  1. I'm looking for a new monitor and would like some recommendations. Price: < $300 CAD Size: 24"-25" Resolution: 1080p or 1440p Panel Type: ips Refresh Rate: Ideally 75hz+ Response Time: ideally <5ms gtg Uses: Gaming, Media consumption Other: Swivel and height adjust are not required but would be nice to have. Don't really need vesa compatibility but would be nice to have also. I'm currently looking at: LG 24MP59G: https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16824025515 Ticks all the boxes but some people seem to say that the panel isn't actually ips. The user manual also seems to state that the panel is actually tft. Viewsonic VP2468: https://www.amazon.ca/ViewSonic-VP2468-Monitor-DisplayPort-DaisyChain/dp/B01HSABSGE/ref=sr_1_14?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1518348227&sr=1-14&keywords=ips I have some conflicting information on this monitor. I've seen some places saying that it has a 5ms response time but the manufacturers website says 14ms. Refresh rate is only 60hz and is also a fair bit more expensive than the LG. Has swivel, height adjust, and vesa compatibility though. Dell U2417H: https://www.amazon.ca/U2417H-24-Inch-UltraSharp-InfinityEdge-LED-Backlit/dp/B01D11JUAU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1518406308&sr=8-1&keywords=dell+U2417H&dpID=31H6b%2BotPpL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch Based on the PCMag reviews, this one is quite comparable to the Viewsonic above. Price for both are about the same and colour calibration are both pretty good. So between these two, the only factor would be gaming performance. Unfortunately, the PCMag reviews didn't compare the two in terms of gaming performance.
  2. Then I don't have any ideas left. You can try clearing your icon and thumbnail cache as well as checking your shortcut arrow overlays. Refer to these links http://www.sevenforums.com/customization/168221-transparent-icon-black.html https://windowsforum.com/threads/windows-7-custom-icons-problem-black-squares.69706/ Good luck
  3. After giving the folder an invisible icon, try going into folder options and checking "show hidden folders" and then go to the properties of your invisible folder and set it to hidden.
  4. Have you tried changing to one of the windows default invisible icons instead of the one you created?
  5. The Panasonic g7 is definitely the better camera in both photo and video by far.
  6. Well my brother is actually endorsed by Fujifilm, but also works with Sony cameras, he personally loves the xt-10 for photography , but the a6000 series definitely has better video
  7. Panasonic GX8, G7 or GH4 are probably the smallest 4k ready cameras with interchangeable lens system
  8. nikon fm2 or the canon ae1 or standard work horses
  9. I think it's like this. Normally, the school prevents users from directly accessing sites. User--Filter--Site. A proxy makes it so that your traffic goes to a different location first so you're not going directly to a site. User--Filter--Proxy--Site. The filter only stops you going to a site but doesn't stop you going to the proxy server which then directs you to the site. In this way, you never actually connect to the site but the proxy server which simply displays the site which is also connected to the server.
  10. I would go with 2 monitors and play games on only one of them, that way you don't get bevels right in the middle.
  11. Wifi go isn't a driver, its an utility found within Asus's AISuite software. https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1012149#A4
  12. The Asus Z170-A doesn't have onboard wifi. Find your wireless drivers for your adapter/card on the manufacturers website.
