  1. Hi, I have a Biostar X470NH that is paired with a 5600. I quickly realised it is stuck just below 3.5GHz. After some googling I found a Reddit thread with the exact same problem and it said the fix was Biostar giving them a modified bios that has the CPB unlocked. I tried contacting their support but it has been a week without any responses. In my current bios the supposed option of CPB is not available. I tried using AMIBCP to force it to show the option which worked but still did not enable CPB. Any thought on how I could replicate the modified bios? Attached is the latest bios file.X47BK523.BSS
  2. Ive found an older y540 with an i5 9300h + 1660ti for 100$ more is it worth it?
  3. I'm going to college soon and will be needing a new laptop. I don't mind it being heavy so a gaming laptop is what I'm after. I'm majoring in computer science so a good display is good to have but not prioritized. I will be doing some gaming on my spare time (Valorant, War Thunder, and COD). Performance and Build Quality (in that order) are the things I'm looking for and a good keyboard is nice to have. I'm looking for something in the range of $700 to $900. I've found 2 laptops with in this price range. Lenovo Legion 5 Ryzen 5 4600H GTX 1650Ti 16GB RAM 120hz display 256GB nvme ssd and a 1terabyte harddrive Acer Nitro 5 Ryzen 5 5600H GTX 1650 8GB RAM 144hz Display 512GB nvme SSD I've seen JarrodTech's video on Youtube comparing Ryzen laptops and he said that the Legion 5 is the best all round one with great build quality. Let me know which you thing is the better option in terms of build quality and whether or not Zen 3 is worth it. If you have some other suggestions it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  4. You need to give more information. Did the gpu fan spin? Does anything indicate a hardware issue? Have you tried reseting the gpu?
  5. safe bet is an i5. but i would check out some of the xeon e3s available as they can be quite cheap. e3-1240 and above are all 4core 8threads.
  6. nope, the i3 beats it by quite a bit.
  7. that amd fx has worse single core performance compared to the i3 4160. it shows low cpu usage because games are not utilizing all 8 cores rather than the 2 cores faster cores of the i3.
  8. Thanks! i asked him in his youtube and he replied within an hour. told me to install optional update in windows.
  9. got myself a Jingsha X99 - D4 with what hwinfo and cpuz says a c610 chipset in it. in device manager there seems to be a lot of Base System Device in other devices missing their driver. i checked their hardware ids and search them and they seem to be related to the motherboard. i cant seem to find the drivers. any help would be greatly appreciated!
  10. unrelated but im not aware that there are compatibility issues for oem cards. do you have any examples?
  11. nope that is infact the gpu running on 1x. just reseated it and cleaned the slot and walaa hwinfo says its x 16 now. no more frame drops/ csgo and r6s top slot latest game ready driver
  12. im having fps drops in games and found this in hwinfo, what does this mean and what can i do?
  13. Launch the Steam. Click on Steam (top menu) and select Settings. Under Settings, click on the Downloads tab. In the right pane click on Steam Library Folder. It will show all the Steam Library Folder. Right-click on the folder that is giving the error and select Repair Library Folder. Steam will run the troubleshooter and fix any problem with the folder. Sorry if this doesn't help. Best of Luck!
  14. First off, paragraphs is a thing. Had a hard time reading that. Second. Monitor PC... that you plan on using the harddrives and ram??? Third, you are implying planning to make a desktop pc judging by the GTX 1060 you said. So how will ram from "an older laptop" (sodimm) will be of use when they are not even the same slot as desktop ram (dimm). I will be assuming you had just gotten into pc building and advise you learn some more before trying to build a pc.
  15. Tech Jesus says Sapphire Nitro+ or Power Color Red Devil. Choose the one you think looks better.
