Well I finally got back to the city and completed this 16 core / 32 thread project on the other Z820 workstation in the last couple of days. The CPUs arrived from China a few months ago, I just haven't been able to get back to my apartment where they were delivered and I was spending all my time in upstate NY with my family due to the virus.

In any event the system is running great and new CPUS went in without a hitch. I installed both E5 2673 v2 chips, using MX-4 thermal paste, and something to note, this CPU is unique in a number of ways. It was never a retail chip, strictly used for OEM environments. OEM CPUs of this vintage appear to have some advantages over their "retail" counterparts. For example, this CPU has an all core turbo of 3.6GHz and a single core max of 4.0GHz. It's retail rival, the e5 2667 v2 comes in at 130w, so it uses substantially more power at basically the same clock speed. You also need to have the 1125w PSU to feed the power hungry CPU in this particular system if you go with the other 4GHz 8 core CPU option, the 2687w.  Which I have, but I can due without the heat of 150W TDP CPU.

The big daddy of the bunch (of comparable Xeon 2600 chips that also have a 4GHz turbo, of which, there are three in this family) the E5 2687W v2, comes in at a staggering 150w TPD, and has a base speed of 3.4GHz, only 100MHz more than my OEM 2673s base speed of 3.3GHz. And that gets negated when you factor in that both CPUs have the exact same turbo frequency set of 3600 MHz (5 or more cores). The 2673 v2 uses far less, at 110W TDP, its essentially the same CPU due to identical turbos. So in this case, given my hardware, the 2673 never dips below 3.6GHz all turbo so in reality, so in this case, the CPU has a base speed of 3.6GHz.

    Turbo core configuration:
3600 MHz (5 or more cores)
    3700 MHz (4 cores)
    3800 MHz (3 cores)
    3900 MHz (2 cores)
    4000 MHz (1 core)

Here are some specs on the z820 that now holds dual 2673 v2 CPUs with a total of 16 cores and 32 threads and 64GB of 1866MHz 8 channel memory... very happy with the end result.

I went a little overboard with the testing and benchmarking of these new CPUs. But I have a lot of time on my hands due to circumstances that are out of my control. I will add the results for Cinebench R15 and R20 as well.

Guess the encryption was too strong for the Chinese government to crack so they banned it

you would be in your right to send that message, and people would have to have the responsibility  to think for themselves.
and who defines what disinformation is?, take the current epidemic as an example the WHO where spreading wrong information about how there was no human to human transmission, and how travel shouldn't be stopped, all the while taiwan was warning about it, the "fix" is to listen to the most information possible

"Designed to be amazingly faster vs an enthusiast THREE YEARS OLD pc"? Did they seriously write this? In their presentation for a NEW product?
    They are in deep S.

I'm not colorblind and it's still hard to read, especially the legend lol.
