  1. So whenever I turn on my laptop (Asus ROG Zephyrus M GU502GU) after it has been turned off for a couple of hours, the screen on my laptop starts displaying these weird lines (see links posted below). The screen remains black while the laptop is posting and only starts displaying something when the windows lock screen appears. The weird lines disappear after a few minutes and remain gone until I turn off the laptop and leave it for a couple of hours. If I turn off the laptop and restart immediately, these issues do not occur. Sometimes I get screen flickering and dimming, but only when the aforementioned issues occur. This started happening 2-3 days ago, and I don't have any clue as to why. I haven't dropped my laptop or spilled something on it. Please ignore the background noise in these videos Weird lines: https://streamable.com/0ms9kc Screen flickering and dimming: https://streamable.com/1yisd9 Screen flickering and dimming 2: https://streamable.com/t2pavb Restarting laptop immediately after shutting it down: https://streamable.com/kw7mdx Black screen while posting: https://streamable.com/43wdxl
  2. My college's network has all the UDP ports blocked which makes me unable to use a lot of services like WhatsApp, GeForce experience, steam, BitTorrent etc. Even pip doesn't work, which I need in order to download python packages for my classwork. Is there any way to convert UDP traffic to traffic, or any way to bypass the block? In order to access the internet through my college LAN, I need to use a proxy server which listens on port 8080. Please help me out here. All opinions are welcome here and if you require any more info feel free to ask me.
  3. So, my windows 11 install(fresh) on my Asus Zephyrus M has a weird bug where the blue spinning circle appears when I bring the mouse pointer to a certain section of the screen. The section is a small square and while the pointer is in that zone, the mouse clicks don't work neither does scrolling. This happens everywhere, browser, apps and even on desktop. If I move my pointer outside that section everything works as normal again. So, what could be the cause of the issue and how can I fix this? I have linked the screen recording of this aforementioned weird behaviour https://streamable.com/xzvvqx
  4. So some info about the whole ordeal first, Recently I repasted my Asus Zephyrus M GU502GU about 3 weeks ago with Cooler Master master gel maker and undervolted it. I ran cinbench r20 to verify if the repasting improved the temps and I got max temps of around 80 degrees celsius on the CPU which was an improvement of about 4-5 degrees. Idle temps were at around 40 degrees and not affected at all. I also played games and saw a 9-10 degrees temp reduction on the GPU side. So overall I was happy with my first ever thermal paste job but since the last 2-3 days I have been seeing negative impacts on the CPU temps. The idle temps are unaffected and the GPU temps remain the same while gaming but while running Cinebench r20 now the CPU reaches a max of 92 degrees and starts thermal throttling. I have read that high idle temps and high core differentials are some signs of a bad thermal paste job but I have none of those issues so what might be the problem here?

  6. I have an Asus Zehyrus M GU502GU with i7 9750h (undervolted) and GTX 1660ti. I mostly play games on it so it remains connected to the power supply most of the times but recently while using the device unplugged I've noticed that I'm getting terrible battery life. It has a 76whr battery which used to last me around 6hrs a couple of months back or so. Hwinfo shows that my laptop is consuming 33Watts of power even when the brightness is cranked all the way down, with no applications running and wifi turned off. Nvidia Optimus is properly configured so it's not an issue of the DGPU running in the background and Hwinfo confirms this. CPU utilization shown in the task manager is normal (1-3%) so I am unable to figure out what's causing my laptop's battery to drain so quickly. Please help.
  7. I have an Asus ROG Zephyrus M GU502GU which came preinstalled with 16GB of DDR4 2666MHz Single RAM stick. I have been using my laptop to play games on it and I'm getting bad frame rates due to the single-channel RAM and so I'm looking forward to installing another stick of RAM on this device. I used Crucial's system scanner to list compatible memory for my laptop and the list had 16GB sticks as well as 8GB DDR4 2666MHz sticks. Now I know that you need the same stick capacity and frequency to get dual-channel mode but I've also heard of something called Intel Flex mode which comes into play when the RAMs are of different capacity so I was wondering if installing that 8GB stick on my laptop would give me more performance than my current 16GB RAM running on single-channel model is giving.
  8. I don't own any bluetooth controllers, so I would like to know If there's any way I can emulate physical bluetooth controllers using on screen gamepad
