  1. Hi all, quick query as I’m curious on my gigabyte 3080 why is it the top right connector doesn’t have the 2 prongs one either side of it? Is the same on the other 8 pin too. Taken a picture and drawn what I mean
  2. Setup a new wifi extender today, all worked fine however one device wouldn't connect properly (Steamdeck), would only connect if i manually entered the details into the network information its like it wasnt automatically being given a IP. Went into the extension settings and noticed that the DHCP default gateway was wrong. Changed it to the correct one and instead of DHCP auto its now on. Was this the correct thing to do as its completely solved my issue of that one device not connecting up. Not very clued up on networking so any help would be great
  3. Granted I worded that wrong I sit there for hours plugging and unplugging it . Installed it and had to relocate it when I did this happened
  4. The fan header on my motherboards plastic shroud cover keeps coming up when unplugging my fan. The cover doesn’t come completely off and I can slide it back down however would it be an issue if it actually came off? And is it possible to secure it?.
  5. Hi all Got a pair of Edifer powered bookshelf speakers, understand these might not be up to high standards but the do the job for my office pc. Just moved them to another pc in another room and when I connected them up I got a loud static buzz when I turned them on. Turned them off to check the connections the speaker wires were plugged in correctly however I’m unsure if I had the RCA connections the right way around could this cause what I experienced? Unplugged everything checked connections and away I went seems to be absolutely fine. Just curious if rca could cause that as I know if the speaker wires were the wrong way around it would just be running out of phase ? many thanks
  6. Noticed at low rpm as I’ve got the gen 3 model it’s currently set at 30% PWM however I seem to be getting every so often like a pulsating using/rattle sort of noise. Traced it to the pump as I’ve stopped all my fines double checked it’s not wires touching and so on. Question is could low RPM cause this issue as putting it at a constant speed seems to clear it up?
  7. Quick question as this cooler shares the fans and pump as one header to the CPU is it adviced when using it as PWM to run it at constant speed as can’t imagine fluctuations in the speeds will be very good for the pump ?
  8. Hi all, Think I already know the answer to my question however just wanting it double checking I’ve got an external Dac/Amp for my PC and it’s been working fine however I wanted to use the external power option to be able to power higher headphones if I needed so I purchased a 5v 3a plug and away I went. Plugged it in and then plugged the same usb I’ve been using to connect the pc to the Dac, however if I rubbed the USB on the back of the device as it’s made of metal I could see a little spark and my monitor screen would flicker off and then come back on? I’ve tried a different plug and it was absolutely fine so I presume the ground is knackered on the plug that was causing the flicker/spark ? Into the power strip that I’ve got connected is my USB Hub and my monitor. The rest of the PC is plugged into a different plug. Question is everything seems to be working fine however I’m just slightly paranoid I may have damaged something? I’m fairly confident that it was the plug I purchased as like I said it didn’t happen with the other plug or just using it running off a usb and everything has been working fine for a year. Secondly would a a dodgy plug cause this and why would only the monitor flicker and not cause any other issues? Presume the monitor will be okay? Once it was plugged in it worked fine it was just the initial touch of metal that caused the flicker and what looked like a spark.
  9. Anyone that updated to Nvidia 496.49 Are you having intermittent black screen flickers for a split second? whole screen doesn't go black. Goes away for 10 minutes or so then will do it again. Was completely fine before update
  10. Hi all think this may just be one of these things with windows throwing a wobbly. Playing a game just fine came to close it, closed absolutely fine so no issues there however when I got to windows something wasn’t right. Had an internet page up and it wouldn’t load anything closed it and couldn’t open anything at all on my desktop be it programs or the windows start up. Crtl alt and shift didn’t do anything either just proceeded to show the spin symbol on my mouse. Tried typing something in the “type here to search” box however just went black soon as I clicked it. Restarted and it all went away had to restart via the pc. I’ve done SFC scan to repair corrupted documents as it did find some however curious if anyone else has had this or it’s just one of them wonderful things.
  11. The TDP of my 3080 always stays under 100% when monitored with afterburner with the overlay. Decided to install HWINFO and ive seen there is a normalised Tab aswell however this is showing as high as 115 % My card is a 3080 vision OC 370W Card. I was checking new world as im sure youve all heard or seen the jayz2cent video where he sets the power and it goes above 100% to something like 120% however mines not doing this at all when monitoring with the same programs hes using in game for example with afterburner. I never see above 100% nor have I seen the 115% the normalised figure is reporting. The TDP normalised on new world will be up to 115% however when running heaven for example the TDP normalised only gets to 102%. Just wondering is this any cause for concern
  12. That’s the logic I came to. Only thing confusing me is why a benchmark pushing 368W produces 105% TDP normalised and new world produces 115% TDP normalised at 368W
  13. I understand there’s a problem with it TDP is fine it’s the normalised that doesn’t look right. this card has a max power draw of 370W. Highest spike I’ve seen is 368W so can’t be classed as dangerous. Why is 115% being reported on normalised TDP at 368W But in a benchmark for instance 368W works out at 104%. id understand a spike over power cap being an issue however this is under. 100% power for me is 370W RTX 3080 Gigabyte vision OC
  14. Trying to figure out if what im displaying is normal its strange behavior just trying to get an idea on whats going on. Its not like the typical % overshoot issue. My card is a gigabyte RTX 3080 Vision OC, when playing new world im seeing spikes on the TDP normalized in hwinfo and the msi afterburner overlay of around 115%. The normal TDP power is saying 93% which would make sense as its hitting 340W and its a 370W card. My question is why am I seeing spikes of power that arent actually happening as if my cards running 100% power it would be at 370W and Afterburner and HWINFO are reporting 340W at a “normalised TDP” of 111%. Unsure if i should just ignore the normalised figure as its not going above its Wattage? Is this normal behavior? what’s confusing me is why then when I play another game is my card reporting 363W at 98% TDP but a normalised value of 104%? just doesn’t make any sense. Why is one a higher Wattage but a lower percentage? 111% at 340 W 104% at 363 W
  15. HWINFO is reporting that my graphics card is producing 343W however GPU-Z is reporting 360W which I deem to be correct as MSI afrerburner also reports the same value. Do i need to be adding anything to the HWINFO GPU power to get the correct figure? Included some pictures
  16. Hi My 3080 is a stock Gigabyte Vision OC, Issue im having is MSI Afterburner is reporting 115% spikes on my Power Usage and the same percentage is recorded with HWINFO too. In this instance this morning I only overshot by 5% meaning my TDP was 105% however the power used was only at 340 watts? 3080's reference are rated for 350W. GPU-Z is reporting that this card has a Max of 370W However ive never seen anything that high. Its the TDP normalized that is reporting the higher figure however afterburner also hooks the same % so I presume thats the one I should be looking at
  17. Finding conflicting answers on the internet is the Gigabyte vision 3080 OC capped to 370w? As some websites say 350
  18. Quick question hopefully you can help, in the normalised TDP reading on hwinfo how come it goes up to 118%? Mines hitting 115% and just curious why as it’s completely stock however it is a OC Gigabyte 3080
  19. Quick question Using HWinfo to check TDP % of my rtx 3080. Total GPU power (normalised) (% of TDP) is 115% Total GPU power (% of TDP) is 99% Why are they so different and is the one going over 100% bad and not normal? This is whilst gaming Gigabyte Vision OC RTX 3080
  20. 5600x temperatures what are you getting? 34 idle. Hitting around 70 degrees in games (apex) running 3440x1440p at 144hz at ultra. Unsure if this is a normal temperature or it’s slightly high ? With a noctua nhd15. prime 95 for about 20 minutes I’m maxing at 55 degrees. cinebench r20 is 55 degrees after 10 minutes with PBO enabled cinebench will rise to 80 degrees. considering maybe a arctic cooler freezer 2 360 but unsure if it would provide lower temperatures. More so wanting to free space up in my case but won’t be doing it if it won’t alter temperatures too much
  21. Assassins creed Valhalla restarted pc? PC forced restart when first playing Valhalla? Just got Valhalla installed and decided to jump straight in. Loaded up fine started controlling the little child and walked towards the guy playing the guitar and PC restarted? Looked on event viewer and ill I have got it Event Id 41 Pretty confident this isn’t my pc as I’ve been gaming most of this week just not on Valhalla. Had a poke around other Reddit forums and apparently this restart is common when first installed just wondering if anyone else has had this and can put my mind at ease It hasn’t happened again since playing and I’ve been on it for 3 hours now
  22. Hi all, Using an NZXT X53 thermals are great and really loving the cooler performing perfect however I run the pump 100% all the time, and at 100% I noticed pump buzz? if i drop it to 65% it goes away so it is definitely the pump. I wouldnt say this is loud but is audible is this normal for some buzz/noise from the pump on x53
  23. @naike ive got the exact same motherboard as you however im running a 5600x, just wondering what you load cinebench r20 temps are? and do you have PBO enabled in bios as mine sets auto automatically but if I manualy enable it I get higher scores and boost however temperature tops at 79 degrees
  24. sorry should have put the rest of the speccs in. Ryzen 5600x msi x570 tomahawk 32gb DDR4 3600Mhz Ram Corsair Vengance NZXT X53 240mm aio
