  1. Catalyst control wasn't detecting my other monitor. I will look into it more when I get home.
  2. Hello! As per the title I am having problems setting up dual displays. I have my main monitor in landscape with my new monitor to the right of it in portrait. Everything worth mentioning Dell P2214H (1920x1080) Asus PB278 (2560x1440) Radeon 7870 w/ 2 mini display ports, hdmi, and a dvi-d. Windows 8 Asus monitor is using DVI-D and my Dell monitor didnt have a HDMI port so I am using a displayport to HDMI cord. I have also verified that the Dell monitor does work (when hooked up to a DVI) Right click on the desktop > Screen resolution. My dell portrait monitor shows as "2. Display device on: VGA" . I tried setting this to extend desktop and applying but it says "The display settings could not be saved. Please try a different combination of display settings." I have the most current catalyst driver for my GPU and I have the Dell monitor driver installed. So what am I missing boys...? I have tried a handful of google searches.
  3. NUC NUC.... like those penguins on that voiceless television show
  4. possibly upgrading to 4k in the near future... I have a AMD 8350 which is probably sufficient but the extra processing muscle is always welcome x3
  5. I broke my telescope last week and I took it to the observatory to see if they could fix it. They said they'd look into it
  6. Asus has done a lot of innovating for enthusiast PCs to more mobile products. Their build quality and design are mostly pleasing....T100's back *shriek*. From what I've noticed Asus doesnt use the best screens for laptops but compensate with better hardware or battery life. Still good value Acer has some very aesthetically pleasing laptops. Lenovo can really pack some value some major value into their products. They also have been quick to put out laptops that use new features and are quality. I hate when manufacturers keep revising product lines that should have been done better in the first place. Gigabyte pretty much started Micro buisness PCs; I could be wrong though. Alienwares X51 is a very decent micro gaming PC thats been around for awhile. AMD's recent APUs are great value. Im suprised the gaming that the higher end APU's can put out. Before this Intels HD graphics 4000 and + series have been reasonable for gaming. this is subjective though and I dont know all the nooks of the technology world. No haterino plz edit: Just thought of apple. While iOS platform doesnt suit my needs (gaming lawls), their products are absolutely magnificent. I don't know how anybody could say a macbook air isnt impressive. Also Macs were OG SSD users, and now that flash memory prices have went down, they look even more attractive. They also do screens right.
  7. Speaking of abysmal hardware specs, Microsoft says you need a quad core 1.9 Ghz processor to run "modern windows" skype (desktop windows 8 skype)
  8. i currently have a 8350 and have been enjoying it. I think it is a little bit overkill as I rarely stress the computational muscle from my CPU, so if your gaming like me and have a tight budget~ go with 8320. You can easily OC a 8320 to a 8350 level. If you have the extra money go with the 8350. One could make a valid argument to go with intel, but beyond this processor is overkill if not used professionally. AMD has a large overclocking headroom that could quite noticeably make a jump in your performance if you need it. Intel will have you paying top dollar for OC potential. I chose this processor because it is value oriented and it suits me well. Newegg has thousands of highly rated reviews on the 8350 if that makes you feel more confident, check it out. Please dont use stock cooler, its very very noisy and terrible. replace it immediately. I can proudly recomment the 212 evo by cooler master.
  9. My favourite thing about the phone is the beautiful screen, my phone is good value for what it is but has absolutely horrendous screen. My friends and I watch videos on my phone frequently and i feel bad how bad the colours are and how no so bright- the brightest back light option is. dbrand I really enjoy this skin option. Im not willing to spend money on a case so it no longer fits my pocket just for personalization.
  10. interesting point but theres not enough evidence to support anything. I dont know of any way to benchmark a phone other than daily use. Also im sure there are some psyche social elements involved in having an aging phone. But its definitely possible and believable.
  11. I own a 8350 I've dealt with this first hand. Seriously the fan is way too loud. My brother has this terrible laptop that runs at 100 C and it downclocked itself to 900mhz from 2.4ghz. The fans run at 100% all day and it isnt nearly as loud as the stock cooler. The noise was absolutely unbearable. 30$ for a hyper 212 evo that is inaudible and drastically lowers temperatures. I cant recommend that purchase enough also my 3x 120MM fans at max speed is very quiet when you compared it to that stock cooler. just saying
  12. I cant stress this enough DONT use stock cooler. its obnoxiously loud and sounds like a helicopter when gaming
  13. My argument on it (Yes im one of those people) I've been a linus fan for a year or two now, but have just recently made an account on LTT. Even though I'm a fan, i don't have to express it by posting on some forum to show how dedicated I am; I simply watch his videos like the rest of you. I've never been a fan of forums, seldom do i post to any forum when that feature is available. i only post when I'm really in need of help or wanting to join in on a discussion. A lot of people don't feel like they have anything to talk or about, or in my case I think theres far better qualified people who's opinion means far more than mine. Myself and others prefer to lurk. I didn't initially make an account because I thought I wouldn't take the time to post anyways but i can assure you that we are fans as well. But yeah there are people who only come here for giveaways, which is okay because thats how to bring new people to the forums. If i didnt make an account for a giveaway I wouldn't have went through the hassle to post this.
