There's been a significant lack of adventure in my life the last few years, but that changes this year! I plan on doing a 10(ish) day cycling trip from Banff to Jasper via the Icefields Parkway. I live in Calgary, but I'd have the waifu drop me off in Canmore to start the trip. I've done Banff to Jasper before, but never the return trip.

The reason I wouldn't start from Calgary is that I've ridden from Calgary to Lake Louise and back, and the Calgary-Canmore leg of that trip is a nightmare due to the strong winds that consistently blow from the west out of the mountains. It took me two days to go Calgary to Banff due to the wind (and a torrential downpour and near-freezing temperatures... in July). I actually saw a cop car in the median and I thought "fuck it, it's 2 degrees (Celsius), it's raining hard, and the wind is so strong that I can barely stay upright on the bike. I'll ask them if they can give me a lift up to the road." I walked up to the car, knocked in the window, and saw that is just a mannequin sitting in the driver's seat. So, I continue on. I remember taking a break at a Husky truck stop and some trucker came up to me as he had seen me struggling on the road earlier and went, "Dude, you're fuckin' hardcore. Crazy, but hardcore, man." It also didn't help that I made a wrong turn and ended up going off the 1A (a quiet two-lane road) onto the Trans-Canada (death's highway).

Fortunately, there are Wilderness Hostels along the way with gas stoves and bunks, so I wouldn't need to bring a tent or anything. I just need food (freeze dried meals, snacks), a rain jacket, and a change of clothes. I'd bring my camera, too. I can travel pretty light.

Day 1) Canmore to Lake Louise 87km. This is more of a warm-up day. It has a fair bit of low-grade climbing along the 1A (to stay off the Trans-Canada). I'd stay at the Hi in Lake Louise, which means I'd get a nice restaurant quality meal for dinner and breakfast the following day.

Day 2) Lake Louise to Rampart Creek Hi Wilderness Hostel 92km. The Icefields Parkway starts shortly after leaving Lake Louise, which means I'm not on the Trans-Canada for very long. This day's challenge is doing Bow Pass. The gradient isn't bad from what I remember and there's a nice long descent after the pass. (Last time I did this, I did it in the rain, had a clap of thunder that sounded like a cannon being shot next to my ear, forgot to take my sunglasses off when I went down the other side and was nearly blind due to the rain on the lenses (I managed to stay on the road because I could see the white line at the shoulder of the road out of the corner of my right eye and managed to navigate based on that until the grade leveled out and I could actually brake since V-brakes don't work well in the rain), and I was also hypothermic due to just coasting down the mountain in near-freezing rain (I was actually shaking so hard by the time I hit the bottom that I could barely stay on the bike). First time I did it it was lovely, though).

Day 3: Rampart Creek to Beauty Creek Hi Wilderness Hostel 55km. A short day, but a tough one as it involves going up Sunwapta Pass, which has some pretty steep grades (around 18% IIRC). Once you get over the pass, you go by the Columbia Icefields.

Day 4: Beauty Creek to Jasper 85km. A largely uneventful day without any major climbs and a mostly downhill grade.

Day 5: Jasper. Rest day and resupply freeze dried meals for the ride home.

Day 6: Jasper to Beauty Creek 85km.

Day 7: Beauty Creek to Rampart Creek 55km.

Day 8) Rampart Creek to Lake Louise 92km.

Day 9: Lake Louise to Canmore 87km.

Day 10: Canmore to Calgary 113km.

In total: 740km with 4800m of vertical. Here's hoping that I actually get to go considering that work, weather, and forest fires could prevent me from doing it. I've already started training for it so that I'm not starting from scratch when the weather warms up.

The termal paste suggestion as above- a lot of the times cheapo paste is used but you can for cheap still get a really good thermal paste, but also I'd invest in a laptop cooler, something USB power would be fine as long as it provides clearance at the bottom.

I wouldn't expect the CPU to overheat with a decent AIO unless heavy heavy loads... But the noise I've heard when either the water pump failed (but the noise persists) or if some cable is being hit by a fan upon startup (whateverybody else says!).

just for reference, I am doing the cybersecurity and information assurance from wgu.edu included in their B.S degree path are these 14 certifications: If you are not interested in the degree path, you can test for any of thoese certs on your own you just have pay for it. (I will say ITIL4 cert was a real pain in the ass for me.) But this list is a good place to start researching.

You'd end up banning all religions, political parties, satire/comedy,  LTT (shock, horror!)... You'd be left in a world full of Tellytubbies and Muppets. It may be fun for 5 year olds but after that age suicide rates would skyrocket.

Maybe that's what you want :F
