They make a pretty good laptop. Otherwise, for peripherals, you're just better off with companies like Filco or Corsair or Logitech, who make better peripherals for around the same price.

Anker makes a USB hub with an integrated Ethernet port. I'm also generally a fan of Anker. If you buy a USB 3.0 based hub and connect it via a USB 3.0 port on your computer, you probably won't notice any degraded connections. There's so much headroom over a USB 3.0 connection, you'll be fine in most real world circumstances.

I'd probably recommend a usb keyboard to use apart from the laptop. A Poker II or Poker 3 would be a compact mechanical option. Otherwise, something like the Apple wireless keyboard. I believe Logitech has some nice light wired and wireless keyboards, also.

Gaming on a Model M probably won't go too well. The max rollover of a Model M is something like 2-4 simultaneous key presses. For example, if you're jumping (spacebar), crouching (ctrl), moving diagonally (w, a) and trying to reload (e), something's going to give. More than likely something will give before that, because you won't stop completely depressing a key before you start pressing another one. Won't be a problem for all games, but it'll stop ya more often than you think.
