  1. Windows 7 USB-DVD Download Tool was the problem! I created a bootable flash drive using Media Creation Tool and it worked in a USB 3.1 port.
  2. Thanks. But that’s not the question. The question is: can a Windows 10 bootable flash drive be connected to a USB 3.0 or 3.1 port to start installation?
  3. I do use that to download the .iso file in my PC. But I use the other one to make the boot drive.
  4. No, I use that one to download the .iso file in my PC. Later, I use Windows 7 USB-DVD Download Tool to create a boot-able flash drive.
  5. Hello! I’m curious if that’s how it goes for everyone. First of all, my mobo is Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master (rev. 1.0). I can boot with a flash drive to update the BIOS using any USB port: 2.0_3.0_3.1 But if I want to reinstall Windows 10 clean, I need to use a USB 2.0 port, because the 3.0_3.1 won’t work. I create Windows 10 boot drives using the program: Windows 7 USB-DVD Download tool. Am I missing anything, or is this normal?
  6. Well, in my case, I can’t talk about instability or overclock, because my modules are plug-n-play types @2666MT/s.
  7. So, I moved my DIMMs from slots 1+3 (A1+B1) to slots 2+4 (A2+B2). I benchmarked my PC using: Geekbench 4.3.3, Cinebench R15, Cinebench R20, FutureMark MemTest, CPU-Z 1.9, and Windows 10 rating command “winsat formal” in Command Prompt. AND THE RESULT IS... THE SAME! No gain and no loss in performance.
  8. Yeah! Your answer is pretty much what I also believed before: that both configurations (A1+B1) or (A2+B2) are the same thing. But some insist that A2+B2 is “the correct position”. Anyway, if I’m moving my DIMMs according to their advise, I can’t go wrong, right?
  9. So, with other words you also say that A2+B2 is preferred over A1+B1? Should I move my DIMMs in that order?
  10. Hello! I own a Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master (rev. 1.0) motherboard. I have 2 DDR4-2666 memory modules of 16GB each (no XMP enabled). I inserted my memory modules in slots: 1+3 (A1+B1). Everything works great! Recently I’ve been taught that the correct placement of 2 memory modules is into slots: 2+4 (A2+B2) because of some signal reflections or so... My question is this: Is there any truth to that? And if so, why does my mobo manual say nothing about it?
  11. Hello! I have certain icons on my desktop with long names, but Windows only shows me a part of their name. Is there a way to increase the visible length of the icons’ names so I can see their entire name? I knew how to do that in Windows XP, but Win.10 is different... ?
  12. So... it’s an overclocked CPU! That changes temperatures! But a non-overclocked CPU should stay below 80 degrees! Mine does!
  13. I’d worry if the temperatures of my CPU (i7-9700K) would get over 80 celsius degrees! Investing into a liquid cooling solution is vital! Mine ain’t that beefy (Corsair H45), but it keeps my CPU below 80 celsius degrees.
  14. I don’t go lower than TLC! I have 2 MLC drives and a TLC (NVMe) drive. The next drive that I’ll buy will be NVMe MLC. PS: Big, fast and cheap cannot exist! Novices will buy PLC NVMe drives thinking that it’s a good deal! ?
  15. Upgrade Step1: Motherboard, CPU, CPU Cooler, Memory. Everything else can be replaced later...
  16. The most “safe” way to avoid incompatibility issues is by checking out the Qualified Vendor List of your motherboard. Buy a memory kit that is on that list!
  17. Windows 10 v1903 is good (at least for me) ? I heard that Microsoft will release v1909 in september. Does anyone know the specific date?
  18. My Intel i7-9700K runs at 4.7GHz with default BIOS settings, no overclock.
  19. Well, what can you do? It’s hard to help someone through messages, without being there, when things get complicated. Other participants will try their best to help, but if nothing works... Servicing the PC is the last option.
