  1. Hello, so last few days I've noticed a lot of delay when handling and fiddling with large files and folders. Photoshop images, video files etc and to my surprise found that according to windows my memory was locked to about 1067Mhz and CPUZ reports it at 1064Mhz? So puts my memory at around 2128Mhz which is not right. Running on: Windows 10 1903 Ryzen 7 1800X @ 3892.72Mhz all-core stock voltage Asus Crosshair Hero VI Corsair 3200Mhz kit 16GB (2x8) When I first built this system I previously managed to get the memory to 2956Mhz, still below its 3200Mhz intended speed but I couldn't get it any higher when I got this system (a problem everyone was having back then) and simply never bothered to go back and change this later. However now my memory speed appears to be locked and I can only boot the system with memory management set to auto. However here's the funny thing, my system will still POST if I manually set the memory settings but windows will fail to boot no matter what I tinker with. I haven't updated the BIOS since maybe 2016 and I don't think I've paid any attention to other software but I'm curious to know why my system suddenly reverted the memory settings. There hasn't been any automatic updates since or the few days before I noticed the change, anyone with experience with early Ryzen systems got any obvious answers I am unaware of or might have missed? I will update the BIOS, reset the memory and mess around later today when I can but if anyone has a good idea of what to look for it would be great. Thanks.
  2. No, a FX 8300 series processor is more than enough for a GTX 1060
  3. I think he means he'd wish he had bought the 4GB model
  4. So a bunch of people got more than what they asked for? hehe
  5. 53 degrees sounds about right to me... you're still below the limit.
  6. https://www.amazon.com/Acer-G257HU-smidpx-25-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B00QS0AKVK/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1466086245&sr=8-8&keywords=BenQ+1440p for under $300 However I'd spend the extra and get this: https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-GW2765HT-27-Inch-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B00KYCSRSG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1466086245&sr=8-2&keywords=BenQ+1440p
  7. As long as you keep a receipt and have the box open you'll be fine. But the easiest way to avoid trouble or delays is to put it into your suitcase and padlock your suitcase. I've been to Canada and brought some parts back, they never asked me about anything nor did the UK.
  8. Doom 3 wasn't bad.. but compared to traditional doom was slow... and a bit boring. I'd say go through the classic series, Assassins creed. Bioshock, Fallout etc Or if you want to go really old school, buy Doom 3 BFG edition and play through Doom 1 and 2 as well as extra levels XP
  9. You'll be fine, as long as the box is open. I'd also either keep it with me on the plane, which is a bit annoying. Or stick it in your suitcase, however if you do so you better padlock your baggage! Don't want dem baggage handlers opening your suitcase and finding a lovely 1070 in there. It's happened to me before.
  10. I just have 3 icons. Recycle bin, a games folder and a "fuck load of shit" folder where I put everything else...
  11. That's a lot of symptoms my friend, the range of possibilities are large. Have you done any virus checks?
  12. If this is through skype or ts3 or mumble there will always be static, it can't really be prevented. Try going to your Playback Devices, go to your headset's properties and have a look at some options there in the Enhancements and Advanced. Some of those options can help you hopefully.
  13. Well, when I turn 7.1 on outside of games it just sounds weird. There isn't really any static or disruption, so you could be having a problem or two. Have you gone through the windows audio wizard to set up your headset?
  14. Your not really supposed to use your 7.1 surround outside of games and listening to 7.1 compatible music.
