My 1080 ti Poseidon from Asus is running much hotter and louder than it should. I sent it back and they said there was no problem with it. In my testing, open air sub-20C ambient it reaches up to the temp limit of 84C while running at 80-90% fan speed (LOUD) According to the place where i bought it they got 72C and said you barely heard the card. What could cause this? I have tried different PCIe slots and a different PCIe powercable and connector on my Corsair RM850. My temps and fan speed were monitored using GPU Tweak 2 and HWMonitor. I need help ASAP. Thanks in advance Edit: Im on air, havent gotten my watercooling stuff yet FIXED: The cards fucking cooler isn't screwed in properly... Putting a little pressure on the cooler towards the pcb drops temps and fan speed dow to the right levels

Hi Anyone have a Ryzen 5 1600 with a 1080 ti? I was thinking of upgrading from my 1050 ti to an RX 580 but no stock so now thinking to either get a 1080 ti or a new Vega equivalent card. I wondering what performance is like with a card as powerful as the 1080 ti and if there are any limitations? I currently have a 1080p monitor but will use the graphics power for my video and photo editing.

Hey, I've been replacing my 980 ti's in my render rig with 1080 ti's. Now i have 2x 1080 ti but the motherboard still has room/support for a third card, but i can't get the system to work properly if i add a 980 ti. This is not a SLI configuration or anything, i just want the cuda cores for Octane render, which usually isn't a problem. I had the same issue when i tried running the system with 1x 1080 ti and 2x 980 ti, only one 980 ti would be detected. Is this a problem with the motherboard or is there some problem mixing Pascal + Maxwell? Now i just have a 980 ti sitting on my desk which could be of great use for it's cuda cores or just giving me display performance while the other two cards are rendering. This is my rig: ROG X99 Gaming 5930k 64 gb ram 2x 1080 ti Has anyone experienced something similar? I have no idea what to do. Thanks, appreciate any help i can get!

Hey folks, This is my first water-cooled build with a price bracket of $1500 - $2000. I have already bought a Gigabyte Aorus 1080 Ti and a ThermalTake Tower 900 Case, and have been trying to decide on a cost effective components to build within my remaining budget of $1200. I have thrown in a few parts that I could think of in the following link: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/f2pTf8 I planning to use this water block on my GPU: https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc1080-gtx-ti-aorus-nickel I'm planning to use two 32" or 34" 1440p monitors, since I would be using the PC for gaming & coding. The big picture is to have a dual / single loop water cooled system, since my Case has a lot of space to move around. I would be okay expanding RAM from 16 Gigs to 32 Gigs in a few months, but my base components would be: Aoros 1080 Ti TT Tower 900 Case Intel 7700K CPU Any advice and suggestions on changes to my part list, with a lower / cost effective option is greatly appreciated.

I am looking to buy a 1080 Ti and have been browsing around for a while. My current and previous 2 GPUs are from Gigabytes, so I am tempted to a different brand. Been considering getting MSI GTX 1080 Ti Sea Hawk X, but I have never own any from MSI ever, not sure about overall quality of its product. I am also considering EVGA GTX 1080 SC Hybrid Gaming, but it is harder to get one at my location. Both of GPU are hybrid because I always wanted to try one, but I am open to any open air cooling GPU suggestion. I will OC it so excellent cooling and built quality is heavily influencing my decision. Your comment and recommendation will be greatly appreciated, thanks a lot in advance!

Ok my first time posting on LTT so I've come into some money, and want to do a corsair, x299, 1080TI, 7900k build... I won't bother listing parts other than that I want to put in 64gigs or DDR4, corsair vengeance RGB and a Corsair - H100i v2 (Too bad Corsair doesn't make a 360 rad) So I'm looking for some recommendations for a great Motherrboard and GPU (preferably same manufacturer for RGB config.) so I want at least one m.2 slot (optane for a 8 or 10TB HDD) may upgrade to an Nvme SSD Im looking to overclock the CPU (7900X) to 4.0ghz min.... If you want to take a look at my PC part picker https://pcpartpicker.com/list/x9gMHN and yes I understand that the

I've been eyeing the 'Aorus GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition' for the past week as an upgrade from the 'ZOTAC GTX 980 Ti Amp! Edition'. I've noticed that it comes in two flavours; Gigabyte GeForce AORUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11G & Gigabyte GeForce AORUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition 11G. The regular version has a boost core clock of 1708 MHz where as the Xtreme version has 1746 MHz. So my question is, what's the point in spending the extra money on the Xtreme version? It seems like all you have to do is tweak the settings and push it to 1746 MHz or beyond if you wanted.

I am looking to build a computer and need help deciding between a 1080 and 1080ti. I am using the computer mainly for 3d design and programing aswell as light gaming(csgo). The resolution i will be using is 3440x1440. Will a 1080 be enough for my need and above 60fps gaming or should i get a 1080ti

Basically I am currently running a GTX 1080 TI AMP Extreme Edtion with 3 x DisplayPort 1.4, 1 x HDMI 2.0b, and 1 x DL-DVI-D . The motherboard (Asus Z170 Premium) has Integrated graphics with a DP as an output. Everything works just fine with the computer, but for some reason the 1080 TI will not display the 5th monitor at all and will only work with the 4th one leaving me stuck with just 5 monitors. The 1080 TI will only output to 4 displays at one time. Interchanging the cables and monitors doesn't change it. It will only allow 4 outputs. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Display Specs: 2560x1440 165Hz GSYNC 4 x 1920x1080 60hz 1 x 1440x900

I'm going to buy a 1080 ti next week and I'm not sure which to pick. The cheapest ones at the moment are the Evga FTW 3 and the Zotac AMP! Extreme, and the MSI gaming x is a bit more expensive, but I can get it if its worth it. I know performance-wise they are pretty much the same, but I'm interested about the temps, not so much noise, since I'm planning on overclocking it and I use closed-back headphones every time I use my pc. I've read the Zotac gets to 80+ Celsius easily but other reviews say its about 65 on avg, and I don't know if its just about getting lucky so yours doesn't get too hot since I've only bought one GPU in the past; but the zotac is the cheapest and I like the design.

One GPU system, no overclocking planned. The PSU has spent the last two years with a 970, a little overclocked the last few months (if that matters for PSU longevity?). I know the wattage is fine, but I also know the 650 GS isn't the ideal power supply in terms of quality (ripple suppression, and I think I read about it lacking certain kinds of protection?), and mine's not brand new either. I'm not used to having so expensive a component in my PC so I find myself over-researching and making myself nervous, perhaps unnecessarily. The 1080 Ti is being shipped so I could go pick up a more definitively top-quality unit while I'm waiting (in for a penny in for a pound, I guess), and the old one would still be a capable backup. Still, I don't want to replace a component unnecessarily. The 650 GS is "tier 2" according to this site, and I can read reviews and understand the theory behind things like ripple suppression so I see how it ends up there, but in practical terms is that something I should be concerned about? As I noted, the PSU has been under what I'd figure is pretty normal use. The only thing maybe worth noting is it spent the first 1.5 years plugged into a 3-prong outlet without an actual ground (bad apartment wiring!) but the computer ran fine the whole time. That's corrected.

1. Budget & Location $6,000 USD 2. Aim Mostly gaming, Netflix, Web Browsing, the very occasional use of Photoshop/Maya/3DSmax for personal projects. 3. Monitors Two Monitors 1 at 3840x1080 and the other at 2560x1440 4. Peripherals These are listed in the build 5. Why are you upgrading? I am upgrading an i7 3770s with 16gb of DDR. I need advice on a few things, I am a major newb when it comes to Water Cooling and would prefer to stick to AIO solutions. So are there any cases that have room for the two GPU Radiators+ an AIO Solution (which I need help picking) for the Processor. If it helps, for a case, I prefer to be able to disable RGB, Color matching isn't a big deal, I prefer acrylic windows over a tempered glass, and a fully closed case is ideal. Mid - Full ATX is fine. When the new Noctua Fans are released I will be changing out any case/radiator fans possible to those. So in short Function over Aesthetics, not much in the way of limiting factors as far as storage space. Comments on parts already in the build are welcome, but I'm pretty set on Ryzen despite the better gaming performance on 7th Gen Intel Processors. I am still not 100% sure I am not going to wait till later this year to see what happens with Threadripper/Coffeelake. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/hFVHM8

I had been rocking my 2700k at 4.8GHz for the last 5 1/2 years. I wanted something with the same kind of clocks, but more cores. Along came Skylake X and I decided to give it a shot. My goal was 4.8GHz on all 8 cores being cooled by an AIO. I found success with the 4.8GHz on all 8 cores at 1.285v with temps maxing at 81c during a 2 hour Realbench stability test. This was with the help of a Silicon Lottery Delid. Before that I was stable at 4.7GHz @ 1.235v at the same temps. I have a new 1080 ti (evga sc black) with an i5-7600k and an evga supernova 650 gs psu, running at 1440p. No overclocking. The card works great, but during benchmarks (heaven and rise of the tomb raider) I notice the power use jumps around with a minimum of 98% and max of 103%, observed with MSI Afterburner and evga xoc. The power limit is set to 100%. Temperature is stable right at 70, gpu load and clock speed are stable too. Is that power jumpiness normal? Cpu load never goes over 50%. I feel like on my old card the power would peg at the max percentage (though on that card I was overclocking and it was at 110%) and not oscillate like that, but honestly I'm not 100% sure as I never really made note of it. When I see other people asking about fluctuations their clock speed isn't stable and their power jumps are like from 50-100%, so I don't think I have whatever problems they have.

So i was just wondering if these super cheap 1080's are real or scams, prices are sub $100 USD. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=geforce+gtx+1080&_sop=15&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xgeforce+gtx+1080+ti.TRS0&_nkw=geforce+gtx+1080+ti&_sacat=0

Hey guys, I wondering about upgrading my 1070 to a 1080 ti soon, but I'm wondering if it's worth it. I will not be running anything 4K, nor will I be playing any VR games, but I have 2 nice 1080p monitors that run at a low FPS when being used together, and hopefully that will be fixed. My main purpose in getting this 1080ti is to run games like GTA V and Arma 3 at high/ultra. Is it worth a 1080ti without using 4k? Thanks! (Edit: I would sell my 1070, so a 1080ti would cost about 400$)

I'm planning to build a pc and im wondering if it would be better to get a Zotac 1080 ti AMP! Edition (not the extreme) or a Founders Edition for future custom watercooled capability. I want to buy the new EKWB aluminium kit, the A240G, and that kit do not support the Zotac card. The build is: i7 7700k (Hyper 212x, and planning to watercool in the future) Asus Strix Z270e or MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon Trident Z RGB 16gb (2x8) 3200mhz NZXT S340 Elite Corsair CS750M The reason I'm asking is because the watercool project is going to take a long time because of budged reasons I can't buy the EKWB kit right now. And I want to overclock both the CPU and the Graphics card, and I want to know if the founders edition would be fine for a time before I buy the kit from EKWB. Also, If you guys could sugest a case with better air flow than the s340 elite, at the same price point and the same I/O (2 USB 2.0 and 2 USB 3.0) that would be great.

Hello, I am going to be upgrading my custom desktop PC soon and I wasn't sure if by leaving in some of my old parts I would be creating a bottleneck. I will be keeping my CPU (Intel Core i7-4790K Devil's Canyon Quad-Core 4.0 GHz LGA 1150), RAM (Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB 2x8 240-Pin DDR3 2400 MHz), and Motherboard (ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VII HERO LGA1150 Z97 Chipset). The component(s) of note that I plan to upgrade are my GPU and I plan to buy a non-reference GTX 1080 ti from either ASUS or EVGA. My goal is to have great gaming performance (high FPS) while running games at 1440p. Would this work? Thanks

Hey all, I just got my Aorus 1080 Ti gpu in, installed it, and there seems to be some sag, not a ton but enough to notice when I hold up the other end and let it go. Don't know if I'm alone on this or not... I've never really thought about it till now, but I have seen some GPU braces you can install.. Good idea or anyone else have a idea?

Alright. Simple. I have a Gtx 1080 ti with an i5-4670 I run battlefield one on 1080p ultra 100% resolution scale and it's going from 40 to 80, average about 55 i'd say. What the fuck is going on with this game.

Hi Friends, I finished my studies in Post production, with a good background in IT but not too good with hardware lol, My Budget is $2500 to $2800 CAD If I can save money that would be great (who doesn't want to save) So here is what I am planning to build, Preference as below: GPU: 1080 ti 11 GB (guide me which company) heard that EVGA is coming up with liquid cooling. CPU: i7-7700 K (if any other preference guide me which one ) Motherboard: (guide me which one) might go for SLI in future. over-clock needed for performance. RAM: 16 GB to 32 GB (2400-3200 ) (if there is no RGB it's ok, that way i will be able to spend money in other components) Storage: 512 GB M.2 and 2 TB hard-drive CPU Cooler: (guide me which one) which keeps the CPU real cool. Liquid cooling prefered PSU: (guide me which one) Case: not looking for fancy but has good specs. Monitor: If it can come in the budget, or else I'll throw some more money to get one, but your suggestions are still worth diamonds Also throw suggestions on where can I save money and your comments on this build will really be appreciated. Love you all tech lovers. Waiting for your suggestions.

I'm been mining with both a GTX 980 Ti and 1080 Ti. Both cards are Hybrid (water cooled). The 980 Ti usually reports a max temperatures of 72 C (at 230 watts), while the 1080 Ti reports only 51 C max (at 251 watts). I thought 72 C was decent until I got my 1080 Ti last week and it's literally 21 C cooler! The power input and size of radiator should be the only factors in determining the temperature (16nm vs 28nm process generally only matters when figuring efficiency). Both cards have identical radiators and fans. Is there something wrong with the 980 Ti's cooling ability? Again, I only noticed when the new 1080 Ti was a bit cooler. As far as I can remember, the 980 Ti has hovered around 70 C when maxed out Folding two years ago, (no change over time). If my 980 Ti should be around 50 C like the 1080 Ti, then what are my solutions? I've redone thermal paste on dozens of CPUs, but never a GPU. Is it fairly easy to disassemble the video card to put fresh thermal paste on? Also, how much does ambient air temperature affect the GPU temperature? If the ambient air is 20 C more, would the GPU be 20 C more? I tend to think its not that linear. (The 980 Ti gets air from inside the case, though it's open on both sides now, and the 1080 Ti gets air from the outside front of the case. The air doesn't seem that much warmer in front of the 980 Ti's radiator since it's completely exposed to outside air 1" away.) The screen shot shows slightly lower figures than usual.

Source is above There's really not much to say here, but i guess now would be a pretty good time for a 1080 Ti to appear, I don't plan on upgrading from the FE 1070 so i'm happy where i am in gaming. I guess if you need to make it different from the titan x somehow, just use good old regular GDDR5 instead. updated post for latest rumor http://techbuyersguru.com/ces-2017-amds-ryzen-and-vega-revealed

I've heard 1080 Ti it's going to make its first appearance in the CES 2017, which is going to happen in early January. My question is, how long it usually takes to a product to be available for being purchased by the public, after being featured in CES? Or better yet, when would I be able to buy the new 1080 Ti?

So I recently upgraded my CPU to a 3900x to get more use out of my 1080 ti. Naturally I looked at bechmarks to see if I got the bang for my buck. I did not. According to this site I should be getting 101 fps as the minimum at ultra settings for my 1080p set up. I get 54 in the Ancient Forest at certain areas when fighting a monster. Granted I'm using the HD Texture pack but I don't think it should tank that low because of it. What gives? Did I get unlucky? Are my parts throttled? Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance if I personally forget to do so!
