We partnered with Collective Digital Studio to give you lucky people the opportunity to be the owner of a new Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ as part of their "Your Fest Foot Forward" campaign!

A few things i'd like to say about the conversation above:

Free review units != sponsorship: Sending a product to a reviewer is not like paying the reviewer. They usually cant sell the product either. They get sent the product in order to make a video and give their opinion. If they think the product is bad, they're free to say so. Of course companies like nvidia can sponsor Linus's videos, but that will not be a part of a review. It's either a pre-roll ad or product placement.  Linus can't get away with lying about a product: He's not the only person reviewing it either. If the product is shit people will find out one way or another. Whether that's other reviews or feedback from consumers who bought the product. If Linus makes a positive review about a crappy product, people will find out and he will not get away with it.

Tecnic reacted to LinusTech in Intel - "Talk to the Product Manager" Live Chat & Giveaway
    So what is this?

This is a very rare opportunity to do a LIVE Q&A session with one of the product managers who worked on the 730 series enthusiast grade SSD from Intel. He and I have connected already briefly and aside from trade secrets, you guys are welcome to ask any questions you want about the product, the development cycle, and what it's like behind the scenes working on an important product like this at Intel!

Jeff Fick, SSD engineer for Intel will be joining us for a Q&A and suggestion session on March 17th, 2014 at 11am Pacific time

Click here to find out what time it is in your time zone

This will be a great opportunity to talk about your ideas, ask questions, and give feedback on this exciting new product.

Not only that, but we'll be giving away TWO Intel 730 series SSDs on the show... Because Intel is sending me the SSDs and putting me in charge of shipping the prizes, the giveaway will be INTERNATIONAL.

It will be streamed at http://twitch.tv/linustech, and the giveaway we're running is for LIVE VIEWERS ONLY.

The main topic of the stream is basically up to you guys and I'd love to see you post your ideas in this thread ahead of time so we can figure out how to structure this to make it as entertaining and educational as possible!

I want this to be a lot of fun and super interactive, so please post your ideas in this forum thread. I will definitely be taking more suggestions during the show as well, but it's great to have a starting point.. Folks who post in the thread versus trying to get their questions featured live *will* have a bit of an advantage!

How do I win the swag?

The winner will be chosen randomly from the live viewers of the stream during a random period, so make sure you're paying attention!

    1. Make sure you're registered for Linus Tech Tips forum and signed in while you're watching the live stream
    2. Make sure you're watching from somewhere that you'll have access to a browser
    3. Tune into the stream right at the beginning and make sure you're paying attention!

Found the link on pcper.com for a review that is very interesting.

Edit: I updated the link from pcper, apparently I posted the wrong one. It was supposed to be about a review from legit reviews which I linked down below before sorry.
Pcper page where I found link for the review (http://www.pcper.com/news/Graphics-Cards/Controversy-continues-erupt-over-AMDs-new-GPU)
    Review: http://www.legitreviews.com/amd-radeon-r9-290x-press-sample-versus-retail_129583/3

By doing so they were able to get a Retail card which right now depending on the vendor they have a very big difference in performance compared to the Press cards to basically the same performance, AMD or the vendors have done something to the BIOS because the cards should be performing very similarly.

Tell me what you guys think, should the people who have Press cards make the BIOS available for download so people who have 290x can flash it ?

I'd actually be down for this. I can read specs and there are plenty of other unboxings that provide similar enough content to work as a substitute for the absence of your own if it allows for a greater amount of more unique content and a better more defined niche.

I would probably go for a large decrease in unboxing rather than abandon it all together, that way the more new and interesting products can still be displayed rather than anything everyone requests including your cat.

i.e. things like the Shadow rock, pebble, O2 can be unboxed and things like cases, graphics cards, keyboards, hard drives etc. can be ignored.

Well... I wouldn't really like if you completely abandoned unboxinigs, but you could do less of them. I had always liked when you mixed the reviews and the unboxings into one video (when you talk the first time and slick the second part).

I think you could do fewer unboxings but focus on making good reviews and guides, but not abandon unboxings all together.

Unboxings/in depth reviews are where it's at, plus all of your other content. I would like more in depth reviews on some things like laptops and tablets etc.

Yeah, the 6300 is really good if you're trying to keep prices on the cheaper side, I wouldn't really bother with an Athlon 640 and the 6100 doesn't really seem worth it to me so my advise would be this: go with the AMD FX 6300.
As to the motherboards either of them look alright to me, I would say go with the none LE if you're overclocking, there's not a huge price difference.

Yea there shouldn't be any significant bottleneck in this.

The most important difference is the power phase design, the non LE one has a heatsync over the phases where as the LE one doesn't. That means the non LE will overclock better.

The M5A97 R2.0 has front usb 3.0 header while the LE version doesn't. I would go with the M5A97 R2.0 with the FX6300.

Go with the LE board and the FX6300. I just had the same CPU as you do not to long ago and I upgraded to a i5 3570k and it made the world of difference.
