  1. What a fucking bummer they can't continue making mineral oil kits. Really just terrible. I know I basically never post here and because of that I would totally understand if I am not eligible for the giveaway, but I think making a Mini ITX mineral oil PC for my dad, who records music as a very expensive hobby would be very cool. He has renovated about half his basement to be turned into a recording studio and I think having both a new PC (he's running a 2008 iMac right now) and a very cool display piece would be awesome. As it stands now, the best word to describe the room would be "groovy" and I think a pc similar to the one you guys built would be amazing. Whoever does win, I really hope they post the pc's they build. I really love the way these look.
  2. BenQ makes some of the best gaming monitors out there from what I have seen. I see a lot of pro gamers using their monitors and swearing by them, so they must be good quality at least. I don't really know what that says about their IPS panels though, since all the gaming monitors use TN panels.
  3. I really like that it has an IPS panel. I've been using a 2560x1440 IPS panel for gaming for quite a while, and I don't really understand why people think they're bad for gaming. The response time difference is completely unnoticeable when I compare it side-by-side to my 1920x1080 TN panel.
  4. He trains Pokemon and Pokemon accessories.
  5. A friend of mine has this one: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80214182/ It's REALLY nice. Simple, but looks awesome and works for multiple monitors
  6. For the price, you should be getting something not made entirely of plastic. I think they look good, and they are really easy to mod and can look REALLY cool, but the build quality is pretty sub-par and glossy plastic looks pretty meh.
  7. I have a 120 GB SSD for my boot drive and programs. Having Photoshop on an SSD makes it boot up like 1912842 times faster. I have a 2TB internal drive (Barracuda I think) for my storage and Steam games. Currently sitting at 1.2 TB in games. pretty happy about that. I use the storage for all my photoshop work primarily, though.
  8. It is. I'm not "branding" it or anything with LTT stuff (sorry) because I use it mostly for hanging with friends. Honestly, you have to make your own fun on my server since it's mostly vanilla. I'd suggest (only since it's just for LTTF people) using this server: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/26310-ltt-minecraftserver-up-and-running-unofficial/
  9. Sorry right off the bat if this is not the place to post this, but I - along with all of my friends - was wondering what real kind of performance difference there is between different speeds of RAM and different timings (also: cas latency). From looking at the Wiki, it looks to me like timings make a difference of milliseconds, yet people still think that a cas latency of 11 is noticeably different than a cas latency of 9. Should the difference just be roughly 2 milliseconds, an unnoticeable difference? As for speeds, I know that faster speeds = faster RAM, but to what extent? If RAM A is clocked 30% higher than RAM B, does RAM A perform 30% faster? or close to it at least? I'm interested to see what you guys think (or know). Again, I don't post much, and when I do, it's in an already established thread, so if this is the wrong place to put it, feel free to yell at me below.
  10. Wait what? The description says you're using a 5970. I'm assuming you're not using that, but the pictures show both a 780 and a Titan. Which are you using?
  11. Looks really awesome! Just a thought, but putting some red LEDs in between the rad edge closest to the side panel and the edge of the case might illuminate the hardware nicely and reduce any harshness produced by the red LED fan. I find putting more than one source of light in a case to be much better on the eyes, even if the light is dim. It gives the light a little less contrast and makes it flow nicely. Very nice build, though! I'm very jealous of the motherboard especially!
  12. I know it's not in your price range, but Amazon does tons of sales on this mouse. If you aren't already, I suggest subscribing to techtomorrow on YouTube because he does "deal of the day" and this mouse has been on it like 5 times recently. They had it for $24 at one point. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001NTFATI another: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826146033
  13. the server I posted is mostly vanilla. It has a creative world and a survival one. I have a few non-intrusive mods like factions, mmo, lockette, and essentials.
  14. Okay I didn't see anyone post an ip for an MC server, and I'm currently running one. Seriously, if someone has a better server, as in one that can take more, please post it because I don't wanna seem like I'm just plugging my server here. BUT I did recently start a server for some friends and I, which I'd be happy to let you guys jump on. It's just got factions, essentials, and that sort of thing. Again, don't wanna seem like i'm advertising here, but here's the IP 71.195.3.65 It can only have 30 people on it, which is why I say that if someone has something better, I'd be happy to just remove this post and just use that. I have fairly good and stable connection, but on full load it might lag a little bit still. It is dedicated though, so should be up 24/7 unless I'm changing a bunch with it.
