Hi guys, my laptop's audio is not working properly. The thing is it shows the master volume to be at a positive percentage, the drivers are updated and everything but sometimes the output is 0 from the laptop side itself, my speakers and headphones work perfectly fine with my phone. This problem occurs 50% of the time nowadays. Sometimes when i restart the problem goes. i thought maybe it was a driver update problem so i uninstalled and updated the driver twice, once from the windows updation itself and once from the realtek website. both the times the speakers of the laptop worked. But now 2 days past that the problem occurs again, almost 50% of the time. help guys ? there are no viruses in the system i guess, i just recently had a full pc check. thank you !

I recently watched linus video about HDMI 2.1 and while it was very helpful it left me with a few questions correct me if I'm wrong but from what I understand HDMI 2.1 is simply a standard for pushing the fancy features linus listed in his video (4,5,8,and 10K resolutions, 120 Hz for these resolutions, game mode VRR, HDR, Dynamic Meta Data, EARC, 4GBIT/S) I also know that we will need HDMI 2.1 cables as well to take advantages of these new features. However i have many questions regarding 2.1, and many of them probably stem from this single question : Is HDMI 2.1 just a standard that our displays and source devices need the capability to take advantage of or is it something that they need to be "certified for". I'm in the market for a 1440p 144Hz display. I'm looking at a good one that is 1440 144 and with Gsync, however recently someone told me I should wait to buy this monitor because soon (near the end of this year and early 2019) displays just like the one I'm looking at for will be created to take advantage HDMI 2.1 what dose this mean exactly - Is this true or is this person just crazy lol ! I want to do 1440p gaming at 144hz, are there monitors coming out that are 1440p 144hz with "HDMI 2.1" that I should be waiting for My other questions are as followed: 1. Is HDMI 2.1 something that is a firmware update for graphic cards or do they have to be build with HDMI 2.1 in mind. 2. Do current cards like the GTX 1080 and 1070 support HDMI 2.1 ? How about RTX ? 3. Linus talks about having to buy HDMI 2.1 certified cables hear the end of the video at 4:26 , BUT will i have to buy an HDMI 2.1 certified graphics card and display as well ? 4. Do devices like displays have to be built with HDMI 2.1 in mind and am I safe to buy a new display without waiting for "HDMI 2.1 displays" to come out ? 5. Will we ever see "HDMI 2.1" on boxes for displays ? 6. What makes the Xbox one X an "HDMI 2.1 supported device" ? I know these are a lot of questions but im honestly confused and would appreciate any answers ! thanks in advance

Hello! I'm in need of some infomation, basically i wanted to upgrade to the logitech z625 2.1 computer speakers, i have the z506's and use them in a 3.1 setup, they sound great and work great. Had them for probably over 4 years now and they have yet to fail me. I am currently using an aux cable to connect to my motherboard. Basically the z625 has an optical port, my question is. Should i set them up on my computer with an optical cable going to my motherboard? Or an Aux cable? what is the difference? My motherboard has a optical port for sound, but some forums say its for consoles only. Well if its for consoles only why does my motherboard have one? My motherboard is the msi gaming 970, i have the realtek audio drivers and everything is fully updated and all audio drivers are working great! Under the spec sheet for my motherboard this is all it has for audio, hopefully this helps! The main reason i wanna go from a 3.1 to a 2.1, is because my center channel acts like another speaker, my driver has no clue that its a center speaker, and when i set it up in TRUE 3.1 mode, it basically doesnt work unless the game/movie/music im playing/watching is built for 3.1 or whatever, it honestly sounds better to have it just act as another speaker. The z625 is much much louder for the speakers are thx certifed, they should be great for gaming and music! (Prove me if i am wrong please ) Audio • Realtek® ALC1150 Codec - 7.1-Channel High Definition Audio - Supports S/PDIF output

Hi there! I saw a similar question answered a couple of years ago, but my components are a bit different (hence the new thread). I'm trying to properly include a Polk Audio PSW10 subwoofer in my setup. Currently, I have an Audioengine D1 connected to my PC via USB for power as well as an optical cable. Connected to this DAC are my bookshelf speakers (a pair of M-Audio AV40s)--these are connected using a 2-Male to 2-Male RCA Audio Cable. Now, the only way I've managed to make the subwoofer work is by using a 3.5mm Stereo to 2 RCA Cable Male to Male cable and simply plugging it into the back of my motherboard's 6-channel audio (the green speaker port specifically), and then enabling the Stereo Mix option in Windows 10's Sound settings (under the Recording tab). The motherboard is an Asrock Z370 Taichi. However, I noticed that the bass is well off rhythm this way, most likely because it's taking signals for both the left and right speakers all at once. I did try plugging the subwoofer into the sub/center port (the orange one) in my motherboard, but was unable to get any response from the PSW10 despite trying different settings in both the Stereo Mix and the Realtek HD Audio Manager. I'm a novice at this so I'd appreciate some help.

Hello everyone I'm able to get two Z623's for cheap (Brand new) and I was wondering if it is possible to set them up in a 4.2 surround sound set up. Is it possible and if so, how do you do it? Thank you and have a great day.

Hi, I am in search for a replacement for my once loved Edifier S730. My current ideas are: 1. KRK RP6 G3 (pair) or KRK RP8 (pair), stands & foam or 2. Audioengine A5+ or ????????? The Edifier S730 was good but it was far too loud and far too much bass and not that good treble / mids. The speakers will be used for pc gaming, movies and music listening... And rare occasions of FLStudio use with usb keyboards. Suggestions, thoughts anyone?

I recently bought a 2.1 audio system(genesis helium 600 if that matters). And i wonder if i should let them on or turn them off from the back.Is that ok?I did that with my old system and it had no problems.

My current crappy little Bluetooth speaker is making a horrible whining sound so I'm looking for a good set of speakers to use on my desk for my computer. I'd like a subwoofer but as I have quite limited space on the floor (I like plenty of foot room under my desk) or anywhere around me it's not super necessary. I'll be using them for pretty much everything, video streaming (YouTube, Twitch, Netflix etc.) as well as gaming and for general music. I enjoy a more bass filled experience especially with my music. My budget is $50-75 but I won't mind if it's anything less than that. Can anyone recommend a good set? Thanks!

Hello. I recently bought headphones, Edifier W800BT (I know they're not top of the shelf, but they're good enough for me). They work fine with my phone and laptop, but not with my PC. Since I don't have onboard bluetooth, I plugged in some bt dongle. Headphones will indeed connect, but won't be recognized as headphones. So I looked up what dongle is it, in device manager it says "ISSCEDRBTA". Apparently it has BT 2.0, but I don't think that version of bluetooth is the problem. I installed BlueSoleil, but when it connects to headphones, it still won't recognize it. Even when I scan it for services, it finds none. Does anyone know how to fix it? Are there any other drivers for this device, or do I have to buy a new, better dongle. I'm running on Win10 64

I am currently have a SMSL SA50 with Micca COVO-S connected to my 40inch TV. In the process of upgrading my TV to 55inch and I think I need to upgrade the audio setup as well. I do know that my current setup lack base and was wondering which of the three would add the needed base (without sub). So far my choices are as follows Vanatoo T0's , Polk Audio MagniFi Mini Sound Bar , Orb Audio Booster Basic Micro Soundbar or SMSL AD-18 (w/ Micca MB42X speaker). What I like in the T0's are simple setup , on MagniFi Mini - it has a HDMI ARC (one less remote while watching) and Orb Audio Booster Basic Micro Soundbar or SMSL AD-18 (w/ Micca MB42X) is the possible upgradabilty. All of the choice are relative close in one another price wise (plus-minus 50$). And most of the review I've seen suggest all are good at what they do. What is the best for a open Room size = 12 feet L by 12 feet W and 9 feet H. are there other factor that I need to consider? thanks in advance.

I'm currently in the process of reorganising my studio and at the same time, upgrading my audio. Currently I use the on-board audio output of my Asus ROG Strix B350-F Gaming to output to a Logitech LS21 2.1 Speaker system. Since I plugged it into there, I get a "Your rear line out impedance is equal to or higher than 110ohm". The system currently has itself configured as Stereo audio with the Amplify Level set at Extreme. My first question is, is it safe to run that, as as that message about impedance appears almost like a warning, but doesn't show any distinguishing features like a warning normally would. My second question is, that I plan to upgrade to a 5.1 system in the near future, should I purchase a system that operates via a single line out from the motherboard and then deals with the amplification itself (Such as the Logitech Z506 5.1 system) or should I obtain speakers that I can run directly from the motherboards on-board audio output? Hopefully this makes sense, but if not, feel free to tell me and I will gladly try to help any way that I can.

I have a old crappy subwoofer from a little 2.1 Cyber Acoustics setup. the speakers are gone. I have some small desktop speakers with a 3.5mm analogue input. I'd like to combine these to make a 2.1 setup. The sub has a 9 pin mini-Din input. I'm thinking if there were something that did this, it would be some usb dac with some analogue out(could be RCA) and the 9pin out for the subwoofer or some passive splitter that somehow splits the frequencies for the stereo speakers and the sub. Anyone know of a way to do this?

Hello fellas, I am looking for a 2.1 speaker setup because my old ones broke. I have a decent headset (Cloud one) but I need speakers for when friends come over etc. Also I am in the market for a new TV(LG43LF5400) and the one I am looking at doesn't have good speakers too so I might switch the 2.1 speakers between the PC and TV. The 2.1 speakers have to be around 40-60$ . Any recommendations will be appreciated. Thanks :)

I have a Lepai 2020A+, 2.0 channel amplifier that I would like to output to a 2.1 channel system. I have had this work wonderfully before, but I can't seem to find what kind of "adapter" or function this tech is called. Here is an example of a sub that does what I need. It has the left/right input from an amp and a left/right output to speakers. This is all on a powered subwoofer, where it must have some kind of low-pass filter within to sap the low-end sound out of the left and right signals. What is this adapter/process called? Can I buy one? Thanks

How do I connect one 5.1 speaker set and one 2.1 speaker set to a computer? I'm using the 3.5 mm jack at the back of the motherboard as the audio source and using an audio splitter to connect the two 3.5 mm jacks from each speaker set. But the problem both the speakers have different volume control knobs and it's really hectic to adjust both the knobs one by one. So how do I control the volume of both the speakers at once without using an Amplifier?

Hello guys, I am looking for something to replace my old 20$ speakers. I am mainly looking for 2.0 and 2.1 speakers like it says in the title for about 50 - 100 bucks. For what I am using it? - Playing games - Listening for music - Watching videos/films Hope you can recommend me something good for that price range. Thanks in advance, Skull

So I have these speakers: http://www.amazon.com/GOgroove-BassPULSE-Computer-Speaker-Subwoofer/dp/B004ALYGI2 But the cord isn't long enough to reach my computer, so I had to buy an 3.5mm audio extension cord. Ever since I put it to use, every now and then the audio will cut out for a split second and come back. There is no pattern to it, it is completely random. I've gone days without it happening, even a week I believe. But it is getting quite annoying and I would like to take care of it.

I'm a total noob when it comes to audio and i have been having issues with the onboard audio on my Sabertooth X79. I recently got some spare cash and i bought an Asus Xonar U7 external audio card. I read good reviews about it, and i got a good price for it. I proceeded to install it on my PC, but i ran into a problem - i don't know how to connect my speakers. I have a 2.1 speaker set from 6-7 years ago from Genius (Wooden speakers, i love them - superb audio quality)(i don't remember the model and i can't check it due to where they are mounted). The problem is how the speakers connect with each other. The stereo speakers connect to the sub-woofer with RCA plugs, and then the sub-woofer connects to the PC with a 2xRCA to 3,5mm jack cable. So the question is, how do i connect them all to work. If i connect the stereo speakers directly to the 2 RCA plugs on the Xonar, where do i plug the sub-woofer with its 3,5mm jack? Excuse me for being a noob; Internet didn't help me much either.

Recently my old Logitech Z4's have finally given up. Now Im looking for a replacement, without spending too much and get as much quality as I can. Ill mostly use them for listening to music, some movies/tvshows and just daily usage. For gaming Im getting some 5.1 headset, so thats not an issue. So far Ive found 2 speakers that cought my interest: Edifier R1280T Logitech Z533 Both have very positive reviews, however it seems that the logitech might be a bit overpriced for the quality it brings. But I have never owned speakers that werent just pc speakers. So Ive done some reading and it seems like the Edifiers are active speakers (so I dont need an amp right?), are they just ready to plug in to my pc and work like Im used to? Any help or other speaker suggestions are appreciated!

Alright guys so i have, ALOT of questions that i need someone smarter and more knowledgeable than me to answer. first of the main situation i have is that i am trying to find a pc speaker system to replace my current one, as it is dying slowly but surely, its a cheap $35 2.1 system by logitec and it has served me well but i wanna upgrade. Theres a few things that i want out of my new speakers, first and foremost im a bass whore and i need deep and heavy bass, upon saying this its also important that the other parts of the music aren't completely drowned out (though i do understand a lot of bass tends to have this effect). now upon saying this ive had a look online and i cant see a decent 2.1 system that i could buy outright that fits what i want, so im thinking of trying to get hifi speakers and connect them to an amp and maybe buy a sub later (or if its affordable now) this being said i have no god dam clue where to start. i have no idea how the wiring works, have no idea what amp is good and what is bad, i dont know what decent hifi/bookself speakers there are out there that can have a sub added on later, i also have no idea how an amp even works, and are they all the same? or do i need a different one depending on the sub and speakers? and i have no clue as to whether this is even a better option than buying a standard speaker system. and yes ive tried reading up on this online but i cant understand half of what they are talking about they just say get an amp, speakers and a sub later and i have no idea what to choose or how it works. to whoever took the time to read this, i thank you for any help you could give an audio amateur in his pursuit of better sound

Does anyone know whether or not getting a soundbar to use as a desktop speaker is a good or bad idea? Would desktop speakers be a better choice? Can you guys recommend some decent soundbars or speakers for around £50 or $75 if you can!

I currently have Logitech z506's that I've used for over a year. They aren't horrible but just don't have the power behind them that I'm looking for. I have a Fiio E10k Dac/Amp and that helped them sound a bit better. Anyways, I have some extra money now and wan't to get some new speakers. Definitely not Surround since I have no room for speakers behind me. Looking for a quality 2.1 system for around $250. If not a full 2.1 system, then powered stereo speakers will be fine until I buy a sub in the summer. I'd like to get AudioEngine A5+'s but I feel everyone has those and they are overpriced. Any suggestions? Thanks
