  1. Quite disappointing video. The idea sounds very interesting, the execution was a huge waste of time. Instead of answering the question in 10 or less minutes, the video drags for 40 minutes, while trying to imitate the format of top gear TV show. Unfortunately, that format was held by the hosts, not its own quality, so for someone who doesn't like the humour displayed, the video is unwatchable. Sadly, the attempt to make a funny video has also destroyed the information value. We learn how well can Linus and Brandon compose a shots, not much about advantages of expensive camera. Giving a pro photographer and an amateur a cell phone, mid range camera and pro-summer camera, each for a month, to use in day-to-day life for capturing interesting moments and then seeing the difference in quality of captured images would be much more informative and could be conveyed in fraction of the time used here.
  2. There is still more and more of these blog style, fake banter, less scripted episodes, as opposed to the more compact planned out episodes where host reads the teleprompter. I hope this doesn't become the new standard, as it takes way more time to push across the same amount of information.
  3. It was a letdown that they didn't talk about that at all. That is something I'm way more excited about than some stupid all screen or folding phones. If you want my money, get me something with image retention, as I don't play games or watch video on my phone, so 10fps is more than enough.
  4. What the hell is it with these crusades? First hate on the disc drives, then USB2 I've used to connect the external disc drive once they did indeed remove the built-in ones and now you fight for webcams that many people just tape over or disconnect anyway? Ugh, gotta love the vocal minority ? .
  5. You can get the 1080p video stream, but w/o the audio, so you have to use a program ffmpeg to put them into one container.
  6. No, it wouldn't fix itself if you have studies disabled (like I do). You need to type in the address bar: about:studies Select "Update options" Check "Allow Firefox to install and run studies" Wait for "hotfix-update-xpi-signing-intermediate-bug-1548973" to install Type in about:studies Select "Update options" Un-check "Allow Firefox to install and run studies" The install took 10 minutes on one machine, other one is waiting for half an hour now... PS: The old (now called legacy) extensions were a terrible design, security-wise and shouldn't be enabled, not that it would fix anything, since this is just FF certificate, used to sign the add-ons, expiring.
  7. I have tried to make that work, but I haven't found any good solution that I'd be willing to invest in. That said, if LTT makes a video outlaying the options, I'd be very interested .
  8. Thank you for posting the doc, I really enjoy reading through them . e: And again no doc for 26th .
  9. You have over 50 people working there and you can't even manage to make a review. It was still a 12 minute video, you could have fitted all of the new features in there with a bit more effort with scripting and cutting, but instead decided to churn out a filler video .
  10. They are great, you can pick the graphs you are interested in and pause on them, the value graphs are very informative, they tell you the ratio of value to the price of build, it's very simple, yet effective concept.
  11. There has been a doc on 8th and 1st. PS: Thx to whoever is posting these, seems that when there is no Linus, we get both the news spoken about and the doc .
  12. Hoho, finally a true wan show again, we get the doc (THANK YOU for that), we get news on the wan show, we get real good banter, I really hope that Riley and Luke become the default hosts, they work so well.
  13. I keep my own accounting separate from the bank and compare it item for item, it sure hasn't happened to me, but since electronic money transfers are a norm now, I sure as hell want to keep up to date on this topic. Sadly, all I've read so far were more or less opinion pieces, not a good journalistic work.
  14. Does anybody have some good sources for the MasterCard threats topic? Sadly nothing in the OP.
  15. What I'd like to know (I haven't rly searched yet, just wondering if some1 here knows). If there are some SDKs for the run of the mill Chinese drones. e.g., I have KY601S and I wouldn't be opposed to mess around with that :) .
  16. Where is the WAN show document from the most recent episode (took place on 5th/6th)?
  17. More and more, reviews, most notably, phone reviews on this channel are just so far from what I want from a phone, it's almost not even worth watching. If I want perfect experience in some area, I'll use device designed for it. Phone should have good reception, call clarity, robust e-mail app, GPS accuracy and connectivity to my other devices, none of that is even mentioned in the review, instead, half the time is about movie watching and webpage scrolling? And hell, the lack of HW buttons is why I don't even watch movies on my tablet, since I can't easily change speed or use shortcuts for time jumps, are there apps for Key 2 that allow this? If there are, then it's better for movies that any other device I have seen thus far.
  18. Previous GPU had problems as well and the current one was doing fine in a different machine, as of now, my money is 80% MOBO, 19% RAM. This thing is so specific I'm just hoping to run into some1 who has experienced the very same thing...
  19. When viewing pictures or video through a web browser, pictures on the desktop, photo viewer, IM app, video player etc., some pixels get corrupted and display as wrong color. It's a rather specific thing and I was wondering if somebody has experienced similar issue, since all the searches have yielded result concerning the individual files, which is not the case here, it's either MOBO, RAM, GPU or CPU. The corrupted pixels usually stay on the same place until I reload the picture, their occurrence tends to correlates with edges, as seen in picture 1. On some occasions, they move rather erratically, the video shows one such instance, it in about 10% of instances, always the same one, but I haven't noticed any pattern. Additional info: I've first noticed it after swapping the previous GPU that was causing TDR crashes and sometime would prevent POST because it wouldn't be detected for the current one, that was working fine in different machine, but at first the dots were very hard to notice, so they could have been there before the swap, it only got very noticeable about an hour ago. If you have experienced something similar, please let me know . dot.problems.zip
  20. Yep, the video is missing for me as well.
  21. Just watched the first TechLinked episode, I like it, but just hope it won't overlap with WAN show. It would suck to hear the same news twice. It's OK to have the thing still in the thread, since then it's super easy to skip, but I'm usually not at the controls when watching WAN show, so skiping there is a problem.
  22. I'd actually really like to see Ryzen 7i (or whatever that 8 core with iGPU is) that is fairly lightweight with thunderbolt for eGPU box. I pretty much only need GPU for the occasional game or some password cracking, but could use more CPU power pretty often. Do you know if such a thing is in the works?
