  1. This is so frustrating, there was another post indicating that the soft floor allowed cpus such as the i7-6700k and i7-7700k. But now that's questionable. This is an absolutely unacceptable clusterfuck from a large company.
  2. I have a Skylake i7 and did not know this. Thank you. Holy, Microsoft botched the communication on this launch on an unimaginable degree. From the TPM supply issues, to the dual booting issues, and TPM confusion in general with no end-user communication. Completely unacceptable for a company of this scale.
  3. Did you even read my post? That was my entire point. My issue is when people only care about other things in response to a specific point.
  4. That's sorta a bad argument. I take that back. It's a TERRIBLE argument. It's a whataboutism. "You hate this thing because its bad for the environment? Well... Why didn't you hate this other thing that happened earlier that also hurts the environment!" Truth is both are bad, so is the e-waste from the mining cards (something Linus talked about). A lot of environmentalism has been pushed aside in the recent months, but the point of a lot of the showboating that you see (Greta Thunberg taking a boat across the Atlantic) is to show how inconvenient being environmentally low impact is, and that NEEDs to change if we want to make any progress.
  5. hey man, I see that you're using firefox. Could it be a software related issue. I use firefox myself and hate to say this but try chrome with the same video.
  6. If you're really sure that an SSD is out of the question, then a good 2 TB HDD is better value than a SSHD imo. It also depends on your workload. An OS will ALWAYS be much better on an SSD, and a little faster on an SSHD. For general video/audio storage, all three will suffice. Just my .02
  7. Signal has said they might consider abandoning the US market if shit like this continues to happens. https://signal.org/blog/earn-it/
  8. I've had a CX750 for a while now and wanted to know if anyone else experienced terrible coil whine interfering with audio. CX750 owners, what has been your experience?
  9. Episode 7, on it's own, is an ok movie Episode 8 and 9 are trash. One of the main criticisms with episode 9 like force healing doesn't actually bother me for the reason that is already existed in Star Wars, and that it was poorly introduced and explained in the sequels rather than being a creation of bad writing. In the Darth Plagueis copypasta, you may remember that it's about saving someone's life using the force. Also, there have been theories that rather than Padme dying from bad writing or "sadness", that palpatine used force healing to heal Anakin/Darth Vader at the expense of her life. keep in mind Palpatine was Plagueis's apprentice, so it would make sense that he would know how to do such a thing.
  10. I am curious about what you think about the obviously non-political prequels, or the clone wars animated series?
  11. I think the better question is "Are there any known hardware vulnerabilities on skylake core i3" And the answer is yes. https://www.teckknow.com/intels-skylake-kaby-lake-based-systems-vulnerable-usb-exploit/ https://cpu.fail/ https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4073757/protect-windows-devices-from-speculative-execution-side-channel-attack
