  1. Budget (including currency): 600 CAD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: GTA 5, beam ng, car games, sim games Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 3060ti, 1000w corsair psu, 1440p at 144z Hey everyone, I have been out of the PC loop for quite a long time now, but I am back into playing games and I noticed when I play games my PC isn't really pushing out the best fps it can, anymore. The PC is fine when I use it for light gaming here and there but ever since I upgraded from a 1050ti to a 3060ti it has become pretty laggy I don't know if it is being bottlenecked in any way I have an i7-8700 non k which I do remember I delidded and added liquid metal so I am not sure it could be throttling itself because I do get blue screens but very rarely. 16gb ddr4 memory and a dell motherboard. I think my PC is an XPS 8930 but with a different psu and GPU. I have a 1000w psu, I know overkill but I got it for free lol. Is it worth upgrading? I'd like to use the 3060ti I got for now and upgrade the motherboard, CPU, memory, CPU cooler, and case. Anything better than what I have now in a $600 budget or is it just best to start from scratch and build something new? I would like to use it for like 5-6 years like my current build. The setup I have right now is pretty decent but it just can't handle 60 fps at 1440p max settings in any game.
  2. Hello, 1 year ago I installed a ssd, and reinstalled windows on that ssd. Everything went smoothly with no issues. It worked for around 11 months until my pc suddenly restarted itself, I thought nothing of it because it booted into windows all by itself. The wallpaper was changed but I did not think much of it. I realized that it started to work really slow even though it was supposed to be on a ssd. I went to retrieve one of my files I needed for work, and it was not there anymore. I then checked task manger to see if somehow windows had switched over to my old hdd where windows had been installed. And to my surprise the Hdd was working much harder than any of my other drives and I realized that the ssd was doing nothing. Does this mean that windows had somehow switched back to my old hdd? I checked Administrator tools in the control panel and can only see that only one os is currently active and my ssd version of windows was not there. So what do I do? Somehow it switched over to my old hdd, should I reinstall windows onto the ssd? Because it has all the windows files on it already?
  3. have you checked your power button's wires on your motherboard? Sometimes they can come loose and not make a solid connection. Try shorting the pins if you know how to. Here is an idea, not all motherboards are the same though https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/2011-jumping-a-motherboard-without-power-switch-button
  4. Something like this, this are more expensive than the one you have there, but they are much more efficient. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Q7L7YJ/corsair-cx-2017-450w-80-bronze-certified-atx-power-supply-cp-9020120-na
  5. looks good but I would change out your psu for something like a 450w or 500w psu. 600w is a bit overkill for this build.
  6. it may be corrupted, you may need to reinstall windows
  7. it may affect the warranty, you will have to talk with the manufacturer about the warranty
  8. have you tried to reinstall windows?
  9. have you gone into bios and changed it?
  10. do you have any apps that start when you turn on your pc?
  11. it looks playable here are some benchmarks....
  12. what was the blue screen error? Do you know?
