Delidded that dead 5960X that's been sitting around for ages. Was a tray /OEM part so couldn't have RMA'd it.
Wish I had a bit of heat though to melt the solder. Cracked the die.
Still tho, it was fun.

Split die in half since all I had was razor blades. Bought this processor knowing that it was either gronked or going to be gronked.
Hard to see since the die split, but I'm seeing 8 cores. When it did work (for half an hour) it had half an IMC and was recognised as a 2603v3.
Could probably use the PCB side as a key chain accessory. Or use both bits and have it "reveal" its insides.
