Hi, I'm helping my friend to build his pc but the pc boots up for a few second then turns off by itself. I was able to boot into bios but then it turns off after a few second. Also tried installing windows 11, it was able to make it to the first part of installation to 100% then the pc shurts off by itself. I was able to do this a few time but everytime it just crashes mid installation. I've taken everything apart and put them all back together, made sure the power supply cables are all the way in. made sure everything is plugged in, power socket on, monitor is on hdmi, cpu, ram, gpu, ssd installed properly. And now the graphics card fan won't spin and there is not output. The cpu and case fans still spins, thats the only positive for now. RIVA shows me a constant 60fps without any drops, a flatline frametime timeline, and normal GPU and CPU temps and usage, but still, it doesn't look like fluid 60fps gameplay. My friend's games look way better on his PC and he uses an RTX 2060 My PC specs are: CPU: Intel 12700k, 4800 mhz GPU: 4070 TI RTX 12 GB VRAM TUF GAMING ASUS RAM: 32 GB - 2x 16 GB DDR5 5200 MHz Kingston Fury Beast Motherboard: ASUS Prime Z690-A STORAGE: NVME 2TB Patriot PSU: 850W GEN 5 PCI-E ATX 3.0 GOLD GIGABYTE here is my benchmark test https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/63625813 i tried: -Enable the resizable bar from BIOS and check in the Nvidia Control Panel. Disabling Vsync and limiting to 60 FPS with RIVA TUNNER -Update Bios -Update Nvidia software and Windows 11. -Reinstalling Windows 11 -Installing Windows 10 -Disabling Windows Game Mode -testing changing the GPU to a 2080 Super and a Radeon 6700 XT -testing changing the motherboard and CPU to an Intel 9700k and 16 DDR4 -Changing NVME Everything and my games stay the same. Could it be my house's electric current? Please, I invest so much in this PC, and while the games work, I want the best possible experience. power draw PSU requirements to handle an RTX4070 + RTX4090?
Lantegra posted a topic in Power Supplies
Hello, I seek advice in regards to picking a proper PSU to power both an existing RTX4070 and a to be purchased RTX4090 inside of a single computer. A client of mine seeks to upgrade their 4070 to a 4090 for gaming, and wishes to continue using the 4070 for streaming purposes after hearing how some people do this, and/or purchase an Intel Arc card for that purpose. He wishes to do it with his existing 4070, which is a Gigabyte RTX 4070 WINDFORCE OC 12G to be exact. Since it may be relevant, here are the full specs currently AMD Ryzen 7 7700X ASUS TUF GAMING B650 PLUS WIFI Gigabyte RTX 4070 WINDFORCE OC 12G Corsair DDR5 Vengeance RGB 2x16GB 6000 WD Black SN850x 2TB Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX XT Seasonic Focus GX-850 Corsair iCue 5000X RGB Tempered Glass Black Case -> And I plan to ensure both GPUs are properly supported to mitigate any sag. I was initially looking at the be quiet! Straight Power 12 1500W because it has the required connectors: 4x 6+2 pins PCI-E power 2x 12VHPWR My questions are as follows: Am I right to assume this power supply is 'specced' for the type of use I described? Are there alternative power supplies fit for the job? Any motherboard or BIOS-related things I should be wary of? I'm open to hearing feedback. Thanks in advance! -
I have a room cooler which works with water basically it makes air in the room somewhat wet will it end up damaging my gpu? Its really hot here and air conditioning all the time is v expensive

I replaced my old 750ti with a 3060. Everything is fine, but in chrome the fonts are weird. Its like thicker than before and a bit blurry (especially in google search and youtube titles). I have already tried a lot of things. I played with hardware acceleration settings, ClearType, performance settings in windows (smoothing fonts), nvidia fxaa anti-aliasing, restore default font settings, disabled chrome extensions, tried different drivers too, but no luck so far. I took some screenshots so you can see.

Hi all, I have been having some issues with my PC after installing my new MSI 4070 Super. I have been dealing with them over the past few months, hoping that they would go away and doing work with the drivers (using ddu to uninstall everything and installing the drivers fresh without the ), but nothing has helped. In particular, the games that I play tend to crash often (Star Wars Battlefront II and Jedi Survivor), usually after I try to move to another multiplayer match or just while nothing is happening. Graphics are also not as good on the game as they should be, despite the fact that I have such a powerful GPU. Not to mention, my computer loads pretty slow when I start it up, despite having a pretty fast system, and stuff like the calculator program and other programs freeze, then cause the screen to blink for a second. I'm pretty sure that it is something with either my GPU or PSU, though I am not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is driving me nuts. Hey All! Recently upgraded my pc specs from 6th gen i3 ddr3 to 12th gen i5 ddr4. Was planning to upgrade my gtx 960 2gb gpu later but in the new system, whenever I use any gpu intensive games or apps, pc randomly crashes and shows solid colors, the pc remains on until i manually reboot it. I have re checked all software updates and even installed new driver after removing them using DDU. Is my gpu not compatible or my 550W 80+ bronze PSU at fault here? I am also planning to upgrade to RTX 3060 12 GB version later. Any help or suggestion would be very helpful Thanks

Hello to whoever may see this I've just finished building a budget PC for a friend. It's got an RTX 2060 and I5 10400f. To power it up, I repurposed an M RED 700w 80+ bronze PSU that I used in my own rig before upgrading. It used to power a 2070 super and Oc'd I5 10600K so I thought it would handle the new components just fine (and it does). The problem is that I lost or used all GPU cables from this specific PSU and I discovered that PSU cables are non standard ! (Thanks for that manufacturers). After checking the web for a while I couldn't find any cables that would fit into this PSU, so I resorted to using a double molex to 8 pin PCIE adapter. I read online that it is very much not advised, so I tried to do due diligence. I bought an decent quality adapter and checked the markings of the cables to ensure it, then I plugged the GPU into it. After stressing the card and checking the cable I found that it felt uncomfortably warm on the PSU side (The adapter's side stayed cool). Not wanting to give my friend a potential fire hasard I resolved to using two different molex's from two different 6 pin connectors on the PSU in an attempt of separating the power (and therefore heat) output on the cables. After stressing the card for a while again I felt the cables and they all stayed cool to the touch. I didn't notice any stutters, artifacts or performance drops and even undervolted the card for ecological reasons since it didn't seem to lose me any performance. I guess my question is, am I good ? Was I diligent enough or is it still a big risk ? I personally think it should be fine but I would like the input of more experienced builders on the matter since it's my first time using such an adapter. Thank you for reading and for any answer you may provide

I currently have a RTX 2060 with 6 GB of VRAM and I was wondering if this is a good amount of VRAM for current high end games or if it is not enough these days in 2024. Also if I run out of VRAM will it just stop working or will it pull from my ordinary RAM in my computer. I don't play games on ultra settings or anything crazy like that but it seems like it is getting to the high end of utilisation when on medium to some high settings.

I've recently build a new PC. Specs: CPU - Ryzen 5 7600x GPU - MSI Gaming Z Trio RTX 3080 MOTHERBOARD - MSI B650 gaming plus wifi RAM - 32gb DDR5 corsair PSU - 750W corsair SSD - Samsung 980pro For a while I couldn't get any display output with the gpu installed at all, but as soon as I disconnected the GPU and plugged into the motherboard the pc would start fine. I've since got it to display occasionally by disconnecting the CMOS battery and draining the power. Now I can get into the BIOS occasionally and sometimes get logged in. But when I do manage to get in, most of the time the GPU doesn't show up in task manager but then does other times. Once I'm logged in I then go to update my drivers and then the cycle begins of me not being able to log in or get a display. And ontop of this sometimes it works fine but then I restart it and it doesn't work at all. Please help I've updated the BIOS to the latest version but my GPU drivers are out of date. However as stated when I go to updated them it crashes and won't display untill I re-wipe the bios by draining the board.

For a build I'll make after this summer is done I'm looking for a GPU that can run games at 1440p and 90+fps at least and have good performance for 1080p and 4k editing in programs like davinci resolve, adobe after effects and Photoshop. Due to pricings in my country and lack of good used parts I'm stuck betweens an rx 7800xt and an rtx 4070 (potentially a super if prices drop low enough). I'm aware of the new gen coming however I'll stick to this gen. It'll have 32gbs of ram (5200 Mt/s, ddr5) and a ryzen 5 7600. Are the AMD drivers good now? Or should I stick to team green?

Hello! First time using the forum so please excuse if this isn’t the right place to post this. First time builder here, was hooking up my asus 4070 ti super via the included 12 pin adapter. Didn’t make a click when I put it in, but it sat flush to the card. The cable is super tough and stiff! Anyways, took it out to try again, noticed these wires popping out in the middle, not sure if this is exposed wiring. Was this my doing or is this normal?

Just recently, I've been having a problem where my GPU usage (and frames along with it) have slowly been dropping after I launch a game. I first experienced it on Forza Horizon 5, where I had around 70 frames on all max settings with my GPU usage at 90%+ when I first started playing, and after 10 minutes or so, I was down to 25ish frames and 30% usage on my GPU. If I pause the game and let it sit for a good while, the load will return to normal then slowly drop again when I resume playing. This has since happened on other games, such as Rocket League, Gang Beasts, and Jedi Survivor. As the usage drops, the audio will start crackling badly. I suspect this is because games sometimes use the GPU to handle audio. I've ruled out thermal throttling, as I've used this PC for 3 years now with no issues like this and my temps never get that high when this issue is occurring. I also tried taking off the front panel and blowing a fan into the PC and the issue still arose. I've DDU'd my drivers and reinstalled, set the games to high priority, cleaned my PC, ran a Malwarebytes scan, and nothing has worked. Specs: Ryzen 7 3700x RTX 3060 Ti Asus Prime x-570p 16gb of Corsair 3600mhz DDR4 If anyone has had this same issue and has fixed it or thinks they may know the root of this problem, any help is welcome! If any more information is needed, feel free to ask and I'll try my best to provide it. Thanks!

I reacently upgraded my PC yesterday. The new CPU I have which is a Ryzen 9 7900X3D and I have a new motherboard. I was testing games yesterday and for some reason in Overwatch it defaults my GPU to the integrated graphics in my CPU. What's wierd is that I was achieving 164 frames but there's so much screen tearing and it didn't feel smooth. The fps doesn't drop at all and it's not stuttering it just feels unsmooth. However apparently you can disable the integrated graphics on device manager and I disabled it and the game does switch to my main GPU according in game settings it says my GPU's name. But it felt like the exact same just screen tearing and unsmoothness. I'm guessing the game is still using my integrated GPU somehow. It's dumb that this indie game company can't even add a simple setting what display adapter ur using. I did change my motherboard and it was a TUF gaming b450 plus am4 socket motherboard and my old CPU was a Ryzen 7 5800x. My new motherboard is now a MSI PRO B650-P WIFI AM5 AMD B650. I tried everything I could to fix this screen tearing and unsmoothness it even screen tears on the menu of the game. Any fixes?

I am losing my mind. I have received a new motherboard, CPU, and power supply after previously RMAing the last ones. When everything arrived I reassembled the PC to try again. At first it booted to the BIOS as seen below. No bootable devices detected but that's okay. Friend says CPU fan plugged to pump so let's power off and fix that. On the next boot, I get a solid VGA light: the 4090 is not detected. I unplug it and unseat it, power on. Absolutely nothing. The board receives power, as its RGB is on when plugged in. But the front power switch and power switch on the mobo do not turn it on. At this point I'm going mad. I check all the connections: CPU, motherboard, SATA, everything. Nothing is loose. I try again. Failure to start. Having failed to troubleshoot one problem before another propped up, I have to ask myself: is this new HX1000i faulty? I try my old EVGA 850w power supply that I know for a fact worked last week before I powered off my PC to salvage parts. Answer? Yes, it still works! The RGB on the mobo comes on. I try powering the PC on again. Same problem. I am beginning to think every PC I build is developing sentience and refusing to work for me. Please help. This is causing me no shortage of anxiety. OS: Windows 10 64-bit BIOS version: 2613 CPU: Ryzen 9 7950X3D GPU: RTX 4090 Mobo: ASUS PRIME X670E-PRO 2 M2 ssds, 2 2.5 ssds, 2 hdds PSU: Corsair HX1000i HSF: Dark Rock Elite 10 fans connected to Thermaltake fan hub (Important: I flashed the BIOS to the recent version the day before receiving a new CPU. I don't know if this hurt anything, but the fact it started before after the flash appeared to be successful according to instructions makes me believe it didn't.)

Yesterday my computer was working fine, turned off went to sleep. Came back home after work. And my two displays were not working. Put in the HDMI exit from my motherboard. Worked just fine. Computer gives 1 long beep the 3 short beep and after a few seconds another short beep In the device manager it's not showing up but there a PCI device and a SM bus controller. It might be it GPU lights up but fans don't spin. Tried re-seeding it also tried re-pluging the PCI E power cables to the card Any ideas? Or is dead? If is dead... how? It just gave up?
