  1. Yup HXI sounds like the best idea for me atm. Better pay a bit of a premium now, and the digital monitoring is a plus for me. I'll go for that unless there's anything else I should know?
  2. You'll find that SSDs and case fans don't take up much power at all.
  3. I've actually seen this one before, but I've seen nothing on what the acoustics are like.
  4. I would like to keep it around 200 but I know 1000w can be expensive so I can spend more if need be. $250 is probably my max.
  5. Well if you're asking what kind of threadripper I'm not sure at this point, that's going to be down the line. My GPU is a gigabyte 2080 ti
  6. 750w is plenty for the average build, which yours seems to be.
  7. Where I'm buying it from? I suppose Amazon/newegg, but honestly whatever has the lowest price that's probably where I'll get it from.
  8. Potentially a threadripper build in the future, maybe custom Watercooling aside from that.
  9. Should I get a corsair hx1000i vs EVGA supernova 1000 p2 psu? My main priority is silent operation at most/all loads, but EVGA comes out to be cheaper. What do you guys think, any benefit one has over the other? Do you guys have any other PSUs in mind? Thanks for the help.
  10. If you're using this for gaming you can support almost anything with a r5 3600 or 3600x. Other than that it looks fine, but are you sure you don't want to hold out for just a couple months for the new GPU drops? It will expand your options. But if you're hellbent on getting it now, it's a nice rig.
  11. I'm in the same boat as you but it's better to wait for options, I doubt the price of current cards will increase so just stick it out.
  12. I'm looking to get a wifi card but I really don't want to get a sketchy one, and there aren't a lot of reviews for these cards yet. Looking for some reputable suggestions. Thanks.
  13. I used to be really stubborn about keeping windows 7 as well. I switched maybe a month ago and it's worth. Just get Windows 10 and call it a day.
  14. My guess is that your resolution isn't supported by the monitor. Set it to the native resolution and try again.
  15. As long as all your pins are properly placed into the socket there shouldn´t be a huge issue. Screw in opposite corners first for even pressure and work from there. You should be fine as long as you don´t use a stupid amount of force.
  16. From what you´re stating here it sounds like a power delivery failure, especially if your temps are within safe parameters. 600w seems to be enough but make sure all your parts are getting any power it may need. Sometimes loose cables may seem like they´re plugged in but they´re not actually making a connection. From what I remember Kernel Power 41 errors can be caused by sudden power failure, but it´s not limited to that. I´d say check your connections and power supply and make sure everything is in order there.
  17. Sounds like it could be a PCIe slot issue. If you have another GPU/any video card, throw it into that slot and see if it outputs anything. I assume you may not have any, try any other PCIe slots you may have in the board with the same card. If that does turn out to be the issue, you may have to bite the bullet and send in the MB for repairs or bite the bullet and buy a new one. Do you have onboard video/onboard graphics with you MB/CPU? See if those work at all.
  18. If you want my opinion, the most important case fans are the ones at the front and back. As long as you have decent positive and negative pressure, it will be more than sufficient. If you have to pick between installing fans at the top or bottom, I would say go with fans on top, especially considering you're using an air cooler and you don't have to install a radiator or anything. Super simple diagram right here:
  19. Worth the extra $25 over the non-i version? I don't really mind actually but the monitoring is the only difference right?
  20. Mini-itx can be a bit difficult with cable management and such, but absolutely do-able. Your main concern will be making sure all your parts are compatible with the space you're building with. PCpartpicker does a pretty good job of checking part compatibility, so try putting your setup in there and see what fits with what. Other than that, it's a pretty normal build experience. I think the FE will be able to fit in there, but make sure to triple check your parts. Measure twice, cut once, etc, etc.
  21. I've been looking to get a 1000w power supply (Yes I do need 1000w, trust me on this) but i'm torn on which one to get. My primary focus is noise levels, as low as possible in med/high loads. My budget is ~$250 or less. Digital monitoring is a big plus for me but not really a necessity. The ones I am currently looking at are: Antec High Current Pro Dark Power Pro 11 Corsair HX 1000i I've seen the PSU tier list but i'm not sure what the noise is like on the Antec, especially considering how it is a bit older than other options on the list. If you guys have a quiet power supply with monitoring below $250 that would be God tier but I know you can't have your cake and eat it too. All help, suggestions, and questions are much appreciated.
