  2. ever since i got the ryzen 5 5600x (previously ryzen 3600) my system has been crashing while streaming. event viewer shows me this, with different processor apic ids. ive already updated chipset drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled ryzen master, made sure the ryzen power plans are gone, and i cant figure out why my computer is crashing. no blue screen, it just freezes and reboots. any ideas?

I thought that showed it was hitting 95C! LLC doesn't undervolt, just changes the vdroop compensation which if set too high will overshoot voltage.

i know llc doesnt undervolt but i set llc to 3 as part of ryzen clock tuners procedure. ryzen clock tuner set up my cpu overclock nicely

  4. 9 hours ago, Bitter said:

You could try setting the LLC a little lower in BIOS to reduce some of the temp spikes. Actually you can probably undervolt it a some too to lower overall heat. 95C is pretty hot, boost clocks start throttling back at 70C. If I keep my 2700X temps down it'll all core self clock to 4ghz at 80C but when I've gotten temps lower (open window in winter, I was curious!) it would get up to 4150 all core. Not worth it! Over 70C it would only do 4.0ghz, and past 80C it starts pulling back pretty hard toward base clock and will begin to throttle under base clock past 95C. Keep that peak temp down and you'll get better performance, less noise, less heat, less power use, and a more pleasant experience.

i actually set LLC to 3 as part of ryzen clock tuner, which also undervolted a lil. i thought 95c maximum meant that ryzen master doesn't let it go above 95c. cause even after a restart it says 95c max. it never hits that though. i hit around 65 MAX in game.

Maybe your CPU is scared of the RTX3080?!

Some people on Reddit actually 'swear' that you've to sit it all the way down to 0% to get it to downclock. In fact, here's one such thread:

yeah actually setting it to 0% finally lets me go as low as 1000mhz in ryzen master. mobro/nzxt cam still shows it as a constant 4200mhz though.
im getting as low as 36c idling now. not so bad, but it shoots up to 50c randomly and crawls back down.

Did you try installing chipset driver and using AMD balanced power plan?

I'm also thinking background softwares pinging those cores, keeping them up

i've tried the motherboard chipset and the more recent amd chipset driver, no difference from those.
i definitely have some background software. i have msi afterburner, elgato wavelink, rtx voice, deckboard, displayfusion, and google drive running.

  6. So I've had this issue for around a year now. My ryzen 2600 seemed to be stuck at 4200mhz. I thought it was an issue with nzxt cam reporting the wrong temperatures and always showing the max clock speed because it would only show 4.2ghz no matter what. I changed to the ryzen 3600, same problem. I changed my motherboard and windows install. I can't figure it out. Today I swapped out to a cooler master ml240 mirror and I have the exact same issues. I've done about 15 builds as a side gig since covid started and I usually idle in the high 20s to low 30s. For whatever reason I idle around the 40s and 50s. I've tried all the power plans, latest chipset drivers, I tried using 1usmus ryzen clock tuner and now I'm at 4350mhz constant reported by mobro monitoring software and hwinfo. Ryzen master shows me fluctuating around 3000mhz and up, but still in the 40s and 50s.
I've tried messing with ryzen master too. I've tried control mode default and auto OC. Usually I idle in the 30s and then if I turn on auto oc I go into the 50s.
My temps are fine and under control during gaming, never go above 60c on my cpu or gpu. Any clues or ideas?

It’s the larger rezzes where they stretch their legs.

I don't think I should be getting 500 fps at 20c. I know that judging by benchmarks it's supposed to be a 50% improvement over the 2080super, but instead there's 0 notable difference and it's actually hotter. I'm seeing other people's benchmarks and I'm absolutely not getting what their getting so I would assume it's an issue on my end. I was just curious if this happened to anyone else because maybe there's some obscure setting that I'm unaware of.

     You need better airflow

I actually have great airflow. I'll stick my hand in the case to check and my intake fans are blowing cold air in. Even my aio and output fans are blowing cool air.

I've built around 12 computers and I use this case a bunch and I've never had thermal issues before. I'm almost debating drilling a mesh pattern into the basement to give it ventilation when I really don't think that's the issue
3 intakes, 240mm aio with pushpull up top, and 1 exhaust in the back.

  9. I just picked up my asus 3080 tuf this morning and so far it's been odd. I have a darkflash dlm21 mesh case. It's an matx case so I know there's not a lot of room for the fans to blow air, but this car is actually smaller than my previous evga 2080 super. It should have more room, yet it idles in the high 50s and gets up to the mid 80s during gaming. It sounds like I have a room fan on, and I'm seeing similar frames to the 2080 super when I expected a noticeable difference. I know the ryzen 3600 isn't a top tier cpu but I didn't think there would be a bottleneck because of it. Anyone got any experience or tips/tricks?

  10. I had the evga 2080 super. 4 outputs. I have 6 "monitors". I have a samsung chg90 set for picture-by-picture so it treats it as 2 separate monitors. I have 2 regular monitors, a projector, and a tv by my bed.
My setup that worked for years with an rx580, rtx 2060, and 2070s was using an hdmi cloner to copy output to the left side of the chg90, the tv, and the projector. so i could have all the options. and then 3 monitors regular.
It worked fine for ages until a geforce update made the hdmi duplicator not work. Nothing I could do. No cable setup got it to work. What blew my mind was that if I rolled back drivers it would work again. So I've been using the older driver for a couple weeks cause I figured okay I'm gonna upgrade to the 3080 tuf and I'm sure everything will just work.

Now I got my 3080 tuf and same story, but there's no old driver to roll back to. I'm trying to figure out how to set this up. I'll drop full specs on everything and a diagram to better explain how I have it all set up.

Sorry the diagram looks like it was made on mspaint. My work used to pay for photoshop but that ran out so I had to use gimp

    🤨 What permissions exactly?

I checked my event viewer logs, and it would (and still does) randomly have these random "warnings"

The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
    {2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54}
     and APPID
    {15C20B67-12E7-4BB6-92BB-7AFF07997402}

I assume those will be different for other people.

So following forum instructions on those issues, I went into regedit, and found all the entries that were giving me warnings, and what you do for each one is right click the folder
(another for-example, Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54}  )  and go to permissions, advanced, where it says "owner: TrustedInstaller" click change. In the bottom text field type in your windows username. Hit OK on all the windows, and go through all the CLSID and APPID errors until you've done that on all the ones that pop up and my computer hasn't frozen since. It's been about a week without any issues nonstop running

    What are the CPU temps?

    Under normal use?

around 38c idle, up to 60c max cause i have a pretty aggressive curve on all of my fans and a push/pull 240mm aio.
i tried some registry edits trying to fix some issues in my event log, hopefully that does it. if it doesn't i might just have to to that windows mini reinstall
