize my 4060 isn't exactly a 4K card, but I didn't realize that when I first got it a year ago, and I'm not about to replace it just yet, especially with current prices. I'm more concerned with my old screens that are unmatched resolutions and only 59/60hz. I'm a non-competitive single-player PvE driven gamer, some FPS like Destiny and FO76. Yes i know they have PvP but its easily avoided for my enjoyment. I'm currently eyeing the "Samsung 32” Odyssey G70B 4K UHD IPS 144Hz" to replace my "Asus 27". I looked at the others, but i don't like curved screens and this is the only flat I could find. Suggestions on replacing the Samsung 55"? Should I just keep my current one? I get screen-tearing when its set to 4k even with freesync on, but I'm assuming that's more the GPU. It doesn't have to be a TV either, as I don't use the SmartHub crap and don't even connect the internet. My computer is my TV. Id like it to still be at-least a 55" and, Ugh, SmartHub on gaming monitors these days?! Could be nice for some people, but I'm a basic boy, its just bloatware to me. What I currently have: Asus 27" FHD Gaming Monitor 1080P VP278H Samsung 55" Premium Smart 4K UHD TV 2019 (FreeSync) UN55RU8000FXZA

upgrade Does the Upgrade fit and is it worth it?
Yodaking8549 posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Budget (including currency): I do not have a specific budget. Im just trying to meet my goal listed below with as little money as possible. Also my currency is in Euro Country: Germany Games that it will be used for: I want to be able to play pretty much every game (apart from cyberpunk cuz it s to recourse intensive) at 4K Max settings 60 FPS. I also have a 2nd Monitor with 75 hz and 1080p resolution if that matters at all. Other details: The parts list of my PC right now is here: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Yodaking8549/saved/#view=WghTmG I have currently been thinking of an upgrade that looks like this (I want to buy nvidia cuz of dlss and other software related tools): https://de.pcpartpicker.com/user/Yodaking8549/saved/#view=9fGw3C Now my two big questions are 1) Is it worth it? Could I maybe get 4K 60 FPS at Max settings with a cheaper card or do I need a more powerful one than the 4070 ti? 2) Does anyone know / have experience if the Fans fit in the case? I am especially concerned about the two 120s on the bottom. Do they fit together with that PSU? Ive researched for the last couple of days but could not really find anything of value. -
Hi guys, I'm looking to buy a 4k monitor for gaming but the specs and prices are all over the place. I will be running a 4080 and intel i7 13700k for gaming, and a macbook pro 13 M1 for programming; For that kind of money, I expect good colors and no nonsense while gaming. My initial options are: $489 Acer Predator XB283K KVbmiipruzx 28" UHD 3840 x 2160 Agile-Splendor IPS PC & Console Gaming Monitor | AMD FreeSync Premium/G-SYNC Compatible | 144Hz | 1ms | 1xUSB Type-C, 1xDP 1.4, 2xHDMI 2.1 & 4xUSB $500 Gigabyte M28U-AE Arm Edition 28" 144Hz 2160P UHD KVM Monitor para Juegos, visualización IPS 3840 x 2160 4k SS IPS, Tiempo de Respuesta de 1ms (GTG), 94% DCI-P3, HDR Ready, FreeSync Premium Pro Anyway thanks guys!

Hi, ive recently been considering buying a new monitor for my setup, been looking at a 34", 4k 144hz monitor from a company called electriq for £300, the cost isnt exactly a concern but its something im considering. My concern is that im not sure my 3070 will be able to handle a massive 4k monitor, a 2nd qhd monitor and a 3rd 1080p monitor. My gpu is the MSI SuprimX 3070 Heres the link for the monitor https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/H6TzK8/electriq-eiq-34suwd144fshq-340-3440x1440-144-hz-monitor-eiq-34suwd144fshq I'm just still not sure if its fully worth it since ive not heard of the brand before and am not an expert with monitors. Any help is appreciated

Hi so as I said in the title Some games and other applications like Blender make my screen go completely black unless I open the taskbar or select another window I currently have Windows 11 Pro. and when I turn off HDR it's completely fine or sometimes I can use them without problems. my monitor is an ASUS TUF Gaming VG289Q1A.

Hello! Appreciate any feedback, have a silly question. What would be a good docking station to support my 4k ultra wide screen at 144hz and have multiple usbs inputs for Razer amd laptop? I understand thunderbolt is not an option with the razer and looking online I see many marketed 4k at 60hz. Wondering if there is something out there for me? Thank you!

Hello, I’m in the progress of updating my computer after 8 years of faithful service. The rig itself is already bought and since I went with a 4090 card, I suppose I really ought to update my 8 year old monitor (an Acer XB270HU) as well to get the most out of the GPU What I’m looking for is a 4K monitor, preferably 32”. Although gaming is the main usage, I will be doing a fair bit of office work as well I’m not that keen on OLED due to the high risk of burn in (and we already have 2 LG OLED TVs so they’ve gotten enough of my money). What would be some good options for me to look at? Some I’ve looked at are: Samsung Neo G8 - I do like the specs but I’m also a bit unsure due to reports of scanlines. Samsung Neo G7 - Due to a sale currently it’s not cheaper than the G8 but might have fewer scanline issues? Gigabyte M32U - Not too expensive but it might be a bit low contrast and HDR. Dell G3223Q - Same price as the M32U and same thoughts basically (I understand the HDR local dimming is quite bad though) Are there any good ones I’ve missed? I’m grateful for any help!

So, I'm having trouble deciding because I am driving 2 different resolution displays, 1080p and 4k. I use the 1080p display vertically and mostly for secondary tasks, and the 4k display as my main work and gaming display. I have a ASRock 5600 XT 6GB, and then separately I have 2x PowerColor Red Devil RX 570 4GB cards. So, I'm wondering if it's better to use the 2 cards, so each display is driven individually or the one card for both. Gaming on a 4k display adds to the workload of the GPU so I'm not sure if I should be using a whole card or part of one. Apart from playing games like Minecraft or Valheim, I do some work in Blender modeling or rendering scenes, and photo/video editing. I am hoping someone can give some numbers to justify the answer they give, and i understand that I could pair the 5600 XT with one of the 570s, but I also want to use less power, I have an 850W psu. Any suggestions help!

Hey Folks, I got a 'hand me down' GTX 660 I've slapped into my media centre (Running a ye old I5-4690); however I'm having an issuing getting 4K output from the card over HDMI (to a smart TV). The Spec page for the GTX 660 footnote 3 says it will do '3840x2160 at 30Hz' over the HDMI, but I'm having no luck. Same setup works switching to the iGPU (At 4k, but struggles with some content), or by lowering the output on the GTX660 to 1920x1080. Interestingly, Nvidia control panel lists 3840x2160@60 Hz as an option (however that also doesn't work). Drivers are the latest, and I've otherwise validated the rest of the chain. I unfortunately don't have a 4k monitor to try to otherwise validate the other outputs. I'm somewhat stumped, so any advice welcomed.

I'm looking for a 32" 4K panel with 144hz or above refresh rate, HDR & G-Sync. Not interested in curved displays. Something in the price range of the Samsung Odyssey G7 would be great. I'm not particular about panel type, though I'm coming from an IPS for what it's worth. Bring on the suggestions.

Just received the Aorus Fv43U monitor and after a few minutes, no matter if I'm in a game or on the desktop the screen goes all static like snow on an old CRT. I've updated my driver's, both windows and in GeForce experience. I've tried plugging in my Nintendo Switch, still does it. Tried other cables, hdmi and DP. Reset the settings, updated the firmware on the monitor. Powering off for 15 seconds will make it go away but only for a minute or 2. The monitor is not excessively hot. Neither is the gpu or processor. At a loss and it's Saturday so I can't call Gigabyte. Really hoping I don't have to return this. If it helps I have a gigabyte rtx 3070 gpu
