Older cars have more charisma, but when you drive one for a while, you realise how far we have come with modern cars.
Even the top supercars had flaws which, if they didn't had that "flair" and charisma, nobody would even look at them...
I have driven manual my whole life and it's really fun, specially sporty driving.
On the other hand, I wish my current car was manual... All the higher tier powerful cars seem to head into the auto territory...
yeah, like Derrk said, 5 years is a stretch... I would go with something in the 1600€ range and maybe get a new one in 2 years... On the other hand, do you use it as a workstation or do you need it be portable? Have you thought about the GS65?

Hmmm, the ryzen 3 2200g comes with integrated GPU, don't know if you could have spent that money on a more pwerful CPU w/o integrated VEGA GPU, since you're getting a 1050...
