You could also run Rosetta@Home as they are CPU only work units and they are pushing out lots of COVID-19 WUs.

1.) Murder that bastard Virus
2.) I no longer need a white noise generator to sleep, due to fans.  Lots of fans.
3.) Heating is no longer an issue.
4.) Saving water on washing clothes, as I'm stark naked sweating my bollocks off.

Oh okay thanks!  I'll have to figure out the F@H then.  I've been using Boinc for years but want to help with the LTT team too.

They have really done some amazing work it seems. I read their entire AMA on reddit, as well as following many of the links for more info. Seems like Microsoft/Github and others are lending a hand, hell looks like LTT is going to try and roll out their own server for this which is fantastic! This is really something @LinusTech and team can put a lot of power behind, not just in terms of raw compute power, but in terms of reaching a VERY wide community, getting even more clients up and running, and helping support the back-end which would need the support after calling what could be 7 digit numbers to this cause... FAH just went from 30k to likely now on the order of 500k active users (it was ~430k as of last night?), they will need an incredible back end overhaul to double or even triple that number.
 
This pandemic is not something that we can't beat, but it will take a strong concerted effort by scientists to overcome, doctors on the ground, data science specialists, network/server infrastructure teams, and us users who have hundreds of thousands of GPU's and CPU's sitting around doing nothing most of the time. I am guilty of it, I used to fold 24/7 and fell off the wagon a few years back. I think its time a lot of us re-evaluate what is important, get our machines running especially on off-peak electricity hours, and really changing the paradigm of what WE can offer science which will greatly increase all of our quality of life, not just in devastating times like this.
 
Once we make it through this rough time, there is a fantastic opportunity for us to stick around for FAH and start solving an amazing amount of health issues rapidly. They are seeing more data in days then they used to see in months which has exponential gains for the scientists working on the data since they can more easily pivot, recognize trends and make life saving calls on what to simulate and which molecular paths to follow more quickly while also having much more data to back up their statistical analysis.
 
We really do have an amazing opportunity here to reach a huge audience, sponsor spots, colabs with other creators (virtually of course, given the current situation), and really hit this thing out of the part and kick COVID-19's A$$! @nicklmg @CPotter @James @jakkuh_t @GabenJr @AlexTheGreatish and @Slick for good measure

Just saw this, and I used to fold a long time ago. Decided to hop on. It's not much, but it's something. Maybe this will force me to go trade this RX480 for a 2080...

Nice! Glad to hear that. Just used my own guide to set it up on Manjaro and finally got my AMD GPUs to work. That was a PITA on Debian and cost me like days. Nvidia is much simpler due to not partly broken installers... 
will write a quick guide tomorrow, since this linux VS Radeon folding thing comes up every month or so here and in other forums 

Joined the team with two 1080Ti's and an 8700k running full time to fight COVID-19.

F@H servers as of a couple of hours ago now have Work Units to run. (They had been overloaded with the massive influx of new F@H clients.)
They are now emailing out passkeys as that server had been down too.
I have been getting back-to-back Work Units for COVID.
 
They definitely had some scaling issues with compute to get the Work Units created and Storage to accept finished WUs.
But it all seems to be online now.
 
Don't wait for the competition... Get folding now so we can get a vaccine faster. Hours count as people are dying.
